I love the food at Chotto Matte. It’s always a nice experience to be here. At this last time, my friends and I were asked to leave the table after 2h and we still haven’t ordered the dessert. I told the friendly waiter that I didn’t get any notification in my booking that I would need to give the table back in 2h, so he found a place for us at the bar downstairs, which was nice as well. We managed to rush to eat our dessert and then went to the bar to close the night with a good Champagne.

The staff and service were fantastic and friendly, as you'd expect from somewhere like this. Foodwise, the sushi was great but somewhat on the safe side with the flavours, and the ribs were surprisingly small. I really enjoyed the sides. The atmosphere of the restaurant was busy and warm, and we enjoyed a few well made cocktails too. Great for a date night, though the food was slightly below the standard I was expecting.

Absolutely loved this place! The pulpo is the best I have ever had (so tender and nicely smoked), all fish was well cooked (not chewy) and the sauces were all very tasty. The drinks were very nice too (yuzu margarita is amaaazing) and I am still dreaming about the matcha mille crêpe to this day. Our waiter was incredibly funny and friendly and super quick and available. I did not find the price excessive, it thought it was fair for the size of the table. I can only recommend.

Came here for my 40th birthday celebration as recommended by my cousin. The atmosphere was great. The location was central. The food was good loved the black cod. But purple potato mash was a bit of a disappointment. The dragon roll, papaya salad, squid and corn steak was amazingly tasty. Personally I was not fan of the tuna ( can’t remember the name). They have a nice touch with candle and sweet treat. Overall good experience. Would recommend this place.

We went here for a birthday brunch, which is quite pricey compared to other bottomless brunches, but anyway....food was very nice and tasty, but portions are not big enough, especially for the price. Having cocktails on the bottomless brunch is a nice touch. However for the price, the food really needs to be a lot more. The desserts look very good though, amd tasted very good too. Recommend to get different dishes and share, as typically if two people get the same dish, it's going to come in a sharing plate anyway.

We arrived to Chotto Matte London in a group of six. We was seated at a table suited for six but it did feel small and cramped. We all had £75 per head and was looking forward to our visit. We scanned a barcode for the menu but it wasn’t very user friendly at all. Here are the dishes I ordered and tried Spicy Chicken Karaage - nice flavour, good kick and presented well. The coating was nice. Arroz Chaufa - I didn’t go past the second try. We had this ordered 3 times around the table, not one person eat it. Felt grainy and didn’t go together Chuleta de Cordero Ahumada - the lamb itself was cooked beautifully. I couldn’t get over the toppings of nuts etc, it was very strong. Perfectly cooked meat, but the rest was not up to my personal taste. Pollo Picante - now if there is one thing this restaurant cooks wells, it’s the chicken. The chicken is delicious and this for me was the best dish of the evening. Put a smile on my face and topped everything I tried. Yuca Frita - this was cassava wedges and was the first thing I tried and it was a lovely start. Tastes nice, soft on the inside and a lovely crust. Chocolate ice cream - tasted like it came out of a tub and didn’t bother me. A nice refreshing end. The atmosphere had a certain ambiance. The food is cooked insight and is brought out when it’s made. You order what you’d like and it arrives sporadically. One of the guys around the table has to wait until we had our 3rd or 4th dish for him to get his. The waiters seemed confused as to what dish was delivered. We had a halal eating member on our table but they twice got told “wait, I have your dish so not sure what you’ve been given” as similar looking dishes were mixed up. I won’t say how it ended. The staff were friendly and nice, always helpful too. All in all, I see the quirky side, the idea for service and the design of the menu but it wasn’t for me, and the rest of the team felt the same way. Nice to have experienced this restaurant but I can’t see myself coming again.

Chotto offers a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. While the food leans towards the commercial side without reaching exceptional heights, it satisfies. The service, however, stands out positively, earning the restaurant a solid 4-star rating.

It was a very nice evening with good food and prices over the top. The atmosphere and the service were excellent although we had to wait too long! But the service came to us regularly and apologized…so far so good. The sushi we ordered was a great quality and taste as expected but nothing special. So all in all it was a good visit with good food but overpriced for what it is.

Good mixture of Japanese and Peruvian food. We found all the dishes interesting. The price is on the high side compared to the potion. Still it's worth trying. Not a lot of vegetarian/vegan options though.

Arrived due to some recommendations from friends and we love Japanese food so had to try. The place is in a great location and has a great vibe, the toilet visit was a show🤭. The food is oriental and Spanish… but I think they over did it. Too many flavors in a dish. Such as lemon added to the creme brulee. But the cocktails were awesome!

Amazing experience at Chotto Matte. Staff were attentive and eager to ensure we picked a delicious combination of sharing plates. Sushi was ample and fresh. The best dish was the pulled mushroom tostadas which again were generously portioned. The atmosphere was perfect.

The food quality varied especially given the small portion sizes and price point. Between the three of us, we shared the Nikkei gyoza (good), yellowtail sashimi and tuna tataki (both ok), dragon roll, soft shell crab roll (both full of flavour), the pulpo (very salty and the flavour didn't work) and the Japanese soufflé cheesecake (not a standout). The cocktail I had (yuzu martini) was very good. The food was initially slow to arrive but overall our waiter was very friendly.

Enjoyed the sushi and the other Japanese flavours. The Argentinian flavoured dishes were slightly disappointing (tasted smoky and that was about it). Some of the food, such as steak and chicken dishes, came out lukewarm in temperature which was surprising given each dish is supposedly freshly cooked.

This is possibly my favourite restaurant. The food is stunning and the service is lovely. We've been a couple of times already and nothing has ever disappointed, although we like to book earlier in the day before it gets crazy busy. Their bottomless brunch is amazing and I recommend it to everyone.

Every single thing about this place is perfection. Every dish we ordered was so delicious and the service we received was incredible. Our waiter Sabi was so friendly and took such great care of us through the night and made it that much more of a memorable experience. The decor is so quirky and edgy. Ive just found my new favourite restaurant

Came here for an anniversary meal and we weren't disappointed. Tried the Nikkei #3 sharing menu which is reasonably good value for £75 per head. We certainly felt full by the end of the meal! Highlights were the ceviche and miso black cod - the cod was so tender it was sublime! Cocktails were also great and the service was attentive, friendly and fast. Comfortable seating and fun vibe with the volume just right to be able to enjoy both the music and conversation. The dessert platter was extremely generous with a bit of everything!

Excellent fusion Japanese and Peruvian food. Possibly the best we’ve had in London so far. Some really authentic Japanese flavours too. Definitely worth to revisit. Highly recommend the spicy tuna on deep fried rice nigiri, the deluxe sashimi platter and the slow cooked beef.

Really fresh tasting sushi, the platter is great and has a lot of unique flavours. We got the tasting menu, while it is a little pricey you will leave feeling quite full. The beef was a little overpowering after the sushi so I would maybe just get sushi in the future. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating, I asked if I could swap my edamame to the padron peppers and they were happy to do this! Overall a very good experience.

Amazing Nikkei cuisine in a lively atmosphere. We did the Chef Experience, which is a set menu where the chef comes out with every course to explain the dish. Really great experience and the food is super well balanced. Make sure you're hungry, the set menus are enormous!

All i can say is, magical experience. It was our first time ordering a tasting menu. Every food in the tasting menu is so delicious! The star of the tasting menu, personally, is Pollo den Miso and Pollo Picante. We told the waiter that we only eat halal, sadly not all in the tasting menu is halal. But they made sure to change the non-halal menu to the ones that we can eat! I would highly recommend to try their tasting menu, and surely coming back! The place is a bit dimmed, so dont forget to use flashlights cause you wont be the only ones ;)

What a lively experience. We went on the first Saturday after restriction were lifted, despite that the staff were really good. Its a very lively restaurant great for friends. If you want a quite place to eat this is not the place to go! The food is amazing! tired so many yummy dishes, great choice of cocktails too! Perfect for a great night out.

Food was nice but I didn’t find anything like special or mind blowing. The service was a bit off at the beginning but then a ginger tall (sorry I didn’t get his name) guy started and he was very attentive and friendly. It was expensive and I don’t think it was good value for money.

Go and treat yourself! Fantastic Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine with excellent vegan options. If you opt for the sharing menu - and 8+ courses menu you won’t go home hungry. Very attentive service and an upbeat vibe!

This restaurant has such a great selection of food and the food was really delicious. We had some spicy edamame, Spanish peppers, prawn spring rolls and wagyu beef gyozas for starters. The wagyu beef gyozas especially were some of the best I have ever tried, so rich in taste and seriously awesome. We ordered some sushi as well and it was amazing. The cocktails were also exquisite. I would have given this place a 4 or 5 star rating but here is the catch; we arrived around 18:30 for a reservation we made online. No one told us when we were entering that our reservation is for two hours. Given that it is Friday night, we ordered cocktails and starters and I specifically told our waiter we taking our time and he said of course. After that we ordered some sushi and we didn’t even finish our plates and they told us we have to give up the table since we are over time and they only have guests for 2 hours. That is acceptable if it was communicated but that’s not okay if it was not. After a lot of discussion for around 20 minutes, they agreed to let us stay for 15 minutes. An offer that we responded to by asking for the bill and leaving. The unprofessional way the staff dealt with the situation was unprecedented! We were looking forward to stay longer and try a lot more but now I won’t ever step in this place again and I think others should not bother either.

Food wasn’t great especially the beef tataki and when I mentioned that i didn’t like it the staff said there is nothing that we can do about it Atmosphere and ambiance is good but the food is below average not recommended

Very unique dining experience with exceptional food. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I wish the space between tables would be a bit bigger, it gets a bit crowded when full.

The place to experience London vibe while getting the best food experience. Special mention to Anna as she helped us carefully choosing the best dishes. Overall a great experience

What an absolutely cracking spot! Found totally by accident when looking for a quick pre dinner drink in Soho - attracted in by the colourful neon lights on the wall and cool looking interior. We loved it! Enjoyed two absolutely cracking, and very unusual cocktails and a couple of small sharing plates. Great atmosphere - even on a cold Monday night. The loos were very cool too. Liked it so much that we have booked for the whole family to come for the chef’s tasting in December! Loved it!

Usually I dine in Mayfair but tonight unexpectedly I ended in Soho so had to quickly find a sushi place and this place was on top of the Google list. The place has this tropical modern vibe and the stuff was really sweet. They are super fast and they are very friendly. A Special thanks I want to give to a young and very smart girl called Rubi. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Excellent Spanish-Japanese fusion! We thoroughly enjoyed all their dishes. ✨ Highlights & would recommend: - Black cod miso (classic!) - Padron peppers (amazing miso glaze) - Sea bass ceviche - Yellowtail sashimi - Salted caramel chocolate fondant (must try) Also good but nothing spectacular: - Ribeye steak - Purple potato mash Overall great atmosphere & its a good place to “wow” a guest visiting London. Excellent for couples and can cater larger groups too! It is slightly on the pricier side & if you don’t mind slow service.

The entire dining experience was exceptional! We were served with kindness and the staff shared their knowledge of the food and pairings. They recommended 5-6 dishes per person and we left very full so I would say 4-5 depending on what you ordered. We ordered 2-3 dishes from each section of the a la carte menu. What we really enjoyed: La Chakana cocktail Otoro Aburi nigiri Black cod ahi miso Arroz chaufa Yellowtail Nikkei Sashimi Maguro tuna nigiri &Otoro nigiri We wouldn’t get the Wagyu beef gyoza or the Spicy chicken karage again because it was not worth the price for the taste and wasn’t as unique as the other parts of the order. The sushi quality and ingredients were fresh and dressed to perfection. We didn’t try the tasting menu but would definitely try it next time. Would 100% come back here.

The venue is lovely, the music was great and the food was exceptional, however we had a few issues with the service. Firstly, our waiter disappeared after bringing us some of our food and never came back. When I queried it with another member of staff (after waving wildly several times at other staff), he laughed and said "oh well you have a new one now". For the prices you pay in a premium venue, this is not good enough. I would have expected a handover before he left. I made him reduce the standard tip from 15% to less than that, as I was not impressed. Secondly, he failed to mention that if you order 4 or 5 things, they all come at the same time and don't fit on the table, so they nearly knocked our wine off the table trying to squeeze everything in. I would have ordered in batches of 2-3 things if I had been alerted. Lastly, the chairs are also extremely uncomfortable, but when I asked for a small cushion, they didn't have anything available.

Had a perfect night at Chotto Matte, it’s nice to go to a restaurant and actually have good food. Often going to places a bit more expensive the food doesn’t match up to the price but the food here was delicious, the decor was lovely and the staff are exceptional. Would definitely return and will be recommending it to my friends. Every dish was 10/10 which doesn’t happen often. If you ordered any or all of the dishes we got you’ll absolutely love them. Otherwise, the staff can make recommendations based on your preferences.

Booked here very last minute (morning of) via phone call and they were lovely - felt lucky for a Saturday evening! I booked initially for 7 but had extras come along which they graciously accommodated for. It was for my birthday and our main waiter who took care of us, Ilyas, was great! He explained everything well and was attentive in service. All the waiting staff were lovely. I got 2 sparkler candles with my desserts for my birthday like I asked and can say my guests and I all enjoyed the food immensely and some have already said they will be returning soon. I loved the octopus most and the purple mash was delicious! Passionfruit creme brulee was divine and I sneaked a taste of my husband's magic chocolate ball dessert and highly recommend this also! Also as I don't drink alcohol, the mocktail selection was great!

Went here for a birthday celebration with friends. We chose various items from the menu and the menu was good, music was loud. All items come out at different times and some items were cold. The padron peppers, lychee ceviche, mushroom tostadas were great. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. One major negative point is that if you bring a cake from outside then they charge you a cake-age fee of £5 per person and this is not mentioned anywhere until you turn up to the restaurant. Definitely not worth the money. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t rush back here.

Amazing food and drinks, very creative menu and fresh food. Great service, staff are very friendly and the overall atmosphere is nice. Located in the heart of Soho and srounded by many bars. Recommend booking in advance as it can get very busy.

Excellent service, all clean. And the food was delicious. I highly recommend the experience, especially the house beer. I have to say that I really enjoyed the sushi that they caramelize with fire on the table. I have no doubt that I will go again.
