While the medical staff and medical treatment were very good overall, the room facilities leave a lot to be desired. The room I got was not representative of what you see in the marketing publications, internet site, or glossy brochures. It was a room with no natural light at all, it had a window that backed onto the core of the building as shown in the photo and was overall pretty grim. When I asked to be moved to another room I was advised that "this is the room you've got so there you go". The porter, who was actually training another person accompanying us at the time, then left me in the room to get ready for my surgery. It was only when I left to the room on my way back down to reception did I get someone to listen to me. I was moved round the corner to another room which was much the same (no window, no natural light) but as I was a day case I just decided to get it over with. A surgical visit should be as stress-free as possible and this was far from that. If a room can't offer daylight or natural light, it should not be offered as a patient room for a surgical stay. Overall, not recommended at all and management should consider the suitability of some of the rooms that fall well below what one would expect from a organisation "at the forefront of world-class private healthcare."

I have been here multiple times for surgery (an unfortunate recurring condition) and have had wildly different experiences each time. I have given four stars as overall it's been positive, most staff have been friendly and caring, and the rooms are very nice indeed. However I've also had negative experiences in the past, for example I woke up in the night in pain - this was my first night recovering from surgery - but when I simply asked the nurse on duty for another dose of painkillers she just laughed and said "you're playing me" before walking out. If my head was more together I would have asked for her full name but sadly as this was the middle of the night after just having surgery and in severe pain I didn't think to do that, in fact I was almost frozen and stunned a nurse would act like that. On another occasion I'd already given them a list of my medications multiple times, notably one of them has a severe interaction with tramadol: grand mal seizures. But what did they try to give me via IV, without even telling me? You guessed it, tramadol. Luckily I asked what it was before they jabbed it into my arm and warned them of the interaction, at which point the nurse went to speak to a doctor and brought me an alternative painkiller. On following visits I made sure to explicitly tell them I could not take tramadol and they were very accomodating after giving me a red band, but most patients wouldn't be aware of every interaction their meds could cause and shouldn't have to self-advocate just to avoid a grand mal seizure. We trust medical professionals to know these things already. After that little rant though it's only fair I circle back and say the majority of my experiences and interactions with staff were very positive, and with those rooms and that view it's certainly far nicer than staying in an NHS hospital that's for sure.

I had a medical procedure here and the treatment was superb. Everyone was super polite, things went smoothly, and they made sure I was doing well at all times. The room was amazing, and I could choose the food I was having after the procedure from a menu. The best hospital food I had ever for sure.

I have been to this hospital in Feb. The doctor is very nice, but the practitioner at the blood test center is simply awful. The guy who claims to be the best doesnโ€™t carry any sense of professionalism at all!! For a very simply blood test, he simply skipped the standard procedure for blood extraction. No sterilisation! Stabbed me on my leg and moved needle beneath my skin. Very painful!! That was the most horrible experience for blood test. When I questioned the guy, he didnโ€™t feel any sense of guilty. Arrogantly claiming he is the best. WTF. The reality is he is the worst I have ever met. And the hospital charged me ยฃ260 for that horrible service.

I donโ€™t know why but something happens to me every time I go to London Bridge Hospital. Which is why I never took up the 12 sessions of physio treatment that was approved & paid for. Yesterday, I called my insurance company, got an authorisation code for a blood test & a consultation. I called London Bridge, with my authorisation code, printed out the order form London Bridge sent me by return (with the new authorisation code on it). Went along there today, gave them the form at reception. They processed it, sent me along to the forth reception. The forth floor reception told me to go to blood department reception. They told me to turn left, then turn right and report with my authorisation form to another reception. I handed the form in there. They took down the details and asked me to go down the corridor and wait in a little alcove at a nurses station. After a wait, someone came along there & collected my order form & asked me to wait again. Twenty minutes later they gave me my form back & sent me back to the main reception, because I was not properly registered they said. I went back to the main reception and waited there for another 20 odd minutes, for them take my form away, crumble it a little, tell me the print quality was poor & hand it back to me, whilst getting me to sign three other new forms (stipulating that, in event that my insurance company had insufficient funds, or the world economy collapsed, that I would meet all my expenses). Then I was sent back to the blood department, where, if they were testing for blood pressure (which they werenโ€™t) they would have found mine to be pretty bloody high. I have been having treatment at London Bridge Hospital, on & off, for over a year. They are only ever interested & focused on money & payment methods, rather than diagnostics & clinical outcomes. London Bridge Hospital is a dreadfully inhuman place, a Hippocrates free zone.

I have recently had an operation at LBH and I can not express with words my dissatisfaction at this place. It started at entrance of the building with the security staff (not allowing my wife to entre the building due to COVID-19, although I was explaining to the doorman that I have a condition that I cant entre the hospital alone) . And then with the staff at the reception... Jesus, who poorly they are trained. Lots of attitude, very rood, very unpleasant. They took me to a room that air-condition wasn't working. Staff when they came to visit me, they kept leaving the door open because it was too hot inside. One of them was joking saying, have to come to sauna or hospital"? the only good thing was that I had my own surgent, Dr. Moraleda. The pharmacist prescribed me two type of painkillers (just to charge me more). Very unethical. Highly not recommend this place to anyone.

Incredibly slow to get an appointment (1-2 months time). Sometimes emails just get ignored. Consultations last for less 2 min. I don't understand how private healthcare can manage to be worse than the NHS

I was advised by the London Bridge Hospital to visit Dr William Alazawi for my problem with pancreatitis. Following an inconclusive and very expensive consultation with Dr Alazawi, without being advised beforehand I was asked to pay an extra ยฃ800 for unnecessary blood tests. After having paid an absurd amount of money the doctor did not successfully diagnose my condition and I was forced to consult yet another doctor.

The level of service was very poor at reception and nurse level. My wife had a serious operation and I was refused to see her as I had not had a lateral flow test. This was not informed to Us by the hospital or consultants . They would not provide a test for me and insisted that I go out on the street and find a facility to take the test. The staff were unhelpful full and talked only like computers . This is not a level of service expected when paying such high fees. Infuture we will use another hospital.

From the moment I arrived at London Bridge Hospital the experience was exceptional. I didn't feel as if I arrived at a hospital, it was more like I entered and checked into a 5 star hotel. There was a hostess responsible to escort me to my room, that was a new experience for me. The hospital was very clean, spotless. All staff were exceptional and provided excellent service. They appeared to love what they were doing and did it with pride. They ensured that I was knowledgeable and comfortable with the process for the procedure. Kudos to Dr. Fidler and Team, Nurse Tanya and Team for 1st class service provided.

Came to collect someone from a straightforward, planned procedure, was told they were able to be discharged and ended up waiting for 2 hours. Had quite an abrupt concierge (allesandro) tell me where I was and wasn't allowed to wait, which contradicted what i was previously told (He should work on his people skills a bit.) The receptionist was extremely apologetic and gave me updates, which made this experience slightly better. Overall, for a private hospital I would expect better than a 2 hour wait in a waiting area with terrible phone signal.

I was a day patient for a knee surgery. The hospital staff is absolutely fantastic and friendly, they are always there to help you and to answer questions. The food was good beside I was not able to eat it all (i had anesthetic side effects) and the facilities were immaculate! Thanks for making it such as smooth process.

Overall, the experience was very good. A few minor points of note that I have fed back, the biggest was that I felt theย discharge process felt a little rushed and rather opposite to the welcoming procedure. Thus 4, and not 5 stars.ย All the staff were friendly and professional and overall I would recommend.

I had a day surgery yesterday and was impressed with everything from start to finish, especially the doctors and nurses. I donโ€™t have much basis for comparison and itโ€™s my first time in hospital, but Iโ€™d be happy if all of my future hospital stays were like this.

I have had two day procedures here and my experiences were so good. The staff were so professional, carrying out safety checks and procedures very carefully. They kept me fully briefed about all aspects of my care. The porter and service staff were friendly and efficient. The food was great. The view of the shard from my room was great. Honestly it almost felt like a spa day rather than a day procedure.

I'm so glad I chose London Bridge Hospital for my first ever ablation procedure. From the initial consultation with Dr. Behar until being discharged from the hospital on the procedure day, I had a great experience here. Joanita who took care of me is a very caring and experienced nurse who reassured me I got everything I needed and being throughly looked after. I was very nervous about the procedure but everyone's kindness / professionalism / attentiveness made me assured that I would be okay and made me feel comfortable. The most importantly, I feel much better after the procedure. I would definitely go back to LBH for future check ups or procedure. Thank you to everyone!

A big thank you to everyone involved in my care at the London Bridge Hospital. Cannot recommend the hospital enough! Mr. Ember and Tessa are always easy to talk to. Despite his busy schedule, I never felt that Mr. Ember was rushing in our appointments. So very patient in explaining every thing which made me feel 100% confident in him. The nurses were brilliant! RGN Bambhi (Abhi) Q. went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable during my admission. She has already finished her night shift when I arrived but she still went to my room, answered all my questions and made feel comfortable. She also made sure to check on me after discharge. RGN CJ looked after me, her bright personality is truly refreshing but stayed professional the whole time. She made sure I was well looked after before during and after my procedure. Additionally, RGNs Dana and Gladys, were also exceptionally kind and knowledgeable. The food was impressive! Catering staff were always so polite. Was kinda bummed that coffee was instant coffee(not a big deal tho). Overall, I am extremely grateful to the whole London Bridge team!

I expected a high standard of customer care on arrival at the London Bridge Hospital, but my expectations were easily surpassed. As an overnight patient, I received the best possible attention and care. There was not a single aspect of my stay that I could find fault with. Looking back, I would compare it to being at a top class London hotel, with the minor inconvenience of having to undergo a heart procedure. I lived in the States many years and experienced high standards of medical care. This experience was right up there.

Haven't been here but saw this from the Thames. This is a private hospital on the south bank of the River Thames. It opened in 1986.ย It belongs, along with several other well-known private London hospitals, to HCA International. It is located on Tooley Street, London, SE1

Received the most amazing care at the hospital. Was there for two nights and the whole staff were fantastic. The rooms are spacious, clean and have an incredible view of the Thames which really does make for a great experience when recovering from surgery. Not to mention, the food provided was exquisite with a vast range of options, especially considering I'm vegetarian. Would always recommend if you can go to this hospital then you should.

This is my pandemic experience that may change when it's over - HCA need to change their catering manager. Apart from the daily lunch special, they're using cheap ingredients in everything, small portions, limited choice, and they clearly have basic supply chain problems. You're lucky if everything you ordered arrives. In a private hospital good food is a big part of what you pay for given the health benefits. The poor staff are left constantly apologising. Also clean the windows so we can enjoy the view.

So impressed with HCA London Bridge. Even during a pandemic their standards haven't dropped - if anything they have been raised. I had an intensive surgery today and from the moment I walked in I felt like I was in a hotel, facilities are outstanding. All nurses went out of their way and were very very kind. The human touch makes all the difference especially when you can't have visitors at the moment with Covid. I had a chat with the nurse and heard first hand about their commitment to sustainability which is so important given the amount of plastic and waste used daily in hospitals. The only couple of things I would say is some of the rooms can be noisy with noise from the ward. Try to ask for a room away from reception. Also if your surgery is at night make sure they get your dinner cooked before so someone can warm it up when you come out. Other than that highly recommended this hospital.

I had a surgery in this hospital in December 1990. That surgery changed my life. I was 14 years old at the time. The nurses were great and my surgeon Professor Mundy was an angel sent by god. I owe my life to him. I visited the hospital and him this year after 29 years. Both are still there in this constant changing world.

From the doctors/Consultants nurses/staff they are all helpful kind and great at their jobs but especially Augustine who is working outside the two main entrances. Dreadful service - I went to see my consultant, who then asked me to go for some blood tests - when I arrived in the blood test area it looked like a scene from ER, people sat on the floor, others stood up, absolutely crammed. I was told it was a 1.5 hour wait to have blood tests done as "we are talking walk ins" - not sure what that means, but it sounds like they are letting anyone come in without appointments or referrals. What I am sure is that 1.5 hours to wait for blood tests is completely unacceptable when you are paying privately - this used to be 10 / 15 mins max. Should probably expect this though after receiving a pre-visit check-in email asking me to check-in online but that contained loads of errors (I thought it was a scam email, but it appears they really can't even write a proper email) - check-in in person at the hospital was however its usual unprofessional incompetent process, so at least some things haven't changed. In short, I have been coming here for nearly 15 years, but I've never seen it as unacceptably shambolic as it is now. I'd avoid London Bridge Hospital if you can.

This review is not for the hospital, but for a particular doctor who works there but also has an office in Harley Street. I saw Dr. McGurk in Harley Street. First meeting was fine. And I was okay that they weren't able to find anything, but when he delivered that news I was emotional because I wanted them to find something. On that particular day, I was having a lot of trouble. I had throat pain from my dysphagia, I was having trouble with liquids, and this was all documented by my gastroenterology team. At the time I only had a diagnosis of an esophageal stricture (recently I was diagnosed with EoE by a gastro and have medication that helps which explains some things but not all the issues still). Here is what I didn't like: I cried when he told me they couldn't see anything. Instead of having compassion for me, he said "This is not a normal reaction" something to that extent and claimed I needed psychological help and must have issues at home, which I don't it's all due to the stress of my condition (I weighed 96 pounds last year from it at 5'4). He went on to ask me unprfoessional questions that had no relevance whatsoever "What does your husband do?" and "Where do you work?" like he was going to tell my work about it was so horrible. When I explained I have a diagnosed esophageal stricture he claimed "You don't have that it doesn't cause those symptoms" despite having the paperwork from my gastro team to prove this. I am luckily well informed but to tell a misinformed patient this could be detrimental and discourage from seeing a specialist in gastroenterology who ca truly tell you if you have that or not. That would have devastating consequences no doubt. I immediately knew after this appointment that he did not have any concern for my wellbeing and I got the impression that he is sexist as well. Unfortunately, the "iwantgreatcare" website mysteriously didn't let me publish this review to warn others. Avoid if you can and see another oral maxillofacial surgeon (especially if you are a woman because he might say everything's in your head when you have medical documentation to prove this is not the case). It's too bad since with all other doctors I've seen I've had nothing but positive experiences and received a partial diagnosis here in the UK which I didn't get last year. He caused extra undue stress by making me question my sanity and having no empathy whatsoever. I hope this review can help someone who is struggling and wants real help and someone who actually cares and understands impact on quality of life that dysphagia can have on a patient.

I had the best care at this hospital. My first time ever being a patient in hospital and the service and treatment here was amazing. Massive thank you to Dr Kumar who did my procedure, and to all the nurses that took care of me, Abdel, Chris & especially Sophie, she made me feel so at ease with all the nerves I had. The room: Nice, warm, clean and spacious, with beautiful views over river and London bridge. The food: Great selection on the menu and would even go as far as to say, the best salad I have ever had. The added topping was the cherry on top. Last but not least, I would like to thank the porter Michael. He remembered me from a previous visit, was very thorough in his explanation and just an all round lovely man. I cannot recommend this hospital more. 10/10 Thank you all!

Cannot fault anything at all. Dr Carapeti and his team were truly outstanding - Thank you for such wonderful care. Nurse Tanya and all the staff were great too! I was truly in the right hands from the minute I walked in, to the minute I walked out. Wonderful hospital and the view helps!

Poor outpatient registration process (why do you need to queue to have a form printed when you've already fully registered online?). But otherwise good overall. The consultant I saw was excellent.

Ladies at reception are unprofessional, careless and rude, worse than the NHS! Makes you wonder why the healthcare in this country is broken! Even the private one!

I'd like to leave a positive review but I'm struggling to remember any. The room was ok but major building work going on outside which started very early and view of brick wall didn't help. It was clean though. Staff member who greeted me was polite and friendly but I was left alone for most of time and had no idea when my operation would go ahead. I had requested an early slot as fasting since night before and told to check in 9.15. I get massive migraine when going without food for a few hours. As it turned out I was taken down at 4.30! I also asked to speak to the anaesthetist as I have serious spine issues and was due to have spinal block and was told I'd have plenty of time to talk to him. I didn't. He rushed in barely glanced at report I gave him about my disc issues and subsequently when they finally tried to administer the anaesthetic he couldn't get the needle in my spine. It was painful and very stressful as I could tell he wasn't happy. Then without warning I had a gas mask clamped over my mouth and told I'd be having a general . I was coughing and the smell was awful and I was terrified. When I came round I was shaking violently and asked the nurse to help me . She said don't worry it's normal. It lasted 45 minutes. It was a horrible experience and had I time with anaesthetist I could have told him I have bad reaction to some anaesthetics. I was left in my room in the dark for long periods. I couldn't eat or drink and felt wretched. I had 2 young male nurses who were nice....hence the 3 stars but I'm of an age when a female nurse would have been appreciated. Getting to the toilet on a zimmer with an open back gown on is not easy and I was glad of their help but another female would have been a bit more understanding maybe. I couldn't eat the food and the tea which I lived on was so weak like water to be honest. I was glad to be leaving after the 2nd night. Overall I felt abandoned when I was at a very low ebb and the staff very slow to respond to the call button so I stopped using it. I've had better experience in an NHS hospital overall and was very disappointed. My surgeon was excellent and so were his personal team. My only regret is he only works out of this hospital so I don't know if I will return for the further treatment I need. I certainly won't use his anaesthetist again.

I was very happy with the service provided. I find this to be a very good hospital for gastrointestinal operations. I was also given a very nice room covered by private medical insurance. Very friendly and caring staff, a fantastic view, great medical service, very clean and good amenities. I give it a 8.7/10 and would recommend.

The attention I received from reception to the consultant was first class. Timing was excellent and the whole experience was efficient and comfortable. This was reassuring as I was a little concerned about my investigations. I cannot praise the hospital highly enough on this occasion.

Really caring and expert team, everyone made sure I felt at ease and informed every step of my surgery, and the whole process went very smoothly. My anaesthetist was particularly good - she was super lovely, human, and did little things to make sure I was looked after. Thank you!

We have a stay there and was very bad experience with some nurses and services. They were rude and careless also unprofessional. Big changed happened between 2017 and 2021. The Management far away from their patients reviews and opinions about their services and staff.

I had an overnight stay and the staff were lovely- very helpful. I did have to remind about things and ask more than once, but their kindness and willingness to make your stay as comfortable as possible made up for it. The food (once I was allowed it!) was very good - restaurant quality, and nice touches like the bathroom toiletries and porter who shows you your room.

Great service all the way. The nurses and staff are very friendly and very service oriented. The food selection is superb and the room has a view of the Shard, very nice experience all together, I have never had a problem with this hospital and HCA clinics, always get top service. I have recommended this place and the Urologist here Mr Bultitude is a very great person and very efficient, my friend got top service here, I highly recommend it

Very disappointing experience. I booked a ยฃ200 consultation based on a quoted price that turned out to be entirely incorrect - tried to get a refund due to being mis-sold, but without success. Be very wary when dealing with this hospital.

Everytime I make an enquiry with this hospital about possibly having an appointment as a new patient/or as a new referral, nobody ever gets back to me or follows through. Needless to say, I've never been a patient here. Appalling. Shoddy admin.

Good hospital with helpful staff, located in good part of London with lots to do. Just ask and staff will help you! Also managed to get all the tests my consultant wanted on the same afternoon, so no extra trips to have them done!

I have been wrongly charged for an amount that was never due, this error has been accepted by the finance department. However I have been chasing for over a month for the money to be returned. No response from customer service to my three emails.

Really very impressed with the polished and professional experience the hospital has provided me. I booked an appoint on Monday, for a 30 minute consultation with a cardiologist. Was seen the following morning. Had an ECG before the consultation. The consultation actually lasted an hour and 15 minutes, during which time the consultant obtained details of my medical history, explained to me some of what I was experiencing and why, discussed ways to move forward and what further tests she would like me to undertake. I felt very much in safe hands and very much reassured after months of worry. Absolutely every member of staff I came into contact with was lovely. Nothing felt rushed and I felt a lot was going into making my experience as comfortable as it could be. The entire experience was smooth and well oiled. My whole visit flowed very well from the moment I arrived at the reception downstairs, and as I moved through an array of staff medical and non-medical who dealt with the various components of my outpatient visit. It was exemplary customer service.

If I could give it 0 Stars I would, PLEASE DO NOT WORK IN THE CATERING DEPARTMENT HERE, the staff are rascist and have no respect. Working here will cause you to have severe depression. The management is poor and overall the Paitents and staff are too rude. I have been harassed here several times by members of staff.

  • 4/5 Sylwia H. 4 years ago on Google
Polite staff, from receptionists to nurses. Some parts of the process are confusing, e.g. where to wait before an appointment and whether nurses will come look for us if we walk away. All nurses spoke clearly and respectfully to older patients, good service.

This is the second time I've stayed and had surgery at this hospital. Last time my pain medication wasn't administered properly, I had poor care during the night, which included not receiving pain meds and no nurses coming when called. This time, I've been isolating for 14 days, asked to fast from the night before, only to be told, on the day that my surgery is delayed because I've previously had covid (months ago I might add!), which they have known about for weeks! I am a paying customer and find this disgusting that the hospital can treat patients in this manner. I really wouldn't bother seeking treatment at this hospital In the future!

Overall, an excellent experience. The nurses, medical assistants and consultant were all very friendly, competent, efficient and knowledgeable. They were also very reassuring throughout my stay (as a day case rather than needing to stay overnight) and overall, I was very impressed with them!

I cannot recommend the London Bridge Hospital enough. The staff, from the surgeon, in my case Professor J Gill, through the theatre staff, personal nurses and service staff were all personable, efficient, and engendered confidence at all times throughout my stay. The facilities were first class, spotlessly clean, and even the TV was easy to use :)!
