🫤 Often very crowded. Trainers seem to be only interested in chatting up and "dating" the clientele while the average looking folks get no assistance. Good new management though and its kept clean. The short little trainer guy is very rude. I thought it was just me but I've seen the same to other men.... People often mention equipment, good, great, staff, machines, training, time, people, friendly, price,

About a year has passed since my last review. And nothing has changed except logo and a dash of paint on the walls. Same old busted equipment some even seem too dangerous to put higher weight as cables so worn out. Leg machines padding gone and hurts legs against metal to use it. Like what the hell? I thought this was going to be refurbished after new ownership but i guess not. Same everything except logo and price. Only reason i come here is location and least busy during my time that i come. But i might start to look around for another gym.. What a let down after the so called refurbishment.

Different logo and name, same poor, useless gym.. Not much new except for a couple of new added weights in a thinner style, except.. there are way too few of them, so it doesn't really help. Dumbbells are constantly thrown around the place and are never cleaned up by staff (finding them is a mission and causes a headache). Too small of a gym. Not enough equipment. When busy, it gets way too full to the point it is nearly impossible to find an alternative exercise to do because equipment or machines of different sorts will be taken.

A perfect place to get into the (phone) zone If you are after a gym to find a comfy seat to watch stuff on your phone, or a mat to lay back on as if you’re in bed on your own then this is the gym for you. You will be in great company. Not even the music encourages you to get in the training zone, it’s mostly monotonous monotone rap. The kind that fits with the serotonin drip feed you get sitting hunched over your phone that’s so much easier than getting the endorphines you have to work for. Get in your bad posture hunched over Instagram and maybe do a set every five minutes if you feel you really have to. At this gym apparently everyone gets into the zone focused on their phone. You might get someone hovering waiting for you to finish with the machine you’re sitting comfortably crossed legs on, but don’t worry about that either- they most likely will just want to watch a YouTube video so just sit tight. You claimed it first. If you do want to do a set every five minutes or so nobody will look at you weirdly. Everyone is dressed for the gym so need to at least LOOK like exercise is their intention. On a more serious note. Actually the equipment is great but the lockers are all broken.

The only gym near my work that has a good free weight area! Very reasonable price given size/location. Looks much better now it has changed brands too.

I used to go to The Gym Angel and also Stockwell and they are much better. This Oxford one has always a lot of things in maintenance, the female shower smells, has only curtains and not doors, the floor is getting mouldy and sometimes floods a bit. I've ask kindly to a staff member for a hairdryer and the answer was "The Gym don't borrow hairdryers". I told him that in Angel and Stockwell they do, and he was surprised. The music is always super loud, you can't really listen to your own ear phone.

Good price and decent size for central London, but it’s so overcrowded during mornings, lunch and after work. Equipment also old and often broken. Went today at lunch and there was literally a 4 person queue for the one working lat pull down machine.

Please can you sort the exercise bikes? Only 2 out of 10 working without any faults. Others missing footstraps, or have wornout gears,or loose pedals, or aren't turned on. Has been this way for months. Cheers! (otherwise great gym)

Good price for the area near work. It's gotten much busier in the past year. They also removed the paper towels to wipe down the equipment, obviously cost cutting.

I've been a member of this gym for 5 years now and it feels like a second home. I have achieved a lot of my goals training here. For the amount of floor space you get and quality of equipment, the membership price is a steal. The only problem is people never returning their weights. It's a universal problem but it is becoming worse. Especially on machines like the leg press - leaving 4 or 5 plates on per side is ridiculous. Then in the free weights area, people just leave the barbell on the floor after deadlifts. You need to start calling people out.

It's alright. Very crowded at 1 and 6. Difficult to find weights as is can get a little messy. I rarely have to wait for a machine even when it's crowded. Staff is friendly but not always available. The have a nice group fitness room though that's open when there isn't a class.

Spacious gym with excellent equipment and friendly staff/personal trainers. In particular Rocky and Vidal who are in my opinion the best coaches are always on hand to give training advice when needed. I have achieved fantastic results training with them, I like the way they pay special attention to every detail to help you get perfect form while exercising and at the same time putting you through your paces. Well done gym group keep up the good work!

The gym equipment are good however, many times I've seen women walk out of the toilets and go straight to the gym floor WITHOUT washing their hands. I've seen this many times and I go often to the gym. My advice to management would be to put a "Wash your hands" sign on the door and sink because some women need to be reminded.

Decent for the price. Just wish some of the equipment especially the cable machines were updated; and that it was open 24 hours. But a good gym overall, with a range of a equipment and good staff.

For the second time I was falsely accused for training a client at @thegymgroup in Oxford Circus, a staff member approached me and asked about my profession and whether I trained a client today. I believe the pt who reported me is Louis Lopez. Who come across as a very arrogant in eyes of many gym members. To support his ' interview' he reffered to cctv footage during which I was with my friend - Rachel. The video clearly shows that we are having fun and doing training together. Whilst I understand the PT from the gym group who has reported me is probably not earning enough, paying a lot of rent and afraid of losing potential clients, this is the second time this has happened to me. The first incident happened earlier on this year and the person that approached me was very rude, even raising his voice while justifying his approach. On the following day, I wrote an official complaint to the gym group as I found it very disrespectful. Sadly I have never received a response. Today the person I confronted advised me that he was fired some time ago. Anyways, I find it very disturbing as I know that the person who reported me knows I have an online business and there is no evidence whatsoever to support this allegation. As this has happened for the second time the next report will be treated as harassment and reported to media’s along with commencement of legal actions. For your information I have recorded snips from the day I was accused to work as a PT that clearly shows I’m having fun with my friend.

Honestly have never been more disappointed in a gym before. Good luck even getting in to the place. If you need help go ahead and push the call button no one will answer. Really felt more like a scam. Won’t be back and can’t say anything positive about this place

Always enjoy my workouts at this gym, the staff are all really great and there if you need help. The atmosphere is always great as well. Have been to a few classes and find that they give me the motivation I need sometimes, when I don’t want to train.

I highly recommend this gym, especially my PT Breno Gomes. I trained with him for a few months when I was in London. He understood my goals and helped me stay on track to achieve them. It boosted my confidence during training. He is always on hand to answer any questions I may have.

Gym itself is well equipped. However, 5 minutes into training the supposed "off duty" 5'5" gym manager started complaining at me and my training partner for not wearing "training shoes". I had work boots on (I'm a 220lb heavy bodybuilder and find them comfortable) and my friend had some off white running trainers. He had a go at me saying I will injure someone with my shoes, and also spread covid with them because I wore them outside? He then said he would let us stay rather than kick us out because we were nice? He then proceeded to carry on with his own workout without wiping down the equipment he was using after. Guess my shoes pose the bigger covid risk

I really like this gym but can't understand why such a central location shuts early unlike all the other 24 hour ones in this chain. Of all the gyms to be open 24 hours you'd think the Oxford Street one would be the most important one! This would make life so much easier and less busy at peak times because we would know we can come later and still have a great workout.

  • 5/5 Gaby R. 1 year ago on Google
The Gym group is great value for money and also in some really central locations. The facilities are good and they put on some good classes. One in particular, Circuits on Monday. Rocky and previously Edwardo have done a great job creating a challenging yet fun class!

  • 4/5 Francisco A. 1 year ago on Google
One of the better "The Gym" gyms I've been to, plenty of equipment and cleaner than most budget gyms with plenty of showers, limited toilet and changing space though. There's also a studio for classes, with RGB lighting and video wall for virtual classes. Only negatives are at peak times it can be difficult getting a bench or rack for weight training, but this is standard in all budget gyms. Also, and this is more of a member issue, the weights are all over the place finding the weight you want can be frustrating at times.

Great gym. Huge selection of equipment. One of my favourite gym's within the Gym Group

  • 1/5 Sylvia B. 1 year ago on Google
The gym itself is great but the cleaning lady is deadly. Leaves the floor soaking around every machine making it super unsafe to walk around and use the equipment. I would advise to not have her circling the floor hours on end.

Great gym. Clean, spacious, beautiful studio and loads of equipment. Also not busy! where the professionals are excellent, where one in particular stands out, Breno Santos, fantastic professional, charismatic and good humored

Recently started going here, as the Bloomsbury one wasn’t so convenient for me. Great location for me, very spacious, has everything I need, and several of the most popular rigs and machines so rarely have to wait or double up even in the evening. A couple of small minuses (and this is true of all gym group gyms): the lockers in the changing rooms are pretty bad quality and can get damaged too easily so they’re hard to close. Also the changing room benches are slatted so smaller items can easily fall onto the floor - some solid benches would be better. However overall a great place to work out!

The best Gym Group Gym I’ve been to- and very affordable considering it’s in central London! The staff are all lovely and kind, often offering their PT skills for free to people who might not be 100% confident in the gym. The gym is well equipped and spacious, and even during peak hours machines are never taken for too long which is good. I would like to see a bigger free weights area as sometimes it can become full at peak times and you have to wait, but other than that I wouldn’t change much!

The best gym that I’ve visited in a very long time! the staff are super friendly and the gym itself is well organised and always kept clean! Could not recommend the classes enough! Enjoyable and knowledgable - it’s a yes for me!

  • 4/5 Anja G. 11 months ago on Google
Spacious gym with a lot of squat racks! There is also a lot of gym machines, unfortunately not that big of a variety. The stretching area doesn’t feel really nice and clean since people don’t change their shoes. Unfortunately not many people use a towel or wipe the machines after use. Could be something that the staff could encourage people to do.

Great gym. Very relaxed and quite. Great staff UPDATE. very good gym when open. Went today but closed. Did not receive any notice to say. Also saw others turn up and also find out it was closed. Interrupts workout routine. Especially when paying for every month.

  • 5/5 Alroughani 9 months ago on Google
Came here on holiday for 3 weeks, and this was the best possible option for the price. In the app you can check out how many people are in the gym and at what times it is empty or have the least people, which led me to have a great time and no regrets. Clean and good equipment, more than I needed.

The Gym Is ok. But the company Is sheet. They have done a mistake with the payment and they charged more, i have sent to them the proof and they didn't even gave the extra money!!! There are others Companies more professional and honest!!

This isn't my usual gym; I visited it while traveling for work. The male changing room is minuscule, and you find yourself constantly maneuvering around others by the lockers. The showers had an unpleasant fishy odor, and there was hair and debris scattered across the floor. Overall, not a great experience.

Not a gym goer but now am because Michal in the Oxford street branch was amazing in giving myself and a friend of mine an induction and a really well crafted use of the gym based on our needs. She was delightful and definitely has made my experience so far really comfortable.

  • 4/5 Johnny Z. 4 years ago on Google
Excellent gym overall. It is conveniently located in central London and surprisingly spacious even when it’s packed with people during the after-work dash. Lots of cardio machines, weight machines, cross fit space, and lockers. The free-weight area is a big small, but it’s nice to have an extra extension of the gym that is much cooler and less crowded than the main workout area. There seems to always be a class going on, which is nice when it comes to building a close-knit community. On the downside... the locker room can be a bit bigger, there’s usually a payment problem with the vending machines (doesn’t help that the on-site staff can’t help resolve related issues), and the water fountains have terrible pressure. I think it’s great that the monthly rate at the Gym is lower than Puregym and there is enough the Gym locations to make the multi-gym pass worthwhile. Another perk of the membership is being able to invite friends, which can easily be done through the app. On that note, the Gym’s mobile app is really intuitive and easy to use. Also signing up doesn’t require direct debit, which I had to do by opening up a new bank account when I signed up to Puregym.

  • 5/5 Chaise H. 4 years ago on Google
This gym is currently closed till end of may due to refurbishment........but Great gym, have no issues here what so ever. The gym is on the last floor so you have to walk all the way up.. I think there's a lift but I've never used it. There's plenty of lockers outside. No lockers inside the changing room which is good anyway. The gym is pretty large and has two different areas. The weights area isn't that big and usually at busy times there's not much space, so I'd recommend coming at off peak times.

Love the atmosphere and loads of machines/equipment available. Have to give a special mention to Vidal who is one of the trainers there. He’s has previously prepared me for international games providing specific based training. High intensity, good banter/professional and constantly pushes me to go that extra mile. Would highly recommend

I highly recommend this gym especially my PT Vidal. I've been training with him for a few years, he understands my goals and keeps me on track to reach them. He has helped me with my nutrition and has guided me when I have slightly fell off. He has boosted my confidence in the gym and has made me love working out again. He is always on hand to answer any questions I may have and is a constant support. If you need a PT, ask for him!

I have been training with Luis Lopez for a few months now and have been seriously impressed with the progress I've made. His knowledge of how to program for advanced trainees, as well as his passion for bodybuilding, has resulted in both strength gains as well as noticeable physique changes in a short amount of time. He has without doubt taken my training to the next level. I can highly recommend his services - top guy!

After seeing some pictures of the gym online, me and two of my buddies decided to go together for a good workout. Upon arriving, we were greeted with a warm welcome from one of the managers, Riccardo. A very polite and helpful individual who showed us around. A pleasant gym environment with well-kept equipment. Travelling from East Croydon was definitely worth it. 10/10 give this gym a shot!

I adventured from my usual gym in east croydon to visit this gym since the photos of it looked quite appealing. Once I arrived the place was amazing, it was large and provided me a covid safe workout. It was very clean too and the amount of machines they had was impressive. I traveled here with 2 friends and I was met with one of the staff, Riccardo, who swiftly sorted and assisted with an issue I had with my friend passes. Riccardo was polite and very helpful. I will definitely be coming again!
