Nice tidy gym with plenty of decent equipment however it’s lost a couple of stars for how disability unfriendly it is, not only is it completely inaccessible to wheelchair users, despite having a wide disabled access door, it’s down a flight of stairs with a useless handrail you can’t even grab… the disabled changing is on the lowest level, only accessible down a precarious spiral staircase… but most of all, the sudden and severe “public service tannoy” is jarring and sudden, giving distress to any with autism spectrum such as Asperger’s etc. also there’s a clock that’s wrong (hour hand) and the weights are always put back wrong, but those so inclined can remedy this as a warmup…

Visit any PureGym for the day, with no contract or sign up fees. A PureGym day pass gives you unlimited access to your chosen gym. There’s no contract to sign, and you can use the gym straight away. A PureGym day pass is a good idea if you’re visiting for the day, if you’re curious about what it’s like to use one of our gyms, or if you want a friend to join you in the gym. With a day pass you can book fitness classes on the day (please note that you cannot book fitness classes in advance), use the changing rooms and all the gym equipment.

In my opinion a open plan gym is the best. This one is 2-3 floors on basement and I find difficult the first day to find the changing room. The other thing that I didn't liked is that the equipment are not placed correctly, on your chest day you have to go in different floors to do the exercises, i think it should be better to organize the equipment for the same muscle group in one place.

It is decent, does the job. However the AC in the weight room and near the weight machines is on high, but is hardly on at all near the cardio machines.

Stay away! Most of the staff there are misrable gits, who just look for an opporunity to give you s#'!t about something. If you love little people exercising thier limited power over you, this gym is for you.

A good selection of equipment for ultimately is a fairly limited amount of space across 3 floors. Very helpful staff and usually pretty clean with other courteous gym-goers. Clean showers too but the male changing room could do with another bench, as at peak times you find yourself getting changed straight out of your locker. Lastly this is one of the few central London PureGym’s that is 24 hours not just during the week but also at the weekend.

I hated it pre-covid - too crowded. I love it now - max. 10 people inside.

I've been a member for a over a year now so feel I should update my review. Generally the gym is ok but I'm missing the niceties of gymbox. I like the better showers, free towels, sauna and more equipment. Something simple like a punchbag. I can't knock this pure gym but for me I would rather pay a bit more for a better experience.

Just recently they have finally introduced calisthenics and crossfit training area. Giving 4 stars because they still don't wanna provide papers and sanitisers to clean the machines.

the changing rooms were dirty and the air conditioning didn't work. Working out without air conditioning is filthy. The gym does have very good equipment and in a wide range of variety though

Very covid compliant and friendly staff, never a queue for equipment and plenty of hand sanitation and equipment wipe down stations. Plenty of locker space too. A large variety of machines and weights, good for those that like a spit and sawdust gym and those that like a modern set up, not full of posers like alot of gyms.

If your going to use this just be mindful the staff thieve from lockers and only give priority if your spending over 80 pounds a month, the locker room itself is disgusting, the manager has a reputation for being tough on members . They have not returned my property and their security team are behind the recent thefts there as they do not report this to police.

HIP TRUST BENCH IS NEEDED!!!! Hamstrings are not that easy to train as there is only a 1 leg curl in the entire gym

Pin never works. And of course when you need someone their off bc they're closed. It's all online based so there is no one to call. Grrrrr

The toilets have horrendous ventilation so it always stinks of protein poos. The gym itself has a shortage of Olympic bars and it has done for months now. Also not enough weight plates. I have spoken to management several times about this and they said it was on order? Maybe its a covid supply chain thing?

I tend to go to the classes at this gym, and love it. There are a range of instructors so you get variation on the themes such as abs workout and legs, bums, tums. The instructors are always really friendly, really well prepared, really knowledgeable. The gym itself is well equipped, I have never waited for a running machine, and the weights area is rarely over busy. Also I love the app, it makes it so easy to book and cancel classes. No complaints!

Multi-level gym on Little Britain just opposite St. Barts hospital. Excellent circuit training machines on entrance level together with vending machines and tables. Changing rooms and cardio machines 1 level down with serious weights and spinning 2 levels down. 4 stars because of crowding during lunch time but otherwise plenty of space to work out. You can park your bike in a courtyard at the end of an entrance corridor from Little Britain.

Very rude manager Mr Roberts A very rude manager called Janine Robert’s blocked my pin with NO notice and I was trapped at the gym at 8am! I asked a few days later to reactive my pin, which she never did. She is extremely controlling and demanded that I go and see her in order to reactivate it. This forced me to cancel my membership after 7 years. Also the member service unfortunately he couldn't help me too…

It was great, as I was staying for a month in London, I needed a gym option. This seems to be a great option. I came at 6:30 and the gym was not pretty busy. I had everything I needed in this place, weights, machines, cables, cardio..etc

Only go to this PureGym on the weekends so can't comment on during the week, but if you're looking for somewhere quiet and big, this is a great place to come. It's almost completely deserted every time I've been here on a Saturday or Sunday but cause it's in a central office area, has a relatively large design capacity.

Manager had to be asked to take an injured member who had a head wound to the local hospital instead of offering and left blood on the gym floor. Pretty disgusting

Cheap no frills gym in the city. They recently put their prices up, April 2018. I'd bank on them doing so again in the future as it is quite popular. Unfortunately popular isn't a good feature for a gym. Machines were quite packed up. The Gym is well stocked with machines, free weights and classes. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I like it. It doesn't have a pool, sauna or steam room, but it's well laid out, over three basement level floors. A good degree of well maintained equipment and a reasonable amount of space. The best part, I'm not paying £100 per month and I'm getting a good work out and, I feel, good value.

Very small and crowded gym. Went to try it with a Groupon coupon and not going back there. Guess you can avoid the crowds going at a non peak times and weekends

A very quite place on the day I went, I enjoyed the experience of going. A huge thank you to them for allowing PT Academy to use the gym to train new Personal Trainer's, and a huge thanks to the members there for putting up with us.

In general is good, but the changing rooms could be improved and updated. For example with a sauna, complimentary body gel, etc.

  • 3/5 Witek W. 5 years ago on Google
The layout can be a challenge - this gym is spread out over three floors, each of which is quite small. Free weights area is on the lowest floor and is usually busy in the mornings, with the two squat racks often constantly occupied. The showers are strange - the glass doors in each cubicle allow for people outside to mostly see the person inside. Perhaps they've been installed wrong way round.

The gym is very small and makes working out on what you want near impossible after work. 2 sets of spiral stairwells in the middle of the gym isn’t the most accessible way to get around. It was very warm, air con wasn’t working and not a single antibacterial hand station I wouldn’t advise using this one.

  • 4/5 Linda B. 3 years ago on Google
They have a selection of equipments, all were functioning. Not too crowder, very clean adn they follow the protocols. I noticed the airconditioning in the changing rooms didn't work but beside that, all was great.

Pros: - Decent range of equipment - Fairly good price considering it's in central London - Bike racks right outside the door Cons: - No natural light (It's all underground over 3 levels) - Not much space in the weights room - No lifting platform - Only one water fountain - Other members not putting weights/equipment back - Adverts play between music over the speakers - Poor maintenance of equipment (see photo), some maintenance that would take a few seconds (tightening with an allen key) takes weeks to be fixed

I have been using this gym temporarily as I have been in the area for the past few weeks. Overall, it is a decent gym and has a good range of machines and free weights which is why I have decided to use it more than once. It has never been busy at the times I have been, granted I have only been on the weekend so peak times on a weekday may tell a different story. The main downsides are the fact that the gym is essentially underground so there is no natural light and it is a two floor gym which you must navigate using narrow spiral stairs. It's not a massive deal, but it just means that you will do a mini cardio workout if you have a particular exercise order. (Also, it may just be me, but I keep getting a static shock when I touch the handrail!) :) Other than that, if it were to get busy in the machine area, it would be problematic as many of them are too close to one another and even if two people are on separate machines it can still get rather claustrophobic. I once had to wait for someone to finish on a machine in order to get to one that was free because I felt as though we would have been awkwardly close.
