I have been going to this gym for over a year. I used to like it quite a lot, in fact 6 mounths ago I rated it on google with 5 stars. However, the quality has dramatically gone down over the past months. The changing rooms are dirty, no one is picking up the towels (neither the staff nor the visitors). The soap in the showers has become basically water rather than soap. It has become extremely hard to find a locker because people have taken ownership of them, by leaving their locks over night, there are looks I have seen in the same locker for months (even if I go in the morning, after noon or before they close). I leave you some pictures to show how the changing rooms look.

I've frequented this gym for a couple a months (partly because I failed to cancel the DD before the payment date). The gym is super overcrowded. Even trying in the morning before work or around lunchtime. I even tried to go from 2pm onwards when I'd hope things are quiet but you still need to wait for your turn to use some machines (or weights). On the top of that, all dumbbells and weights are always misplaced so it's always a hunt to find what you need. Also, the male toilet is very smelly (although it doesn't look particularly dirty). Even without having any alternative, I ended up cancelling my membership which says a lot. I really want a place to train.

The gym doesn't open until 6.30am from Mon-Fri; weights are left lying all over the place; the toilets and sinks are dirty; the changing rooms are too small; there are too few water fountains; towels are left lying all over the place in the changing rooms; members are allowed to get away with permanently occupying lockers which makes it difficult to find one that's free at busy times; and the shower gel in the dispensers in the showers is watered down. Apart from that, the gym gets very overcrowded, although I know that there's nothing the management can do about that (except possibly to extend the opening hours). On the plus side, the gym equipment is good.

This club made me want to work harder, earn more and pay more to join a cleaner, friendlier and edgier gym. The personal trainers are so sad to be there it was like being trainer by an penguin in a glass zoo enclosure With so many other vibrant Gyms in the area, even though it saves you money, it still wastes your time, find somewhere else!!

I just cancelled my membership today. My locker was jammed, but when i went up to two members of staff to ask if they could help, they immediately said no once they realized i wasnt interested in personal training. After a 15 minute wait another member of staff did eventually helped me, and explained the other two staff members unhelpfulness due to them being self employed. Its clear that the only times you'll experience good customer service is if youre prepared to sign up for pt sessions. This gym is awful! You're just paying for the post code.

Been coming here on and off for a couple of years. Great gym and equipment but overcrowded. A busy gym is understandable during peak hours but this one is exaggerated. Often find myself queuing behind 4 people and waiting 15+ minutes for a bench or machine. Stop accepting memberships, you’re deteriorating the experience for everyone.

The gym is well-equipped. Yet one of the staffs is rude. When I tried to express the concern of the safety of my belongings, he just said its none of his concerns. He just kept saying he would ban me from the gym if I didn’t listen to him. The other staffs are more polite and helpful.

Worst gym ever! They break into lockers and steal your stuff, on two occasions they have stolen my sons items and nothing can be done about it. Today they broke into his locker and a few months ago also. Not impressed at all...

The do not use antibacterial hand wash. They make their cleaners refill anti bacterial bottles with pink cheap shower jell .. it’s absolutely ridiculous!, after a workout you just want to wash your hands with something that’s gonna kill germs and clean your hands. And also the protein and pre workout machine never works! And they never fix these problems.. not sure why?

It’s an ok gym! However is full of people everywhere! Sometimes in the evenings you don’t have a weight or machine free( to do simple squats I can do them on my living room)...... really disappointed about that. Also the showers and changing rooms ,they could be much cleaner .

The CDC advised to workout outside instead of indoors, which I have been doing for one year. I decided to check the gym out to see if it was safe. Sadly dangerous practices were occurring. I highly advice the gym managment space out the equipment as people can work out right next to each other? There are no space in the machines?I was shocked to see that today. After my first visit I am canceling this membership unless they severely change these policies and make it a safe and secure place to work out which it isn’t. they allow dangerous practices. There was no social distancing, no spacing of machines and people are not wearing masks or cleaning the machines before or after use. I suggest these changes be made right away to reduce the spread of covid. Because of these dangerous policies, I am canceling my membership and will work out in parks and with my own weights at home until you fix these problems. Quite shocking how ignorant some people and the management are to allow this to happen? UK has the second highest COVID cases in the world. Wake up! Sad because I was looking forward to going to the gym again. Guess not. Will train outside as doctors advise.

My problem is with dirty changing rooms, where from the toilets you generally get a "pleasant" smell. Și generally you do not really get what you pay for, plus there's only one spot for strength building where you can really do squats and so forth with proper weights.

I always go to Pure Gym in London. I used to go to the Shoreditch PureGym when living in Brick Lane, where I paid 27£ monthly and I thought it was reasonable. I’ve moved to South Kensington and I surprisingly found that this gym costs 50£ per month. Why is this gym way more expensive than the one in Shoredich? I don’t really know. But, I didn’t said a thing and I thought, that might be because they have better benefits, ok, I don’t mind… After almost one year of going to this gym I find that the facilities in the gym are THE SAME as the ones in Shoreditch, or even worse. They have less equipment. And the most horrible thing is the fact that you open at 7am on week days, when the Shoreditch gym, and many other Pure Gyms are 24h hours. It’s ridiculous that you open at 7am on week days. It’s incredible to find all the people queuing from 6.45am onwards in the door to try to get in at exactly 7am. Honestly, I don’t really know the reason behind this but if we pay more than other gyms it would be nice to at least see that for instance we have more hours of the gym open. For people who have to travel 45mins to work everyday (which is quite normal in this city), 7am as an opening time could already be late. I have no idea on the reasons behind this two things: a) being more expensive, b) having ridiculous small opening times compared to other gyms but, I’m just getting very sick of it and next month I’ll probably start going to The Gym in Fulham, where I could pay half what I pay here, HALF & they open 24hours. I hope someone reads this review and it’s able to give me a response on this issues. Thanks a lot.

A massive gym, you can found here a big fw area, cardio area, studio, spin studio, functional area, stretch area, leg area, have some benefits like a yang water. But if you think training over night think this is not your gym is one of the Pure gyms close over night. Have very good team of personal trainers and I consider is a good place to do a bit ox boxing. I hope you enjoy this place

I have recently moved to the area and unfortunately this is the only gym near me that has a reasonable price tag. You are still paying premium for PureGym for this gym but compared to some gyms nearby (*cough cough* KX) it is low. BUT this is not a great gym- at peak times it is unbearable. I would say that this is not a place for novice gym goes at peak times. I know this is not managements fault but people here are awful at putting the weights they are using back. I am glad I can go when it is not peak times but even then that means there is around 70 people in the gym so if you want to work out in peace this is not the place for you.

Always messy, weights everywhere, unfriendly staff, the list goes on...been a member at many gyms over the years but this is by far the most poorly managed. This is the closest gym to where I stay currently so pretty much my only choice at this point. Also, they claim a certain fee monthly but then go and charge a load more for signing up? Why must I pay a fee to sign up? There is literally zero admin required as it’s all online registration. I cannot wait to find a decent alternative to this place. I would advise to anyone looking at this gym to look elsewhere as much as possible. The final nail in the coffin was when a towel had been left with a pile of hair on it and staff members just walked past as if it didn’t exist. No respect from the members nor the staff to keep this place looking respectable. Sorry but I have bitten my tongue for long enough since joining 6 months ago. A truly honest review.

I think the gym is okay, but I'm giving it 1 star because their water fountains haven't worked for months and they've done NOTHING about it. People who are exercising need to drink water or else it is VERY DANGEROUS. It's ASTONISHING that nothing has been done about this. They are clearly aware of the problem.

I have being going to this Gym for the past two years now and I have at the beginning rate it 5 stars. However the gym is falling into despair and the people who is going there are far from pleasant. I live locally and it is the only option I have at moment, but I feel very uneasy with the amount of male harassment I can see there. I will wait to the first opportunity to change it.

The gym is ok. However, the men’s changing room is falling apart already. Toilets, sinks always blocked, one cubicle lock broken for weeks, towels everywhere....The men’s changing room also lacks space. During peak there’s no elbow room.

Three and a half if i could. Generally well run, kept clean and pleasant place to be. Also most staff very friendly and helpful. Additionally it’s pretty attitude free with mix of men and women, some serious some not so. Repairing of machines has also improved recently and now repaired pretty quickly. The negatives are gym goers themselves -people constantly on phones instead of working out, and in the men’s toilets users think it’s ok to leave toilet tissue on the floor. The equipment is good, but it is fairly cramped in places and still needs a bit of rearranging, despite many recent attempts!

Ive been working out at various London “theGyms” and this has got to be one of the worst! Especially now under COVID19 conditions! The gym is poorely ventilated and due to its basement/GFloor split the basement (where the majority of the weights is gets extremely stuffy. Also hot as 3/4 of the AC units are never on. In addition their PTs (male ones especially) have literally no care about cleaning surfaces with antibacterial to prevent spread of covid. 1 PT especially, Hristo Dobrev, never cleans equipment after he (personally) or his clients use them! Even though the CRYSTAL CLEAR gym regulation is for everyone to take care and clean after themselves. This gives a very bad example to everyone else. In addition, I have said ALL of the above to theGym (central account) already after 1 week of visiting the establishment and NOTHING has been done to rectify any of the above. Completely appalled and disgusted by this branch. If it gets shut down due to COVID concerns they have no one else to blame but themselves and a minority of their careless, self entitled staff.

Not enough weight training equipment and 1 only boxing punch bag which is hung too low. Apart from that the people who use it are a nightmare and spend their time taking selfies or on their phones hogging the equipment. Do not see people actually training much there and too crowded. But very cheap and 24hrs so can use it when quieter at 2 am.

Very nice gym, good equipment and decent enough space. I've been to better gyms before and this one will get crowded during peak hours (as with any gym, but they have a system to check how many people are in the gym at a time so all these people downgrading them for having too many people in the gym at once is ridiculous).

The best PureGym in London (or maybe oval, both are great). Very spacious, lots of machines, free towel on entrance. I don't use the changing facilities so can't comment on these. There are a lot of 'enhanced' locals that attend, hey, it is kensington :) The only comment is make is that there are very steep stairs between floors, and the functional area feels very crowded against the wall and then a huge dead space next to it

This must be the only gym I have been to in the world that does not ask, let alone require their members to use a towel on equipment. So before COVID-19 no one used a towel or wiped down equipment. Now, only about a quarter wipe down equipment and still hardly anyone uses a towel. Not good enough. Get your staff to not let people in if they don't have a towel. It is gym etiquette throughout the world.

The customer service is awful. I booked a day pass through a clunky membership system that flatters to deceive. After booking my pass I was sent no email with any details of what to do, and no code to get in. Phone lines down and no-one to speak to. I eventually caught the eye of a member of staff through the security pods, but he offered no help and just told me to wait. For 45 minutes. In the foyer - even though I could prove I'd paid. While I was waiting someone else came and found their membership had been cancelled for no reason and without notice, and they too couldn't find someone to speak to with the power to help. Two others came, booked day passes, and gave up waiting so left saying they'd try for a refund later. I eventually tried again - paying again - and did get an email... but I then had to wait for 19 minutes before my pass was activated (rather than the maximum of 10 they claim). I only stayed as I was meeting someone inside.

The basic-all-that-you-need-gym! It is decently equipped, with some machines being older than the others, but it is very well maintained & taken care of, always clean, and always with a dynamic energy. I recommend this gym to everyone that would like to maximise, as much as they can, the time that they spend at the gym or to cool off (after a hard day at work) with a bit of boxing at the punching bag. The PTs are there to help you if you need a bit of guidance, friendly & polite. I did enjoy my time at this gym and would happily rejoin it if I was living/ working near Angel again.

The place is filled with big fan and ice chambers where there’s no even ice inside. Also, they turn music off 30 mins before closing, like an announcement of closing 10 mins before is not enough? We could all make the most out if out workout even in the last hour, instead no music, no vibe, just staff shouting every 5 mins the gym is about to close. Avoid!!

There is no contact telephone number for pure gym. Any problems in the gym they just blame on management whether knowing you can’t get hold of anyone - same for everything - no towels, broken equipment, lack of working sanitisers, shortage of staff etc. they take no responsibility anymore for anything “all the decisions come from above “.
