I am a former registered nurse with twenty years NHS service prior to a career change. I attended Barts hospital, Cardiology Department as an outpatient. Appointment letter stated appointment 12 Noon but arrive 15 minutes early. I arrived at 11.40am. Rebuked by person at cardiology reception for arriving so late. Eventually they conceded there was an error at their end but I received no apology. Other staff with whom I interacted that day displayed a range of emotions varying from complete disinterest to downright hostile - with the exception of the X-Ray team (Radiographer, Student Radiographer and Receptionist) who were very pleasant people. It has been downhill all the way since that encounter back in September 2021. It just gets worse and worse. They should rename the place St Jude's - in honour of the patron saint of hopeless causes.

Google was the only place I could find where you can leave an honest review on Bart's and NHS as a whole. The nurses in my experience pre COVID and during covid are the worst. I honestly don't know why they get praised so much. They lack professionalism and the very basic patient care. They actively lie on reports or any incident reports. But they are able to get away with it because they have the backing of the government and we have created this false sense of guilt associated with saying anything negative against Bart's or NHS as a whole. My experience is based on a number of months pre COVID. I just feel sorry for anyone who had to go in during COVID. If you have suffered at the hands of BARTs or NHS, know that you are not alone. Hope that brings some comfort.

Stop writing about the doctorโ€™s behave and the stuff. They donโ€™t have to kiss you on your arrival. Important is if they are Competent enough to heal you. This is the big problem. Stop complaining the waiting time or reschedule appointments. More important is are they look after you with great care and competence. This is where you should point to them the importance, so they will try to work more quality on your health and not administrative. I was reading reviews to see how the health team in this hospital is good and qualified enough, but most comments are for waiting and reschedulingโ€ฆ They really need to improve the way how they healing patients. They not always put enough attention to each patient. Sometimes they donโ€™t have enough experienced team around but they are trying. I think the solution is to have free education and easy access to education so we can have more doctors. I had an issue on my stat at the hospital which needs improvement: missed pills, wrong medications, I needed emergency care but they delayed my treatment and was potential risk for my life. We should find a way to encourage these people there to work better. They need to remember that they deal with health of people( for them is a routine and they forgot that. Maybe they need day off if they feel down). Their work should be with passion and love not only job for salary. The good doctor/nurse would prevent the potential disease or risk rather than waiting and trying to heal later. Then they will have not so crawded hospitals and more happy and healthy people around. I will apply for volunteer and will try to see if I can help them so maybe they can help people better. I am still thankful for each person there helping lives and running the day..

My mother had brain surgery in this hospital 2years ago just before the pandemic started. Now 2 years later she has had no follow up scan to ensure her tumour has not grown back. They send her appointments then just cancel them weeks before she is due let alone that, they are not even face to face. They stated when they done surgery she will receive yearly checks to make sure no growth is appearing. We have had to go private as my mother had alot of pains in her head also to ensure there is no growth, and this hospital refuse to help! Not 1 face to face check up in over 2years is absolutely disgusting! People can NOT use the pandemic as an excuse no more as everywhere is open everywhere is running as normal! If you can go shopping or to a club and be surrounded by people im sure you can do a scan on someone recovering from surgery! i am fed up and disgusted by the lack of care this hospital has for its patients/ex patients I also do not understand these telephone appointments. Are you able to see if there is a tumour growing back over the phone now. ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿค” Also i only gave 2 stars because my mother came out of surgery alive, or i would have given 1!

I visited the hospital for a blood test. The hospital was clean and fairly easy to navigate. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They cared for your needs and sensitive to your requirements. They have incorporated modern booking systems to make the process more seamless.

An absolute joke !.. I waited over a year for an appointment and receive a letter saying my appointment has changed. I tried to ring I was greeted by a member of staff saying" hello we have a fault on the line so cannot hear you please call back later" she then preceded to swiftly hang up the phone. I attempted to call back some hours later and surprise surprise no one even attempted answer at all on this occasion. A very shabby operation they are running here and from the looks of it I am one of a large number of people who have had the misfortune of experiencing such a poor level of service.

Had an abdominal operation at gynaecology department 3 years ago.Shortly after my surgical procidure I was attacked by another patient's visitor right in the hospital ward. The attacker and that patient both drug users were placed to the gynaecology post op ward at night. Scandalous! Wanted to call the police, but nurse had taken the mobile phone from me.I could not move from the bed and just leave. Had to stay all night there without professional help!I was so frightened! Unbelievable abuse in there!Complaints are covered up and was not investigated at the later time properly! No apology either! Stay away from this hospital for the sake of your safety!

No empathy or intelligence. An abysmal hospital poorly run and managed. Will just cause you psychological harm. They don't even respond when you complain. On the contrary, they will call you a serial complainer. If you weren't suicidal before seeing them you'll definitely be after. Criticism is 'abuse'. Saying that they're not following the scientific method is 'abuse'. 7 years and 6 months is the amount of time I've had this skin problem.

NHS is one toxic wasteland and Bartshealth is best example of this. Public health care needs more competition as its as now mostly waisting taxpayers money with usless angry management and uneducated staff employees. System is crooked and designed to reward poor working standards and bash those who conduct well with further more work to slap for performance when there is no reward at all CARE thats appalling in its questionable performance and lack of accountability. Pay and be quiet for substandard care you get and dont dare to complaint, as these people dont like to hear they do wrong

Poor NHS service with even a more dire consultation process. No order or best practice procedures followed. Doctors request you attend appointments that they fail to attend themselves. What has happened to the world renowned NHS. I think it has been hijacked by an elite group of greedy people exploiting money for themselves from the general population that contribute towards their health care. In return, receiving nothing credible for their outlays. Very poor Radiotherapy department with a team of medical professionals that actively and openly discriminate without shame; under protected characteristics of The Equality Act 2010.

My husband had heart surgery there. At first he was looked after very highly, but after the operation after care the nurses was so moody had no respect it was like he was a caged up animal where they have treated him so badly had to bring him home soon as possible. They chose that career to be a nurse if they canโ€™t keep up to it and putting patients life at risk they should leave.

Avoid that hospital whenever you can. First, waiting time is notoriously long everywhere from A&E to hospital admission, that includes 2-3 hours waiting for a cold sandwich when you were admitted into hospital and were starving on your patient bed. You rarely see a doctor day after day and nurses do not know how to do injections - that can be life threatening in a hospital! It takes forever to get any blood test results. When finally the test is there, the reason why they never call you to give you results is because they had the wrong number. Then you finally call them back to get the results they tell you they cannot transfer your call because the system is down. They donโ€™t know when the medical info will be shared with GP either. Whatever you ask, most likely they donโ€™t know anything! Full of drama and beyond imagination on how a hospital could be run like this, it is supposed to be a reliable place where people cares, seems quite the opposite.

Wast of time, unprofessional and rude staff. My child was suffering from body aches, high temperatures. A nurse Sophie saw him did not even check him properly and said he should go to gp or walking centre and don't come to A & E again! I don't know why we pay tax and nic to get such rubbish services

I am a doctor and another doctor asked me to speak to an ENT Consultant with regard to a tinnitus issue making someone suicidal, the 'lady' who answered in the ENT Department asked for my NHS number to access my medical records!!!! I refused and explained the situation over and over but it made no difference what so ever!!! As such we have a gentleman bordering suicide due to this robotic receptionist!!! I do not know how she sleeps at night!

After the advice of my G.P I went into A & E seen by a consultant i needed a ECG as had heart pain on and off numbness on facial area and pain left leg. Was then told to wait in the ED MF area waited 1 hour 30 minutes to be told I DON'T need a ECG! That it could be just a inner wall chest pain. But to keep an eye on it for a few more despite me saying since Friday this occurred. (Today 25.06.19) Disappointed seen over 10 Drs parading around looking for an empty room ignoring the fact there are patients waiting.

This hospital is rubbish. No seating area outside wards. Told to stand outside the wards. Staff are extremely rude especially in the premature baby unit. No people skills care or compassion, which is the old school rule and practice. Generation of staff only interested in bad manners, gossip and glued to thier mobile phones. Waste of tax payers money. I'm sure this was not the behaviour when they attended the interview to work there. Very disapointing.

The reception staff here are the rudest I have ever come across... you never get a hello, a goodbye and they never smile or answer your questions with any enthusiasm. One in particular is so miserable that I feel uncomfortable walking in here. One of the nurses as well is lazy, blunt, extremely unpleasant and couldn't give a monkey's. This is a very unpleasant place to come, and the sooner the staff are disciplined and brought into shape the better.

I've never seen so many idiots working in one place like the NHS! They know nothing about such illness eg. Celebral Palsy, Lupus... My wife has been a patient at the Royal London Hospital recently. She is paralysed. Once for 14 hours no-one has checked if she passed urine or not. She had only one bed bath. They almost injected her insulin because she was mistaken with another patient. But she is not a diabetic. I took her on my demand when I saw she was starting to develop the bed sores and hypertension. The health care in the UK is even worse than in Poland but much worse than in Czech Republic and a lot of worse than in Germany. But they are good in taking part at the COVID-19 circus...

Commercial Strategy Manager Vacancy I arrived for my interview 15 minutes ahead of my interview time and reported to reception. The receptionist telephoned the human resources manager to say that I had arrived. 30 minutes later I was still waiting in reception so the receptionist telephoned the human resources manager again to ask if she wanted me to be sent up to the third floor. 45 minutes later another human resources manager arrived for work so the receptionist asked her if she wanted to deal with me. This human resources manager agreed to take to the third floor for my assessment. My invite to interview email had requested that I prepared a presentation, so I was surprised that my assessment included a presentation on a completely different topic to the one that I had prepared. The assessment included a financial analysis which I duly performed and an answer sheet on which I was to write the answers to the financial analysis. I was surprised that on completing the financial analysis the human resources manager did not want the answer sheet so I kept it. After my assessment I had to wait in a corridor for 45 minutes before being asked to a panel interview. The panel interview lasted 45 minutes and consisted of a presentation followed by a competency based interview. The interviewers did want to see my answer sheet. How can the interviewers assess candidates if they do not look at the answer sheets to see if the assessment has been performed correctly? The whole interview process was a complete mess. I know that the Care Quality Commission has rated Barts Health as needs improvement, but I think that Barts health should be put back into special measures.

I will not complaint about giving birth as i met half nice midwifes and half very rude. What happened is i received an appointment for Podiatric Surgery (as written in the letter for my baby) and was booked for April, got cancelled in March as Dr had holiday that time.I called every 2 weeks to update me but bored appointment centre staff replied "you are on the waiting list" or "don't waste your time to go to children's departament reception as they will not help" After 8 months one lady was shocked and emailed the departament to book me ASAP. I received a letter with the appointment ( same like previous, same Dr) department : PODIATRIC SURGERY.I arrived there just to be inform that they will check another health problem of my baby but NOTHING IN REGARDS WITH PODIATRIC.And it was a mistake and don't know why they booked me as Podiatric.I waited from March to late September to think that i will finally solve the health problem in regards with podiatric. How is it possible a huge mistake like this to be done??This is unacceptable.Very disappointed with services.

I was with my husband Giuseppe, on January 21 in Emergency Services Royal London Hospital because he urinated with blood. I found exceptional doctors and nurse both at Emergency and Ambulatory Care Service. They followed us with great humanity and professionalism. We donโ€™t speak good English and they worked hard to make us understand what they were saying. Thanks also to the students who were very nice. Thank you very much and a hug to Dr Stephen Robert who examined us.

This hospital is one of the best I have ever been to. For last 3 months i come here ( first surgery then outpatient care ) and I cannot say one bad word about this place. Of course , i dont know all departments just plastic surgery and hand clinic but I was very scared to come here for any treatment after reading all this bad opinions. That is why I decided to actually find a time to write about my positive experience because I think that is a problem. Happy people dont find time to write about their happiness they just move on. Plastic surgery unit was excelent. I had surgery done quickly and with the outmost care from nurses to surgeons . All was very professional and with the use of newest techniqes and equipment. I was in awe of the technology and know how this hospital is using to help people. The units are always clean and staff are very nice and caring. The outpatient hand clinic is amazing so are the doctors and nueses working there. They have incredible detailed knowledge about what they do and how to help. They are open to new sugestions only to improve the final result of therapy which is bring back the functionallity of your hands back. All you have to remember is that you need to have patience because sometimes the process of recovery takes time. Dont be scared to come for treatment to Royal London Hospital and good luck to all in recovery .

Aside from the intensive care wards and major surgeries, the general wards were horrendous and unprofessional. In the general after his major op there was basically no rehab and appointments keep on getting cancelled. It was chaotic, inefficient and uncaring. My elderly friend in his late 80s was treated poorly, they handled him roughly and talked to him rudely. Two weeks without helping him brush his teeth, a whole week without washing, not coming even he pressed his bell for hours and hours.

My answer is based on the excellent experience I had on April 3. The entire staff has been very friendly and professional, I commented to one of them... "I would love to think that all the patients who come here, leave as satisfied as I do." Many thanks to all the staff!!! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Went to A&E for a wrist injury at The Royal Hospital. The person checking me was rude and did not seem to be bothered by my situation. She was also very harsh in her check up, not being careful with my potentially broken wrist and moving it harshly to check if it's ok. Some of the other staff was decent. The advice they gave me on recovery was ambiguous and did not specify why and when I should do what. It felt like they just wanted to proceed to the next patient. Waiting time are what to be expected by the incredibly poor health system in the UK, so waited for 3-4 hours on a Monday before lunch. It has been over a week and they are yet to send my report and X-ray photos to my GP to refer me to a physio - which I need because of their ambiguous advice for recovery. When on the phone to ask for what is happening and what the delay is for, the staff was very rude and quick to transfer me even though I specifically asked them to wait before they transferred me as I had some more explaining to do on the situation. Once transferred it was an automated line that spoke about Covid (which has nothing to do with my case) and then it was an automated hanging up. Horrible service.

I'm always nervous about hospitals. But Jo Jo the radiographer is such a lovely kind caring girl, and professional radiographer. The care and attention i received was second to none. In one word, brilliant! I had a cardiac CT scan. The preparation makes you feel dizzy with slight headache, which is natural. But Jo Jo stayed with me for 15 minutes, and brought me water and biscuits, and made sure i fully recovered before leaving. Hamida and Anastasia were also wonderful, and also RV the male health worker too.

I spent hours here for full STI tests and a smear to be done, and I have been told on the phone one month later after being lied to twice that I would get my results, that I won't be getting my results as they don't have any results from the tests and won't be getting any. Waste of time, rude and useless staff. My blood test also left my arm painful and bruised for over a week afterwards, again for nothing, making it hard for me to work at full capacity in my profession. Despicable. GO PRIVATE. They whack anyone with any old qualification from any country on the NHS system nowadays and this is the result. Just dreadful. I've been going to various doctors about my condition since last August and now I need to pay to go privately just to get a diagnosis. Do not waste your time. You're only going to be left feeling angry and upset.

Was just met with the most pleasant nurse at the reception and it is so rare nowadays in London hospitals that is made me give this review. It really made my morning so much brighter. This was in the outpatient gastroenterology department.

Recently, I had the unforeseen need to rush to Royal London, where I was treated in the Bart's Health section, MRI ward, CDU department and more due to a back injury. The experience, from start to finish, was nothing short of remarkable, highlighting the incredible value and importance of the NHS. From the moment I arrived, the efficiency and compassion of the staff were evident. Despite what I can only imagine was a hectic day, they ensured I was comfortable and attended to promptly. The medical team was not only highly skilled but also empathetic, providing reassurance and clear explanations at every step of my treatment. The care I received was top-notch. The expertise of the doctors, nurses, and support staff in managing my back injury was impressive. They worked tirelessly to ensure my pain was managed and that I understood the treatment plan. Their dedication to patient care was evident in every interaction. Moreover, this experience has reinforced my belief in the necessity of protecting and adequately funding the NHS. The level of care and support provided is a testament to the quality and dedication within the NHS. I am immensely grateful to all the staff for their exceptional care and kindness. It's a vivid reminder of why the NHS is a treasured institution, deserving of our support and investment to ensure its continuity for future generations.

I was a patient at another hospital for nearly 2 years ( queens hospital Romford) and as far as I know, they did very little or nothing, all they would do is to put more cameras down my throat to look at my ulcers, they nearly killed me twice that I'm aware of, When an ambulance rushed me to whips cross my life changed. forever, they had to sort out a lot of stuff that saved my life, whips cross saved me over and over, I would rate them a billion if I could, well done whips cross hospital.

Shocking and disappointing service. I attended ED on 23/07/2022 during night time with a medical emergency. The emergency assistant who took bloods for tests was patronising, the gentleman displayed no empathy or care for my concerns.

Was a nice experience with me as they provided stitching and crutches with a boot to go with it so I suggest going on Sundays in the morning or afternoon as there is free parking space on that day and very few people to wait on for your call.

I called this clinic inquiring about a vaccine they announced on their web site, but they refused to provide the service claiming it has been stopped due to Covid19. However, they decided to keep my details on their records (for some odd reason) without my consent! Very disappointing clinic indeed
