👍👍 Well, it's the coldest inhabitat place on the Earth, the pole of cold, what can you say more. It's the place to feel the real cold and freeze. Nothing to do much apart from playing with cold. Not a normal tourist site. It's a really remote place for the explorers. It was -52 when we got there. People often mention Russia, trip, cold, Oymyakon, coldest, people, temperature, degrees, Russian, tour,

Meh. Not as cold as Minnesota. Definitely not as cold as the passive aggressive people in Minnesota. They are frozen hearted jerks. Minnesota nice was made up by the first settlers in Minnesota and is now long gone. They froze to death ironically. Would visit again. Never got the feeling people were pissing on my back and telling me it was raining/snowing.

We've just arrived home from our Highlights of the Trans-Siberian journey having loved our trip to Irkutsk, we were sorry it ended. The Highlights of the Trans-Siberian is a great option if you really want to spend as much time as possible seeing the Russian leg of the train journey and are on a budget as we got to see Kazan which is a must see. We enjoyed it so much we want to do it all over again! We opted to go first class [on account of all the luggage] but all classes of ticket were high quality, decent meals - the Kazan leg was like the Orient Express in terms of comfort and service - and being real working/commuter trains you see life in the Urals and Siberia for ordinary people on the go. The company organised everything from our flights to a stop over and tour in Istanbul whilst in transit to extra time in St Petersburg at the end of the trip in an excellent city centre hotel. We loved the independence of the itinerary which really suited our plans. If we were to do it again we would make extra time on the journey as there was so much to see and do a return visit is needed and the restaurant and bar scene in the provinces really is taking on Moscow in terms of quality and offering. The guides were all excellent, we learned a lot and met lots of people on the journey. Only sorry it's all over.

Some years the temperature drops below 0 °C (32 °F) in late September and may remain below freezing until mid-May. In Oymyakon sometimes the average minimum temperature for January, February and December remains below −50 °C (−58 °F). Sometimes summer months can also be quite cold, but June and July are the only months where the temperature has never dropped below −10 °C (14 °F)

(Translated by Google) The city of Oymyakon in Yakutia is considered the coldest point in the Northern Hemisphere and the coldest settlement on Earth. No wonder he got the unofficial name "Pole of Cold." The officially registered minimum temperature is -69.6 degrees, but there are other, unofficial data, for example, in 1916, the temperature dropped to -82 degrees, which is only 7 degrees below the record in Antarctica. The name of the city itself is translated from Old Yakut as "ferocious frost." The population here is only 472 people. In addition to extreme cold in winter, in summer in Oymyakon there is heat above +30 degrees. Oymyakon in terms of the difference in absolute maximums and minimums has a temperature of more than one hundred degrees, taking on this indicator one of the first places in the world. The length of the day varies from 3 hours in December to 21 hours in the summer, white nights and light round the clock are observed in the summer. Despite its location, there are regular excursions and tours, rather unusual expeditions for those who want to do real cryotherapy (cold treatment), as well as get to know better local traditions and unusual lifestyles.

(Translated by Google) It is located on the left bank of the Indigirka River, and is home to about 500 residents, who are predominantly involved in livestock and fishing. Rarely does it happen that a place in the world is so specific that it constantly fascinates people, and this is exactly one of those found in Russia. It is a village in Siberia, considered to be the coldest place on the planet, with about 500 inhabitants. The village of Oymyakon is located in the Republic of Saha, Far East Siberia in the Oymyakon area. It is the coldest inhabited place on our planet since 1926, where the lowest measured temperature is -71.2 ° C. It is located on the left bank of the Indigirka River, and the inhabitants are mainly engaged in livestock and fishing. From the capital of Yakutia, Yakutsk, Oymyakon is approximately 1,100 kilometers east. The place was named after the Oymyakon River whose name came from the word kheium from the Even language, which in free translation would mean - frozen water, a place where fish spend the winter. According to another source, a Tungu language dictionary, states that the even word heyum means an icy lake. It belongs administratively to Yakutia (Republic of Saha) within the Oymyakon Ulus. It is located only three degrees from the polar circle. The area is characterized by a community of tundra and taiga, and the elevation of the place is 741 meters.

Unfortunately my initial contact with this company wasn’t ideal. However, they did redeem themselves and gained my business. Jelena was great and was also quick at replying. They were very responsive via WhatsApp, even at later hours. In the end we purchased two visas for Russia. They did make the process a lot less stressful and answered other questions I had regarding the trip that weren’t visa related. We got there in the end and I would definitely consider this company if you need help with visas. Thanks!

I actually booked some tours through Expedia and forgot about the 48 hour timeframe to confirm while in Saint Petersburg. However, Go Russia was super flexible and I still got to do some private sightseeing for a totally reasonable price compared to sites like Viator where a private half-day tour can cost you over US$200. My guide was awesome and besides seeing the main sights advertised, took me to Annenkirche and the Museum of Contemporary Art. I wouldn't have gone to either one and I enjoyed the extra effort and thought that went into it as many guides won't do that. Very much recommend. Thank you!

(Translated by Google) After my morning bath on the coast of the place, I always go to this place to have a beer, since they are served very cool. Say that you are allowed in flip-flops and a swimsuit. It is important to emphasize the latter, since not all sites in the area allow it. At nightfall it is usually cool, so it is advisable to wear a shirt by hand just in case. The only downside, to put some, is that they run out of ice for the drinks at the most inopportune moments. In spite of this, it is a very advisable place, since they are very hospitable, in the medical sense of the word.

(Translated by Google) Oymyakon (Oymyakon) is considered the coldest place of all inhabited areas on earth with a temperature of -67.8 ° Celsius. The village is located in the eastern highlands of the Siberian republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and has around 460 inhabitants. In the Yakut language, the name means something like "hot spring". What at first sounds like a contradiction is explained by the hot summer months, when there is a hundred or more degrees Celsius difference compared to winter. But anyone who believes there is a pleasant 30 ° and more in summer will quickly be disappointed, because the surrounding mountains form a basin that cuts Oimjakon from any breeze, let alone cooling wind, so that the air populated by billions of mosquitoes is dry to cut . The next largest city with an airport is Jakutsk, 930 kilometers away (275,000 inhabitants). The journey from Jakutsk to Oymyakon takes three days (pure travel time 21 hours) and leads over the Suntar-Chajatar mountain range with the 2959 meter high Mus Chaja. From the northeast the elongated Verkhoyansk Mountains and from the south the Tscherski Mountains block the influx of warm air masses in winter. The lowest temperature recognized is −67.8 ° C. The −71.2 ° C indicated on the Kaltepol monument in Oimjakon from 1926 are not officially recognized because the value was not measured, but supposedly extrapolated.

Just back from an awesome, 'once-in-a-lifetime', trip on the Trans-Siberian organised by Go Russia who expertly managed every detail from booking all our hotels, train and plane tickets, to organising our itinerary, transfers and multiple city tours, as well as getting us medical insurance in Russia. We couldn't praise or commend Leo and all the team at Go Russia more. The booking and payment process was easy and the client portal was simple to use and offered lots of good travel tips. We travelled from Edinburgh to Moscow with a stopover in Istanbul where Go Russia organised a private all day city tour for us. Our Trans-Siberian adventure took us to many beautiful and culturally, culinary and ethnically diverse parts of Russia. We booked the 12 day Highlights of the Trans-Siberian tour but added 4 days to fit in St Petersburg at the end. All in all, we were away for 18 fantastic days. We were really lucky with the weather and got to see some lovely colourful autumn shades in the Urals and Central and Eastern Siberia and even enjoyed a boat trip on Lake Baikal and had a picnic by it's sandy shores. We made so many friends and had plenty conversation with ordinary folk, taxi drivers, train carriage attendants, tour guides, hotel and restaurant staff. Our bags were laden with souvenirs on the way home. The Russian people may appear reserved at first but if you exchange a few greetings with them in their own language they quickly show you their warmth, generosit, wonderful personality and fantastic sense of humour. We can't wait to visit again.

Took the Trans Siberian Express from St Petersburg to Beijing. Every step of the 19 day trip was well planned and ran to schedule. All the guides were informative and friendly and the accommodation fitting for this kind of experience. It is advisable to read up on the train journey and prepare accordingly. Met some great people and would recommend go russia as they efficiently dealt with all the visas and picked the best of each location.

I just completed a Trans Mongolian Railway Trip with my mother and two aunts. We had a terrific time, and got to see and learn so much over our 19 day trip from Saint Petersburg to Beijing. Our local guides were all fantastic (excluding our guide in Mongolia, who didn't seem too interested in helping us learn about local life), hotels were in terrific, central locations and all were very clean, and for the most part the trains themselves were surprisingly comfortable and clean (again, with the exception of one). Pricing was fairly reasonable considering how much was included in our tour packages, and everything went off without a hitch.

We had a great, super interesting and very well organized trip. Our travel companions looked after us very well and got us through the city competently If necessary, they translated the tours in the museums and they adjusted the program if we were particularly interested in something or if the weather didn't cooperate. Driver, guide, tour guide - all appointments always went as planned, everyone was on time. Traveling at the moment is an adventure in itself. We therefore wrote a lot back and forth with the tour operator in advance - whether it was safe, whether everything would work out, whether the visa would be on time. The response was always quick. So we can highly recommend the trip - and the cities are great, they are always worth a trip.

Go Russia organized the perfect tailor-made trip along the Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow to Lake Baikal for us two pensioners. It was quite a complex program, but it was flawlessly planned and executed. Go Russia's guides in Russia are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, and in addition to giving us great tours in various interesting cities and places of interest along the way (Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Lake Baikal etc.), they helped us on our journey by meeting us at stations, seeing us out to stations etc. They all spoke good English. Go Russia booked excellent hotels for us all the way, and they were helpful throughout, including sorting out the Russian visas, which is pretty important, as Russian officialdom is a bit tiresome to the average tourist (just as intrusive as US visa and immigration practices). Even though such a big trip with all these services wasn't exactly cheap, it was worth every penny of it, and that is due to the amazing efficiency of Go Russia organizing everything perfectly. As opposed to other agencies offering trips in Russia, Go Russia are a Russian company with deep knowledge of their country and with an excellent network of guides and drivers there. Also, Go Russia give you very useful practical advice in detail so that you don't get surprises by differences between the UK and Russia. If you don't know any Russian, probably this is the company you should go with, because they help you along all the way in English. At the same time, they plan the trip so that you get a chance to do a bit of your own thing in various places if you want closer contact with the Russians living there. Also, as we had known before, the average Russian in the street is extremely helpful and friendly, especially if you can utter a few words in Russian. A lot of young people there manage some decent English, signs even in Siberian places have English inscriptions as well - so that combined with the efficiency with Go Russia ensures a memorable trip as long as you are not the type that looks for sausage and mash even abroad.

Go Russia Travel Company work with unreputable tourist companies in Russia. They are not forthcoming with any official document such as a copy of the Agreement of Tourist Services which I needed for the Russian Embassy in my country. This created problems for me. I advice to ask for a copy of the Agreement of Tourist Services from every Tourist company they involve you with. I am never using this company again.

Great trans Siberian trip with GoRussia from Moscow to Beijing by older single woman. Julia did a great job setting everything up for me last minute. This was a trip of a lifetime and every thing went according to schedule. Some sites closed or busy because of national holidays, but made it more fun to see the locals enjoying themselves. Train transfers easy and second class cabins meeting other travelers on long legs made the trip fun. Hotels central and above my expectations. Wonderful local guides at every stop with good knowledge and english and many thanks especially to Ping who I missed saying goodbye to. She did a terrific job when some of the sites were closed because of rehearsal for the big 70th anniversary in Tiananmen Square. I Highly recommend Booking with Go Russia and the price was right.
