Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is a beacon of excellence in paediatric care. Their history of pioneering medical breakthroughs and unwavering dedication to children's health is truly exceptional. The team at GOSH is like no other, handpicked for their passion and expertise. Special gratitude to Shirley Langham and her team, who provided top-notch care with compassion and expertise. Their impact is felt month after month, a testament to their exceptional work. But it's not just the medical staff; GOSH is supported by a community of volunteers and donors, ensuring top-tier care for all young patients. For the little ones, don't forget to visit the Disney area - a touch of magic that can make a big difference. Believe, and it all comes true. ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ GOSH, you're a shining star in the world of children's healthcare. โญ๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŒŸ

One of the best hospital i went to when i was a child with a heart problem. I had an operation when i was a kid and the staff treated me so well and treated my mum so well when we was their all throughout the years till i was 18 and left that hospital. I had some good memories of this hospital and never bad ones, i thank all the nurses and doctors that looked after me in the wards of this hospital. Still remember and miss this hospital and will be in my heart forever.

I don't understand why this hospital is given a 5 star review by some peoples? My two kids had an appointment yesterday. When I went to the hospital, I had to struggle to get up to the fourth floor with the buggy of the two children. Had to take two elevators. Among them, a manual lift cannot be used without the hospital staff. Had to wait a long time to get a staff. I went to the waiting area and saw that there was no place to sit. The reciption area staff was very rude. She doesn't listen well and answers as she likes. Weight taking room is too small very difficult to enter and stay with a small buggy. The total area was extremely hot. After many months of waiting, the doctor I got an appointment with was terribly inexperienced. Almost all the questions I was asking were answered by the nurse next to me. I of course wanted a new doctor because of the unprofessional manner of the previous doctor but found that the new doctor was actually a very new or trainee doctor. But my two sons are suffering from complex diseases. In the boys' doctor's appointment, there was a doctor's name, but I met with another doctor. The reminder SMS that was being sent before the appointment was being given a different time schedule in each SMS but I was confused as to which is the actual time schedule. In total, my children have been patients of this hospital for 5 years. They are not referring me to another hospital despite my repeated requests from the beginning. At first I thought it was a big and very nice hospital but actually they are a research center. They collected charity money in the name of children's treatment. My children have been greatly harmed by testing them with various raccoon devices in the name of using them for research purposes. My two children used to be able to walk but now they can't walk because of the color research test in this hospital. Day by day the mobility skills of the two children are losing. I am a helpless father today for the research of this hospital. I don't know where I can find this solution.

If I was to type what I wanted tooโ€ฆ ide be typing for days and days. This is the best hospital for kids, babies, toddlers, ANYONE! Iโ€™ve been a patient in this hospital from 2017 all the way up to 2022. They have saved my life and literally helped me. Iโ€™ve never had an issue here. I was an inpatient for 2 years before becoming an outpatient. The way the hospital is set up and allocated is literally the best. One of the best childrenโ€™s hospital ever. Unfortunately as Iโ€™m no longer classed as a child once I become 16 so Iโ€™ll be leaving from here and transferred to a different hospital which is classed as the โ€œadultsโ€ one. Honestly thereโ€™s no other hospital I trust more than this one. Had over 6 surgeries here and still do with no complications. Hands down the best. Thank you great Ormond street

I've been a patient here for the last 2 decades, and I can honestly say that this is by far the the best hospital in London, if not the UK or the world, for paediatric care! Even though I'm a 23 year old male and could pass off as a parent (This has happened, but I got a good laugh about it!), they've still treated me as if I was an adult in a mainstream hospital and gave me the top notch care. Every volunteer you come across are willing to help you wherever you are in the hospital, even if it's just a simple request, and they help you massively in regards to post-GOSH treatment in terms of career choices and a long-term care plan. To all those who have treated me over the last 20 years, thanks a million!

Great Ormond Street Hospital is truly magic. As a patient or parent you're not here by choice but the team are so amazing they make you feel comfortable and happy all the time! We have been in and out of GOSH for the last two years as I write this and pleased to say my daughter has completed her treatment and now living a completely normal life. The expertise on offer from everyone here is second to none. Everyone was so friendly and made us feel good. My daughter was showered with gifts and visitors which made I know is material but made her so happy. We come back for check ups now and again and my daughter actually looks forward to going to see some familiar faces (and get a toy from the gift shop) - You couldn't be in better hands! Finally, a huge thank you to everyone at Great Ormond Street for the care you should us.

I don't know how I can ever really thank Great Ormond Street Hospital and staff. You always hear about the Hospital and the great work that it does. But until you are physically thrust into it. Feet first, no-where left to turn, fire burning all around you and no water to put it out, you realise how great and how needed Great Ormond Street is needed. GOSH saved my child, like they have done for alot of others. But it's not just the Dr's and Nurses. It's the catering staff, the Cleaner's, the Workmen, the Radiologist's, the Receptionists, the Porters, the Helpers, its everybody that makes up GOSH and its surroundings. The buildings have been thought out with such care and attention to detail. The Disney are is just off from The Lagoon, which is the cateen eatery for the Hospital, but for parents and children in the Hospital for a long stint, saying your going to the canteen as opposed to saying your going to the Lagoon, both have different effects on a person's wellbeing and mental health. The Hospital as carefully thought these things through. The Lagoon leads on to the wonderful world of Disney. Where you can play till your hearts content. Young and old alike will always have time for Disney, and the memories that they have from the past or the memories that they are currently making. The Hospital is always clean. The staff are always friendly. They do not hesitate to listen to feedback if you have an issue, query or you just simply are not happy with how something is being done. GOSH is all that and more that you see in adverts. It truly is a miracle the work they do here. And the buildings here are filled with never ending love, from patients, staff and from parents.

We were in the Octavia Botar wing of GOSH and we came here with our precious 3 year old who needed to undergo 24 fasting and then a general anaesthetic to take 8-10 biopsies from her gastronomic tract. It was a 3 day, 2 night stay. We had an amazing room with an ensuite and a bed for my husband and I and my daughter was made so comfortable. Our nurses were in a league of their own. Kind, understanding, patient, we loved them all! In particular Nicole who just made everything so understandable and put us at ease. We were there when our daughter woke up from the general and the doctors and nurses in theatre were so gentle and kind. Itโ€™s such a nerve wracking experience having an operation yourself but watching a child go through it, for me, was excruciating. The team at GOSH though made it so bearable. The area around the hospital is wonderful too. Tuttis was a great cafe and there is a wonderful Skandi type coffee place across the road. THANK YOU GOSH.

My brother who has now passed. Was here 40 yrs ago with a groin abnormalitie. He had an op to put it right at the age of 10.we was here for 6 months back n fourth. We stayed over next to my bros bed, there was not any parent or family rooms to stay in as such. The doctors nurses, and carers were the very best. The 6 months we attended we got nothing but the truth and guidance of my brother Garys journey. He had a slight limp as he got in his 30 s. But from age 11 till middle 30s, he played football rode a bike, enjoyed with no pain any more in his groin.they took away bad bone, and added new somehow. Which gave him a normal life to do things. UnTill that day GREAT ORMOND STREET WE HAVE Supported. And left a mark on us. And will tell people to support and donate when they could. To this awsome caring hospital. There so blessed to have.

We had an appointment with Dr Debra Lomas at 11.30am. We checked in at 12 and only found out at 1.20pm that the doctor has left. The doctor was fully aware that we have checked in. Instead of telling us 'sorry you're late I can't see you', which we would have accepted because we were late, we were made to wait for an hour and a half only to find out that she has gone home. It was understood that she does not like seeing late patients, but to not inform us and leaving it for us to find out ourselves when we're the very last persons still waiting, I just dont understand. Our 4 year old had to take a day off school, sat waiting for 80 mins during lunchtime, only for us having to explain to her why the doctor would not see her. I dont understand how this could have happened, as she must have walked past us on her way out. The nurse who took the height and weight though was fantastic. She was very apologetic and sympathetic.

Wow, what can I say about this hospital? So my son got referred here Because he was diagnosed with a rare disease And couldn't get the treatments he needed So we'd turned up very welcomed Offered my son food After he was settled in, started doing ease treatments. We were very well looked after very friendly nurses and doctors and took good care of my son. After he was sent home they gave him a present And gave them the medication He needed to take home This hospital is fantastic what they do. Care about every patient that comes to the door. Probably one of the best children's hospitals I have been to I look forward to taking him back for more further treatments and appointments Keep up the good work

After trying to get an appointment for my son for nearly 5 years the care and attention he received in supposedly one of the only specialist hospitals in the world for his very rare condition was abysmal. No appointment with any actual specialist, no reviewing his EEG or doing a new one and no review of his medication. Just a couple of cognitive and behavioural tests, of which he has done dozens previously at other hospitals. We took him out of school for 2 days and put him in a car for 9 hours for absolutely nothing. What a joke! No thanks to GOSH my son continues to receive treatment from North Devon Hospital and Bristol Childrens Hospital.

Unfortunately I had bad experience treating my son. 1. Bumblebee ward is not good for cases need attention as we call for nurses they don't come immediately they come after 15 minutes if you are lucky. 2. Gastroenterology doctors team are very bad as they have done 5 operations to my son and want to send him after one day of operation out of hospital very unethical thing after getting paid for operation they don't care afterward. Definitely this is not best hospital in Europe by far. Very shameful

Thank you so much for the great job you do but, above all, for saving my daughterโ€™s life. With less than 48 hours to live, Dr. Nagarajan Muthialu operated on my daughter for a massive lung cyst (CPAM type 1) that prevented her from breathing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the worst moment of my life less bitter thanks to the love and professionalism of all the hospital staff. Special thanks to Scarlett and Gail, nurses in the NICU. From now on, and as a thank you, every year you will have a donation from my family, as I hope that in this way you will be able to continue to cure many more children, and do research for those who are not as lucky as my daughter Vera. 7 months later my daughter is healthy and happy to enjoy life. Every breath my daughter takes will always have a little piece of you โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

I've spend 6 weeks there and the compassion and help I've received from all the hospital members was incredible. Doctors at this hospital are true magicians, nurses and all the staff are absolutely amazing too. The doctors have saved my son's life and I will be forever grateful for that. Wouldn't have gone to another hospital with my child.

Lovely hospital , very big easy to get lost so make sure you know where your going lol. Staff were lovely on the Kingfisher ward, made sure myself , daughter and husband were comfortable during our overnight stay. Make sure you ask for a parking permit if you need one. No one tells you these things when you arrive straight away as parking is awful in the area.

Once you are at the hospital it's a great experience. However their switchboard team or the phone receptionists are the rudest people I've ever spoken to. Once they sack them GOSH is such a lovely hospital. The nurses are amazing. The doctors are lovely and so humble. Great work.

We need to teach doctors how to talk to people. I saw parents in the waiting room caring for children with serious problems. These carers would benefit from empathy and organization. As a parent battling health conditions with your child, we are battle worn but at still need to show up ready to advocate for our children as the doctors I met with had no organization or ability to explain what we needed to know or do. Imagine doctors talking in erratic, confusing circles and asking questions without listening. I felt great entering the room and completely aggravated and crying leaving. The nurses are great. The woman doing the scan was great. Hospital staff had put a lot of thought in to decorating for the holidays. There was a young woman leading an art activity for children and a talented harp player providing holiday cheer . The only problem is the doctors. I just heard an NHS doctor interviewed on the BBC and she was saying empathy is not part of the training. Interacting with the two doctors was beyond aggravating and discouraging. It was confusing too. Nurses are great. Doctors are not helpful or kind. Hospital systems could be improved and all you need to teach doctors is that you need to regulate then relate then reason. If patients arenโ€™t emotionally regulated, you need to show some empathy and some sympathy and not just say โ€œOK thenโ€ what about teaching doctors to say things like this must be so stressful. Iโ€™m so sorry of course youโ€™re tired. Thank you for showing up youโ€™re doing such a good job and things like that. The two doctors I interacted with displayed no empathy. The departments donโ€™t talk to each other so itโ€™s chaotic. Nobody gave us a letter telling us the info they would need from us so we were lot prepared. The doctor was talking in circles and would ask questions but not listen to the answers. โ€œWhat supplements are you taking?โ€ And then she was off onto something else without writing down the supplements. They are robots looking at charts and paper. It was clear they have no children or experience with what it feels like.

Am sure the hospital and staff are all fine but the hospitalโ€™s door to door charity collectors are pushy, a tad peculiar and asked very personal questions about me from my housemate, such as โ€˜is she over 35 years old?โ€™ And โ€˜when is she going to be back?โ€™ He did come back a second time as well! I donate anyway but this character has really put me off. All caught on camera.

The doctors and nurses were really good at their job and also very kind, giving me special care that went above what I thought. My stay at Weston House was seamless and it was a pretty comfy stay (especially for free), also felt like an extra part of the hospital's care for patients. I'm very thankful for the amazing care I got and recommend this place. Best hospital experience I have had in London.

Your good name and reputation is being tarnished by your charity fundraising salespeople whom are currently operating in Ripley, Derbyshire. They keep knocking on the door sending different salespeople around on a daily basis asking to sign up to regular Direct Debits. May I remind you this is against Charity Commission regulations to use high pressure tactics like this and as I say is tarnishing all the good works this Hospital does.

DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL BEFORE 9AM , APPOINTMENTS GIVEN FOR 7.30 HOWEVER WAS NOT SEEN FOR 2 HOURS OR EVEN CHECKED ON. My son was screaming and slapping himself through utter frustration but no one seemed to care. Staff were only just getting into work so I don't know why they give APPOINTMENTS so early when there isn't anybody there to see patients. Needed test that should have taken about an hour but we was there for 4 and half hours all together. This has happened for the third time now so is no way a one off

It is likely the best hospital for serious pediatric stuff. The rooms are phenomenally well preserved and equipment very modern. But the 1 way street of the NHS to manage patient care is frustrating and smacks of no consideration for people. You cant call them, they call you. And what's the point of a receptionist with bar/club make up and nails at the Main Hospital who doesnt know the way to one of the Outpatients ?

Our son visits here often owing to a life long heart condition. It's a great hospital with fantastic surgeons and nurses. The hospital does well to care for the whole family though and provides accomodation when it's needed (ICU) and or travelling a long way for an early appointment. PALs takes feedback seriously and actions accordingly providing a very efficient service, the hospital also responds well to constructive criticism and provides comprehensive details on what actions will be taken to remedy any issues that have been reported. We couldn't ask for more from a hospital and it's starting to feel like a second home now, given the amount of time we have spent here.

Amazing urology Team! Excellent care for children. As every child is, my son was also scared of all the upcoming surgeries but the team and the surgeon have been outstanding in making him feel comfortable.

I have two daughters under the care of the Cardiac Team, both receiving open heart surgery and, with both experiences, the staff have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional care of my daughters. Even the Play Team, nurses, receptionists - everybody at that hospital ensures the child is always put first. Forever grateful and thankful for the life saving surgery they have given my children. Thank you.

Super Hospital. Great doctors. Dedicated, helpful and nice nurses. The best hospital. They know what they are doing.. the atmosphere there is great. The doctors told us to feel at home there. When I wanted to go out and buy something to eat, the nurses had no problem staying with my son, although the lunches and dinners there are really delicious and I received them, although it was my son. he was a patient. I could drink coffee or Cherbate as much as I wanted. Another advantage is that there is a place to take a bath. I had my own room and my husband and older son even got a hotel belonging to the hospital for Christmas so that they could be here with me and our baby. You are all great, including the lady who gives food and the ladies and gentlemen who support us there too. You are all great, every single one. Thank you for everything and for your support and help when I needed a kind word.โค๏ธ You are the best.. Everyone....

Wonderful as GOSH has been for many sick children and will continue to do so is how it should be. Unfortunately for my husband and I it was an unforgivable disaster. Admittedly I am referring way back many years when my beautiful son Kevin was 8 years old . He was unwell and my gp referred him to GOSH, biggest mistake of his life. The staff who attended him at that time was Dr.Alexander; Dr Grant, Sister Mac and Dr Howarth all I assume are now retired. I, personally lived at GOSH for 4 weeks I refused to leave my son I even cooked his meals luckily there was local shops nearby. The kitchens back then were quite large but overcrowded with staff with mums and dads like myself.. Our son was very unwell but most lively and gifted as he was obsessed with the history of pre historical monsters of their time. Mary Goodwin was his nurse and wonderful mentor unlike the ruling white coated drs. We only got an inkling that it may be Lymhosoco? until he died some time later.. This tragedy ruin our rives and I am sure many other lives whoโ€™s children had died.. We โ€also had a small daughter so life had to on. We joined a special group who were unhappy with the then workings of this great Hospital all wasnโ€™t as it should have been.. A group of patients was organised and we took GOSH into court for taking the body organs of our darling children without permission. The sheer audacity and damage it did to we, as parents was horrendous and will never be forgiven. At that time we were cared for by I believe her name was Sister Mary Goodwin, obviously now retired GOD BLESS HER, only wish I could contact her but phoning GOSH is like phoning the moon. There is a saying โ€˜one should never look backโ€™ but our son was gifted in his ability to write stories and draw prehistoric monster before present time booksellers actually gave insights to the past. . We canโ€™t turn time back and I most certainly wouldnโ€™t wish GOSH to any child but on writing that sentence I dearly hope the hospital has changed beyond my recognition and is now the Hospital it should have been during the 60โ€™s and 70โ€™s and hopefully the drs, surgeons, nurses were all of one mind โ€œ The Child always comes firstโ€.
