Best of old world British character! It’s the oldest pub in Covent Garden! Must go, great atmosphere… watch you’re head!

My favourite pub in Covent Garden! Grade Il listed, the building dates from the early 18th century and became a pub in 1772. It was refaced in brick in the late fifties, which explains its more modern look. Steeped in history; Charles Dickens was once a patron, and it was once nicknamed “The Bucket of Blood", due to the bare knuckle boxing bouts held upstairs. The pub serves a good range of well-kept ales, and staff and customers are friendly. Highly recommended.

I booked this place because they offer scotch eggs. Every food was very delicious, they have many kinds of local ales. The ground floor (pub area) was packed with locals, but first floor(dining area) was quiet and had friendly atmosphere.

Nice pub, has a lot of history. It's mentioned in a lot of beer guides for a visit and I agree it should be a stop for folks who like a good pub. We had a few pints and Sunday roast. I liked the pub and beers, but was not that impressed with the Sunday roast, I've definitely had better. However, I would definitely have a few pints in here to soak up the old feeling atmosphere, worth a stop.

Nice cozy pub in Convent Garden. They had an amazing Tiny Rebel British IPA called Yippee Try-yay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We didn't have anything to eat but they do serve food if you fancy something to eat

My favorite pub in London. I've been coming here for more than 25 years. Only 25% of the London taxi drivers know where it is without giving the street address. This means it is not packed full of tourists, but it is still busy with locals. Wonderful selection of cask beer. Staff is always friendly.

My Mum stumbled across this beautifully hidden little gem of a pub near Covent Gardens and we decided to pop in and have a drink. Lovely warm friendly welcome and service, quite a bit of seating downstairs inside - think there was also seating upstairs but didn't go up. We had the best two pints of Guinness I think I've tasted in a long time, it was a Friday afternoon and fairly busy but quickly got served and got a seat by the window hatch. Really lovely atmosphere, would very easily come back here again especially as the Guinness is so good!

Amazing lively atmosphere at the bottom of the pub. When we got upstairs for dinner, it was quiet and a great experience! Staff was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful for all that they had going on! The fish and chips are a must. The added curry sauce was flavourful and rich. Incredible experience and would definitely recommend!

Not only their vibe but the food here is amazing!! (Especially fish n chips!) Visited on Friday night when it was really crowded, but still had a bit of seats left inside lucky to eat in without booking.

Love this place tucked away down a side alley. Well worth a look. I've been here a number of times yet never sat inside, always had drinks outside even in winter. Ads to the charm of the place to be able to street drink. Pub has not been modernised which is fantastic and there are always plenty of real ales to choose from. Highly recommended.

We visited lamb and flag to have a Sunday roast. We had a booking at 6 pm. Nobody has greeted us and we were left to find the table on our own. Once seated down we ordered drinks. Within next 20mins we wanted to order our food. While telling the server our order we were told that there was only one roast left. This was a huge disappointment but my colleagues ordered other items. Within next 10 minutes my colleague asked for fries-we we’re told kitchen is closed-it was 6:30pm. Once we finally received our food the sever did the check back before I even had 2 mouthfuls of my meal. I could not eat it. Cauliflower was super soggy full of water, meat was so dry it tasted microwaved, potatoes were so salty I could not even eat it. The whole meal was luke warm. Once we spoken to the server he refused to take my meal of the bill even though 3/4 of the meal was not touched saying he did the check back. Paid 17£ for not even having my dinner and had to go somewhere else to actually eat something today. Absolutely horrible experience disgraceful service ! Will not be returning. I would rather eat a tesco meal deal before having to return here!

Amazing historical pub in the heart of Covent Garden. Here you can 100% breath the London vibe having a beer at the ground floor (with a great variety and selection of beers), or you can get a more private atmosphere at the first floor restaurant where you will be blown away by one of the best Sunday roast ever in London. Desserts are amazing too! Definitely a must for Londoners and tourists.

The atmosphere of this pub was amazing. Cozy and comfy inside with really cool decor around the place. The drinks were nice and the fish and chips were alright, nothing amazing but still tasty. The portion was huge though so bonus points for that!

Very cozy pub, with great atmosphere. A lot of people already at opening. Good selection of drinks. Upstairs is a very nice dining room and great food and service.

Small little pub, nestles away off the busy surrounding area. A must visit for tourists in the area wanting an authentic British pub feel. Very limited seating outdoors but can stand on the street with your drink. Limited seating indoors. Good selection of drinks and beers on off. Few cask and craft beers available too

I took someone here for their first Sunday lunch and they loved it! I had the chicken and stuffing roast, they had the beef roast and we shared some Marmite roast potatoes. The staff were very friendly, and even though the dining room upstairs is quite small it wasn't too noisy nor too dark, and had a good atmosphere.

Great pub. Traditional downstairs bar, restaurant upstairs. Cask beer in good condition. Great service. Excellent Sunday roast. Surprisingly reasonable pricing for central London. Recommended.

I just loved the setting, you can feel the history. And very clean for a pub. The Sunday roast was incredibly delicious and also a generous portion.

Okay! We stumbled upon this pub by chance and boy are we happy we did! The drinks were stiff and inexpensive and the food was spectacular! The Fish and chips and scotch eggs are to die for. The pub is super old and embodies everything London. Can’t wait to go back.

Great food. Not just ‘decent for a pub’ but really good. We had the corn fed chicken with mash and greens and steak pie. Good beer selection. Always crowded, and gets very hot inside but it’s historic and in this area every good place is crowded all day!

Yes, my shoes stuck to the floor (slightly) and the place gave an auru that many pints had been consumed (and spilled), which is exactly what I expected from a 400 year old Coveant Garden bar. It has personality, friendly service, and charm. We enjoyed a slow sit down pint in the afternoon, but it seemed like a great pub crawl stop. If in the area and the crowds were away, I would stop by again.

A historical pub with a solid Sunday roast. Good, but not exceptional. The sirloin and chicken lathered with the rich sauce was delish, but what the heck was wrong with the potatoes? They were rock-hard and inedible. Luckily, we also ordered the fish and chips and onion fries. Salvation. Service was prompt and friendly.

Classic pub tucked away in Covent Garden. We say upstairs on a busy Saturday and enjoyed a couple of pints and some bar snacks. Probably on the top end for pricing, but the pigs in blankets were good as was there. Big vibes downstairs and out the front.

Having been to many a pub (as a student in London and then as a necessary after work break!), I've found that the best pubs have good food, fantastic staff, and comfortable surroundings to drink and unwind in. The Salutation definitely comes up tops for all these things! I've never been in here without the staff taking care to make sure I feel welcomed as well as making sure they get my order spot on. The food here is great and of an evening the music rocks! If you're ever looking for a place in London to welcome you and that can come to feel like home, this is it..

Drinking in one of the oldest pubs in London is always a joy. It was a small, quaint pub located in Covent Garden and served a decent pint. If you are looking to stop off for a drink or two whilst in Covent Garden I’d recommend here - literally you step off street into a calm and relaxed dimension of the otherwise hectic London streets.

We ate in the upstairs dining room. Great food!! The lamb saugess are the best. We also enjoyed the triple fried chips! It gets crowded so reservation might be a good idea.

Nice pub at Camden. A bit small inside but plenty of standing place outside as it is located in an enclave. Good choice of beers. Good prices. Nice place to meet with friends whwn in the area

Very historic pub in Covent Garden. The interior is very traditional. Fuller’s pubs are pretty reliable, with good food and range of beers. The food was quite pricey, at £17 for fish and chips, but reflective of the part of London.
