heard great things about these ponds so I travelled all the way to London, but they were quite disappointing. From books and documentaries one would expect a nature reserve with a few small lakes. In reality it's a bunch of small reservoirs in the middle of a typical city park. On top of that you have got to pay for and book in advance to stay for 1 hour. They're probably worth for the posh londoners living nearby, so they can say they're "wild swimming" or something like that, but there are so many nicer and less pretentious places in England!

Having to pay is ridiculous and furthermore there was hardly anyone in it and they said it was fully booked.

I went with some friends, and The Life Safe Team ruined my day. It seemed they didn't like my swimming style (just mine) and any time I jumped to the water they were calling me the attention. Ladies, don't bother, I swim since I' m 5 years old in Olympic pools, so I know what I'm doing. My first and last time I go there.

A great and friendly place to come with either friends or family. All the times I have been I did have to wait in quite a long queue, but once you’re in, you can get changed in single sex changing rooms and also leave your belongings there. Once in the water, there is plenty of Space and multiple floating rings to rest on so you can rest for a while. There are always lifeguards around looking out for you so it is very safe.

Lovely place for a dip except on very hot and busy days when the whole world tries to get in and then moans about how busy it was! It is not a large space but it is one of the only places to swim in natural, non chlorinated water in North London.

Glorious wild swimming spot in Hampstead Heath. There are shower facilities and changing rooms available.

Very little space to lie down on your towel and as a result the areas where you can lie down are damp because there’s alway someone drying off there. The water gets very muddy as soon as there are a few people in the water.

The lifeguards are cheerful and watching and keeping the ponds and surrounding sun bathing areas are all is in order - a safe beautiful spot to enjoy the long hot summer days of 2018 priceless and better than going abroad

Extremely small space to put a towel down or even to stand, the water is dirty and has nasty suprises like old concrete peaces under the water where some people cut them self including me. They have 4-5 lifeguards who enjoy shouting at people for no good reason and they charge an entrance fee but it does not look like there should be one as the lifeguards collect the fee and give change that is on the top of a trash bin and no receipt in sight.

Beautiful nature, cold water, friendly guard. Typical to see other swimmers as well. As of October 2021, open for swimming thru October, and then closed until April.

🫀 The pond itself is as beautiful as ever, but the experience is not. I used to spend the day there with a book and picnic, sliding into the water whenever I felt like it. Now there’s a portakabin for ticket sales, signs everywhere telling you not to do this and that, taped-off areas.. plus timed ses...

😠 Absolutely outrageous that you have to pay 4£50 and book a 1h slot online. It used to be a friendly relaxing place to come to and now it is just another corporate place to make money and stop the less fortunate to access simple leisure. BE READY TO QUEUE

😠 Turned up and it was not what I expected, I even bought bread(uncooked toast) to feed the ducks πŸ¦†, I am absolutely appalled, I would like the council to rename the place as it's very misleading! NOT HAPPY!!
