Only 1 of the 2 water fountains works (see photo) has been like that for over 6 months huge queues for it. May 2019 Beware there are quite a few aggressive thug types that come in gangs/groups they stand by you and try to intimidate you & get you off the machines or directly ask you to get off. No manners & the type that have brought a certain culture from other places & are not used to saying thank you or please, spit on the street etc as they are unaware of what is acceptable here or just don't care. The gym especially in the evenings is heaving gets filled with meat and fumes from the huge multi storey Turkish restaurant located next door it's fine if you like smelling grilled meat and smoke whilst you work out but for most it's off putting Unfortunately on several counts this gym has ended up being disappointing. (1) They don't give or do a compulsory induction to show you the equipment, I injured myself badly as a result (2)never any staff around that you can ask how to use things like in other gyms , especially in the evenings or at night no gym staff , when I have seen them they just stand around chatting to eachother so(3) focus seems to be on paid personal trainers (4) I've never been able to book myself on to the so called free classes as they Are always fully booked in advance (5)toilets regularly out of order (6) bad use of floor space , they only have 4 pulley machines always fully booked but there is plenty of space to put in more , but they just fill floor space with expensive vending machines that literally nobody uses (7) only 2 leg press machines again always fully booked (8) many groups of guys in packs hang out and dominate equipment like the pulley machines so it's very off putting (9) the downstairs space of the gym is unsafe the door is always kept open & never locked and dodgy people hang around there (10) the 2 water machines smell (11) no tea or coffee facilities let alone complimentary like in better gyms (12) the price has been going up steadily and definitely not value for money . (13) bathrooms are not so clean and smell bad. Bottom line is this gym needs to improve drastically , I'm considering leaving and going with one of the other cheaper and better value local gyms

Very dirty. Most of the machines are either broken of very dirty. Changing rooms are disgusting. Most of the lockers are broken so it’s very safe. The water fountain that you pay extra on you membership is not working. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO ANYONE!

Been here for two weeks now, coming over from the United States, and this is consistently how this gym looks. The members here have little to no gym etiquette, and staff do a poor job or enforcing proper lifting code. Free weights are usually misplaced and out of order. Not a great experience.

Good and clean gym, but not conducive to classes. Despite having excellent class instructors, the area is not separated. As a result other members (those that lack any common sense and social skills) "infiltrate" the class and it can be very disturbing. Shame cause it was very close to me, but today was the last straw. Good place for working out alone though.

Eh way too busy, cant even get a chance to use any equipment without 10 other people wanting to use it, and the wait for the bench is a joke. No one bothers to clean up after themselves I've tripped over numerous Dumbell weights and plates as people decide to not out it away or no one wants to take off the plates on the ma Hines they was using and feel like the next person should do it.

Decent gym for the price with all the equipment you might need. Always clean. However, it's constantly a mess with people not putting away equipment when they're finished, and the staff are just as guilty of this as the customers (getting clients to do circuits at peak time then leaving all the equipment lying around). Dumbbells in the wrong places, bars left lying on platforms with 50kg loaded on each side. Sort it out!

the gym gets over crowded, the equipment gets sweaty and greasy. The gym users need to use deodorant as people are way too smelly. They need to make cleaning and wiping material available for hygienic reason. It's way to crowded.

I do not recommend unless you want to pay and do not practice! old equipment very poor! the worst is the small surface of the object even microscopic! crowd of people! and the worst lack of space for classes! take place for those who want to practice individually! so you will not exercise individually or on machines because everything is taken!

Previously wrote a 5 star review. Reducing rating to one star, due to recent experience. The assistant manager called Sebastian banned me from the gym merely because I used a bench in the squat rack. Using a bench in the rack is very safe since you can adjust the safety pins to a good height, so if you try hit a pr and fail, the pins save you. I used this setup in the rack for months with no complaints, however all of a sudden this new guy decides to ban my code. Every other gym I’ve been to allows benching in the squat rack. This Sebastian guy says it is a rule across all of the gym group, which is a blatant lie. I went to another gym group gym yesterday and I saw a personal trainer himself setup a bench in the squat rack with one of his clients. The guy must be so bored and have a sad life to ban someone for simply benching in the squat rack.

The gym is always overcrowded, making it impossible to complete your workout without having to skip a few exercises if you don't want to wait. Additionally, the equipment is of poor quality and the internet doesn't work. There are no cleaning supplies available, such as paper or sprays to wipe the equipment after use. Only one person manages this large space, and the other professionals are personal trainers, making it difficult to get support. While the membership is cheap, it's not worth what you get. On the bright side, it's easy to register and cancel your membership, as you can do it by yourself online or on a tablet at the gym.

This used to be my favourite gym but since mid last year when all cleaning products were removed, I have not been attending and currently looking for another gym. The gym is filthy with dirty floor. For a big gym, they've employed one cleaner who usually just uses a mop to wipe around the floor. The floors is never hoovered and Ive NEVER smelt cleaning products or disinfectant after a good mop/clean. There are stains that have been on the floor for months. The equipments are dirty/sweaty, A/C isn't the greatest so we are all just breathing in the same dirty air and we wonder why some people fall ill afyer attending the gym. I hate going there now as I always feel dirty before a workout. With covid and all sorts of illnesses and germs circulating, you'd think a GYM would ensure the place is clean and hygienic. It's a shame the gym has gone down!!! I guess it'll have to be Virgin Active for me. Its pricey but clean and with some great equipment and closer to work.

New The Gym in the heart of Walthamstow, clean wit friendly staff. The equipment is of a very good standard apart from the awful spinning bikes near the far end. Wobble your way through a spinning session on these ?

Great gym, nice equipment. Lovely ambiance and ample space to workout. Strategically located in the heart of walthamstow by the side of the shopping mall. There's wheelchair accessibility. And Victoria line train. Bit driving to this gym is tricky, there is no free parking anywhere nearby. The only meaningful parking nearby is the paid underground parking in the walthamstow mall. Which is about 5mins walk to the gym.

Not a bad gym at all, really enjoyed using it this year as it being 24 hours is really handy. Only issue is how long it takes for equipment to be fixed. I understand it can take a while but a few pieces have been out for almost a month and the tanga water machine which people pay extra for has been out for a week. Once again very good gym but I feel like for the price now more care needs to be taken to ensure it all adds up.

It’s a good gym where the staff are really friendly especially Sebastian who always makes clients feel important. I do enjoy the games that the occasionally have on show as well. Would be good to have a weight machine in the e gym that measures weight for free though.

First time coming to this gym, very big and has all the equipment needed, however all the dumbells were on the ground, i could not find the ones needed, not a very good first impression. The staff managed to put them back pretty quickly after i finished but my exercise still got ruined. It looked like it only happened this time hence why still getting 4 stars but if it keeps happening i might have to lower my review. On the other hand, the gym is big, clean, plenty of space to do your workout and lots of equipment.

Excellent gym. It's popular and has typically 3-4 of each of resistance machines and about 40 running and step machines. Also, the day and 3 day passes are very well priced and easy to use.

Ellis came up to me and asked me for a feedback about my experience in the Gym So far. I myself enjoy beeing in the Gym as is my LifeStyle ,i would Say the space Could be improved by taking out some of these machines(see the pictures) as not a lot of people using them, and Could be added some more benches i would Say. Thanks

Meh, I only come here because is cheaper than others TheGym in London. The staff is nice but most of the people that come here do not have any culture of respect or hygiene. Girls can stay for hours sited in one machine just using their phone without giving anybody else the chance to train and plus they get offended cause you're staring and waiting for them to finish. Only 5 elliptical machines that are always occupied by people that are just chatting. I don't see the disinfectant spray anywhere as in TheGym in Charing Cross. Only hot boiling water in the showers... I mean is a really small gym for the qty of people that go but instead of trying to be thoughtful about others they don't respect anyone's time. So what's the point of the induction videos? The more I come to this gym the less I'm starting to mind paying £10 more to use any other with more educated people

Highly recommend. Great location, Great gym! Very spacious! Plenty of benches, squat racks and spacious weight section and also loads of cable machines. Weight etiquette isn’t great but to be expected at a large gym. VERY GOOD value for money. The gym group App is very good and tells you the capacity of the gym. Not sure there are poor reviews of this gym. Has everything you need and more. Was paying £57 for a smaller gym with less weight options at Feel good centre.

I'm looking to join a gym, arrived with no reception, no staff to greet you or even explain what the gym has to offer, the whole floor (what was visible through the awkward glass doors) was crowded by many people who looked like they were waiting for some of the weights and machines to free up, but I couldn't see any if the rest of the gym to be fair, entry is just prison style pincode with rotary doors only big enough for one individual, a couple sign up screens at the entrance before you can even talk to any staff, also, you CAN'T pay via MasterCard and make sure you bring your (Non MasterCard) card with you unless you have all your details like card number, sort code all memorised as there's no chance to pay with your phone or smartwatch or even cash. Or just sign up before you arrive. £27 a month for a basic plan as well as a first time sign up fee of £10 is a little expensive. I would say a gym like this is worth no more than £20 a month with a basic plan and a sign up fee. Sign up method if you're at the gym is not appealing at all, crowd control style doors, no staff to help, just some screens asking for payment before you're granted entry into the gym where the staff is.

The gym stinks of grilled food from Gokyuzu every time I have been. Weights are left everywhere and no gym etiquette from members. Not for intermediate or advanced lifters. I can say from observing the PT's they are brilliant with their clients so this is the exception to the previous.

I'd like to rejoin the gym, opening in a few weeks. Not sure I really want to pay another joining fee though. I understand covid19 stopped everything, but surely memberships should have been suspended, rather than cancelled and forcing people to rejoin.

I find The gym group a gym with the complete setup, with plenty of machines of the same kind, so that you don't stand in a queue waiting for your turn. It is always very tody, clean, with available showers, lockers, toilets and changing areas. Plenty of classes that you can attend and friendly personnel wherever you go. All this comes with a very competitive price and the option to cancel freely at any time. I enjoy this gym and the atmosphere here everytime I come around.

If you are a local and you're looking to gain some muscles and keep fit, I think this is the place to be, really! The gym itself is very spacious, with plenty of equipment to be used and the cheapest around as the others are not worth what you pay and what you get for it. As for the staff, it is always a pleasure to see them, they are always approachable and very professional ready to help you if you need help with your posture or personal advice, especially Sam, Muks and Ellis! I'd like to emphasize more on Sammy because he is always super friendly and greets me with a smile whenever I enter the gym which makes me feel welcomed. The gym is also cleaned on a daily basis with plenty of air conditioning, which is critical. I hope though they will have better space management in the fitness area, as everything is everywhere! It was better before!! And I give 4 stars because they don't have the Glute Hamstring Machine which I was looking for.

  • 5/5 Kate G. 5 months ago on Google
The gym gives great value for its price. The classes are great, but more floor space would be welcome given how popular the evening classes are. Everyone, PTs and fellow gym goers, are friendly and welcoming. The boxing class with Seb, and classes with Shen and Harriet are a must! If I had to gripe it’s be that the internet needs upgrading.

Good place to work out and lovely staff, however this place can be very busy at times and will have to wait a mo for a machine. From my experience its not always like this depending on the time also people are happy to alternate, you'll need to bring your own lock for the lockers but apart from that your good. There is parking at the mall and a sports direct just in case you forgot something. The gym has a lift and is wheelchair friendly.

  • 1/5 Chris T. 4 years ago on Google
Just joined a week ago but has been closed two times leading up to then with no prior notice. This is infuriating as this makes me feel like they don't care. This is supposed to be a 24 hour gym and has been closed more times than it's been opened since I've joined. Had not seen any signs about it closing and while i was talking to the staff about this, many others were also unaware of this Would not recommend this gym!!!

What does one expect from a gym? Cleanliness? Lots of working space? Equipments and machineries? Not to wait long queue and waste time? PT's? To be budget friendly? To be honest the gym group covers customer's expectations totally. ??

I've been a regular member of the Gym since September 2020. Positives + Friendly & helpful staff members + Spacious with an air con + Many shower cubicles + Plenty of lockers + Generally functional and well maintained lifting equipment + Non-problematic gym members + Great location Negatives - Toilets & showers not maintained frequently enough during peak hours. Sometimes I had to cut my workouts short due to inability to use the facilities - Large lockers padlocked by the same padlocks for months. The problem gets resolved every 3-4 months when the gym is closed for a couple of days - some gym members (unnecessarily) slam machine weights for attention (I have tinnitus and pretty much I am forced to wear earphones to protect my hearing) - The treadmills either work or half of them don't, no in-between. Some of them make funny sound when jogging Despite the negatives my overall experience with the Gym is good. My hope is that they can resolve changing rooms problems as these can make or break a good gym session.

For new members, I liked the option which gave a free session with a personal trainer. Cause, I never visited any gym earlier, so getting acquainted with the kits and environment were important for me. Jonathan was amazing, heard my requirements and showed the kits accordingly. I loved the classes, the trainers are very friendly and approachable, so far I have attended the classes of aneesa, Samuel and Sebastian. They are all very attentive and I really appreciate that. So far my first time ever gym experience is beyond my expectations. To be honest, I went through the reviews before getting admitted here. I am a type of person who prefers the service rather than the money, and it could not be better without the gym group. I really appreciate the cleanliness of the changing room, cause I saw some negative reviews regarding that. So far, I found everything very pleasant.
