I had surgery here and the facilities are very new and sparkly and the hospital rooms could easily pass for a fancy hotel. Unfortunately, the client care was poor, post-op care was poor, the hospital admin lacked organisation. After surgery, I was the one who constantly had to chase the hospital for follow up appointments. I wouldn’t recommend because I felt like a product in a factory assembly line. Very quick to operate on you and then just get rid of you with no follow up or care. Also very surprised to see another reviewer saying that they experienced a reaction to the anaesthesia because I had the same thing and it was just shrugged off.

If you need to go private to check your spine or shoulder issues, we recommend Dr. Natali and Dr. DiMascio, Schoen clinic now Fortius clinic. Dr. Natali assisted one of our staff with an agonising hip pain in the past by diagnosing the correct affected areas which otherwise went 1 year misdiagnosed and treated improperly, he also later assisted writing to the GP on complex issues and direct the surgery to be able to obtain a further direct orthopedic referral on the NHS, which otherwise the GP would have not actioned. Dr. DiMascio was clear and concise about shoulder issue and took considerable time explaining the reasons behind slow recovery, treatments and recurring symptoms, this was invaluable to one of our staff with shoulder issues in choosing treatment, managing expectations and exercise routines.

This review is for the administration, not the health professionals, which I will post separately. I attended for a consultation on 14th March and paid an invoice that day which I was led to believe covered everything. At the end of July I was chased for an outstanding invoice of £400 for two x-rays which was supposedly raised on 15th March. I queried it, but to no avail. And only today have I finally received the actual invoice, 5 months late! In view of my being originally misinformed and the delay in providing the invoice, a small reduction? Not a chance!

I wouldn’t go there again. Booked a 30 minute consultation with a consultant. Although I was on time I waited about 30 minutes and then I was with the consultant less than 20 minutes. He hadn’t even looked at my MRI in advance or read my notes. So spent 10 minutes explaining my situation. He looked at my MRI for less than a minute and did a very rushed physical examination less than 5 minutes. Was a total waste of my time. Then after I received notes and recommendations by email in a weird format which I could not open. I emailed telling the sender I can’t open or read the notes. Completely ignored, so I withheld payment. They issued no reminder or written request, simply setting a very aggressive debt collection company on to me. So without a polite reminder to pay and WITHOUT giving the advice/medical report I was paying for. Set a debt collection company onto the patient who has not received the service he was supposed to be paying for. I shall now make a formal complaint to the regulator of private medical services and behave in equally aggressive manner.

Had a microdisectomy and decompression here last week. Absolutely fantastic care from everyone: anaesthetist, surgeon (Ramsey Chamma) and all the nurses and physio. I only stayed one night but felt well looked after.

Absolutely terrible. Didn’t help my knee at all. Left in the waiting room for 50mins for appt. Then I apparently had £12 bill outstanding. I had a baby. Then I find out they’ve passed the £12 bill to a debt collector who has rolled it up and added a load of fees.

Had consultations and surgery with Mr Johan Witt - a brilliant surgeon with a track record for excellent outcomes. My 4 day stay at the hospital was impeccable - almost made major surgery feel like a hotel mini-break, wonderful caring staff.

I am so grateful to the Schoen Clinic in Wigmore Street for the amazing care and attention I received in February this year when I had a total hip replacement with Mr Johan Witt. Mr Witt could not have been attentive to my needs and concerns and never got fed up with too many silly questions in advance of the operation. My care in hospital was absolutely first class and I was visited very quickly after the op by both Mr Witt and the anaesthetist to check on my progress. The physio was first class too. My recovery has been amazing. As Mr Witt assured me I would be, I am back to running pain free and am training for the London Marathon in October (almost exactly eight months post op). Hooray for the Schoen Clinic! I could not recommend them more highly. Janie

After being treated for an acute slipped disc, I thought sharing my experience could benefit other patients with similar conditions, as I was looked after like royalty. This hospital is fantastic. An absolute 5* service on all levels. I recently stayed 3 nights and had major surgery. The staff are fantastic, friendly professional and knowledgeable. Nothing is too much trouble. Even the lovely catering lady went out of her way to get me eating and drinking after surgery. The medical staff,physios and doctors are fantastic. so grateful not only for the medical treatment but the fact it was here that I was fortunate enough to have my surgery. Absolutely 10/10. It's taken me almost 1 year to write this review, but my hope is that it will inform you on your decision to undergo a potentially life changing decision. I had a knee procedure done at this facility with Dr. Rajaratnam in 2021. Unfortunately I avoided a number of red flags throughout my journey including i) poor administrative staff - double booking appointments, not coordinating w insurance ii) overconfident surgeon that showed little interest in physical review iii) copied on the email of another patient wrt their procedure (i.e., evident privacy risk). The surgeon overpromised and underdelivered - if you're desperate and have had chronic issues, it is very easy to want to believe. Subsequent to the procedure I had experienced a reaction to the anesthesia - I was told that their team overlooked the potential reaction to the combination of two different substances and that I should take solace in the fact that they've adjusted this for future patients. 10 months later the general consensus from other doctors is that I will need to do an additional procedure and that the prior one only set me further back. It's a beautiful facility with well designed rooms, but please take it from my experience and go to a different facility - your health is not worth taking the chance.

I had a good experience with Dr Carlos for MRI scans and follow-up appointments. However, the billing team and administration is very unorganized and has caused me a huge amount of stress and suffering. I am a full yinsured patient and they have been unable to submit my invoices to correct insurers, failed to communicate with me when my insurance companies have missed something, and start chasing down payments of plus 2 years old using debt collection agencies. Beware, stay away from the Schoen Clinics as they are very unprofessional. Have never experienced anything quite like this. In April 2023, a debt collection agency contacted me saying invoice over due with Schoen Clinic. I was shocked as my insurance company should have settled this 1 year ago. Cigna subseqeuntly settled the bill quickly on my behalf once I took lead on it. To be clear, I never recieved one piece of communication from Schoen Clinic saying the bill had not been settled by my insurance company and they went straight to debt collection agency even though I have a long history with the clinic as an insured patient. In November 2023, I get contacted again by a debt collection agency. Schoen were unable to tell me in April 2023 that there was also £175 invoice and a fee of £100 that had not been paid by Axa in 2020. Clearly at this point I am losing all hope with the Schoen Clinic and am insulted that they would raise these trivial amounts via agency this long ago. I struggle to even remember what they are for, have not recieved invoices and to make matters worse you cant even contact somebody in person to talk to about it.

What an excellent experience I had at Schoen Clinic London last week for my C6/C7 ACDF procedure. The level of professionalism and patient care is exceptionally high. What can be a scary time with surgery, I felt very confident, safe and very well looked after. I cannot praise the medical consultants and staff enough who looked after me, I mean every single person was fantastic. Thank you very much!!

I feel so grateful that I was able to have my hip replacement here at the Schoen Clinic. Everyone from my consultant Mr Bacarese-Hamilton who was so kind and patient...to Pedro and the other nursing staff and the lovely lady ( sorry I don't know her name)who brought me my delicious meals! Completely impressed by my visit to the Schoen clinic, my consultant Dr Ng was understanding of my needs and really thorough, taking the time to explain things clearly and alleviate any concerns. The nursing and reception staff were also fantastic, so warm and welcoming! Definitely felt like I was in good hands.

On 2 September 2021 I attended the Schoen Clinic for a complete knee replacement surgery. I had undertaken a considerable amount of research before attending and found that Mr Sam Rajaratnam and Dr Barry Phillips were a strong partnership and together with their team focus on both early recovery and pain management. I was not disappointed with the results and outcome. The journey of surgery and pain was a frightening thought but these guys and the nursing team were all very helpful and professional in overcoming my concerns. The attention I received (including the standard of the food) from highly professional staff was excellent and now 2 weeks after surgery I am almost pain free and walking without crutches or sticks. Thank you to you all at the Schoen Clinic for my treatment of the best from the best.

I had ACL surgery here 2 weeks ago. Exceptional place with exceptional staff from the lift porter to the Surgeon and everyone in between. Everyone is highly skilled, attentive and caring..I didnt want to leave.

My father-in-law flew in from Karachi to have treatment with Dr Kumar Kunasingam. The pre and post surgery experience has been second to none, the facilities are fantastic and the staff extremely professional. Thank you very much @Schoen Clinic and @Dr Kunasingam.

My mum in her late 70's had a huge bunion on her right foot which was causing significant pain, blisters, callouses and had distorted her foot to the point that her 2nd toe was crossing over her big toe. She was cancelling holidays because she couldn't walk very far and was struggling to find comfortable shoes of any kind. Despite how debilitating this was to her quality of life, she feared traditional bunion resection surgery more. The usual stories of significant pain post surgery, plus being laid up for up to 3 months was not something she felt she could cope with. I didn't push her to go ahead with surgery, until I discovered that Mr Kumar Kunasingham at the Schoen Clinic London was offering a new minimally invasive key hole surgical technique for bunions. Day case, not in patient & walking the same day. Given the look of my mum's foot it was hard to believe that any surgeon could make it look anything approaching normal and let alone have her walking on it the same day. Mum had her surgery 5 weeks ago. She was indeed able to walk the same day, ditched her crutches on day 2 and didn't need much by way of pain relief. I have to say it's been really transformational for her. She and I saw her follow up X rays today and it's incredible to see how straight her foot looks. Her surgeon Mr Kumar Kunasingham was nothing short of fantastic. He's a first rate surgeon with excellent interpersonal skills. Cannot rate this hospital or Mr Kumar Kunasingham highly enough. Everyone at the hospital was amazingly kind and really professional.

I recently had a hip replacement operation at the Schoen Clinic performed by Hugh Apthorp..I cannot recommend him highly enough.I was walking unaided from day one & experienced no pain at all.after the operation just some stiffness which is already wearing off.The Schoen Clinic was excellent with great staff & care.All in all a very good experience

February 2019 - I had a disc replacement in my neck under Hanny Anwar and he was superb. Excellent consultations beforehand where everything was explained clearly and patiently. He took as much time as I needed. The operation turned out to be quite difficult apparently as my disc had attached itself to the outside layer around the spinal cord but he managed to extract it. Also excellent and friendly care from the nurses and catering team. A really great experience and feeling great post surgery. August 2019 - Have now also had a lumbar decompression under Hanny Anwar. As with neck, terrific care and experience. Schoen and Hanny are brilliant at what they do, I'd highly recommend both. Neck also going from strength to strength six months on.

5 and a half years ago I was hit by agonising pain in my leg which left me on the floor, unable to walk or stand for long at all. Therein followed a journey where I encountered a number of so called specialists, surgeons, physio's, pain management experts etc, all who failed to find a solution. Only after a consultation with the fabulous Joel Proskewitz at Performance RX was I introduced to Colin Natali at the Schoen (now Fortius Clinic) in London. Colin was fantastic from day 1. He knows his stuff. Period. But he also insisted we tried everything before going down the surgery route. That was always a last resort. He is not the type of guy that will just cut you open and hope for the best. Months later following detailed investigation (and a continuing debilitating pain) however, we opted for surgery and I underwent a 2 stage, 2 level fusion at the Clinic. All of the staff involved were absolutely fantastic. The facilities are superb, even the food is great. Colin himself is an absolute legend. Aside from his great humour and superb bedside manner, his professionalism is second to none. I can walk again, I can stand again, I have my life back. I would not hesitate for 1 minute to recommend this man and the Schoen/Fortius Clinic. Fantastic quality.

Do not recommend. Very unprofessional. Cancelled two appointments without rationale (doctor unavailable - twice - what’s the point in having appointments??) and with complete disregard for my own schedule or the pain that I am in. Go somewhere else!!!

Excellent , fantastic caring staff. Surgeon Mr Cummings treated us with respect , thoughtfulness and involved myself and my husband together and answered all our questions with honesty and this was just a consultation .

just had a THR at this modern clean clinic in wigmore street although it is so quiet you could be in the middle of the country. tom pollard and the anaesthetis were so caring and helpful addressing all my concerns especially about anaesthesia and the best approach for myself. the procedure went smoothly and everything was explained and the staff all introduced themselves to me and what they could help me with. clinic was spotless - cleaning non stop but discretely. food very good. all staff could not do enough - any request met with good attitude and help. everything going well and would recommend tom pollard and his team to everyone from the first contact at the clinic to the moment i was put in the taxi to go home. thanks to all the team. lh

Recently took my mum to the clinic and had a very pleasant experience. Siham Awadalla, Liaison Manager, was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. She helped book in a consultation with Dr Sweetnam who was very patient, personable and informative. Overall great service from the team all round. I definitely recommend this clinic.

I had knee surgery with Dr Sam Rajaratnam at the Schoen Clinic in March. One month later I am walking again and functioning normally. The surgery was successful and I'm very happy with the results. The Schoen Clinic is modern and clean, and staff are polite and helpful. From initial assessment and MRI to post op consultation review, scheduling and appointments at Schoen were a breeze. I would highly recommend Dr Rajaratnam and the Schoen Clinic, and will be back for back orthopedic care in the future.

I needed a new knee! Fortunately, a friend of mine recommended Mr Sam Rajaratnam, who had operated on his knee a few months previously. I then arranged a consultation with Sam at the Schoen Clinic when he recommended a full knee replacement. Any concerns I had were soon dispelled as Sam reassured me by explaining exactly what was involved with the procedure and answered all my questions in a very considerate manner. He also recommended an excellent physiotherapist for post-operative treatment. 2 weeks ago, Sam replaced my right knee at the Schoen Clinic. I cannot praise, too highly, Sam and the team who looked after me at the Clinic. From my first consultation, to the operation itself and the subsequent after care I received at the Schoen; everything was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending The Schoen and Sam Rajaratnam to anyone needing these specialist services.

I recently had knee replacement surgery at the Schoen Clinic, beautifully appointed new hospital. Every aspect of patient treatment was superlative, wonderful nursing and care from every member of staff including excellent catering. The surgery was delivered by Mr Sam Rajaratnam. Together with anaesthetist Dr Barry Phillips, they have spear headed a brilliant scientifically nuanced programme of balanced pain control designed to enable pain free mobility and strength from Day 1. Magnificent follow up with Mr Rajaratnam and Dr Phillips visiting post surgery on Day 1, two visits on Day 2 by Dr Phillips with a comprehensive chart listing detailed breakdown of the drug package involved in recovery, with a further visit by both on the final day of hospitalisation. Patient fully included and involved in the process of recovery throughout.

Fantastic facilities great customer service, good team of surgeons and consultants, pleased to hear Mrs Anne Mitchener consultant Neurosurgeon is there she is one of the best. Highly recommend Mr Ian Hamilton orthopaedic and trauma surgeon he has a lovely manner and he has been very helpful to me and knows his stuff and not just orthopaedic.

Fantastic clinic. Staff are incredibly friendly, consultants are brilliant and really take the time to listen and talk you through your results and next steps. Immaculate and state of the art facilities! My spinal procedure was conducted perfectly with a wonderful team of friendly and professional staff. The brilliant Kumar Kunasingam has recently performed a keyhole calcaneal osteotomy plus double ligament reconstruction on my left ankle and heel. After years of problems and discomfort, he's fixed me! He's an absolutely first class surgeon, a pioneer in his specialism and an extremely nice person. I cannot rate a consultant more highly. The Schoen Clinic is superb, more like a hotel. The staff, accommodation, food etc make the Schoen Clinic the best private hospital I've attended.

The staff is absolutely A*, friendly, helpful and professional. Did not meet a single person not living up to this high standard. Went in for a full MOT on my knee (ACL damage , torn ligament) After almost two weeks post surgery I can safely say my knee is recovering day by day & it has not fallen off :) Thank to the attentive staff & thank you to the Surgeons @Dr Sweetnam & the chap that put me to sleep. I was lucky to be referred to Schoen Clinc, and I am grateful that I was seen by Mr Ian Bacarese-Hamilton, consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who treated me with high respect and professionalism, he is a great imminent Surgeon to whom I will be thankful all my life. The staff at Schoen Clinic are very kind and helpful with high level of kindness and nursing attitudes, I am highly grateful to their treatment to me.

My very first experience with this clinic is bad. I can recall i was with an emergency patient waiting at the first floor, even when our appointment time is 11 we stayed for more hours with the emergency patient who's under an excruciating pain, while the receptionist, doctors never cared to attend to us. It's very sad they did this based on their lack of interest in treating people of color the same. Very bad,sad and unforgettable experience.

It was now a year since my operation with Peter Hamlyn for severe Sciatica. I’m not totally back to normal. Totally outstanding! Thanks to all at the clinc!

I saw physio TJ Salih who was very knowledgeable, attentive, and just a really nice guy. I feel like he diagnosed my problem accurately. Would highly based on that interaction.

I had a total knee replacement in December 2021. I cannot fault the efficiency of the clinic and the tremendous care I received both whilst in hospital and afterwards. Everyòne: Sam Rajanatram and Barry Philips and the whole team was consistently helpful, informative, patient and caring. I hope I won't need them again, but would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone who does need knee surgery.

The facilities were clean, modern, and were of a high standard. It was the most comfortable stay, given an operation. Mr Bacarese-Hamilton is not only a true professional in his field, he is also approachable, totally reassuring and caring. Lorraine the nurse (such a professional) and all her team that looked after me, were truly wonderful. I would highly recommend this hospital in every way. Well done guys! What incredible service.
