Specific to Appointments Team, in my case regarding physiotherapy. I went with a large, private healthcare provider as I figured they would have the resources to allow for minimal hassle when fitting appointments etc around a busy work life. Instead, the service I've received has been deeply unprofessional and it is no exaggeration to say that I spend almost as much time chasing to get in contact regarding an appointment. I resorted to sending emails, as you are left perpetually on hold when calling. However, HCA usually don't bother emailing you back, or even acknowledging the communication. Instead I get frequent missed calls and voice messages from them asking to call back, where I am stuck on hold again. I don't think they understand who the customer is in the relationship as I am continuously doing the chasing. When you need to cancel, you can't get in touch so often run into a late cancellation fee. In fact, their first instinct is to look at charging a fee. Only to have to spend another 3-4 phonecalls explaining to them that you have emailed well in advance of the cut off. Online forms need to be refilled manually when at the clinics 9 times out of 10. The disjointed approach and lack of professionalism is genuinely shocking. After over 1 year, and excess of 15 appointments I am speaking on experience. After my remaining sessions conclude, I'm done with HCA for re-occuring.

Writing this review after ended up going desperately to the nhs and a lot happier now ! I came to HCA for different consultations during my time in London, chronic sinusitis and later on gynecology. It was a lot of (expensive) appointments, stress and no clear solution provided. The doctors were all very nice, but I felt like they were never resolving the issue deep down. Just providing an other nose spray or an other test. They seem overwhelmed by patients and not really able to provide a personal follow and understanding of your health history. Very frustrating, as I expected a higher level of service and qualification from the specialists in a private clinic. It doesn’t feel good to write a bad review but I don’t really recommend this place.

This is a very disorganized clinic with different receptions teams coming across as rivals as they send patients from pillar to post and openly complain about the other reception desks. Doctor doesn't call at the time they say they will which is very inconvenient. My problem of a reoccurring UTI was not dealt with at all, I had two appointments and was given a week's worth of antibiotics - which is exactly what my GP had been doing hence why I was referred. Felt completely dismissed and not listened to as a patient. I ended up going to another private clinic at Harley street and the care received there is exemplary! I wouldn't recommend attending this clinic.

Absolutely no faults with my consultant and nurses that I am dealing with however the staff across the reception areas etc are extremely poor. I needed to pay my invoice, I was told at one reception you can't pay here, pay at another, went to pay at another, they then told me to go back to the original one. It' all over the place. In addition, staff are extremely rude and quite intimidating.

Service I received from Professor Mundy was non existent and extremely unprofessional. My appointment was at 3pm, Mr Mundy was running behind schedule and called me into the office at 3.15. I came prepared with printout of all my tests, these included urodynamics, prior operation doctors notes and still images from a previous cystoscopy. After glamming over notes with very little interest he told me he needs to do a cystoscopy. I told him I've had three cystoscopies already this year and provided full results to him. I asked him can he at least give me some diagnosis and asked him about treatments that he carries out. At which point he stood up, gesturing for me to leave with no diagnosis what so ever. Appointment ws over in 5 minutes and I was told to leave the room at 3.20pm. I paid 375£ for 5 minutes and no diagnosis at all. If Mr Mundy is tired of his job he should stop practicing as his interest is clearly very low.

Unprofessional and unwelcoming pharmacists and receptionists (barring receptionists at the ground floor). Informed me that they could not fulfill half of my prescription. Proceeded to stand in front of the receptionist at the pharmacy for 30 minutes before having to ask what's happening and being told that I would have to go elsewhere to get the prescription fulfilled as they couldn't split the prescription. Such a useless waste of time. However, Dr Seth at London bridge sports medicine which operates from the same building was helpful as always

Rubbish. I booked an appointment via consultant's website that didn't go anywhere, then called HCA/LBG hospital direct to check there was an appointment in the system for me. There wasn't. Helpful HCA chap booked me in and sent me all the details. Got there for my appointment. HCA nurses checked me in, sat me down to wait for him... without thinking to check he was actually there... he wasn't. After 25 minutes I asked them if he had arrived yet... blank faces. They called him on his mobile. Yes I'd been given an appointment but no-one had actually told the consultant!!! Lovely man. Offered to trek in to London, but booked me in to different hospital nearer my home the following day... I got back on the train out of London. HCA has lovely and swanky suites etc but zero communications...

If I could give 0 - I would. Came here to do screening for a transfer visa, sent all the requirement prior and privately paid. I had to call 5 times a day correcting peoples mistakes, asking for things doctors promised but not delivered, and generally locating the people responsible. Their admin staff are completely incompetent, uncoordinated and should be sacked or trained properly. Never again

I want to make clear that my doctor is fantastic and this review is regarding HCA healthcare as an organisation. The receptionists are incredibly rude at the door by the lifts - make an effort every month to be cheery and they are rude and blunt. The queues for the reception at L4 is shocking, you online register before coming and still have to register when you get to reception - makes no sense. New policy introduced to have a card on file even if you are insured. No communication of this new policy. Nurses are scattered everywhere running around trying to get on top of things, whatever process is in place is not working. I genuinely dread coming here every month and for more next treatment will avoid at all costs.

I would give the consultant Dr. Karuppaiah more than 5 stars for the treatment I received. World class surgeon! I would also give more than 5 stars to London Bridge hospital where I had the surgery. Top class facilities and top clasd care by all nurses and other personal and I really mean it. Unfortunately it appears that the standards of the physio department have dropped ways below their usually very hight standards. I had a top physio treatment earlier this year but now it takes them ages to answer queries, book physio even in urgent cases. Spent 2 days and 8 phone calls with various people who kept transferring my calls or frequently cut off the calls in the middle of what meant to be a short conversation! Technical issues? If these are really technical issues, and of course these are always possible ... but no call back, email, text ..., nothing at all back to address the patient needs . It feels like pure admin in the Shard rather then a world class physio...Had no choice but to book the physio with another company. Very pity. Hope they go back to their high standards soon but for the time being it is a real pain to book any physio at all so go somewhere else.

Excellent self service which is the most important. The administration process however needs improvement: although the registration process can be completed online, including the signature when you visit and go to reception you are given two paper copies, sign AGAIN in one of them and give it to the nurses.! In general, strongly recommended of course. I hope at some point even the registration process will reach the high levels of the health service

Doctor Leslie is murder!!! They told, they help, but nothing been done charge 260 pounds been paid for information she not deal with sores, she only deal with skin they told it is , no service been provided, it is like fraud. After 4 days we received additional Bill like we need pay for 89 pounds, for dressing change, she change plaster which been tooked from my parents, now my father in abroad in critical condition!! Because DR. LESLIE lied she can deal with that until we get to by fraud took money. Shame to HCA and to useless doctor Leslie, also try to contact with them, not answear all day, but there 3 receiption I cannot believe someone cannot answear!!! When I ask why I should pay 89 pound if we already pay, 260 pound for service which wasnt been provided, they told dressing when I requiest full statement, they ignoret my requiest. Miserable customer service and people of that clinic, not advice to use them.

My friend and I had been there for consultation of urology problems. And when we came they asked for only patient coming in. It’s strange because I think at least 1 people should allowed to coming in with patient. That’s fine until they charge for consulting with 320 pounds ( just for 10 minutes) We came home with 3 paper and paid for 320 pounds for nothings. That’s ridiculous cuz it wasted of out time and money Never come to this place anymore!

Very rude receptionists on both 4/F and 6/F (probably all of them), I wonder where they recruited these people. GP is useless, told him I have discomfort on my left eye, he wrote right eye on the referral.

Great patient care. I was very impressed with the lovely lady working at the patient reception of the Shard clinic. Her name is Samia Shireen. She was so welcoming and very professional. Made me feel at ease instantly. An asset to HCA. Thank you! Dr Ashour

Not a nice environment, considering it’s the shard , waiting rooms are on corridors like at school. Staff don’t seem to like working there , always complaining and wishing it was time to go home , they don’t even say hello when you approach the reception , I asked for a copy of my consultation to be posted to me , and was asked had I not got a printer ! I’ve had consultations at Cleveland clinic , excellent by contrast , helpful and friendly staff who offer you a tea / coffee I’ll definitely go to Cleveland next time I have a choice

Received inadequate burn treatment. Waste of time. Was in severe pain from hot liquid burn. Useless nurse was unhelpful just placed a scratchy dry bandage. No burn gel. Two other staff then walked in for a chat and to watch at the door which was wide open, so no privacy. All off them should return to medical school or barred from practising! Ended up using cooling and burn creams myself and my wonderful Indian dr friend from another hospital offered me jello cooling bandages which gave relief. UK has many inept dr’s.

Dreadful service. Asked for my insurance case number before my appointment, demanded card details before they'd see me and then charged it £200 after I'd provided the insurance number. Still not resolved a month later.

The reception downstairs was quite polite. But I had to walk to different receptions in the upstairs and wait for the nurse to register me because there was no body in the reception I was supposed to go to on the 6th floor. More importantly, Dr Scarpinata has the worst attitude among all the doctors I met in my life. She wasn’t friendly at all right since the beginning. She was very cold and arrogant. She didn’t seem to believe me when I told her about my symptom being much worse last week. She didn’t give my any warnings about how painful the examination would be. She did it and I almost cried. It would be nice to get some heads up on what’s happening and how painful it might get. She was honest about the fact I don’t need a surgery but I wasn’t impressed with her attitude at all. Also the symptom got worse after that visit. I wouldn’t ever want to go back there again.

The consultant I have dealt with is great but the booking service and procedure is AWFUL. Ignored multiple voice messages for a week before saying “sorry we had a technical issue”. Booked an appointment and was told I need to see the consultant before I have tests. Get messaged two days late with the opposite info. Subsequently appointments rearranged and delayed. This is annoying and unnecessary- sort it out.

This is a profit making business. Do not forget that. The objective may very well be to give you an appropriate level of medical care, BUT they will fleece you (or your insurance company) at every opportunity.

Low rating, if you are Self-funded Outpatient. The hospital is superb in terms of efficiency and professionalism, BUT their fees are three times the fees of comparable clinics. If you can rely on private insurance, go ahead and get a consultation, if not please do research about prices before getting an appointment booked.

I can’t have asked for a better experience. I went in for an initial consultation and was expecting a turnaround/wait of around a month for a surgery required post-consultation. Dr Leslie was able to organise a same-day surgery for me which was fantastic, especially considering that my issue had been ongoing for a year (due to NHS being unable to operate for ‘necessity’ reasons). The staff were also most helpful with assisting me with contacting my health insurance provider to speed up the claims processing, as this is usually a 4-day process. Roger was fantastic and is an asset to the team. Miss Mohanna was brilliant and led me through the surgery in a professional and courteous manner. A huge thank you to everyone!

I had a consultation with Dr S. Mohamed was really pleased with the service I received, made me fill that everything I wanted was no problem. Staff when booking were excellent and spent time explaining what is involved and answering the many questions I had, which I never really got with other companies I had contacted. Not had the operation yet, but if the standard stays consistent, then I will highly recommend.

Had an appointment here with Dr.Seth! Lovely appointment and showed his knowledge about the knee structure which was impressive to learn about. Only 4 stars though as if I was self funded, wouldn’t be able to afford. B HR if you have private insurance, well worth your time

I found the booking process to see a consultant in complex spinal surgery really simple. The centre is immaculately clean and the staff in all the floors I visited were very polite and keen to assist. I saw a consultant in complex spinal Surgery, Mr Fady Sedra. I found him extremely knowledgeable and very polite. He answered all my questions and I was throughly examined by him and potential treatments and options He explained the options, the implications and allowed me to make a choice. As a GP and a practicing doctor for last 38 years, I will have no hesitation in recommending this centre and surgeon to my patients with private insurance or wishing to personally fund for their care. Keep it up. Dr Mustapha Tahir LLM MBBS MRCGP DFSRH DMLE

Although the 'front door' to HCA Healthcare is small, and a little cramped if there are a number of people arriving at the same time, but once you are in the lift to the appropriate floor, you enter another world. The corridors, reception areas and consulting rooms are all very clean and tidy and there is a genuine desire to please, by all the staff I came across. The clinical care and diagnosis was second to none and I would recommend it to anyone seeking healthcare support in whatever form.

I would like to personally thank everyone involved in helping me beat prostate cancer. Special mention to Declan Cahill - world class Consultant Uroligical Surgeon and a very pleasant and genuine man. Dr. Netty Kinsella - very pleasant and knowledgeable. Been there a couple of times and seen 3 different consultants and they were all so kind and understanding and definitely made me feel like I’m in a safe space. The place is immaculately clean and quiet, and one of the best facilities I've ever visited. Ms Fitzgerald was quick to answer all my questions (which was many) and even went through with the MRI scans. Unfortunately getting through via the phone is tricky and not always clear I'm calling the right number.

I came to see Dr Adam Woo because I was struggling with pain. I was charged £950 for nerve blocks which did not nothing to help my pain. This was an extortionate amount to be charged for nerve blocks. Waste of money. Continue to see your GP and keep exploring options with them. I've now found that Sertraline 100mg can effectively reduce my pain.

3 sections in this review: 1) They deduct money automatically without notifying the patient. Swab test done on 10/Oct/2023. Cost of swab test deducted on 26/10/2023 Invoice received on 30/10/2023 [after deduction on their own] 2) Dr. Leslie was in a hurry and spoke very technical without giving room to understand what she is upto. She showed non-welcoming attitude all the time. 3) Initial consultation- £260. Another £230 - just to disclose if bacterial infection is there or not [Yes or No]. Total rip off. I would not recommend at all.

I was a bit worried about going here after reading the negative reviews but I needn't have been! Reception desks were friendly, helpful and polite. I had completed the pre registration online and didn't need to re do this as some people have stated, for me the process was very smooth and efficient. I arrived early for my appointment and I was actually seen way ahead of schedule so there was zero wait time. Dr. Tabi Leslie was extremely reassuring, knowledgeable and thorough. She even called the office for the next consultant she recommended as a follow up there and then during my appointment. I didn't feel rushed or dismissed and she answered any of my questions in clear terms without any medical jargon. For my visit there was nothing that could be improved! Thank you

I saw Dr. Lucy Kerrison, a dietitian at HCA Healthcare, for my longstanding digestive issues. She listened to my concerns attentively and provided me some insights into my issues from both a scientific angle and an understanding of my personal lifestyle. The consultation was an enjoyable experience, very much like a chat, after which I felt equipped with the knowledge that I wanted to know, and the mystery over the long-term digestive issues I have been having was explained to a satisfactory extend.

I've had a wonderful experience with Dr Powrie at HCA. The place is very modern and clean. The staff have all been wonderful every time I've visited and in particular Dr Powrie was a breath of fresh air. He listened and really made me feel understood which I think is key when you're treating someone that's distressed about their health. Within a week all the test results had come back and he walked me through them. I can't recommend him enough :)

I was pleasantly surprised. Yes there are multiple receptions and clinics but it is very well laid out. Just go to the main reception upon arrival and they will direct you. Everything else is well sign posted. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Very clean and well managed with the ongoing C-19 pandemic. I was seen to on time.

One of the worst MRI departments ever London Bridge Hospital, appointment run late, not friendly, once done throw you out in the corridor undressed for you to figure out where you need to go. They get terribly annoyed if you’re in the scanner for over 2 hours and feeling cold, don’t give you a blanket apparently needs to be freezing for better images. Just awful service from start to finish. Forever being thrown pillar to post when booking the appointment. If I could give no star I would - throwing good money after bad service

I am very disappointed with this clinic. I was charged £600 for some blood tests after 2 month of doing it but I never received the results. I did the blood tests together with a private consultation to find out what was wrong. After the consultation I decided not to go ahead with further visits as they were not going to be covered by my Medical Insurance Company. Regardless, I wanted to know if my blood results were ok, even because I wanted to know about a possible food intolerance. When I asked about fixing a follow up with the doctor to know about my blood results at least, the reply I got was:”please confirm you made the payment for the initial consultation “. And after that they disappeared. I felt completely ignored because I decided not to go ahead with the further visits. I am trying to get in touch with them everyday. I am calling every single day and I sent two emails and still nothing. I hope someone from the company will see this review and hopefully will get in touch with me. I sent the screenshots of all the conversation I had with their employee so I hope they will check it and contact me and refund me. Anyway, in the meantime I advice everybody to stay away from this clinic.

Mr Arun Sahai is the best medical professional I have ever had the pleasure to be treated by. His expertise and professionalism is unrivalled. His secretary Jeanette Bush cannot do more for his patients, her response times are amazing and all the help and assistance she offers is fantastic. Desire the anaesthetist for both of my surgeries was also fantastic, she made me feel so comfortable and relaxed at such an anxious time. Larissa the physical I saw for 3 sessions also explained and gave me so much understanding and is so knowledgable and helped me with things that is didn’t even realise were related or a problem. Every test that was carried out no matter how uncomfortable, I was treated with the upmost respect and made to feel as comfortable and reassured as I possibly could be. After my procedure learning about the divorce fitted was so smooth as Rebecca explained everything perfectly. Not only to myself but to my boyfriend who was with me. The level of experience and reassurance and confidence I was given from this entire experience is unbelievable. Considering this was for a troubling medical issue that made all parts of my life so difficult and such a struggle I cannot be happier with the outcome and that is due to everyone i encountered. I cannot thank everyone enough and show my appreciation. The issue I had, I had minimal confidence it could be helped and I would be stuck with it and thanks to Mr Sahai and all his team I have had a 100% success, I couldn’t have asked for more.

A short walk from London Bridge Station, however, unlike trains, the appointment was on time! The ENT Consultant listened to our concerns and was very reassuring when explaining the options available after a course of treatment and if it fails. We would definitely recommend going private if you gave very real worries about your health.

I attended HCA at The Shard last week and can say I was very impressed. On entering the building I was greeted and given directions to my appointment. Once at the reception area I met with a very pleasant receptionist who took my details. I took a seat and was then met by my consultant, Mr Tavakkolizadeh. During my consultation I received the greatest of care and understanding. Everything was clearly explained to me and I left feeling very optimistic.
