I visited my friend today, I was barely greeted by a staff member. As soon as I walked into the ward a staff member was arguing shouting at a patient which is appalling behaviour. The staff are employed to look after the patients not retaliate by arguing back. This is highly unprofessional and not the environment anyone with mental health issues should be in. It is evident that the majority of the staff do not care about the patients and it is simply just a job to them. When I approached the reception of the ward I was greeted by a female staff member with β€˜yes?’ Not hello or hi or how can I help you, but β€˜yes?’ Like I and the patient were an annoyance and something she couldn’t be bothered to deal with. It was disgusting behaviour. In my opinion 90% of the staff should be fired. This whole establishment is corrupt. My friend, the patient , has a video of the receptionist swearing at him and making horrific comments about his mother. He will be submitting this to appropriate authorities. This place needs to be shown to the public for what it really is. There is no care and no system to help the people in there. No therapist, no activities for inpatients. Additionally half of the staff don’t speak very good English. The patients should be surrounded with caring nurses. this place even as a visitor made me feel unheard and insignificant. Disgusting toxic people it disheartens me that our tax money is going into the pockets of these so called nhs nurses. How anyone is supposed to heal in this place is beyond me.

A disgusting hell hole of abuse. Avoid this facility and this NHS TRUST at all costs. This is not a hospital this is a detainment facility run by a 100% corrupt organisation who's only concern is covering up abuse and wrong doing by staff. Avoid all contact with the CNWL NHS. They are destroyers of lives who use the stigma of mental health against patients and family who dare to make complaints against them. This organisation should be shut down and the CE Claire Murdoch should be prosecuted.

This isn't a hospital it's a detainment centre. If you are an informal patient and they don't allow you to leave you can call the CQC and even the police. This hospital has been on special measures in the past so beware. The CNWL London has detained people here illegally. The staff are unethical. Avoid at all cost. Know your rights...I would only trust the independent health advocates that visit there. My opinion is that this facility is a total disgrace.

A disgusting s*** hole!!!!! Doesn't deserve any stars at all!!! Would of rather been on the streets. I had to wait for transport to arrive all the way from Essex to be taken 10 minutes to where I was being moved to (here). The staff member was doing an assessment and fell asleep while talking to me and was snoring really loud. She then did my blood pressure but put the wrap thing around my elbow and wondered why it wasn't working, she didn't know how to use any of the equipment and kept falling asleep. Their toilets that everyone has to share, I kid you not is covered in piss and feces. The rooms look like a prison cell with a bed and a sink (blue button is for hot water and the red for cold, like how does that even make sense?) I told the staff I needed medication to sleep as I hadn't been given anything and my room smells bad, the paint is peeling, the walls are covered in actual s*** stains; they said they would give me medication but made me wait hours and when I asked again, they said I wasn't allowed any as it was too late. I asked a staff member if I could charge my phone in my room as I had a very short cable (which was allowed in st charles' mental health unit) she shouted at me and said I wasn't allowed and I answered back by saying what was the point of having sockets in the rooms? She took my phone off of me (I thought she put it on charge) but found out the next day that she confiscated my phone. I literally decided I'd rather pee in a Costa cup in the corner of my room than pee in their bathroom. I hadn't eaten for two days and asked if I could have a biscuit or something and they said it was my fault I wasn't in my room at lunch time even though I was in a meeting with the doctors. Apperantly they're not allowed to give out wipes, I've been waiting to talk to someone for 4 hours but the staff are legit arguing with each other really loudly in front of everyone "dont talk to me, stay away from me" "I'm sorry but we work with each other, you have to talk to me, how dare you walk away from me" "I said get away from me, I dont want to talk to you" actual staff members arguing. They neglet and swear at patients too. They said my mum wasnt allowed to visit me but my room is in front of the reception and my mum walked into my room, they're so rude and unprofessional, I'm sure prison is way nicer than here.

I had the misfortune to be in this place for only a few hours, I was a voluntary patient and was taken here because my local trust apparently did not have any rooms. I knew places like this existed but did not appreciate how things are run... or not as the case maybe. The radiators where on full blast on a day when outside was already in excess of 25c, despite complaining it did no good, they knew of the fault but no one was interested, one or two of the orderly's where not interested and sat on their mobiles and did not pay attention as to what was going on when another inmate kept hassling me. I collapsed with heat stroke and was taken away by ambulance to St Thomas's and thank god they kept me in and then discharged me home. This place radically needs a review and should not be allowed to operate, it has left me traumatised for the few short hours I was there, never again, I wish the people that run it could be held to account, its abhorrent what goes on in there, people I think if they knew would be mortified, I hope that some one reviews this place and the truth comes out ASAP, close it now or get new managers in ASAP

Strongly not recommended 1.Receptionist has a bad attitude and makes decisions without knowing the whole thing. 2.Not updating information in a timely manner, ignorant of the content of NHS notifications, extremely unprofessional. But thank god, the NHS information registrars are very friendly. IF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS, DON'T COME.

I had to raise a complaint to the NHS in an attempt to get treated, and they're ignoring my emails and phone calls altogether. Appalling.

Nice and polite employees! Went to show evidence of vaccination received abroad to update the NHS record and was offered a booster jab at the same time. A person helping me was really sweet!

Absolutely a nightmare this is a few years later and it still scares me. I have bipolar 1 and lost my 12 year old son ..ended up homeless streets of London.. a doctor in a homeless centre though he was doing good . Got me off the streets he was worried .. I wasn't but it was near the end .. so he got me into the only place he could GORDON'S. I would love to speak to anyone who had a time like me I had a very lucky escape. I was sectioned because I stood up fir an elderly nan with extreme mental health issues... luckily I have photos and videos of my room I was sectioned in with numerous and very easy ways to comit suaside... I got out because of this and put up in a b and b ... I still have videos and photos This is not a mental health hospital it's mental torture and is all staff want to do is drug you up so they don't have to care for you

Was there nearly a year, they refused me leave on my 21st birthday then one male nurse told me not to go down male area when I asked why he replied with you will get raped and I will be jealous, when gone to report it to manager I was told by a support worker that I should tell him because he was manager even though he wasn't also my laptop and mobile were stolen and nothing happened.

The word Barbaric is too kind. These guys should be in prison for what they do to people. Disgusting. Avoid at all costs. If you're having mental problems, go try Dianetics counselling, it'll blow you away!!! If you had a negative experience here; write to CCHR - they'll prosecute them for free. Terrible!

This place should be demolished. I was a visitor to a Patient, the Staff laughed and ignored me. When A fight broke out, I ran yelling to get help from staff from staff room, they ignored me and kept talking. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE ILLEGAL.

Staff abuse patients and are very rude and impolite. The staff should be patients themselves.

This place should be closed, I have not paid national insurance for 30 years to be treated so badly. coercion, forced detainment, forced medication and Nil treatment, Noisy, unsafe, badly run, This is what the Government say they are pledged to change, well change it CLOSE this hell hole. And to others that have suffered here, come out the closet and say how bad your experience was, IT IS TIME TO CHANGE lets change it.

The Gordon hospital is the worst hospital in the world, the staff abuse psycologicly and phisicly patients, use the nhs money for their own purposes and threaten you often i was there for four months and they did all this to me and others,to top it all off they stole my money and stopped me talking to loved ones, should be closed down and staff there should be jailed when i think of what a great system we used to have in England now this no thanks stop the abuse..

UK psychiatry er blitt the anti-christ, and Gordon Sjukehuset is """living""" proof. But , BUT, by UK Standards it is really in the top - best 10% of """Care""" facilities. I suggest that if you want mental health care....you first become an EEA-qualified resident in Norway. Here are some star ratings Tromsoe Hosp 19 Trondhjem Hosp 19 Stavanger Hosp 18 Gordon Hosp 11 Uned Llanfair cf642xx Wales 3 Princess Alexandra Essex 7 Claybury (long closed thank CHRIST) 3 . 😠 Worst service system I have ever seen. 7 hours of waiting when you feel bad and no one helps. The janitor who screams and after mopping the floor puts the doormat next to you on the chair.
