The gym is like a maze, split into many rooms, and floors deep in the basement. You can play hide and seek after your workout 🤠. Very central location if you are in central London Piccadilly Circus is the nearest tube station to the gym. Pump and go clubbing show some muscles 💪 :) well though Pure gym. The gym is tidy clean not busy late hours if you do late workout. Sometimes you can get confused inside the gym finding your way from the trying are to the changing room and back.

I came here a few weeks back as I was working locally. At first, I was a little confusing how to get round and find things, as the gym is spread out over a few floors and stair cases are all over the place. But I quickly got used to it. The gym is well equipped, and has a fairly big changing room (long and narrow). It’s located at a very busy main road, so if you do drive to the gym, expect to walk a little to get to the gym. The showers were nice and hot too, so the experience was a pleasant one!

Water drinks machine that I’m paying extra for hasn’t worked for over a month due to “pump issues” Men showers are constantly dirty The vending machines almost always are “offline” or “cash only” due to WiFi issues Honestly save yourself time and go to one of the other pure gyms branches this gym is in a major decline Only good thing is that it has a big cardio treadmill bikes etc Free weights are pretty much mostly busy And seriously why is there only 2 flat bench press benches and no decline or incline for barbel Having to risk injury by using a sit up bench to do a barbel press honestly shambles. Gym needs a major refurbishment

I really would not recommend this gym. Firstly it's true THE SMELL! I know as soon as I go through those tube doors it's going to smell and it really does put you off your workout. It's hard to describe the stench exactly but it smells like food. I think it's the workers heating up food in the break room or a nearby restaurant pumping in the fumes. Ventilation is bad and it feels damp. Men's changing rooms has had a sink out of order ever since I have joined. There is only one hand dryer and it's been out of order for weeks. Staff don't care at all compared to other branches and who can blame them working in that basement. You will never see the 'PTs' training anyone who is close to in shape. I wonder why? If your just starting out go elsewhere. The whole place is cramped and could do with some attention. It's bad because I've visited other branches which are cheaper and much much better . It's better than not going to the gym but only just.

The gym is totally mismanaged and understaffed. This means that equipment/bathrooms are often left broken for weeks, and the gym floor is usually untidy with equipment all over the floor. In sum: the gym desperately needs a management overhaul as well as more staff. Ok thank you for the update. Regarding the bathroom/shower situation, 2 out of the 3 female bathroom cubicles have been out of service for several days, and this seems to be a recurring theme, which needs addressing. Separately, there’s a smell of cannabis coming out of the lockers next to the vending machines – will this be addressed? Thanks

Used to love going to this gym but they kept changing the timetable over and over making the times for the classes more and more inconvenient. If you can see a class is very successful and popular due to the high number of people that attend the class, why will you then change the timetable? It's like they don't want people to attend the classes. Makes no sense. I've had to change gyms now because i was tired of having to work around their constant timetable changes.

he gym is not too bad, water in the shower cold.. the AC too high in the changing room and expecially shower area.. wifi shame it doesn't cover the all gym only at the entrance.. the gym in centre london is expensive but lack of details.. better chose a different gym if this details are not fixed.

Staff is constantly blocking my access. I cannot even use the gym to find it's glitches. Otherwise, looks fine. Somewhat spacious and equipment in good condition.

Unfortunatley this particular PureGym seems to be the worst, ironic it’s more expensive than most. Half the gym does not has access to WiFi and the building is underground so you would think that would be a priority, this could be sorted in days in the will was there. Only 2 squat wracks means a long wait in an empty gym if they are being used.

Good convenient gym with a decent range of equipment. only issue is really bad wifi signal for their free O2 wifi, and occasionally running out of cleaning detergent at the stations having to go to another one instead.

It’s almost 2023, and they still can’t sort out reliable Wi-Fi to access. It’s been like this for years. Come on PureGym! UPDATE: Your reply on how to access the Wi-Fi is not correct and your staff confirmed only accessible through the O2 connection which is unreliable.

You see the warnings “put your weights back or loose your membership” however same culprits making this gym a mess and they are just allowed to do it. Perhaps the staff are afraid of them, what will it take? Me failing over and breaking my neck because Steve the steroid head is too precious to put his weights back?? Grow a back bone guys it’s your gym tell them to do one if they don’t respect the space.

Air conditioning in free weights room has not worked (or has just been so incredibly ineffective that it may as well not be there) since I joined (coming 3 times a week since April). Given the basement level of gym, and increasing attendance, it’s now unbearable in the higher sections of the gym. Members of staff/pure gym PTs acknowledge the problem, but nothing is done. Wi-Fi is terrible both in signal strength and (when connected) internet speed. The worst communal Wi-Fi I’ve connected to in years. One machine which is an integral part of a couple of our workouts has been out of order for more than 4 weeks. Given the amount of time that machines and air conditioning are left without repair, I’m concerned about whether or not the PureGym team care about the experience of their members.

I could not recommend Pure Gym. Honestly your experience may vary, however here is my opinion about this company. 1) Pure Gym price is somewhat competitive. 2) Pure Gym customer service is literally the worst in the world. If you contact them with what ever the reason, you will leave the conversation or the call with twice as many issues than you begin with. It is a total disgrace! 3) Gyms themselves are most bare bone gyms (no extra perks here). It is good for someone who is a gym junkie, however you should not expect any comfort here. 4) It was quite a nice gym when it was LA Fitness, now it is really simply not worth using it. Think twice before you sign up, because canceling the membership is also a nightmare.

06-01-23 The gym is in the process of being upgraded, and will be a great improvement once it's completed . It is open but some of the equipment is not in use. Good for a workout in a pinch, But it's advisable to visit another pure gym location until the refurbishment here is complete of your looking for a full fledged workout

The new manager is great, he knows his stuff and is super helpful. I have been going to this gym periodically for 5-6 years and it’s in such a great location with all the basic equipment you need. No frills, just an affordable space to work out, which is what makes PureGym so great.

HIGH MEMBER FEE FOR EXPATS AND INTERNATIONALS - without a UK bank account you cannot renew the direct debit after the first time. Therefore, you are subscribed at the beginning paying the subscription fee and then have to move to the 3 or 6 months membership - WHICH IS ALMOST TWO TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE. RIDICOLOUS. Unprofessional staff - ONLY ASSIST YOU IF PAYING AS PERSONAL TRAINER, NO PROPER WIFI connection - the current one is horrible. only positive point is LOCATION - walking distance to Piccadilly metro station.

I like everything about this gym (staff, layout, people). I go there before/after work, and in normal years usually at night. Even now I'm traveling from Penge just because I like it more than Croydon. And yet, the resistance area is at least once a month (for few days) closed because of flooding. And it's really frustrating, especially when you travel there and the gym sends you a warning email 5 hours after opening, when you were just about to enter. Also, people that would have used the resistance area are now using other available areas. So, 40 people in gym app doesn't seem that many but it's 40 people in the gym with no access to downstairs and now it's get really busy. PureGym Piccadilly, was there ever a month with no flooding?

I pay £46.99 for a Plus membership, and my home gym is London Piccadily. Yesterday at around 6:30pm, I tried accessing the gym doors for nearly 20 minutes, and none of the doors were able to let me in. I tried scanning the QR code, and PIN code - so many many times. It just kept failing to let me in. After struggling for nearly 20 minutes, I tried pressing the help button to alert support, and no one was around to help me. I received a very un-helpful SMS to my mobile saying the following auto-reply: "Hi Dinesh. Please use the main PODs, rather than the easy access door. If you require access to this door, contact your Gym Manager. PureGym" Question is, does the above message do any help to members ? I have inspected all available access areas in the floor and other floors, there are no other entry places. I found that other members were able to enter throught the same doors I tried without any issues. After that, I tried emailing Puregym, via a support email that they had sticked on the wall. After emailing them I received a reply email which says: "The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly" Yesterday date was 23rd Dec - so the entire Gym support team is already gone for Christmas holidays and your support system is also all shutdown ? Is this a bank holiday ? There's practically no humans supporting the gym, and if you don't have anyone present, you need to ensure your access doors work for members (who travel from far away places). In my case I'm also a Plus member. I just don't understand the point of paying all these high prices for these kind of service. Today, I have just completed my membership cancellation on your website, and I will be going to another better gym outlet nearby. Thanks Puregym.

The worst gym I’ve ever been to. Save your money! The smell that greets you is the worst smell ever, it’s disgusting, there is nothing like it, it puts me off actually going to the gym. I have never once seen a cleaner, tissues and chewing gum have been left on machines for days which proves this point. The machine handles are sticky with other peoples sweat, there is nothing to wipe machines down with. The air con is pretty much non-existent, so being an underground gym, it is hell. The WiFi also doesn’t work properly; it takes ages to connect and cuts out randomly. Great for an underground gym where getting signal is near impossible. No staff around to help if there are any issues, only personal trainers who are too interested in making money and standing around in groups judging members and looking down on them for their appearance, by giving unwelcoming looks. A few of these members of staff love to be super noisy and don’t care about general members of the gym. The only redeeming factor is the location.

Was visiting from the States and only in London for a week but wanted to continue working out. 24hr access was huge. I am used to a very different schedule than many (most?) Londoners and most of the gyms in the area had limited or late start times (who opens their gym at 8? … what kind of schedule do you have to make that work?). With regards to the gym itself … it is small but clean and has everything that you need for a decent workout. Go early-ish and you don’t have to wait for any equipment … almost have the place to yourself. Regulars seem to struggle with putting their weights back but that really just irritates the little OCD gremlin in me. All in all, was pleased with my experience and will use them again when I next in London.

A 24/7 gym already deserves a good grade just for the opening hours. Wish any gyms could have the same opening times. The mobile app is well made, easy to get access to the gym or membership. The gym itself is a bit meh, machines feel a bit old and the gym being in the basement with no windows feels unwelcoming and slightly oppressed. It does the job nonetheless and it's convenient.

For a budget friendly gym, fantastic equipment. Has everything you want and more. Yes, no fluffy towels or immaculately kept gym floor, but it does the job. Hard training atmosphere in there, which makes it a fantastic place to workout. Have been running my business from here for the last 2 years, and wouldn't change anything. Highly recommend.

I really loved this gym- I was a member for nearly 2 years and then changed jobs so moved gyms. I would definitely recommend this gym if you want a well priced gym in central London. I used to mainly do classes which were great. Agata’s Pump class on Tuesday and Friday was amazing- she is so full of energy and really kept me motivated and pushing myself- fantastic trainer! The spin classes were also great. The changing rooms are basic but I don’t think you should expect much more for the price you pay. The gym is well equipped and I found other gym members and staff friendly and respectful of each other.

I'm giving up on using this place, if you're here you don't have a signal on your cell phone, the wifi in the place has never been so bad, terrible signal, it only works in one of the rooms, in the rest you're disconnected from the world and you can't hear either the music on your cell phone, or if, for example, you stay here for a long time you miss an important call that you have been waiting for for months, because the management of this place does not solve something that should not be a problem anymore, in addition to the bad smell of the bathrooms and of the problems he has been having with work and renovations in recent months.

Good size gym and not too crowded at all. The reason for 3 stars is that I don't think it's fair that access to this gym is excluded from the premium membership, making you pay extra just to visit this one. Very inconvenient also for some of my friends I go with that work just next door.

Terrible prices for anyone that doesn't have a UK bank account. I am paying £150+ for 3 months and only have access to one gym and couldn't download the app because it says it's "not available" in my country, even though I was in their gym ehen I tried to download it! The cost would've been less than half if I had a UK bank account and therefore had the option of doing a monthly membership. I would also be able to go to any other Pure Gym. Wifi didn't work because I don't have a UK phone number but luckily I had data on my phone. The staff was pretty friendly but other than that I am heavily disappointed.

One of the worst pure gyms in London. Air inside is especially stuffy in summer. There is literally no fan and when the gym is busy, it gets unbearably hot so you can imagine how bad it is in summer. Oh its not just poor air circulation, the whole place is a WiFi dead zone as the gym is in the basement, most places won't connect to WiFi.

Touring London, wanted a workout at a local Gym. Good luck getting in, no reception and no staff at 1pm on a Wednesday, with a very convoluted sign up system that is near impossible to work without assistance. Would no recommend if you don't already have a membership/access.

Nice gym in general but PLEASE make a bigger effort in cleaning the spinning bikes! They are filthy as hell! And by that I mean the whole bike, not only the handles! They look like they haven’t been whiped down for months! I know it’s a low cost gym but if you don’t provide cleaning tissues to wipe off the equipment you could at least make sure that the gym gets a thorough clean at the end of the day! Also it would be great if the showers could be cleaned a bit more frequently. Also no Access to WiFi or service which sucks because you cannot use the PureGym app and therefore it’s workouts.

Been going to this gym for a year, the only thing that's good about it is that it's close to my work, otherwise, I wouldn't come. The air conditioning in the weights area has been broken for all this time I've been using the gym, I've seen people nearly passing out from the heat, I tried to ask staff members a couple of times but it's clear that they don't receive training and were very dismissive!

  • 1/5 Janine M. 4 years ago on Google
If you are looking for a gym with customer service and perhaps the possibility to rent a proper towel when you forget them, then this is definitely NOT a place for you.I get a really good deal with work so I have joined this gym but it's not a place I would recommend. I wasn't once approached by a member of staff during my workout and in fact there is no one monitoring the floors - I can't help but think this is a real health & safety concern. I joined via work and was not invited for an induction - just given a security code to enter the gym. Luckily I am a retired personal trainer so I don't need much assistance around the gym, but if I didn't have this background then I would have found the gym a very unfriendly place.. because you don't see any staff - apart from a row of profiles on the wall, with business cards attached to hunt for personal training business. It looks like you only get service if you pay for it. Like I said, I know the industry and I still feel there should be ordinary instructors to keep clients safe on the equipment. So my phone died and I wasn't able to access my code.. and for 15 minutes I was trying to track down a member of staff to let me out of the gym. Ordinary members told me they weren't sure if the gym is manned by staff. I then found a cleaning lady in one of the studios who rudely dismissed me that I should leave her and look for staff "somewhere at the bottom".. a second time after rolling her eyes at me.. she described the blue uniform with Puregym logos. As I exited, I saw a blue shirt going upstairs and called at him for attention.. he dismissed me that he was busy and I had to find someone "somewhere at the bottom".. later on I discovered that "somewhere at the bottom" meant down the corridor, right at the entrance and left at the changing rooms.. a little further onto an unlabeled door which apparently is the office - zero signage in sight! So a few trainers eventually pranced downstairs together in a group and I then - frustrated - insisted that they let me out at once. I will not recommend this gym to anyone. Apparently you have to book classes online like a lottery. They are oversubscribed by people who don't turn up in the end and then classes end up empty. Not very sensible in my view.

Who goes to the gym and doesn't shower?... Not I Pure Gym, Not I. The mens shower has been out of order for 5 weeks, which is frankly unacceptable. They are acceptable of my money even though I am not using the gym. Its ok, the music is too low so it dosent really create an atmosphere for training or excersise but I guess pop in some headphones and your good to go. The good bits: Its clean,it has barbells, machines, cardio,Dumbbells even a couple of weightlifting platforms. The bad bits: The atosphere is very awkward you can sence that no one really knows what they are doing so that in turn makes you feel awkward, a bit more interaction from the staff and louder music might be tools to help that. All the barbells are off brand. Dont expect to find brands like rouge, eliko etc they are also pretty beat up and the knurling is smooth on them so not a lot of grip assist. Resistance machines, I liked 1 of the machines, I cant remember the name of it but it was a seated chest supported back row this allowed me to get full range of motion. Pretty much every other machine because of the way its been designed, do not allow full range of motion for some people, mostley if you have long limbs like me. However there are products out there by more industry standard brands that will accomadate the gibbon armed man. All in all its better than nothing. I wouldnt train here if I lived here tho.

Great value. Good, clean, competent gym with all the kit. Free weights, pin weights and cardio equipment. Even has ski ergs which is a bonus.

Quite clean, organized and the machines were quite new as well. Staff was very professional and even borrowed me a lock pad. For 36£ a month couldn't expect better than this. Well done PureGym Piccadilly!

Good gym. Has everything you want and with friendly staff. It's just busy during peak times. Which is expected.

First let me give credit where it is due. The gym is quite large and has a good equipment that is mostly in good working order. Here is where they could improve: 1. Air flow: only a few of the AC units were operational, not enough to cool the whole gym when busy. The air upstairs was stagnant and everything felt damp. If your AC is on the fritz, at least get a fan. 2. Cleaning wipes: no one has a towel and therefore no one wipes down the equipment after use. Despite this, the gym was very tidy. Overall the gym is good value for the low price of membership. If they fixed the air conditioning and provided some wipes or sprays & rags it would definitely be five stars.

Solid pure gym and affordable despite the location. Complete maze inside though, lots of floors and random nooks and crannies. Good equipment and offering still

As previous reviews say it’s very busy at peak times and there a few “regulars” who are vile and the heat in the gym seems to get them rilled up

Great location in London with plenty of equipment to choose from for your workout . Friendly staff and I love the fact it’s a 24 hour gym

Reasonable size gym with all the basic equipment needed. However, the treadmills aren't looked after properly some are very noisy when running on them. The spin bikes are not maintained properly, quite a few seem to be missing peddles and have loose handle bars. As for the man's changing room, very big and spacious but the showers are disgusting and there is always a strong smell of sewage and plenty of mould everywhere. You feel dirtier coming out the shower compared to going in.

This branch is equipped with plenty of cardio machines. The push and cable machines are separated apart. You have to walk and use a flight of steps to get to the other side. The push area is the worst to get any reception. So don't be alarmed while you're working out that your music suddenly stops playing (and you will need your music because the music they play there is trash, on top of that it's played on the lowest volume possible). Overall it seems the building used to be an office, converted into a gym and it's almost dead silent even during peak hours.

Decent facilities , not all work. I.e stair stepper. Worst pure gym lockers and bathrooms and I have been to a few.

Recomended by the hotel (The Cavendish). As a tourist, you must: 1) Register and pay for a one-day pass. 2) Wait for a NIP code to be sent to your email (you don't need to download the app. *Everything inside is automated so be sure to have the code. 3) You'll use the code in the front door (type and hit OK button) and in the access pod inside, same going out. There are free lockers (you should bring a personal lock), water dispensers, and showers available. It is open 24/7 and very helpful for the "jetlag".
