😠 I went to the 'Reshape' class 3 days ago. The gym has an amazing atmosphere and has really good equipment. However, the space each person had on the floor for the HIIT workout was very limited. There should be less benches on the floor so that there is more space for everyone. I could not do a push... I went to the 'Reshape' class 3 days ago. The gym has an amazing atmosphere and has really good equipment. However, the space each person had on the floor for the HIIT workout was very limited. There should be less benches on the floor so that there is more space for everyone. I could not do a push up properly without my arms touching the benches on either side. As a result of the limited space, I moved myself a little back but without noticing the running trendmill behind me... my foot got trapped for a second under the trendmill and twisted my toe. Thankfully it's a minor injury. When I told the trainer at the end of the class he told me that there is nothing they can do with the space. That place needs a risk assessment! Not doing that class again!

If you scroll down, you will see 2 more ( at least) reviews where they mention how little the staff cares about the members ( 2 different senatios) , and unfortunately, I had the same experience today. In combination, of course, because I am lucky like that. I arrived 1 minute before the door closed. I said I wanted to drop my stuff in the lockers, and they said, "Hurry up." I come back 2 minutes later ( I could not find a locker straight away. It was very busy). The door was closed. When I said " well that's fine, but you saw me going down, running ( mind you, this class was almost empty) why didn't you tell me that I have no time as you were not going to wait for me before you close the door. If you had said that, I would have taken my stuff in the classroom and put them by the door. " The reply was the mix of: 1." I told you to hurry up." ( so i didn't do my job) 2. "What else would you want me to tell me? Why didn't you think of this (taking your stuff in the classroom) yourself?" ( aka, I am not here to help the members, I am here to fold towels, you are on your own) 3." We didn't do anything wrong. If you don't like the way we work, you can talk to our CEO." (Aka, I dont care, you go bother someone else) I don't know how others interpreted this experience , but my 14 years of work experience in hospitality translates this as poor customer service / overall discard of members satisfaction. The staff is there to clean and close doors, not to help the members. Not to provide a service. If she had said to me," That's fine. Go ahead, but we will not wait for you." I would not have missed the class I paid for because I would have gone in with my bag. But they don't care much about whether you will make it or not to your class. Their responsibility ends where the reception desk ends. Whatever happens after that, they don't care to make an effort about it. Other than that classes are ok , sometimes a bit unhinged, but ok, changing rooms are very nice too. If you are OK with poor service and bad customer support, you will be fine. As long as you don't need any help, you will be fine.

Completely unconscionable business looking to capitalise on genuine customer errors, which I would advise people to avoid at all costs. I accidentally purchased 2 separate monthly subscriptions with 1Rebel, thinking I had purchased one-time packs of 5 and 2 classes. As soon as I saw unexpected payments had been taken out of my account, I rang 1Rebel but was rudely and flatly refused any form of refund on this very significant sum of money that I had never expected to pay. This business is clearly only interested in clawing as much money from customers as possible. I have had much better experiences at Barry’s and F45, which offer much better value for money and appear to operate far more ethically.

Great classes and amenities, although the price keeps increasing for no reason and the customer service is pretty unhelpful. I Used to be a member on unlimited, been attending the gym for 4 years, and haven’t been notified of a change of T&C’s (6 months contract minimum) and a price increase. I’ve emailed to ask if I could remain on the rolling contract but been told that’s how the price is now and offered no alternatives or options, so I won’t be re-joining again.

My first ever spin class, and what an intro! Everyone was super nice and inviting. I'm not sure of the standards of the changing room etc but to me they were all really good. The class itself was really engaging and challenging with a great instructor. Not sure on pricing, but was definitely worth it

Normally an absolutely stellar experience but had a genuinely horrible encounter with one of the reshape trainers today (Erin) who refused my entry into her class having shut the doors a full minute early. For context I had brought a guest along to try out reshape and potentially join the gym. He was late and so missed the induction and was unable to get in. This absolutely fine and within 1REBEL policy (although appreciating that most inductions are 30 seconds long and the class was empty and just starting warmup). However I was also refused entry being an experienced member and not needing induction. Erin made no attempt to ask if I was a new member or not or even consider whether she had shut the doors too early. I was simply asked to leave which is rather embarrassing. I was was told that entry is at trainers discretion (which also indicates no formal policy around when entry is required and so defeats the logic of having a ‘last call’ - for context gyms such as third space give you a few minutes grace) but given there was a genuine announcement made about the last 60 seconds before doors shut - you’d expect the doors to still remain open (which they weren’t). I and my friend were very kindly booked onto the next spin class (which is much appreciated) but I remain frazzled and annoyed by the experience (particularly as it looked bad for me as someone who has historically had quite a high degree of respect for 1REBEL and it’s principles and brought / converted a number of friends / colleagues to reshapers Overall would still go and recommend people try it but 1REBEL definitely lost a bit of my respect today

I love going but I had a legacy deal which continually gets knocked out, and then there is no where to go when you complain. Reception staff can’t escalate and aren’t able to help, and concierge NEVER responds. So it’s literally only good when you don’t have an issue!

The spin here is one of the best in London! Nat is one of the most amazing teachers; she gets the energy high, the music is fun and i burn the most calories when spinning with her! The gym itself is so spotlessly clean, facilities are 10/10 and smoothies are great. Only thing that could make it better is a coffee station!

Nice program and the coach, but weights were super uncomfortable&slippery to lift and the space next to the bench is too tight to do any proper workout

  • 2/5 Noe D. 2 years ago on Google
You should change urgently the weights you have in the reshape class room and replace them with those covered with rubber like other 1rebel gyms. Yesterday I almost cut away 2cm of my skin with those weights

I came here for the spin class. It's super expensive but in my opinion the instructors for the spin class are not nearly as good as Boom Cycle. Boom Cycle in Holborn especially with Bangs is waaaaaay better. I really thought the price would be a measure of how good the instructors are, but I don't feel that's where their money is spent.

    Rude and incompetent reception

I do not get the hype. The workouts are basically easier, less-coached, lamer versions of what you can get out there. Want treadmill + weights? Go to Barrys. Want indoor cycling? Go to Psycle or SoulCycle. Want to box? Go to Kobox. These guys are all about their marketing, hence the over-the-top studios. You’re allowed to bring your phone in and record classes as they want you to post about them on instagram despite how distracting this is for classes.

Went for the ride classes— always fun, energetic, and challenging. The instructors are friendly and help when they can. The staff are helpful enough to point you in the general direction of where to go (lockers, studios, changing rooms, etc). The changing and shower area are very nice and outfitted with everything you need (toiletries, lotion, hairdryers, etc). The entire place is well designed and decorated. Everything is on point. ??

Absolutely fantastic gym. I booked one of their classes on OneClass, fearing it would be too intensive. It was tough alternating between treadmills and other exercises and you don't have that much time to get used to the exercises and understand the movements but it works. I was out of breath and let me tell you that the atmosphere is fierce and extremely motivating. I would recommend to anyone to loves fitness and wants this extra push. Also changing rooms are just heaven. Not only the lockers are practical, but there is everything you need, so you don't have to bother taking with you shampoo and shower gel, hydrating cream or anything. It is large enough as well so you get quickly to showers and you get easily a spot to do your make up and hair. Overall fantastic!!

I love this place - and this branch in particular! Staff is beyond nice, the interior is stylish and instructor will push you to your boundaries. The best thing though is that the have everything you can ever need (toiletries, water bottles and even hair bands), so you only need to carry your gym gear and everything else is taken care of.👍🏼

Best spin classes and reshape (hiit). I recommended it to all my friends. I wish they had reformer at that center but I love it regardless. The smoothies are so good too! I became an unlimited member right after my first class. Be prepared to sweat!

1Rebel is my favorite. From the moment you walk in at St Mary Axe and are welcomed by the amazing staff at reception (special shoutout to the fabulous Mr. Wicked) to the moment you enter Marieca’s class to the point you take a super hot shower in the luxurious changing rooms. Honestly I love all the instructors, they are all so talented, professional and focused, but I have a special place in my heart for M. Will go out of my way for her classes. Highly recommend.

Had a good spinning session here. The bathroom is amazing, you got to try the cold towels after a workout. Instructor was professional. There are also different classes to try. The downside as expected is that is is quite expensive.

This gym is fantastic! I moved to London from the Midlands where I was very much part of a fitness community. After trying out Virgin Active, Fitness First, PureGym... etc, this was the first gym where I fell in love with the classes and particularly the mental strength you get after each cycle class. I would recommend it to anyone. The instructors are incredibly talented and put all their energy into each class.

Continues to be one of the best boutique gyms in London! Great classes, amazing instructors who really love what they do and will not rest until they know you have been pushed to your limit. Even the front of house staff seem to be passionate and have huge amounts of energy for 1Rebel. Yes more expensive than a standard gym membership but this isn’t a standard workout!! Like the classes but the fact they haven't banned the idea of being in each other sweat by forcing us to use the same treadmills and boxes just goes to show they don't care about hygeine and just want to maximise their revenue by having a class maxed out.
