My husband needed an angiogram and we chose to go privately because his NHS appt was not till July and he had blocked arteries causing him pain. My husband has very limited English and I normally interpret for him. I was however not allowed to stay due to Covid, which I understand but this caused more stress for my husband. His appt was a day appt and he had his procedure just before 6pm yesterday 31/03/2021 ( we arrived at 4pm). We were told by the consultant surgeon and the specialist cardiologist nurse on the phone that he would need to stay at least 4 hours and then could leave if everything was ok. The procedure went well but then when my husband was taken to the ward this is when care became very shoddy. My husband was given a cup of coffee and a sandwich after his procedure, the plate was not picked up. He was thirsty and having to ask for water it was brought in a jug, even the NHS provides water in bottles now, especially during covid. He did not drink it. He had to ring the bell 3 times as he was so desperate to go to the toilet, in desperation he took out the needle in his arm. That's when the nurse came and said "you should not have done that" my husband's retort was " do you want me to wet the bed" He should have had the pressure on his wrist band checked every half hour or so and the only observation was a visual one when he first came to the ward then at 10.05pm the pressure was checked to see if the bleeding continued. I had to phone twice and the nurse told me "we are checking on him, but we can't check on him every half hour, there are only 5 of us" At this point my husband was getting very stressed and his heart monitor signals were not looking good. When I phoned the nurse again, she said he could not go home if his bleeding hadn't stopped, but no one checked it properly to see if this was the case. Obviously if he stayed overnight they would have charged us another few thousand! In the end my husband discharged himself as he was so stressed at the lack of attention and care. This was the first time we had used a private hospital in the Uk, as it was self funded we had to think long and hard about it. All I can say is God bless the NHS!! We would definitely think twice before using a private hospital in the Uk again.

Wish I checked the reviews before admitting my dad here…Fingers crossed he’ll be discharged today after day 5….still no diagnosis to the health issues he’s facing. The hospital is clearly struggling to meet patients needs and although some staff are very lovely others need training on how to interact with patients with patience (should be a basic when working in a hospital)….very sad situation to such amazing premises and location.

The Consultant was great and the operation a success but the lack of staff and support was not good especially when paying a premium price. It is disgusting that phones are not answered and communication is a disgrace. Having tried to contact the consultant for follow up advice 48 hours later we are still waiting. His secretaries just don’t answer their phones and don’t follow up emails. Have had a better response from a corner shop! Then it takes the hospital over 3 months to respond to my post. I think that confirms my comment above? I rest my case

Incompetent Doctors, Extortionate & Unfair Charges, AVOID! Went for a dermatology operation - two different consultants said that the resulting scar would completely disappear within a few months at most. Years have passed, and the scar is still the same as day 1 after the operation. Incorrectly billed - billed twice for some items, so watch out. A simple bandage costs above 30 pounds. Wish I had gone to the NHS for my surgery, instead of these cowboys!!!

Having visited many hospitals in the UK and worldwide, I can confidently say it was one of the worst hospital experience ever. They had head nurses that were extremely rude, and could not care less about customers. Especially one that was Jamaican that started shouting at us and had a careless attitude, not the right attitude for a hospital. They were very understaffed in terms of nurses. They hardly let any family members enter even when the patient is over 80 years old and unable to speak to the doctor. I would never leave a family member there again. Not the kind of service you expect at all for the very premium price paid.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I was told by a doctor to come here to remove my 2 stitches. So when I came there, the doctor had a look at the area around the stitches and said that it’s better (well thank you, I can see that myself). He then removed the 2 stitches and asked me to pay him £140 for the so called “consultation” and £30 for the removal of the stitches. I was very surprised as he charged me for a consultation which didn’t even happen. I believe the consultation is him saying that the area around the stitches is better. After a few days I receive a letter by post saying that I have to pay £69 for the “use of the equipment”. 1. Their website says that the removal of the stitches is £30. 2. I was never told that I will have to pay the hospital too. 3. “Use of the equipment” - £69 for the scissors to cut 2 stitches, that’s very reasonable... This place scams you! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I have recently had a total hip replacement, carried out at the Wellington Hospital. I found the standard of care excellent at each stage, from the scan, to the pre admission meeting to my inpatient stay. The nursing staff were kind, supportive and friendly. My room was comfortable and the food was amazing,. Before I went I read the reviews on here and was surprised by the range of comments. I think some people have very unrealistic expectations of a hospital stay. This place is great!!!

I used their walk-in service and stayed at this hospital for one night. My advice is that if you need to use a walk-in service and it's earlier than 8pm, walk around the corner to St John's and Elizabeth - it is significantly better by every metric than The Wellington. If it's later than 8pm (and therefore, St John's walk-in will be closed), I would still go NHS unless you really, really needed some assistance there and then. I did feel better from the medication and treatment that they provided me with. That is the most important thing. So, why the 1 star? For a private hospital, you expect certain standards and those standards simply weren't met. 1) At this hospital, I felt like an inconvenience for many of the staff. My room was large, cold, not cosy, did not have its own bathroom / shower and was positioned literally right in front of the desks and so the noise was very loud and made it hard for me to sleep at night. If this was the NHS, none of that would be an issue at all but because it's a private (and expensive) hospital, you expect certain standards. 2) Some of the staff, especially one of the receptionists whom I first met in the walk in centre, come across as rude, condescending and to be candid, unprofessional. For example, she seemed to be very judgmental and seemed to suggest that I couldn't afford their 'services'. She asked me on several occasions if I had health insurance and if I could pay a deposit, almost as if 'damn, I have some more paperwork to fill in now'. 3) The 'doctor' saw me for literally 2 minutes. He suggested a treatment and then they then kept me waiting in this reception room for almost an hour before I finally got moved to a proper room. 4) The next day, none of the nurses were telling me anything. At no point did someone say 'so, this is when you are meeting the Dr'. Some of the nurses seemed genuinely depressed. The whole vibe of the building seems 'off' and quite unwelcoming. 5) When I had a scan, the whole process was like being on some sort of ultra rushed reality TV show were the protagonist is being asked to 'go, go, go' as if to beat some sort of time limit. 'Sit here, lie there, go there, now there'. I then waited for hours and hours and hours and hours and no-one told me the results of the scan. In the end, I gave up and checked myself out. 6) During my self imposed check out (I had had enough and just wanted to get out of there), this so called Dr came in who seemed to have an incredibly high opinion of himself. He was so blase. He was talking complete fluff, he added nothing of value and when he wrote my prescription, he wrote the details down incorrectly and so I was waiting again for ages in Boots trying to get that all sorted. The entire set up is strange in that hospital. What this hospital needs is some proper leadership because all the points I have made are manifestations of something deeper. Fundamentally, their standards are incredibly low and I suspect there isn't a huge incentives to change things because they seem to be doing very well as they make a big effort to cater to a particular type of wealthy customer.

I had my operation at this hospital on 7th December 2021 and although there were theatre delays I was pleased with the team who did my operation. However once back in my room on the ward getting help from staff was difficult, I had to repeatedly ask for water and they took well over an hour to get me some, the next morning I waited about 1 1/2 hours for breakfast after having to complain to staff. On discharge the nurse was helpful and kind, but my overall experience was not great, particularly considering the high cost.

My father was admitted to the Wellington Hospital as a very ill man with an ischemic lower right leg....His care for the six weeks he was at the Wellington was life extending and a carer was with him day and night... I cannot fault the care/treatment he received apart from the fact he was left in bed for his entire six week stay and I had to literally fight the Physiotherapy Department to hoist him out of bed which was done only ONCE and sadly, two days before his 'fatal' transfer to St John's Hospice which I see nothing more than a Death Camp the way my poor father was neglected and left to die horribly.... We were self funding at the Wellington Hospital and the daily charges were immense at £1800 for the room and an additional £800 per day for the carers....A total of £2600 per day, which we could no longer afford , so we had no choice but to transfer him to the nearby St John's Hospice to give us two weeks financial respite as we had the Accounts Department on our back for another £20,000 top-up... The move was to give us time to arrange my Father's transfer to a Care Home within our community. Sadly, St John's Hospice had other ideas and put him on end of life care without our knowledge or consent, thus resulting in his cruel inhumane 'execution'..... What annoys us is had the Wellington not charged such an excessive amount of money, my father could have remained there and his life would not have been cut short so cruelly....I'm sure after six weeks, the Wellington could have negotiated a more reasonable daily charge....We feel immense guilt for sending my poor father to his death, all because of the Wellington's immense charges.. Be interesting to see if I get a response.... Doubt it somehow!!!

Awful. Do not be fooled if you are looking for private healthcare. This is a factory farm. Better off going to NHS. Absolutely no ownership of issues and no customer service. The doctor did not even show up. Apparently he was on holiday and they booked appointments for him. The patient before me waited for over an hour. Apparently you should register when you walk in but the reception staff do not communicate. This place is quick at taking your credit card details but once you have a problem do not expect them to be able to rectify it. They are open till 8pm but have no client managers after 5pm. Not worth the hassle. Avoid at all costs. This used to be a decent hospital about ten years ago but overtime has lost its way and care standards.

I had a very disappointing service and an indescribably bad experience in your hospital (The Wellington Hospital London NW8 9LE) today. I can't believe that such a low-quality service comes from a famous private hospital in London. My husband has an appointment at 10:30 am because my husband doesn't speak English, so I accompanied him to see the doctor as an interpreter. We also got special permission before . We arrived at your hospital at 10:10 am. I was surprised to be refused entry by the security guard at the door. The reason he gave was that only patients were allowed in. I said: "I understand, sir, but my husband doesn't know English and can't communicate with the doctor. I was accompanied as an interpreter and had been allowed by the doctor last time 2 weeks ago." He said: "can't you understand what I'm saying? he is a patient, only he is allowed to enter alone." he spoke in a very tough and abominable tone. I said,'I know what you mean, but....' He interrupted my chance to explain again, telling me, 'you, get out, only he can go in.' I tried to explain again that if he doesn't have an interpreter, I'm afraid we might have to cancel the appointment because my husband really couldn't communicate with the doctor alone.' The security guard said,'I'm sure he can, because the doctor you see today doesn't need English skills at all. I used to be a physio doctor I know this well. If you want to cancel the appointment, please do it now and don't waste the doctor's time. When I heard his words and attitude, I couldn't believe it would happen in a famous private hospital. The security guard's name is Abdelrahim Hassan. Then I tried to contact Central Health Physiotherapy Team on my phone for help, and while I was waiting, the security guard came up to me and said in a warning tone, what are you doing? Are you trying to make a video? I'm warning you, I can call the police to arrest you and take you away if you do anything illegal. I requested to see the manager and please tell me your name. Obviously, my request infuriated him. He shook his nameplate in front of me for half a second and then put it away. I said I'm sorry, I didn't see it clearly. Please tell me your name. He showed me his name tag at a speed of 0.5 seconds again. I said, excuse me, sir, I am not English, English is not my mother tongue, your speed is too fast, I can not remember, can you slow down? He raised his haughty head and said in a disdainful manner and tone, Oh, that's your problem. At this time, a receptionist came up to me and tried to help me solve the problem. I asked the lady for the security guard's name, and he reluctantly showed his name tag in front of the lady. This time I had a chance to write down his name. After waiting, more staff were involved, and the security guard began to change his attitude and said simple sorry to me. I couldn't believe that a simple act of accompanying my husband to see a doctor was attacked by discriminatory language and a warning to call the police to arrest me. During the nearly 20 minutes of communication, he did not have the slightest attitude to help solve the problem, did not use polite language, and did not feel respected by him. On the contrary, he has been challenging my bottom line with an offensive, defamatory, slanderous warning and discriminatory language. I am sorry to say I can not accept his simple perfunctory sorry. Today, I would like to share my bad experience with you. I sincerely hope that you can choose your staff carefully after investigation. The reputation of a hospital depends not only on the quality of doctors but also on staff with courtesy and equal respect for guests. I will share my experience on here to remind people that sometimes people may not be able to enjoy high-quality medical services equally even if they spend money on medical care. I hope that your hospital will attach importance to improving the working attitude and quality of the colleagues and that your hospital will pay attention to the reputation accumulated over the years.

I was scheduled an appointment yesterday and I arrived there after travelling 20 miles. The in-house receptionist from imaging department asked me fill various forms and made me wait for half an hour, to just say my appointment was cancelled and they could arrange for the procedure When asked the reason they mentioned my name was ticked off last minute which is ridiculous. I tried to ask for alternatives and he was not accomodating. Hospital staff was negligent and not considerate.

I was booked to see a dermatologist through AXA and the derm took my blood in the consultation. Apparently this isn't covered by insurance and you have to self pay. I was not made aware of this and the dermatolgist and hospital should have warned me! I've been charged £257 for this blood test.. most expensive 2 minutes of my life. The whole thing was a waste of time because all she prescribed me for my acne was a cream that they didn't even stock in the pharmacy there. The pharmacist told me I could use the prescription elsewhere, but when I tried to use it at my local pharmacy they said it was useless. Complete waste of time and money! Will NOT be returning to this hospital!

I've been chasing for more than A month now to have an invoice of what I've paid for in order to get a refund with my private healthcare But no answers. Even after phone calls. You know that something is not right and honest when they don't consider your emails ...

I know they say the NHS is broken but what I experienced yesterday the HCA Is in disarray. I can only imagine they are working on agency staff. I waited 30 minutes to see my surgeon only to find after 30 mins he was not told we were sitting there. He was cross not a great way to start a meeting . Other incompetence witnessed not going to moan here. Certainly going to work with this consultant but not in this HCA hospital. The HCA needs to be fixed , certainly their front of house.

Avoid at any cost! I`ve never experienced so inadequate service from Private Heath care. On 21 february ago I was booked for an appointment with a consultant because of bloated stomach and flatulence. Prof Bloom was great and referred me to diagnostics test, ultrasound and full bloods. My test were booked to the wrong date than what`s discussed but eventually after several phone calls and unnecessary delays, i had it all done at The Princess Grace Hospital part of HCA. Keep in mind they don't do bloods for outpatients there, so i had to go and have bloods test done at another clinic. I wish i was told that in advance by the person in Wellington Hospital who made the booking. Anyway, 3 weeks later, not a word from the doctor`s office. I tried to call the PA on many occasions, left numerous voice messages, no reply whatever! The staff from the main switchboard have been very helpful though but yet, the breath test i should have received at home weeks ago was never dispatched. It`s simply shocking that with the high charges, the doctor`s secretary wouldn't even return my call after all my voice messages i left. Basically 6 weeks after my initial appointment I am desperately trying to arrange a follow up appointment and it seems impossible. Compared to HCA Wellington Hospital NHS is extremely efficient. Avoid at any cost!

I've had my surgery 3 weeks ago. I want to share my experience as I don't believe I could have had any better team to look after me. Starting from clean rooms to amazing food and staff that are very attentive and helpful I am very happy to have been in such a hospital. The team on the 4th floor (gynaecology) are all very skilled and there for patients at any time. They made my stay and recovery more fun and were absolutely amazing! Thank you very much!!!

Absolutely superb crew! I had laparoscopic hysterectomy, and was very worried. They have surrounded me and embraced, gave me reassurance, TLC, and care that I didn't expect. Everyone is superb, extremely knowledgeable. Jenny at HDU was so caring for me, I never experienced such lovely care before. Absolutely everyone is great. Cynthia, Daisy, Georgia and Georgina on the 4th floor - thank you too! Also wanted to say a MASSIVE SPECIAL THANK YOU to Mr Alan Farthing, who is unbelievable, he is The God in the gynaecology. We are blessed with people like this in healthcare. He made this operation SOOO easy for me to bear, did laparoscopically where the most surgeons, I was told, would have gone a full abdominal. His choice will always be based on your best outcome and the minimal risk. Everything, everything was superb in this hospital. One regret. - actually, two. One is that I have not done it earlier, and second - if I knew I would feel so great on the next day after the op., I would not have spent a minute worrying about it. THANK YOU ALL, Massive thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from my family too! God bless you all! xx Lara Martin.

My husband and I are visiting from the US. He fell and bloodied his arm pretty good. We went to the urgent care at Wellington Hospital and he received excellent care. There was no wait. He was assisted by a considerate nurse and doctor. The care could not have been more professional. The nurse explained that they are new, and word is still getting out. For urgent care, we could not have been more pleased.

I had a minor procedure done as an oupatient. The medical team was good and helpful. The admin side was a nightmare. They "forgot" to send the bill for months and then billed incorrectly for an amount over twice as much as what another more complex procedure cost me at a different hospital. They also refused to itemize the bill. It messed up my insurance benefits and it took another couple of months to rectify during which time I had bills piling up. Fortunately, my insurance rectified what the hospital didn't, but this induced a terrible amount of anxiety that is the last thing you need when you are already unwell.

Drs seem ok . The admin/ secretary so so arrogant and has not got as good organisation skills as nhs . After she told me ( fee paying ) to call hospital myself to arrange numerous check myself I then switched to other Prviate doctors & hospitals with better attitude . She then carry on emailing me to call me “ abrupt “ . Be honest . I am happier with nhs if not fuss about a particular date/ time / location . I have much much better fee- paying experience with Cromwell hospital & new Victoria than this north London wellington . Those 2 are super organised, super responsive even mobile number can reach them, with can-do attitude in timely attentive manners . I feel sorry for good surgeons in Wellington who lose out fee paying patients just because of the hire of wrong secretaries & admins .

Stayed in the care of spinal unit for 7 x nights following ALIF. Staff work together to provide the best care I've ever received. The department is run so efficiently by the care team alongside the porters, catering and cleaning staff. Everyone is kind, empathetic and caring, often going above and beyond for patients and visitors alike. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews; I can only guess these may have come from people who like to complain in general...

Three weeks (!) ago I left my blood in this hospital for basic, but very urgent blood tests (to make it Kingston hospital took me one day only!). Still no result! They told me all sorts of excuses (“is world wide shortage of needed reagent”; “we are facing a computer system faulty”; “to make this test usually takes 5-10 workind days”). Now 3 (!) weeks has gone, I still don't have any blood test results, which were fully paid (£800) by my insurance company. Worst experience ever! Most Dishonest, disorganized, unprofessional and unreliable medical center ever. Avoid!!!

After discovering the urgent care center here I have pretty much completely written off the idea of attending an NHS urgent care facility unless the condition is something HCA locations can't treat. The staff are so reassuring, helpful, friendly, and the care is really the best quality. I'm also very impressed every time that HCA hospitals and facilities always proactively work to make their pricing efficient for their patients, despite knowing that most of their patients have the disposable income. That's always hugely appreciated. During my most recent visit I was also very reassured by how positively the staff speak about HCA Healthcare and they genuinely seem to love working there - this seems like a rarity these days and ultimately happy professionals result in much better services. Thank you to the staff at urgent care for taking care of me yesterday and Dr. Irene Asamoah in particular for going above and beyond for arranging my further treatment.

I'm writing this review only 2 hours after having had a colonoscopy here. I was a bit nervous since it was my first time both with this procedure and being sedated, but the staff was really friendly and made me feel very comfortable. On top of that, I was 100% concious during the whole procedure and didn't feel a single pain. The slight puncture to inject the sedative was the most painful part of the whole process! Would recommend this place and Dr. Austin Obechere for any colorrectal checks.

One of my relatives came to visit me in London from abroad recently and, when I bought their plane ticket, I also included travel insurance. While my relative was here visiting me, she fell and needed some medical attention. I made a claim on the insurance and we were referred to the Wellington Hospital. We arrived at reception and they immediately took my card details and, when I asked why, I was told it was just a precaution in case the insurance didn't pay up, which made sense... I didn't pay anything there and then because my insurance took care of everything, the hospital invoiced the insurer about £350 for x rays and painkillers, which already seems a ridiculous sum in the real world, but what are we gonna do about it... Yesterday morning I woke up and found out that my card had been charged an extra £120. I called the insurance and they told me that they had been invoiced and had already paid the £350 mentioned above. So I called the hospital and I was told that £120 was for the consultation fee which the hospital automatically charges the patient directly. Where do I start... First, I was never told I was supposed to pay consultation fees separately, not even when I asked why they were taking my card details. I was LIED TO and told it was just in case the insurance doesn't pay. Secondly, when I asked why I wasn't made aware of the fact that I was meant to pay consultation fees, I was told that the person who took my card details wouldn't know that... So basically the person who is in charge of billing and invoices doesnt know that I will be charged the initial consultation fee... Seems even more ridiculous. And thirdly, with the £350 they had already billed the insurance, is the £120 consultation fee really necessary? And then we wonder about the state of our NHS. It's just a big scam.

Nurses, doctors and facilties: perfectly fine. But oh my god was the food awful. I stayed 3 nights as had surgery on my throat and nearly everything on the menu was so unbelievably dry it was inedible, even for someone who was able to swallow it would be tough going. Twice it was given to me with no cutlery. Patients expect much better food service in a private hospital.

After a consultation August 20th with Doctor Platt, who was very helpful, I have yet to receive his report for my files. Even though I have contacted his secretary, Melinda Ziss, numerous times, she has never responded nor sent the needed information. I am now at a loss of what to do.

Horrendous lack of awareness of allergies considering this was a hospital. On top of everything else wrong with this hospital, I spoke with several nurses and members of the catering team making it clear I had an allergy, all of my food forms were specific forms for allergy sufferers and yet I was served breakfast which I was told was allergy safe and about 30 mins after this by which point I had eaten it the caterer came into my room asking if I had eaten it as she had served me what was clearly marked on the form as an allergy. I have never had this happen to me anywhere else and the last place I would think this would be a hospital

I visited the Wellington for a scan and consultation. From the first meeting with the reception staff, everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful. The staff answered all my questions clearly and in the right amount of depth. I felt able to trust them immediately and my confidence grew as the process moved forward. I have no hesitation in recommending the Wellington as a first class centre for excellent healthcare

The service provided by Prof O'Flynn's was absolutely fantastic. However, special praise goes to the most remarkable and incredible PA ever; Ms Entela Shapo. I was going on holiday and needed tests conducted urgently. This lady left no stone unturned in ensuring all my tests were arranged promptly. She also reassured me that I was in safe hands and was being looked after and gave me timely updates. So a special thanks to the dynamic team of Paul and Entela.

This is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. My room was full of ants and flies - I felt like I was living in a garbage can, the food was shocking, on the few occasions that they actually brought me food that is because they lost my order forms and forgot to bring me lunch and dinner several times, it got so bad I used Deliveroo in the end. I’m pretty sure they found the pharmacist out on the street somewhere, she’s delusional and attempted to give me weaker painkillers post spinal surgery than the ones I have on repeat prescription at home already and was surprised when I rejected her “offer”. I had people in and out of my room every 2 minutes even when I asked for the do not disturb sign so I barely got any sleep. I think I’d get more peace at Butlins

One of the most amazing experiences. My partner came through as an NHS patient and was treated all round with an excellent service. He was kindly asked if he was happy to leave an online feedback on google when visited by a gentleman from the management patient team and I was most happy to do so on his behalf. Thank you so much for the lovely care and compassion everyone showed. 5 Star!

ONE OF THE WORST DAYS OF MY LIFE WAS THE DAY MY FATHER PASSED AWAY IN THE WELLINGTON HOSPITAL. THE NURSES AND DOCTORS WERE HORRIBLE AND HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE HEALTH CARE PROFESSION. IN SUMMARY THEY WERE A BUNCH OF HEARTLESS PEOPLE REPRESENTING AN EQUALLY HEARTLESS MANAGEMENT OUT TO GET YOUR MONEY (IN MY OPINION) SO MUCH HAPPENED DURING HIS UNFORTUNATE STAY THERE, THAT I CANT EVEN GET INTO IT. IT IS FUNNY SOMEONE ELSE MENTIONED THEIR OBIVIOUS GREED FOR MONEY, EVEN THE MAGAZINES IN THE WAITING ROOMS ARE ARABIC.(IMAGINE THE SUCK UP FOR OIL MONEY) MY FATHER WAS A PRIVATE PAYING PATIENT IN THE ICU, WE PAID LITERALLY THOUSANDS A DAY TO KEEP HIM IN THE ICU AND HE WAS STILL TREATED WITH OBVIOUS LACK OF EMPATHY . FUNNY THING EVEN AFTER HE DIED WE WERE STILL BILLED FOR UNGIVEN TREATMENTS, FOOD, DRUGS AND TESTS. OFCOURSE I CONVINCED MY FAMILY TO DISPUTE IT, AND EVENTUALLY IT WAS CORRECTED , BUT WITH NO REMORSE AT ALL FROM THEIR END. THE OVERALL ENERGY IN THAT HOSPITAL IS SO NEGATIVE AND EVIL GOD KNOWS EACH TIME I GO PASS THAT HOSPITAL I JUST WANT TO PUKE. FOR EVERYTHING MY DAD AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY WENT THROUGH THAT HOSPITAL DESERVES TO BE SHUT DOWN. I HAVE HEARD OTHER NASTY STORIES, AND IN HINDSIGHT I JUST REGRET THE DECISION TAKEN TO MOVE HIM TO THAT HOSPITAL FOLLOWING SUGGESTIONS FROM HIS DOCTOR WHO EVIDENTLY FELT BAD AND APOLOGETIC I ALMOST WISH WE SUED THE HOSPITAL, BUT I GUESS IT WILL ONLY LET PAIN LINGER I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE.

I had my Rotator Cuff Repair on the 25th November in the Platinum Suite which went very well. I cannot thank the Consultant Mr Ferran enough. Also Rony Berrebi the Anaesthetist, he was perfect at controlling the pain while the Awake Operation took place. I was then moved to the South Wing by ambulance for my overnight stay. Firstly the Ambulance specialists took great care in getting me over to the South Wing after my Operation. Next I had the wonderful Florence and Daniella look after me for the evening making sure I was okay. In the morning Jennifer advised me on the Physiotherapy and anything else that I would need for a full recovery. The last person that I would like to give special thanks to is Lynn who arranged everything for me to be discharged and kept me smiling. The Hospital and facilities are excellent and the Nurses and Medics and ancillary Staff were brilliant, kind, warm and friendly when nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

I'm so glad I didn't listen to these bad reviews. The staff were amazing. Thank you Hanan for gentle blood work (pre assessment) and explaining everything until I was clear. Dr Ward and his assistant in helping find my tiny vein and sorting out some "magic" cream so I wouldn't feel the cannulas. Dr Richardson did clean work and we have our follow up soon. The team on the 4th floor : Mavis, Ruhmana, Rani, the catering lady whose name I forget and the first nurse who was there yesterday morning . I'm very grateful for your care. I'm a whimp and you all made me feel at ease. I wouldn't hesitate visiting here again. The food is yummy too.

Quite simply phenomenal. Of course, most reviews are based on wether a patient had a successful outcome or not, and thats understandable, but taking each element at a time, this private hospital is unbeatable. PRE-OP - Staff were amazing, the room very good indeed, the food incredibly good considering its a hospital POST OP - Again, staff were superb, High dependency room, absolute care, then recovery superb care STAFF - nurses and doctors are amazing per say, but The Wellington has the best, 24/7, and thats a real 24/7 KITCHEN - Well done chef, a fabulous menu each day, really very good good OVERAL - Yes, its expensive, and of course not all can afford it, but if you can, its money so well spent, because the levels of everything are so, so high SPECIAL PEOPLE - South building, Moustafa, Linda and Vicky, all of whom were above and beyond. THE STAR OF THE SHOW - Mr James Allibone, Neurosurgeon, what Churchill was to The UK, Mr Allibone was to me........a saviour

Incredibly disorganised for being a private hospital. Keep submitting forms online and none gets back to you. On the day of the appointment they sent me back and forth departments twice before making up their minds where I should be waiting. People are nice but systems and processes not as they should be given their prices.

My July 2021 experience on the day of my Cardiac CT scan was of a clean modern hospital, well trained and professional staff, the radiologist in charge of my scan was excellent throughout the entire journey, he personally called on the day to check in with me before the scan to see how I felt, little touches like that mean so much to a patient. The radiographer conducting the scan was also amongst the best medical staff I've ever had conducting care that I've had. He was a gentleman originally from Portugal, very happy to talk to help calm nerves about the scan. Really a first class experience. However, the one aspect that left a slight bad taste in my mouth was that I found out a few weeks after my scan that there was a hidden charge. When I arrived, as a self paying customer I was given a clip board to sign, and the staff member sat down with me and told me exactly what the scan would cost, underlined it with a pen, and also pointed to an additional set price for contrast and underlined. Then a total price, and underlined it. I signed for that. However, when billed, there's an extra charge for an additional scan area for £245, which is not a huge amount compared to the overall scan cost, but it's enough to be upsetting when not made aware of it. I've had a call from HCA Wellington regarding the charge, and have been told that it's something they may change for patients in the future, but that it said in the small print of what I signed that the scan cost may be more than the price quoted. There has been an apology on the phone by a staff member who said that she agreed with my point and that she too wouldn't be happy, and while I respect her empathy, I think it tells me that HCA Wellington as a business/hospital are not that bothered by a patient's experience and will happily continue burying charges. She agreed with me, which is hardly a resolution for a patient. It seems very odd to have a physical staff member sit down a few minutes before my actual scan, literally underline the prices of what you are about to have minutes later, but then find out that there's been additional charges. It does break the trust that I originally had for the hospital, as it seems underhanded, well IT IS UNDERHANDED. After all, I've used Nuffield and Spire hospitals in the past and every price I've been quoted before a procedure was the actual price I paid. This is the first time I've used a HCA hospital, and while it's just £245 extra, the fact that they don't have any intention of putting it right and honouring the price that was underlined for me by a staff member, it tells me a lot. When a patient is very nervous about a scan in a matter of minutes, and has a physical staff member underline a price and confirm that's exactly what it going to be, it's reasonable to expect to be charged that price. So I'm disappointed to say the least. THe HCA Wellington Hospital is an award winning hospital, but it seems pathetic to bury add on prices in vague small print, to tell me that they are going to try to not do it for patients in future, but make no effort to put it right myself. It's such a shame because it takes the shine off what was an otherwise smooth experience.

I was a bit worried after reading some bad reviews here but my experience of day surgery in the South building was great. Very polite welcome from a greek guy who wouldn't be out of place in a st james hotel, a nurse who was particularly friendly, kind, patient and attentive -thank you Shanayy, efficient and useful physio, good food choices, simple but fresh and nicely prepared, the room was modern and had a nice balcony, the procedure seemed fairly smooth and good communication throughout.
