Worst service system I have ever seen. 7 hours of waiting when you feel bad and no one helps. The janitor who screams and after mopping the floor puts the doormat next to you on the chair. The receptionist, who, to the question “We are waiting for 7 hours, when the doctor comes, am I feeling bad” replies “If something hurt me, I would have waited 10 hours.” What is this relationship? And what right do they have to treat sick people like that? Where is the Hippocratic Oath? I realized alone that no one would help me, there was only one way out - a private clinic. A shame !!!! If you don't like working with people, don't work, it's simple. Doctors and people who work in the hospital should love people, help, be a little psychologists, since each of us reacts to pain differently, some can endure, some can't. But waiting for 7 hours is just some kind of fantasy!!!! This not normal.

A 10 month old baby seen in emergency at 12 am deemed not emergency enough sent to urgent care - waiting time in urgent care is 6-7 hours , we arrived in urgent care at around 1am only to realise patients have been waiting there since 6pm and still waiting and not seen , My baby was obviously crying , irritated , agitated restless sitting there with all the adult patients and waiting , Seriously do you’ll expect a 10 month old baby to wait in the urgent care centre for 6-7 hours? Despite the baby having temperature and obviously irritated and vomiting she was not seen Sadly we had to take her home because she will have to be sitting in the waiting room in the midst of people coughing, sneezing and all sorts of illness . The waiting time is ridiculous and sending a baby ( 10 month )to urgent care centre to wait for 6-8 hours is simply inhumane .

What an extraordinarily, wonderful, amazing hospital St Mary's is. I was taken here by ambulance with the most awful pain in my chest. After being seen by a doctor in emergency A&E, I was given a blood test which showed I had sepsis. Because it was detected so quickly, I was put on IV anti- biotics for 10 days. Even though it was 50/50 survival for me, St Mary's constant care and professionalism saved my life. I had never felt so cared for in my whole life. The way they looked after me was exemplary. Every single doctor, care worker and nurse looked after me like I was a member of their own family. God bless you St Mary's. Eternally grateful. I'm alive because of your dedication and duty of care. Thank you.

Had excellent service here recently when needing a tetanus shot. A&E was busy but triage was efficient in who they saw. I was a quick win and saw a nurse within half an hour. A short jaunt to the urgent care centre saw a 90 minute wait. The nurse and doctor I saw were both exceptionally friendly. The hospital has an excellent cafe/shop on the ground floor should supplies be needed. Thank you.

Medieval medical facility. Step inside and you are instantly transported to a third world country. Most of the staff are ripe for a cut. I was honestly shocked and appalled such a place could ever pass as a hospital in a country as developed as England. If this is what socialized medicine gets you then send me the bill for my next visit. Yikes 😬

I went in for a surgical abortion on Thursday. My appointment was for 7:30 arrived on time. The nurse who was supposed to register us didn’t come till 8:00 am. I was given two pills to insert to open up the cervix. After two hours I’ve experienced extreme pain ( guess labor started). I was actually shaking , cold and almost vomiting. The nurses did not attend to me whatsoever. I asked if I can have a pain killer to reduce the pain. The nurse than said she will ask a supervisor come back to me. I was clearly in pain. Crying and moaning but nobody was consulting or trying to help me. Well 10 minutes after I literally gave birth to my fetus. The nurse came and took a look under my robe and said:,, oh well did something come out? Yeah that happens. They let me sit there for another 20 minutes with my baby between my legs and other things coming out till I got escorted to the operation room. It was the most traumatic experience in my life so far.

As if I threw a bottle into the sea .... I imagine Her Royal Highness is recovering in your hospital. From France and my deep heart, I wish her, her husband and children the best. I hope she doesn't feel pain ; no doubt she'll be on her feet again very soon. Thank you to take care of her.

Went two days in a row for a very horrible stomach bug I’ve had for days. The first day I was sent straight to urgent care and only had a urine test done, which showed moderate dehydration. The A&E waiting room was very empty so they weren’t too busy to see me. The second day A&E was veryyy busy. I arrived at 9:45pm. At 2am I asked the receptionist for an update and she told me I still have 3 hours. At 4am I went back and asked the same receptionist for an update, and she realised I hadn’t had a blood test yet? Not sure whose fault this was - but supposedly I should’ve had the blood test done within the first two hours! And instead I was waiting for 6 hours and even slept on the hard chairs. Quite a few people who arrived before me were seen after. I was then sent to a smaller waiting room and it was very dirty. That is concerning considering the hospital is full of sick people. There were used cups and even vomit bowls all around. The GP who attended to me was anything by sympathetic and I had to argue getting an IV to help with my dehydration. I’ve been to UCLH twice in the past and had way better experiences, despite it being busy as well. Had they seen me properly the first time I went, it would’ve been easier for everyone, bc even the nurse on duty agreed that it was a very slow night!

Not to up to western standards. No one cares about patients, especially during the night. No one seems responsible, no doctors around to quickly have a look at new patients. Had to wait 8h, and was still told it’s going to be another 4h because no doctor available. Patients lying on the floor for hours until being noticed. Hygienic standard low-my recliner chair had blood from previous patient on it. Try to avoid this hospital if you can.

Staff are unprofessional, lacking in empathy and how to deal with patients. Doctors go missing after saying they will be back. Nurses are rude and obnoxious. Discharged and ended up back in hospital a day later internal bleeding. This isn’t the last of the matter. Please avoid this “hospital”, I think farm animals have better treatment.

Very poor attention for births. Unattentive midwifes, anesthesiologists that never showed up. It's better to choose another hospital.

Long wait and the staff really just dont care . Shame really . This hospital has active security and rightfully so , some faces that come through here can get dangerously unpredictable at night.

Bad experience with receptionists at a&e last night, never had an a&e receptionist speak to me like this at all. When I arrived, there was 2 receptionists sitting at the desk. I waited behind the line like the sign said for 2 minutes, assumed that neither of them had noticed me there despite my coughing, I then approached one of them and stood there for a minute until she said "I'm not available", so I went back and waited behind the line. When eventually called forward, they spoke to me as if I shouldn't be there, when they have no understanding of my health condition and therefore do not understand the full story, and have no medical training to understand how I could escalate without prompt treatment- it's as if they assume anyone who comes through the door is automatically a time waster. This wasn't even the first place I came to try and get help, I had asked the staff at Paddington station to search their medical room for the device I needed, and I went to Boots pharmacy but the pharmacist had gone home as it was late Sunday evening so they couldn't give me anything, and they told me the hospital was the only option. I understand they have paperwork to do "behind the scenes", but when they're both doing paperwork and there is a person standing right in front of them, surely one of them should prioritise the person in front of them. I know the NHS is overstretched but there is no excuse for this attitude towards someone who wasn't even kicking up a fuss.

Avoid the Urgent Care Centre and A&E here if you want to be seen quickly and with empathy. Waited 2 and a half hours to be laughed at by a nurse - apparently we could have been initially seen by the people who clean the toilets for all they cared. 6 people in A&E just being ignored and avoided..

My sister came with her 2-week-old daughter with an infection I mean, I went to the emergency room, besides the fact that the emergency rooms were horrible smelled of mold on the dirty floor, dirty walls as if someone had vomited on those walls.... God. One of the doctors started to squeeze her legs and hands to check her veins but not in that way, it was as if it hurt me when I saw what they were doing to my niece She had to take a serum from her spine not to get the infection to her brain, I don't know what all she did to the poor girl because the poor girl no longer had the strength to cry. More briefly horrible. I am very disappointed with St Mary's Hospital Hospital. 🥺🥺

Four years ago today I was taken to St Mary's following a serious road traffic accident. The fact that I'm alive and living my life to the full is down to the treatment and care I received. I thank everyone who helped me, you are amazing people who don't get anywhere near the recognition you deserve

Awful experience. Waited in A+E and then Urgent Care for a total of 4 hours. Watched as the receptionist at Urgent Care rolled her eyes at patients clearly in pain and was generally quite rude. Got passed around through the system all afternoon and saw others in worse condition dealing with the same. When I finally got to the doctor, they were quite dismissive and didn’t seem to be very knowledgable about basic treatments. Additionally they had very limited ability to do any diagnostic tests. They ended up giving me a speech about how it was ok to take any combination of medicines together and was dismissive of any concern I had around mixing prescriptions.

I love the NHS but St Mary's is run for people who want to work in the NHS. Patients are made to feel invalidated.. I can only add that as a cancer patient, I've asked my GP to refer me to another hospital for treatment as I wouldn't set foot in St Mary's by choice ever again..

St Mary's pretty much saved my life, and also was the birthplace of my son. Staff work very hard and are very competent. The buildings are old and need better funding for modernization, but the medicine inside is top notch and personally I can't thank them enough.

We have been here 4 HOURS after initially being told 1 hour, subsequently 2 hours now after 4 hours told to still wait. There are signs everywhere about covid and keeping 2 meters. Impossible were here as tight as possible, all seats occupied and all standing space full. An absolute nightmare and staff unable to explain why. We have been second inline for 2 of the 4 hours, shoddy is an understatement

My mother received outstanding care on Valentine Ellis ward for her hip fracture and then again in the Albert wing. My only wish is that during the afternoon they turned down the lights to give patients time to rest especially when they are elderly. Thank you to all involved and also Will the lovely physio guy from Dublin who made my mum laugh. x

Went to St Mary's today for my son's abdominal cramps. The nurse was amazing with him , despite the challenges doctors usually face because of his special needs. The nurse had such a warming personality and you could tell that he was so experienced with kids. He was calm, patient and managed to get all the checks done! (This is never the case usually). The doctor, Taylor, was so lovely too. She was very professional and reassuring. She was really patient and distracted my son with toys and bubbles. He liked her and allowed her to do her checks. I didn't manage to get the name of the nurse, but he had blonde hair, was tall and friendly looking. Thank you staff, you're absolutely amazing.

very irresponsible receptions and wait for almost 3 hours still waiting for be called to meet a proper doctor. Reception staff and nurses evade responsibility for each other only because a silly mistake of the nurse. I reasonable doubt that some of the staffs there are racists because of my experience. I haven't found in my life that it is such a difficult thing to see a doctor.

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and support I received at St. Mary Hospital during the birth of my child. From the moment I arrived at the hospital, I was greeted with warmth and compassion by your dedicated staff. Throughout the entire process, the medical team, including the doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals, demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and expertise. Their skill and commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of both me and my baby were truly remarkable. I also want to extend my appreciation for the thorough explanations provided by the doctor regarding the procedures and potential risks associated with the use of forceps. This clear communication and transparency greatly helped alleviate any concerns I had, and I felt well-informed and confident in the care I was receiving. Bringing a child into this world is a momentous event, and the support I received from your hospital made it a positive and reassuring experience. The care, attention, and medical expertise I encountered were exceptional, and I cannot thank your team enough for their role in this life-changing event. I would like to express my gratitude, in particular, to Midwife Kay, who was on duty in the Delivery Room. When I learned that I might need surgery to assist with the delivery due to the baby's face-up position, I was overcome with fear and could not help but shed tears. At that moment, Midwife Kay's explanation and comforting words provided me with tremendous strength and comforted my emotions. Her presence and guidance were truly reassuring, and I am deeply thankful for her support. Please convey my gratitude to all the staff members involved in my care, as well as anyone else behind the scenes who played a part in making my childbirth experience as smooth as possible. I am truly grateful for the excellent service provided by St. Mary Hospital. Once again, thank you for your commitment to excellence and for making a significant difference in the lives of your patients. I will forever cherish the wonderful experience I had at your hospital.

I went to a&e after feeling sick and vomiting for over 12 hours. I got through the first queue fairly quickly. The nurse listened to me and prescribed me antisickness medication and an IV drip, which I am extremely grateful for. However, I was then stuck in the tiny overpacked a&e waiting room for almost 7 hours along other patients who equally had waited for at least 5hrs. The ward was chaotic (which I expected given it was a&e) but just be prepared. Some of the staff were extremely rude and dismissive. One nurse kept shouting at people for not staying in the waiting room. But there was nowhere to sit comfortably or stand (even worse when you feel on the constant verge of vomiting). Very little empathy from staff but I imagine those who work in a&e are desensitised at this point. Thankful to my doctor (Ahmed) who really tried to make me feel better. The overall experience was depressing however. Hope the NHS can sort itself out.

It's an hospital in a very Central London area where A&E doesn't provide acute medicine services (I was told by one of the doctors). GP's are only available via phone. That's London in 2020. Pay as you don't go!

I began my maternity care here but ultimately decided to transfer to a different hospital. In fairness, I never got to meet any of the midwives in their antenatal ward (only at a community centre where I was directed to attend my booking appointment instead). The two appointments I did have for scans were somewhat chaotic and the experience was not the most professional. At the main ward where the ultrasound department is, the main hospital door is open and there is no reception or anyone advising on COVID safety. People flutter in and out finishing their cigarettes, smoke wafting into the hospital, no mask enforcement in a medical setting. There is no one to ask where to go. For the ultrasound department, my first appointment was at 8 am and there were 2 signs on the door with completely conflicting information on where to wait (either a dirty hallway or at the main entrance to the hospital….unclear). There is construction going on which only adds to the confusion. When I asked the sonographer where the antenatal ward was she said she didn’t know as it may have moved and she wasn’t sure. None of this reassured me that I would have a very good birth experience at St Mary’s so I decided to transfer my care half way through my pregnancy.

I can’t find enough words to express my gratitude to nurses and doctors in A&E. They took care of my 3 months old baby and everything was done with such a great professional care, both to parents and the baby. All of the people involved were very loving, thoughtful, respectful. All my love to doctors and nurses in the Great western ❤️

It is 9am and the hospital is already full! Patients are waiting an average of 12 hours to be seen in the emergency department. There is a simple truth in the NHS: the most seriously ill are treated first and whatever happens in one part of this complex system has inevitable knock-on effects elsewhere. This is the anatomy of the NHS - and two long years of a pandemic have taken their toll.

I was recently admitted to T Mary’s hospital for treatment towards an unbeknown, unexpected illness that required serious urgent care. I found myself in the hands of various healthcare professionals during my stay in the hospital (with the bulk of the stay being in the Major Trauma ward.) There have been an array of healthcare professionals I have dealt with over this stay however the stand out professional for me has been Nurse Ikran Hashi. Not only have I been able to experience, her care first hand, I had the pleasure of witnessing her ability to adapt to the most difficult of patients and calm them down to ensure they get the best care for them too. Ikran has been incredibly attentive towards my needs and all concerns that I had given it has been my first ever admission to hospital. Ikran showed nothing but competence when controlling my medication schedule and really left me in no doubts with her decision making. The NHS are incredibly lucky to have an employee such as Ikran and I would recommend to any future prospective employer after experiencing her services first hand.

Really hard to find your way inside, poor signage and no helping staff around. My letter said 3rd floor for x-ray, got there, was told by x-ray reception there was no x-ray on that floor, had to go to 1st floor. Arrived there, no-one to help, no reception, had to stop a random staff member and ask for help. Poor service in the x-ray room, had to change to a gown and there were no hangers for my clothes. Much better experience in the MRI department, good facilities and great and considering staff.

From the day I broke my leg to the day of my surgery, the doctors and staff were nothing but kind, accommodating, and professional. The trauma and orthopaedic team truly are one of the best I’ve ever seen. My surgery went seamlessly and I couldn’t been happier with my time as a patient at St Mary’s.

Shortage of staff. Very long wait to see a doctor for pregnancy (46 hours...), very long wait to see a doctor for a baby (37 hours after birth). Staff forgot painkillers, then the peridural. Still using laughing gas like in the 1950s in other European countries. Security guy needed 20 minutes to open the door at night as he was "away" so that I missed my child's birth. Staff is 50/50, some very nice, too many others rude. If you are pregnant, and for urgencies, better take an Eurostar to go to a developed country... it will faster and better.

I would like to thank majority of the staff at St Mary’s for taking good care of my mum while she was admitted in after a fall. As she doesn’t speak English and was very weak she wanted me to stop with her. Most of the staff were pleasant and had no problem. I was disappointed with one lady who insisted I wait outside knowing my mum is elderly and vulnerable and cannot speak English. Fortunately another nurse came out soon after allowed me in as the doctor/ registrar was doing the round and I was able to stay with my mum after. I think his name is Michael (in the EMS room) and would like to thank him for looking after my mum. I was also disappointed with another lady who (bearing in mind I had stayed with my mum throughout and slept on the chair for two nights) came round with breakfast but refused me a tea/coffee! Her reply was ‘no tea or coffee for guests that’s the NHS rule’. I was absolutely disgusted at her response as I think the other patients were as well. But Thankyou to all the other nurses, staff and doctors!

The hospital has the look and feel of a Dickensian workhouse and I suspect it will be torn down and replaced in the next decade, much like UCLH and the Royal London have been. I can only comment on the maternity services, my son was born here last year and the maternity unit and midwives were great, they accommodated all our wishes in our birth plan and even managed to find us a private room for the two nights we had to stay in with the baby. It's the only trust in London to have an "outstanding" rating for maternity services so if, like me, you can't afford to pay the Portland £7k to pop out your baby it's somewhere to consider.

Having spent the last 2 weeks in this hospital I have nothing but praise for the entire staff yes we know there are staff shortages (due to covid),but the level of care was 2nd to none. From a personal perspective I was not only put together physically but mentally too.

Just like most of the people here, I had to wait around 7 hours. And even though there’s things to improve, the service I got was kind, warm and respectful. I’ve been to ER services in SouthAmerica and Asia and waiting hours are stressful, specially when we are in pain, but at least I felt the doctors gave me their full attention and healed me. Only once you are inside you see how hectic, busy and chaotic it can get. I’m grateful for the service I got. Tip: the Tesco express down the road is open 24 hours

This hospital has gone down hill got to the hospital at 7pm. A still not seen by 12am. All black people seem to be put to 1 side Out pain is not noticeable and I have watch all black people be seen to last. Or they end up leaving b4 they are seen. Even security guys are trying to help black people be seen. So sad, you also got the homeless people plotting in the hospital to keep warm. This place has gone to the dogs.

I had an accident on February 2019 and was brought to this hospital. I was taken to the trauma ward, and treated immediately. I was here for about 4 weeks in total. The doctors and nurses were amazing. The service was above and beyond for my needs and requirements even for a stretched NHS. I cannot commend the teams I dealt with enough for professionism and knowledge of my condition after my car accident. I've had to go back a few times and still have no problem with their service as I understand everyone has been through tough times.

Had the worse patient service over the phone with front desk receptionist named Layla/Leila (works in Imperial) who was rude. I was polite, respectful and gentle but was given a know-it-all-attitude from her when she didn't listen to my basic question. Informed her gently that I was told to make an appointment there after a video workshop to see a physician at St Mary's so I can arrange an appointment for my bloodtest in Charring Cross. She said she isn't able to book an appointment as I already have an appointment at Charring Cross for a different health issue! I said this is a separate appointment and has nothing to do with Charring Cross. Layla/Leila has no manners and easily agitated. She shouldn't be a public health receptionist. 1) Did not listen to the questions properly 2) Raised her voice and gave an attitude 3) Not polite and has no basic customer service Basically, you are only allowed one appointment for one health issue and cannot make 2. Paid more than £600 for the IHS tax and then another £1,200 IHS tax, plus the ridiculously increased fees of taxpayer money deducted from our wages over the years to only be able to make 1 appointment at a time while waiting 1-2yrs to be seen is absolutely appalling. NHS, fix yourself and do better. We'd be dead and old by the time we can sort our healths and medical issues out. You take money from us but not hiring proper employees and staff and not paying them enough! Sort yourselves out.

I attended an Endoscopy appointment at St Mary's Hospital in London on Monday 17th April 2023. Acadia the specialist from the Endoscopy Department was looking after me that day and she was absolutely wonderful. Acadia was so kind and caring and explained everything to me in such clear detail. She is so highly skilled at her job in Endoscopy and so very professional. The procedure that I had was very challenging at times, however Acadia was was so very supportive and looked after me every step of the way. I am so very grateful for her incredible knowledge, her immense kindness and huge compassion. Acadia is a real credit to St Mary's Hospital in London and her expertise and kindness, just reinforces how incredible our NHS is. Huge thanks for everything Acadia, I am eternally grateful.

I was admitted to A&E last Sunday with a head injury, non urgent, subsequently upgraded to urgent. Members of my multi-disciplinary team deserve nothing but praise for their professional competence, as well as a caring and protective attitude - not easy in 30-degree heat! Just one suggestion - better signposting outside and inside the hospital would help. Thank you and good luck!

Abysmal experience, went to a&e due to fever, headache, fatigue, muscle pain, chills at 4am in the morning as I really couldn’t sleep and felt like I was dying. Waited for a couple of hours just for a supposedly qualified doctor to tell me to go home and rest and drink water, I could’ve told myself the same thing! And they have the audacity to go on strikes because of unfair pay?!? He didn’t even take my temperature! Why the hell are we paying taxes and these useless pathetic so called doctors when they can’t help with anything?!? Absolutely disgrace

I came in with an acute issue, but because my ecg was “normal” I was sent over to urgent care at midnight. Six hour wait, no place to sit inside, people literally stuck standing outside to wait for 1 doctor on duty. Please fund the dang hospital so we can see doctors promptly. This is just abysmal

Children's outpatients on level 6 had knowledgeable staff, the entrance of the hospital had unfriendly staff and volunteers wearing purple tee shirts, the pharmacy downstairs on ground floor seemed to have unprofessional staff too as they talk down at you rather than understanding the person's situation. Otherwise okay here.

The service was very poor from the nurses, especially the nurse in charge of the sick nurses. She was dizzy and would fall to the ground, and she was not helped. We spent five hours in the emergency service. The doctor asked them to do an ECG for the patient, and after an hour of waiting, the nurse in charge said that she was busy. The patient left the hospital and did not do an ECG.

This is mint wing C, at St Mary's Hospital. The entrance including the lift and the area outside the lift in the first floor is very smelly always and disgusting. But inside it is okay and the staff are very kind and supportive. The waiting area is not the best facility, but it is not the worst either. Additionally, the wing is properly equipped and serviced.

I have been coming to this hospital for years for my boys and myself. My boys would not be here today if it was not for all the staff. The cleaners porters cooks administration. They put up with a lot of rudeness anmostity, yet we are given a free service that gives us care support health. Its not always plan sailing. Never mind you get expert care. All under one roof. It cost nothing to be kind to people who are helping you in your time of need. St Mary's does this . Like our amazing NHS it needs more money. Plus people to stop abusing it and those who know what it needs to run it better be Allowed to not government who have not a clue. I owe a lot to St Mary's hospital

Absolutely the worst. I seen a circus more organised. I been trying to chase up on why one of my referrals have been delayed by over a week. It seems I cannot get a hold of anyone, as no one ever picks up a phone in this place and when they finally do they cannot help, refer you to another section that takes days of trying to ring until one guy finally picks up and he too refers you to another section that does not pick up. No one here knows what they are doing at all.

Although I did not choose to be ejected from vehicle in a 95 mph RTA and recovered on the ground on M25 over a year ago I am grateful that paramedics got me to St. Marys Hospital. This hospiral particualy emergency is example why NHS should be privatised. In emergency i encountered a robust tall dr with heavy russian accent. I told her i need prescribtion for highly contagious skin desease and she refused, she wasnt able to listen at all with patronising ' i am s Dr so i know' even after i yold her i been diagnosed with it she can look into file. After several hoursvwaiting they didnt bother to take the notes and it was a traumayic experience after i already suffer. Johnson needs to privatise it to replace this uncarying uneducated staff and management and give place to doctors who are genuine .

I don't really like this hospital tbh, it's shabby and dirty, I rarely go there but this time I have had no choice as I was referred. While the Consultant I seen in General Surgery was a great individual with a lot of empathy and understanding the Staff is overall unprofessional and abrupt, careless in their attire and not particularly memorable - at least not for good reasons -. With this said I visited the MRI department and the Staff was incredibly nice :I particularly bonded with one of the technicians and she was so kind and supportive and we giggled our way through what was an uncomfortable process. She is bubbly and pleasant, kind and respectful and I know if I go there again she would welcome me back with a smile. I don't know why the hospital is not kept cleaner, I like the Dickensian look but a lick of paint wouldn't hurt and would make patients feel more at ease, specially during the long understandable waiting times... Looking around I have noticed no cleaners, even during several hours attendance and the state of the toilets made me go back home with a full bladder and my fingers crossed I could hold it! Such a shame that the facilities are so run down, I am sure it does affect the Staff morale and doesn't motivate them to strive. Other hospitals are better equipped and taken care of so obviously it can be done! I hope St Mary's is next on the list, for the sake of the patients and the NHS workers I have a ton of respect for....

I do not find it fair policy. I decided to leave with out treatment, rather then to put mask which disturb my sick airway and make my condition worse . Entrance was difficult to locate in emergency, had to ask cafe (?) employee and they directed us to go through hallways past them up an elevator. Patients sat in the reception with us were attended to in a fair order depending on their situation. Waiting time was not clearly indicated. My friend was experiencing a psychotic episode and was attended to by a nurse after ~2hrs to assess whether further care was necessary. We were then separated from each other and I was sat in a waiting room. After around ~1hrs of waiting, I decided to find my way through the hospital to locate my friend. Staff had sat my friend alone in front of the emergency care units desk for that entire duration. I wish any of the staff had been sat with them and at least made them feel some form of comfort. They had not eaten or drank and were sat in an odd uncomfortable manner. This was all in clear view of the staff behind the desk. We then waited together an additional 5 hours in the busy hallspace, surrounded by wards of patients, with one moaning in pain in a ward next to us for this entire time. A nurse told me they were being seen to. But this environment was aggregating my friends very deep mental distress. We were not allowed to sit in a private mental ward room, which I saw on the CCTV display was empty this entire time. After a nurse became available, we were finally led into that exact empty room and the assessment procedure from there was excellent, the attending nurse was very kind and informative. Time and time again we see these stories, hospitals need more priority and funding. Praises to the staff for their continued competence under the extreme pressures brought on by the tory govs incompetence.

I was having some problems with my pregnancy and all this time the nurses and midwives were very friendly and caring until the end ,when I gave birth to a very healthy baby girl of 4 kg. So I thank the entire staff for the great work they did.

A&E doctors and nurses were amazing and extremely thorough, I was very grateful for their professionalism. Wait times can be a little long, but that is due to being a very busy central London hospital.

On 03.08.2023, around 2pm, I was admitted to ST MARYS HOSPITAL for medical care following a major trauma (back injury) resulting from a fall down 22 stairs. I was in severe pain and unable to stand, walk, or sit comfortably. Unfortunately, during my stay, I experienced distressing unprofessionalism and discriminatory behavior from a nurse Aoibheann Ann , who treated me differently based on my color and religion. The nurse's conduct towards me was profoundly disrespectful and offensive, causing me to feel undermined in my dignity and rights as a patient. She lacked empathy and effective communication, failing to adequately explain my treatment plan or address my legitimate concerns. Furthermore, I experienced prolonged discomfort as the nurse inexplicably delayed providing pain relief for over two hours, disregarding my repeated pleas for assistance. Additionally, when I attempted to document her discriminatory actions by recording a voice record, both the nurse and her supervisor confronted me and threatened me with security, coercing me to delete the evidence. To add to the distressing situation, when I sought support from other patients as witnesses to the incident, the supervisor dismissed my request, denying me the opportunity to present my case fairly. Fortunately, a police officer happened to be present during this unfortunate encounter, and upon seeking guidance, I was informed of my right to record voice evidence for the protection of my rights. I also experienced the following issues with this nurse: 1. Lack of empathy and communication: The nurse displayed a disinterest in my concerns and failed to provide adequate explanations for my treatment plan or answer my questions. 2. Delayed pain management: Despite my persistent requests, the nurse refused to provide pain relief for over two hours, which left me in considerable discomfort. 3. Concealing identity: The nurse obscured her name tag and provided a false name when asked, making it challenging for me to identify her properly. 4. Inappropriate escalation of the situation: The nurse called security when I requested her name and pain relief, which further added to my distress. 5. Disregard for patient witnesses: When I asked the supervisor nurse for support from other patients as witnesses, the request was dismissed, preventing me from receiving the support I needed. 6. Poor bedside manner: Throughout my interactions, the nurse displayed impatience and an unfriendly demeanor towards both myself and other patients. 7. Neglecting hygiene protocols: The nurse did not adhere to proper hygiene procedures, neglecting handwashing when entering and exiting room for a new patient. In a startling turn of events, when I tried to voice my complaint, they callously directed me downstairs to St. Mary's UCC instead of showing any empathy by sending me to the A&E area and following the trauma procedure. To add insult to injury, I was met with a heart-wrenching remark that I was not welcome there. The blatant disregard for my concerns left me feeling utterly disheartened and betrayed. Hence, I respectfully request a thorough and impartial investigation into this matter to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. I further urge you to take immediate and affirmative steps to address and prevent any form of discrimination within ST MARYS HOSPITAL, ensuring that all patients, regardless of their background, are treated with utmost respect and dignity. As evidence, I have retained the voice recording of the incident and kindly request that it be carefully examined as part of the investigation. And also have 3 witnesses willing to provide evidence. Came at 7.30 am for procedure, everything went quick and well, the Dr were amazing. What made the experience negative is the 4 hours wait for the medecines to be delivered by the pharmacy. The organisation could be better , also I am pregnant and didn’t eat since the evening before, at 2pm while asking if I can go have a snack or see my partner who was waiting outside, was denied till the medicine arrived and I could finally be discharged at 4pm.

Just been for review at respiratory. Saw different consultant he actually really listened taking everything seriously. and prescribed sthing to improve my health plus another help for me. He was in touch with real world and was really excellent. It s been a bad struggle especially after covid for me, and was getting very panicky again but the nurse who did vitals put my mind at rest. All staff very kind and went out of their way to help me. More thwn can say for gp unfortunately. I now have a bit of hope rather than being left to get worse. A huge thank you to him and all St Marys staff.

First time I have actually been to this hospital normally go Ealing. Went for my 3yr old niece who was visiting from India, she had stepped on a blade. Have to say received the best service, unfortunately didn’t get anyones names but the Children’s A&E staff were incredible. I left my cousin and his wife there (nieces parents), as the staff were very helpful, from what I hear, the staff were really good and hospitable. Thank you to all the staff.

overall a very good hospital, I spent a while having a bone marrow transplant. only complaint is the people who work the MRI machine. I was meant to have a scan at 2, I got there at 2 (from the ward upstairs), I had to wait an hour which I didn't mind too much but it was very cold. once I got in my legs were very itchy from a rash so I couldn't keep still. I used the little buzzer for them to get me out because the itch was so bad. they didn't respond immediately and only got me out after a couple minutes. I was waiting in a wheel chair for a porter to come and get me and the people running the mri were ranting to eachover about having to work while they had COVId (which is pretty annoying), I had COVId at the time and they knew that. didn't close the door or anything and I could hear them. I was wearing a mask to keep others safe but it felt really unprofessional.

Rarely write reviews on any platform but i had to write about this experience. Worst medical experience. Waited for almost 6 hr to see a gp. He cant even issue a medical report / letter / whatever that can prove the patient isnt fit to travel in order we can claim our travel insurance we bought from our own country. Felt like i was cheating to claim our own travel insurance when we were really experiencing some unforeseeable health issue. Its hilarious that a person which cant close her eyelid and with food and liquid coming out from her mouth when she eats is fit to travel. What if she couldnt see with just one normal eye that a car coming at her and got hit? And how fit could she be when she can bearly eat?? And the clinic dont even have an eye shield to help cover the patient's eye to prevent wind blowing towards her affected eye. All the dr. could do is cover the patient's eye with a round cotton pad (eye pad which the package said) with some tape which we did the exact same thing (with a beauty thermal eye pad or cotton pad and a medical tape we bought from boots for around £1 the day before) when visiting the a&e before being told to go to the clinic. If we knew this clinic was this incompetent, we rather not waste our time there but instead get more rest for the affected area inside our hotel room then getting stuck at an space packed with patients for 6 hrs. And the info the dr printed for us is just some nhs leaftlet he googled which i can easily search it myself. Picture provide: items on the left is what we were given cover the patient's eye after almost 6 hr of waiting and the right are items we have in hand to do the exact same thing that a so called professional medical institute can do. Also the receptionist (male) is kind of rude. The clinic was so full that there was not enough seats. We were standing at the corridor which is as the furthest away from the treatment room as we could. He then used 'patient's privacy' to tell us stand further away. But there were barely empty spaces to stand in the wating area. He did say hes sorry but i cant feel any sorry in his tone but annoyance. If this institute is so concerned with patients privacy, why didnt they do their part by installing sound proof walls?? I could hear baby crying standing at the waiting area and when we were inside the treatment room, i could hear the noise from outside the room. People outside would probably hear the conversation if people inside were talkibg loudly. Its such a joke to talk about privacy when the clinic itself isnt equipped with some appropriate facilities to prevent patients privacy from leaking. There would be more to complain about if i go on with what im unsatisfied with this visit In conclusion, the environment of the clinic, the attitude of the staff and the treatment we received, the overall experience sucks and is extremely disappointing and the level of inefficiency is shockingly low and unacceptable for a professional institute.

Went for a surgical abortion, staff were very helpful and most of the staff were lovely. Was made to feel very comfortable, all nurses really showed that they cared and wanted to make this an easier process for all the patients. It does take a few hours due to their being other patients as well but once you have had the procedure it takes about 30 minutes to an hour for you to be able to leave due to after effects etc of general anaesthesia.

Wish I could give a 0 star. This is the WORST London hospital ever. I checked in at the A+E at 12am on Saturday 16th December. I was having heart palpitations and I received an ECG which showed my heart function was ABNORMAL. I was sent to the urgent care. Arrived around 12:30am. Just one doctor was seeing all patients. Plus they allow people to jump the queue. By 8am, I hadn’t seen a doctor. Yes you read that right. Some people who arrived 5am saw the doctor before me for reasons unknown. It’s HORRIBLE. I asked the receptionist when I’ll be seen and she said another 4 hours estimate. I left and went to University College Hospital. When I got to university college hospital, I was seen by a doctor within an hour. Wish I had went there first to save myself the stress. Never again will I go to St Marys. If you have any serious condition AVOID this hospital at all costs. You will probably die from the stress of waiting.

It was the worst treatment experience that my 6 month old daughter and I had to go through !!! We went to the hospital with the problem that the baby had been vomiting for several days. The doctor prescribed a lot of examinations: CT scan of the brain, spinal cord puncture, when the results were negative, ultrasound was done and 3 different antibiotics were prescribed 3 times a day, without any diagnosis 😒 To introduce antibiotics, medical workers took the baby from me and tried to put intravenous cannula. When my baby came back to me, she was very tired and cried a lot, later I counted 34 traces of a puncture with a needle on her arms and legs even in the head!!!!!!!!🥹 The nurses of another hospital later told me that according to the protocol they can try twice, if it does not work, then stop and try twice more in an hour But not 34 times an hour, with a break of half an hour !!! As a result, we stayed in this terrible hospital for 3 days, doctors could not diagnose the baby, only her condition worsened due to a large dose of antibiotics Fortunately, we were transferred to another hospital.

I had a dreadful fall in my home on the 21st of December 2023 which resulted in my left hip breaking, from the 2 female ambulance ladies arriving until my arrival at hospital and in surgery within 8 hours I was treated with such care I will forever be grateful to all the nurses and Dr's who cared for me. I could not fault the NHS. The team at St Mary's were marvellous and the after care is a blessing on my road to recovery. Thank you all so much.

They like to mistreat their patients here, evil doctors. AVOID GOING HERE, they might try to hurt you and give you unnecessary medications. Praying for “Seven Sycamore”. Were aware of what you people do here.

🫤 I got a fit-to-fly PCR test at the Brighton branch and it was fine, all went well, friendly staff, etc. After the test I was handed a 'International Arrivals Day 2 Rapid Antigen Test Kit'. The person who gave me the kit said, "you have to do this test when you get back to the UK" and that was all. I...
