We enjoyed Julia's port and cheese pairing evening in Greenwich so much we asked her to do a private tasting at our house with friends. The evening was excellent and she showed us some delicious and interesting Portuguese wines. Her knowledge is astounding and she delivers it in way which anyone can understand. She made us all very comfortable despite our silly questions and we can't recommend her and her wine school enough.

We went on the 'Introduction to Wine Tasting' course and we really enjoyed it. The venue is in a private room of a pub in Greenwich. Easy to locate and get there via Cutty Sark or Greenwich station. The course starts with a presentation of the different areas of the world the grapes are grown (Old/New Worlds), an introduction to the different grapes and where they are grown, and some additional fun facts. We tried 6 wines, which all had their distinct taste and characteristics. We had a small break in between the 2 hour course where we had cheese, chorizo and biscuits. The tutor laid it up to us to discuss the wines, which was nice as the whole group (18 people) connected. The Wine School has several courses a week and you can pick and choose what you like (one was about champagne and fish & chips!). Looking forward attending the next week's course.

Just completed our second course with Julia so that's around 75 wines she has introduced us to. They have all been enjoyable, in great condition and each wine has been introduced and explored with a high level of detail and expertise by Julia. We thought we knew a reasonable amount about world wines but Julia has shown us some cracking new grapes, regions and makers to explore. Add to that the fun environment and the way the company comes alive as the evening progresses and you will see why we both recommend and will return again to the South London Wine School.

We had a fantastic time! Julia knew exactly what she was talking about and she led our group expertly through the wine, introducing us to quite a few wines we never would have tried (and enjoyed!) previously! Highly highly recommend the South London Wine School!

I've been to quite a few events at the South London Wine School and they've consistently been excellent. I feel like my knowledge and understanding of wine and spirits has increased loads. I'm far more confident matching up wine and food at home and restaurants. All my sessions have been run by Julia. She a wine expert without any pretentiousness. The atmosphere is really relaxed and informal and the food accompaniment is always fantastic quality and perfectly matched (of course). Looking forward to the next event which includes a talk by a group of French winemakers

We invited Julia from the S.London Wine School to our office for a tasting, pairing wine with cheese - we loved it so much we're going to do another! It was a lot of fun, loved Julia's jokes, and the session was very informative with a selection of 6 wines & cheeses. She was able to answer all our questions, and it was accessible for those of us with very little wine knowledge as well as those with a lot. The combinations were like alchemy; I've never tried a food-matching tasting before, and the taste of the wine & cheese together compared to on their own was such a surprise. We took home an info sheet on where to buy the wines we'd tasted - great value for the price & easy to organise as Julia is super quick to respond to any questions from the office facilities team.

An excellent and informative evening out - Julia was a gracious and knowledgeable host and clearly has a lot of passion for what she does. She created a relaxed atmosphere which greatly aided the learning experience and put everyone at ease. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to expand their wine horizons.

Always a fantastic evening. I've been to a few events at the South London Wine School including last year's Christmas fizz evening, the Chile and Argentina night and the recent special event with the team at Foncalieu. Julia is an excellent host and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed; I've learned a lot every time and will definitely be back. The vouchers also make an excellent gift!

I highly recommend this course. I attended the 8 week introduction to wine, which is a great course to expand your knowledge. Mahima was a great tutor, very knowledgeable and delivered the classes with good humour too. I will definitely be trying out more courses soon!
