Royal Brompton has a special place in my heart(literally). I am a 42 year young man that has had 4 open heart surgeries, first was at the age of 2. I spent my 3rd birthday at the Royal Brompton and I can still remember to this day. The staff made it such a special occasion I will never forget. I will probably have to have surgery for the rest of my life due to my condition. Life has been a struggle to say the least, physically & Psychologically...but I’m still here. At this moment in time I am the fittest/healthiest I’ve ever been. I’ve climbed four of the highest mountains in Britain, of which I would never of imagined...all thanks to the hard and dedicated work the Royal Brompton give. To be able to extend another humans life is a gift in itself, of which I will be forever grateful for! ❤️

So, the hospital was hugely infected by Candida auris, but they DIDN'T inform the public. Total Hypocrits - with really dangerous attitude. An investigation SHOULD open about that!

Such an amazing hospital, care has been first class from a very highly skilled team of surgeons and nurses. Everyone was always positive, kind and happy. Food was of a really good standard. My only little niggle would be that the team did not phone through to my next of kin immediately after the operation to say how it all went but to be fair they have so much to do it's not important. I had a triple heart bypass.

Appointment staff are unhelpful, unfriendly, difficult to understand. We arrive early for my appointment and simply asked Outpatients reception WHERE my consultation will be. (The letter states arrive early. This is usually for test.) The answer received was "afternoon clinic hasn't started yet" I asked do I need pre consultation tests? They look on the computer.... They look... They can't find me. I show the letter again. She asks why I'm here??! I explain. The answer "it's not down here it's on the 3rd floor" The answer to my original question. We did manage to find the hidden cubby hole down an anonymous corridor to check in but not quite. Another appointment, another muddle. While waiting for the appointment got a text rebooking the appointment. The admin confirmed that it had been rescheduled. It takes 2 hours and £50 travel to arrive for a cancellation which had been confirmed the previous day. I was happy to wait in the narrow corridor with a lack of seats and watch as other heart patients stood against the walls, waiting. This was put right and I saw an excellent consultant whose care has been exemplorary. I can't thank the medical staff enough. They are superb. Sadly the worst location for a heart hospital and truly bizarre administration.

You will need to call the hospital to get any sort of update on your loved one after their operation. You will receive no notification of their discharge day or details of the needed after care, they will simply be transported back to you and hope you're there. You'll get one weeks prescription and be expected to organise the rest yourself with a local GP, even if the loved one is bed bound so has no hope of getting to a GP and it's in the middle of Christmas so none are open... Do not expect the staff to be fluent in English or to be able to understand you on the phone when you do call. Good luck.

Really quick, professional, thorough, and efficient. Clean too! Everything you want and need in a hospital.

Most shambolic hospital I've been to. The staff are rude, the doctors don't care particularly Dr Renzoni and her crew who couldn't give a monkeys. They consist of a student doctor who nobody likes and a stuck up woman named Adele aka the clipboard lady. The staff lie, they ignore call buttons and doss around at night. Pure negligence awaits this woeful excuse of a hospital.

Have stayed here a number of times and i cannott fault them at all. Cleanliness is spot on, food has a really good daily choice, staff are helpfull and friendly and I've always had privicy and enough respite time. Day unit is the same clean tidy and staff are extremely friendly, especially the tea lady who comes round alwa6s friendly and up for a chat

We got transferred to this hospital PICU November 2020. If you want world class expertise doctors and nurses, this is where you need to be. Every single person responsible for the care we received was incredible, knowledgeable, professional, kind, patient and kept me informed every step of the way. What a fantastic job they do. Thank you all so very much.

My mother had such a positive experience here. We were let down by so many hospitals until we did some research and came across Doctor Mathew Hind and team. What a team! The empathy, dedication, compassion, kindness, understanding we experienced was outstanding. Such amazing Doctors. Thanks to this team (especially Dr Hind) My mother is now much better from her condition. Many Doctors should follow in Dr Hinds footsteps and the world would be a better place. I would also like to include the nurses which did a great job in caring for my mother. Thank you all so much

My husband has been a patient since 2018. Unfortunately he was an inpatient recently due to his lung condition deteriorated. All staff from Consultant, cleaners, pharmacist, physiotherapists, nurses, lady who did oxygen assessment, have been kind, helpful, thoughtful and informative. After such a stressful time they have made it bearable. You should be proud!

Brompton, the best hospital. I have been treated at the hospital since the age of 8. My recent aortic valve replacement surgery was done by professor Shore on 6th July 2022, he is a gentleman of excellent personality, you are just happy when you talk to him. He has done a very good job on me for the fourth time. All the doctors were nice polite and caring. Talking about the nurses , I have no words to describe or to thank them, from intensive care to ward, all nurses were loving caring and very happy, they are never tired to look after you or to make a cup of tea for you. You just feel home. Thanks to the teams for looking after me.

A close relative was recently referred here by her consultant and given a date for a serious operation. However, the Brompton have not made any contact and are refusing to reply to any queries about whether or not this procedure is going ahead. Seeing as this just over a week away, and that I've requested time off work to travel across the country to be there, this is a completely unacceptable way to treat patients and their relatives. It really is a shameat such willful negligence exists.

My 12 year old son had cardiac arrest at school he was brought to Brompton hospital and received outstanding care . I found all care and cleanliness first rate. My son had heart operation to correct a secondary electrical pathway. The kindness and patience given is above standards expected. I found that watching nurse's ,doctors and other staff members , gave me a sense of confidence in how well their worked along side one another. Great team work x

I waited today one hour and a half for my appointment which was 5-7 minutes(((( That was in the Respiratory department. Never had to wait more than 40 minutes, so today was a big disappointed record. Just a waste of time!!! Anyway the staff, nurses etc were really nice. Big well done!

I have been suffering the after effects from covid since catching it in Dec 2020. After being referred to them, my wife and I felt more relaxed. I had so many issues that I have been told that eventually LC will kill me as my lungs are severely damaged, Daphragm is no longer of any use an a list that goes on. After that day seeing everyone at the Royal Brompton OK may have the same diagnosis but a lot further on than my hospital had given me. I’m already breathing better with a new gadget they have given me to help. We learnt more in a day than the two years being treated at the other hospital.

They saved my life. That’s all. Admin and booking stuff can be a nightmare as any other hospital I’ve been in London (I think 7) but PALS work well. When it comes to the theatre though, you get some the best professionals you can find around the planet.

Shocked with the treatment i received by the second floor staff. We travelled all the way from Saudi Arabia to have treatment on the second floor of the hospital and were embarrassed by the staff and the catering management along with our family members who were also here. Shocking behaviour. This event occurred on the 15 September 2022. The Royal Brompton need some serious due diligence done on the staff members they have employed. OPINION - Take your money elsewhere. Especially if you are from the middle east. You are treated like a third class citizen at this hospital. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU LIKE TO BE EMBARRASSED AND ANTAGONISED.

Disappointing hospital. Had thoracic surgery here and was astounded by the lack of care and total lack of adequate pain relief. I discharged myself after a week. Never, ever would I allow surgery in this so called hospital. Go to St. George’s in tooting. Far better care there. You have been warned.

They have a private patient department. Who would even want to pay extra for this dump of a hospital. Most unpleasant experience to deal with their finest staff who suffers anger and behavioural issues. Secondly I would say there is quite a few issues with qality and safety of care they deliver.

what has happened to the Royal Brompton??? I am a patient and have been years but can't get through to anyone. All options either cut you off and Outpatients dept for apptointments it doesn't recognise even though it asks you to press 1 for outpatients. I live in Kent so am clearly going to have to travel down to come in to book an appointment. Madness!

Initially I was frustrated by the difficulty I experienced contacting the staff in the office in Luther King ward; but but that changed when I guess they had a bit more time to spare me. They are busy, after all, and doing a pretty thankless job! My friend now is in the Rosa Parks ward, which I prefer and so far, during my infrequent visits, I have only had positive experiences. I found the admin. staff helpful and friendly, and the one psychologist I spoke to, compassionate and caring, and I thank everyone for the job they do here, knowing it is impossible to get it right all the time and sincerely hope they are able to help my dear friend back to a more settled and fulfilling life.

Worse experience EVER. When I was admitted the first thing I noticed was the amount of flies flying around on the nelson ward. Even more in the kitchen area. Staff making sly jokes about other patients. Patients were smoking in the bathroom and it was quite obvious but no one done anything about it even Though the whole ward stank. The bathrooms are more than dirty !! There were some lovely staff members there and I’ll always have respect for them. But a lot needs tweaking. God forbid but if I ever get admitted again to that hospital I’d actually run away . Never again

Fantastic staff, both caring and knowleable. Always exceeding expectations. Deserves recognition as the best hospital for lung conditions in UK. Having been a patient since 2015, in my experience, it is without any doubt, the most effective and efficient care centre of its kind. Thank you RBH.

Excellent team of nurses and doctors. I had a one day admission to have a cardiac catheterization and stayed on Paul Wood Ward. Everything was very well organised and procedures pre-admission were really making sure everyone is safe, healthy and Covid free. Obviously, I was very nervous when I arrived to have the procedure done and I had lots of doubts and questions. However, the ward nurses were so kind and caring and the doctor and the rest of his team were so friendly and comforting, I quickly started to feel more relaxed. The team is very international and that's what I really liked. I read someone's review that this meant they spoke broken English. This is laughable as everyone speaks perfect English. They answered all my questions before the procedure and were very patient. I was quickly seen post procedure too and well updated on the results of it and a possible further treatment. I was even asked to stay slightly longer just to make sure my heart is all fine after the catheterization, as it was beating a bit funny during the procedure. I left at the end of the day really happy about the whole experience (despite hearing sad news about my health not being as good as I would wish it to be) . I wish everyone the same positive stay and experience.

Disgusting and absurd behaviour by the catering team at the royal brompton. Asked to speak to the manager, she then came and took 2 minutes to apologise for her juniors behaviour. 30 seconds later she was laughing with her colleagues a few yards away from my room. Avoid this hotel, especially if you are from the middle east. They take advantage. Complaint was filed but nothing was followed up. Shocking behaviour.

Brother has been in the hospital in Slough for almost 2 weeks waiting for Royal Brompton to take him in. This is the 2nd time it's happening. A patient that had 4 heart surgeries and is a high risk patient. Royal Brompton keeps saying they don't have enough space and the hospital in Slough is trying to keep his heart rate balanced. You always have to chase the hospital and it's not good when you stressing out about someone's life that's on the line

The treatment I received here was life saving. Dr Peter George and the ILD team are amazing, they are very attentive and listen to all your questions and concerns and if you get ill outside of an appointment they are more than willing to see you almost straight away. The other staff including nurses and the pharmacists are all so lovely and very professional. I am lucky to be looked after by them all.

A huge thank you to Dr Kosta Stoenchev and his colleagues for their professional approach, excellent patient care and amazing support during my clinic visits. I was happy to attend the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Department at Royal Brompton & Harefield and to meet these wonderful people. I wish you prosperity and again thank you very much for your help! Valentyna Dirgelas

My son at this Hospital 10 months ago he was 29 years old he had covid lungs problems he was in icu for 10 days then he was in stable condition they moved him in word every weeks Thursday there is medical board meeting with all doctors coming from other hospitals as well they decide every patient how they can go forward we saw my son on Monday & Wednesday he is same condition stable looking better, his urine & everything he is doing they said it’s fine but after the doctors meeting on Thursday we received call from Hospital he has got infection we have to come quickly to Hospital he doesn’t have much time left we rushed to hospital they said only One or two hours left we saw they cleaning him they didn’t allow us straight go in we wonder what’s going on they must done something the reason it’s coming in our mind on Wednesday one of Hospital staff told us about last doctors meeting some of the other doctors saying why they bring him like this from other Hospital in first place they could given chances to other patient who needs less care I as a father I asked doctor If NHS can’t cover cost for my son or any better treatment I get for my son my I will take him in private they said they will do better no need The answer I get doctors I had bad feeling I made mistakes to trust them they do not want bad name For NHS that’s why they choose to end his treatment here by the name of infection he could be with us today he is so young they did not cared for our beloved son we left everything to God if we complain on that time they wouldn’t issue death certificate that’s why we didn’t do anything they even not bother to give us full report for my son what treatment he received all the way as we asked for now I ask everyone don’t trust blindly or leave everything to doctors hand as we did, Now we lost trust with all doctors

Having previously emailed to see if the charity shop was open, admittedly a couple of months back since a blue light hospital admission got in the way, I took along several thing I had crocheted during lockdown to find it shut. The hospital receptionist advised it was permanent

I had an aortic root replacement redo along with aortic and mitral valve repaired by Mr Rosendahl in July 2021. My stay at the hospital was excellent, I owe alot to the intensive care staff and Mr Rosendahl and his brilliant team. I'm doing very well now and have only good things to say about this hospital.

The care and support my son received though a very traumatic few weeks was 110% plus, Dr Begum especially and all the surgeons, plastics team the pain team, porters kitchen staff cleaners the dear man who took my son to theater and every nurse and care assistant, you will be forever in our hearts, one nurse in particular Raphael always went above and beyond his line of duty, and for that we thank him from the bottom of our hearts, what an amazing team, worth your weight in gold. An excellent team, professional kind caring and understanding to both patients and family. Alexandra Ward 93.05.23 - 22.05.23 Thank you x

Not helpful in my family's care. The paediatric respiratory team are appalling and put childrens lives at risk when it comes to mass cell activation syndrome. They have been negligent in my family's care so bad I had to pay for a private specialist. Was even lied to about the meaning of tests positive aspergillus igg by the ild team also. Will be sharing my review over social media at how bad these so called"professionals" are! 6 years of suffering including children because of you! DISGUSTING!

A Great hospital is only made possible by the staff. Medical staff go above and beyond to get you the best treatment and not only the medical side as catering staff do their best too (only one thing is all cake deserts should have a choice of custard or ice cream as dry rolypoly isn't nice). Cleaning staff very hard working too, I should know being a cleaner myself and although not in hospitals but for companies like BMW and Nokia I know what pressure is and in a hospital there must be a lot more. My deepest respect to all NHS staff Everyone who works at this hospital are always smiling and I thank you all for my stay especially Victoria Ward days and night teams. Thank you

Outstanding expertise, skill and care delivered with humanity and charm, consistently. As usual the NHS deliver a great service, although they are underpaid and underfunded. All through COVID the NHS have yet again delivered in often arduous and dangerous conditions. Thanks to all

I came here 2 years ago for a valve replacement. Top service and care from the heart Surgeons, the Nurses, the Dinner Ladies and even the Cleaners ! I was cared by the excellent Dr Cesare Quarto's team. I am the spanish lady with red hair. Muchas Gracias from the bottom of my HEART. <3. However, the outpatients staff are very rude and they don't seem to know what they are doing. My last appt was chaos! I have an appt coming up and I'm dreading it ! Hence my 4 stars given here.

Have been going since 2014, best service ever, however this week did experience a rude register, this does not impact on the hospital as a whole. Perhaps he was over worked.

I have been going to the Brompton for 4years now and I have nothing but respect and admiration for all the people who work there. I am very lucky that I get Hospital transport to and from my appointments. The transport driver Richard goes the "extra mile" with every patient and like all the transport department....they deserve a medal. Not this week. Rather rude and evasive as to how long I have to wait to get home. Better luck next time I guess....😳Richard came to my rescue again 😁

Thank you for your event at Royal Brompton Hospital yesterday. It was a wonderful afternoon, with some great information and support provided by the representatives from Zombieland. I hope that we were able to raise a good amount of money to help the hospital in its continued fight against heart disease!

Profoundly grateful for a truly amazing team of doctors and nurses in the cardiac clinic. This is our NHS at its best. They are all miracle workers and we should all feel blessed for the amazing expertise and skills of this team.

I would like to thank Nunoo the young man at reception at Fulham Road site. He spent 2hours sorting out my blood tests and kept me updated of his progress. Such kindness and empathy from the first person you see when you are worried is so heartwarming. He is such an asset to the hospital. Thank you again Nunoo.

I’ve just had a PFO closure here. From the time I went I in all staff have been so nice and friendly, professional and well organised. They have certainly made me relax and put me at ease . The team who are there waiting to do your surgery were brilliant. The care from the nurses was outstanding. Dinah on the Ward is so caring and does everything you need. Staff here are outstanding .
