I have been going here for many years to the Uveitis clinic and I have had to use the A&E. The staff are unbelievable and so amazing! You cannot get better eye care anywhere else. The hospital as well has so much art on the walls which is really nice. The A&E was amazing and every quick I may say! If you liked my review please give it a 👍 and feel free to follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!

Definitely NHS is broken at the moment but this hospital and staffs even hygiene ways 8/10. Waiting time is 4 hours so just seat nothing else to do. I don’t see any hope than worse and all the rich migrant to Dubai or USA . We have to survive with them so no comments as we don’t have any option rather than relying on them.

Waited literally 7 hours in A&E after a scratch on my eye. I was in absolute pain and could barely see. They should really have a better queueing system even as simple as the order number display to let us know how long it is. I understand it's NHS and can take forever on busy day, but at least giving the patient idea on how long or how far out the order is would make us feel better given it's A&E. The doctor was awesome though, i think it was Dr. Vivienne who nailed the diagnosis in 1 minute after looking at my eye after previous consultant couldnt tell what it was and made me queue (even more), therefore bumping it to 3 stars.

Visited the A&E department this morning, to me this hospital is the GOLD standard. The environment is super clean / organised. There was always someone guiding me to the next stage as soon as I walked in the door which made the wait pleasant. Despite high volume of walk in patients Everyone, every person I engaged was professional and caring. Plus all the consultations and tests performed were very thorough. My doctor Joshua Luis answered all the questions I had and really put my mind at ease. Great work to everyone one on the shift this morning - I won’t consider going anywhere else for eye problems in the future.

I attended the A & E at this Hospital today. My left eye was inflamed, swollen and painful. I just cannot praise this Department and the Staff highly enough. Their professionalism was outstanding and the running of the Department is superb. Everyone should feel very proud, especially the cleaners, because the whole area was clean and felt hygienic and bright. I was reassured and prescribed eye drops which have already made my eye more comfortable. Thank you so much for your hard work.

Tremendously grateful for the staff here! Came here for the A&E service and was absolutely anxious. The lovely receptionist was super friendly and chatted with me to calm me down. The doctor was really professional and helpful. A heartfelt big thank you to the staff here!

worst time management as usual at A&E. When ever I been there, even there is no patient, they will keep you 3 to 5 hours for no reason. I see that lady doctor was wandering around, chit chatting with colleagues after finishing with the last patient before me. I was the only patient there. After an hour,I talk to recieptionist about that, she was so rude. told me to leave if you do not want to wait. (Unbelievable) If it is busy it is understandable to spend 3 to 5 hours but when it is not, please do not punish patients by keeping them this much long.

I put my trust in the two A&E Doctors that wanted to manually double check my eyes. Yet they did not lift my upper eyelids using the correct method, which I only found out after they’d over pulled all my upper eye skin leaving me with permanently saggy hooded eyelids. I am devastated and can only assume that either A&E is being run by poorly trained student doctors who haven’t even been taught basic handling methods or just doctors who don’t care enough to follow correct procedures so not to damage patients skin

I attended the cataract clinic at Moorfields yesterday, this involved quite a lengthy process and several assessments. The care from every single person I saw was excellent, I was treated with respect, autonomously and every aspect of the procedure was thoroughly explained. I cannot praise the service enough which was provided by amazing staff. It would have been 5 stars but for the lengthy wait.

Absolutely wonderful place with absolutely wonderful and professional team. I turned up this morning with inflammation on my upper eyelid and intense pain in my left eye. The team have quickly recognised my poor state and gave me their full attention quickly and effectively providing me with much needed treatment. Before turning up to Moorfields I’ve been to Western Eye Hospital where the team have shown no interest in helping the patient in need and they have outrageously sent me away. Moorfields is the place to go! Thank you you lovely nurse practitioner Sherrie and other stuff members for their help - you are all life savers! <3

Received excellent service beyond all expectations at A&E to rule out a retinal tear. All of the staff, from the admissions staff to the specialists, were very professional and gave excellent advice. I was treated with kindness and respect throughout the entire process. The specialist were very thorough with their examinations to ensure their diagnosis was correct -- no tear. Extremely confident with the outcome.

Friendly and efficient staff. When I arrived, they were extremely busy and processed patients who had just walked in, as quickly as possible. I saw an Eye Consultant called Lola Ogunbowale who was caring and did a great job. Apparently Mondays and Fridays are quite busy so go Tues, Weds or Thurs if you can wait. Well done Moorfields and thank you from a very grateful patient who had a very sore eye from getting drilled concrete in it (even though wearing my rubber sealed googles?). Thanks again :)

Me and my mother came Moorfields A&E, she had a really bad eye pain and the pressure was really high! She could not bear the pain at all! From the time we arrived at reception until the the doctors said she’s good to go, every staff member was extremely helpful. I just wanted to leave a positive review of our experience at Moorfields for the day we spent there. Dr Arun, Dr Ibtesham and all the staff were extremely helpful, checking up on my mother every 10 minutes. We felt in safe hands and I was so relieved as a daughter! Thank you again!

Although I would not wish to anyone to experience eye problems, the experience I had today at the Moorfields Eye Hospital is by far the best experience I have ever had with NHS. Yes, I had to spent 4 hours at A&E (mostly waiting to be called) and I would have largely preferred the pharmacy to be open, but still the attention and level of care I received exceeded all my expectations. A big thank you to all the people working at the A&E department! I have been experiencing very alarming eye pains since a week and, having been unable to book an appointment with my GP, decided to take an afternoon off and come to the hospital. I am all reassured now with all the necessary exams having been conducted and I look forward to starting the treatment prescribed. I would give 6 stars if I could!

No-one works in the complaints department or PALS. They still haven't replied to the complaint I sent them a year ago and no-one from the complaints department or PALS has ever rung me or replied to my emails and the complaints department has no phone number and PALS never answers the phone . They know they can get away with ignoring complaints because the Health Ombudsman is useless and refuses to investigate complaints. After waiting 6 months I finally got an appointment today and had to wait for hours and was seen by various different nurses for unnecessary tests and an optometrist who poked me in the eye (which caused me a great deal of pain). At the end of all that I was told I couldn't see a Dr because they had all gone home (this was before 4.30). The optometrist said I would have to come back in another 6 months and go through this all again if I want to see a Dr.

Passing the three hour wait at the glaucoma clinic by leaving a bad review. How did three hours become the norm here? Staff are good when you finally see them. But clearly too many patients and not enough staff. Worst of the hospital I visit with my 91 ear old mother.

Although my appointment was cancelled so many times, but I will give 5 stars for all nurses and doctors taking care of my case. They were so patient, listened to my story and background and comforted me so well that I felt much less pressure. Especially. Thanks to Edvin (my CT scanner doctor) for his kindness, calm and expertise - an example of how NHS staff should be - he is truly an asset of UK NHS system.

I had been in a lot of pain since Tuesday, at first I was diagnosed with conjunctivitis so was put on antibiotic drops I was also having really bad eye pain, sensitive to light and just not in a good way. I took myself to Moorfields this morning ( Friday ) and from the very caring security guard at entrance to the receptionist to the two lovely ladies that first took down my details of what was going on with my eye to the lovely caring lady who did my eye test. They were very sympathetic and caring. The doctor I saw was amazing Dr Bronagh Clarke she was a superstar her care and understanding put me at ease. I would also like to thank the young man on reception who went out of his way to find me after recieving a phone call on the desk from my son, the phone reception wasn't very good and my son was panicking he couldn't get through to me. This young man passed on the message to call my son as soon as I could. Above and beyond Thank you Moorfields now on my course of steroids and hopefully less pain in the next few days

I called the nurse appointment line at 15:30 and was 5th in the queue. The option appeared for me to press 1 and my position will be held and a nurse would call me when it’s my turn. The time comes to 16:30 and I haven’t had a call back even though I was only 5th in the queue… I called back and waited… when the time came to 16:55 the nurses diverted their lines to reception and closed the system because they shut at 17:00. I don’t understand why they didn’t call me back with more than sufficient time.

Simply the best. From the incredible welcome to the care received and ongoing. A fantastic team of people. To say it ia a pleasure to visit a hospital when you know you are going in for an operation may appear strange, but everyone is so friendly and helpful then yes it is a pleasure. Thank you Moorfields for your exceptional care of my partner Therese and assistamce to us both. If only you could bottle this experience and apply to our hospital in Jersey. I wish I could say it was the same in our Island but sadly Jersey is miles apart and has a lot to learn.

Absolutely disgusting hospital. Please avoid at all costs. Had a 1:30pm appointment with Professor Webster in Genetics. The doctor didn’t see patients himself there were students around who were being trained at the same time. I waited until 6pm to be seen and to be told by a trainee nothing is wrong go home. I got a parking ticket waiting. I kept saying but nobody cared. Absolutely disgusting service. Surely wouldn’t be such wait if you saw the same doctors privately.

I have just returned home from an A&E assessment here following what my optician picked up during a routine annual appointment. From reception ,to triage and full examination and scans everyone went above and beyond. They were so thorough, explained everything and took time with me to reassure me. The hygiene levels were very high, everything was disinfected before use. Special thanks to ‘Grace’ and the consultant she called in to double check things.. but I’m sorry I can’t recall everyone’s names as they were all fantastic and all deserve a mention. A real credit to the NHS. Many thanks.

Moorfields is the best hospital I have ever been to, and I've been going there for three years now, they are always lovely. It is recognised as one of the best if not the best eye hospitals in the world and it deserves that 100%. If you ever have an eye injury this is where to go.

I came here a while ago but forgot to submit a review. I had some cement type debris in my eye which usually if I'm on site I can remove with an emergency eye wash kit but unfortunately not this time. I had a lady, I believe her name was Lesley remove the debris and really saved my eye. She took much care and took time to explain what was going on during the process. Thanks again 👍

I appreciated the nursing staffs' helpful, courteous, professional, caring attitude. The 2 nurses gave clear explanations, instructions throughout the battery of tests they administered. I am very grateful to the Doctor who gave me further exams, fed back the results in a way that I understood having listened patiently to my concerns. My anxiety was allayed. Very impressed and reassured with the whole experience

Went on a busy sat night and was there for a total of 3 hours. I didn't mind the wait so much as the staff were brilliant and I felt so much better after leaving. I've been taking my eye medication and my eye is much better today. Thank you Nurse Rose and Dr Jafari. Moorfields is honestly the best.

Had there my strabismus surgery, then Botox toxin injections I’m also a patient of the contact lenses clinic and all the people I had contact with were fantastic to say the least, by far the best experience I had within the NHS trust! Used to work in the City but now I have to travel all across from NW London for my regular check up something I don’t mind doing because I receive the best treatment over and over again! Can’t thank them enough!

I have waited nearly 6 months for an appointment which was scheduled for today, only to be called & texted on Friday that this has been changed to a telephone appointment. This was already incredibly frustrating, considering the wait. Today I don't receive a call at the scheduled time, so I call up the hospital only to be told that whoever phoned me on Friday made a mistake and that this is a face to face appointment, but don't come as the doctor has called in sick. Such a stressful & appalling service. I want to be seen ASAP.
