Extremely average food. Firstly, we waited more than 20 minutes to even get someone to serve some water or take our order. Secondly, the tables are so close together, they actually brush past you if they move (not a pleasant experience at all). And thirdly, the food wasn’t worth all this poor service / atmosphere. The schezuan potatoes were inedible because of how spicy they were (and not a good spicy flavour- just red chilli hot). Wouldn’t recommend.

Worst service you can wait for hours at a table and they’ll still not even come for an order while everyone orders around you! AVOID THIS PLACE SERVICE SUCKS.. the tables are so close you’ll hear conversations all around you and I literally was brushed by the people on the table behind be twice in the course of my meal. Their food was also overrated and quite disappointing. Crispy shezuan potatoes were just purely doused with chilly without and balance of flavor, they were spice and had no crunch or any semblance of crispyness.. only thing that we ordered that was decent was the chilly paneer salad(although I’ve had better). Don’t waste your time here.

I love it when restaurants surprise me pleasantly. I ordered the Samosa, and it was not what I expected, but I absolutely loved it. Everything was soo good, flavorful without being overly spicy. Also, the price was good and the service efficient. The only complaint is that there could have been a few more pieces of meat, both the lamb and the chicken. There were more potatoes than meat. Otherwise, everything was great!!!

Had a high expectation from chicken Biryani, has heard a lot about this restaurant. The chicken Biryani is also ranked in top 5 of the best Biryani’s in london. The food smells amazing but the taste was very disappointing. The Biryani was very bland.

Great tasting food! I went for the street menu (the ground floor) and everything I ordered was great. Loved the concept of small plates for selected Indian street food and even small versions of some main course dishes. This allows you to try many things and not stick to one main course.

Service was really great, they were able to seat us on a Friday evening with no booking. My cocktail was delightful, it was a virgin drink so I added vodka . I ordered the GT road chicken which was less delightful. It didn’t really have a a strong taste, lacked flavour and authenticity. It honestly reminded me of the curry I had for school dinners. Aside from that the meal was good.

Heard a lot about this place so was keen to experience the vibes. Ambience was nice with a split of street food on the ground floor and the fine dining on the lower ground floor. Prices are reasonable and a good range of options on the menu. The starters were extremely flavourful with good depth and spice. The mains were much simpler and bland….lacking spice and flavour. Service staff were very polite and prompt with food to the table and clearing. A positive experience overall, though if you are looking for options with strong flavours and spice, your options will be somewhat limited.

Combination of Indian street food and fine dining. We had a dinner at the fine dining section. The food was good. The chicken biryani is recommended. The butter chicken was good. The appetizers was average. The service needs an improvement. As the appetizers plates was not removed even though it was finished and the main course was served. We asked for the bill for more than three times. The price was very reasonable.

Do not disguise this as a true bred Indian restaurant. The menu seems Indian but the preparations are far from the Desi vibe the restaurant is trying to create by the ambiance and the name of the dishes. The seating is compact and the place can get very crowded during weekends. The place is a bit understaffed for the number of people they want to serve at peak hours. Overall a so so place for someone seeking true Indian cullinary experience.

Great atmosphere and one of the best biryani you could ever eat in London. Located near oxford street in London and close to Selfridges. Other dishes good too and worth trying, but mainly when we ever in London we have to visit this restaurant and get the biryani.

A lovely alternative to a very busy Indian street food restaurant chain, which I won't name as they need no more endorsements. True pleasure to eat the various selection on offer in Roti Chai , they offer the street food menu up stairs where it's a relaxed atmosphere facing outside street and down stairs they have the formal restaurant which has been decorated more elegantly with wider tables in booth style seating. Can't fault any of the food choice from the street food menu, enjoyed all the selections we had. Definitely worth recommending , unfortunately can't talk about the main restaurant food as we hadn't eaten down stairs but if the quality of food upstairs is anything to go by then I'm sure it would be just as tasty. It's also all Halal so another win.

Mixed experience on the food. The chicken tikka, butter chicken and naans were perfect but the Gobi, chole and desserts were sub par. The raan was cooked well but the flavours did not penetrate the meat at all. Would still recommend them for decent Indian food.

Some nice flavours in the dishes I had here. Personally not the biggest fan of street food so I wouldn't come back. Was worth trying out tho as a one off visit.

Papri chat and naan were good... You can order. Pav Bhaji needs to improve..bland with no spicy onion on side...no real Indian flavour. Methi malai matar.. don't order it, tasteless , sweet, yellow for some reason.

Went for team dinner, food was very good and pretty reasonable for a group of 8 people. We had both vegetarian and non vegetarian mains plus starters and everything was delicious. Low lit ambiance was perfect. Do try their masala chai with Bailey's.

There are two sections for dining. The ground level street food menu and lower ground for a more formal setting. All the food were top notch and full of vibrant flavours from the lollipop chicken to the yummy kerala Prawns. If there was one critique it was that the mint chutney that comes with the lollipop is too salty. As the chicken is already well seasoned, a lighter mint yogurt dip would have much been better.

Really nice! Will definitely come again! Food was delicious, our waiter was fantastic, and a pleasant atmosphere. We ordered Chicken 65 Kerala fried cauliflower, Chicken biryani, Malabar prawns, Garlic nan, Palak paneer. Each plate was finished clean!

This was the best Indian food I've had in my life. The Raan e baluchi was both tender and savory. Though this was a fine dining experience, Sean and I were in an out in 25 minutes. The food came out just 3 minutes after ordering. Overall, this experience has definitely shaped my view of Indian cuisine for the better!

This is a quick service restaurant with a real Indian roadside feel. It has plenty of vegetarian options. The taste of the food is close to authentic even though there is room for improvement on the chutneys - like the one use in bhel puri for instance. The starters were quite good including the crispy spicy potatoes, a recipe many restaurants struggle with. However, the matar paneer had a very ketchup-y taste rather than a fresh tomato flavour. I'd say the sweet quotient in several dishes could be reduced substituting it for a tangy flavour like mint chutney. It is easier on the pocket than some of its comparable peers, but possibly as a result is quite busy and noisy making it really a place where you would eat and go rather than relax and converse.

I was a little surprised to find that this didn't feel or taste traditional at all. Some dishes seemed toned down for Western palet but it seemed popular with alot of Asian/south Asian people so maybe it's just me and my partner, I am very big on South Asian dishes hence surprised. Naga chicken wings - tasted like baffalo sauce rather than the fiery Naga that I'm use to. GT Road Chicken - was my favourite dish of the lot. Tarka dhal - not very flavoursome and seemed bland. Chili paneer - wasn't chili. Roti - was hard, small and wheat based, traditionally I am use to the large fluffy roti that just comes a part beautifully when ripped. I asked the waitress if they have any other type of roti in which she replied no. I am surprised that a place named after roti doesn't specialise in this. Rice - as good as expected. I gave 1 star for amazing service from very polite staff who make the experience. 2 stars for the chicken GT which was fine in my opinion.
