An irregularly shaped former 19th.Century gravel pit on the southeastern tip of Epping Forest and owned by the Corporation of London. Also the site of the long demolished Whipps Cross Lido, now the habitat of birds and ducks. The irregular shape and uneven grade makes for an interesting amble around the perimeters with unimpeded views across the water. Attractive spot with weekend boat hire.

Really nice. Such a varied place. Wide open plains, a massive pond with all kinds of birds, forest areas that you could get lost in, little huts selling food and drink, plus boat rental for a reasonable price and all in a relatively small space. You can go for a stroll for 20 minutes or spend a whole afternoon there. Very Nice.

Amazing walk round pond. Recommended for families. Lots of space. It felt like a beach too. A bit of forest too. Lots of wildlife and different species.

Nice area to ride your bike to. Before the pandemic there was a cafe there and boating to be able to do... but now it’s just a quiet park, car park never open and just a scene of nature. It’s a home for loads of ducks and swans too. Even though it’s not to big, riding the bike there was amazing!

Best example of the beauty of our mother earth. Hollow pond is a natural habitat of several birds, insects and other living organisms. It is a combination of wide spread lakes and forest. I went there with my friends and we had a great time. The sunset was amazing. There is two cafe, from there you can have food and drinks. One of the best spot for calming your mind and enjoy precious time with family ❀️❀️❀️❀️❀️

A lovely area of nature, with a large lake / pond with a variety of birds, and lots of green space. Great for kids, dog walking, picnics, running or a bit of headspace. Has a couple of car parks, and a few small shops - close to the A12, Leytonstone, Wanstead & Woodford

A hidden gem in east London - this beautiful pond in Leytonstone is gorgeous! It’s the perfect size for a lab afternoon walk around the ponds. There is also the opportunity to hire boats which I’m looking forward to going back and doing in the future. Would recommend for a Sunday afternoon - bring a picnic!

Really good experience .We've been there for the first time with our son, took a boat(really good price as well)and they offer us a life west for our little one.The staff was so friendly, responsive to our needs and brilliant with our son. It is a family business, they are all so nice. Lovely place to take our son for a boat ride,a nice coffee and a delicious ice cream 🍦 Highly recommend.

Great place to have a quick boat ride. If needs can moor it by the banks and have a bit of a walk about in the woods. Loads of Ducks, swans and veriety of birds. Have seen some fishing too.

Its a nice pond with boats but don't like seeing any dogs near it as they are dirty and smelly.

I love this little piece of nature. Sadly it's very dry, due to the heatwave and some areas had fire damage. But it will recover, if people are sensible.

I love hollow pond. I like to go for a walk there or play with my son every now and then. Its very beautiful there and a great place to escape from busy London streets.. I took one star off not because of the place but people who go there. unfortunately many dog walkers don't clean behind their dogs.. so the play and walk there is not always that relaxed.. especially in the grass because we always have to look out not to step in a mine... also I wish there were more bins provided.. for us its not an issue to keep our litter until we find where to bin it but for many people unfortunately it is.

Took the dogs for a walk and a dip on a hot day. Pretty standard as parks go. Certainly nothing special but as a result, not crowded. Could do with more owners picking up after their dogs here. And don’t be conned into paying for a spot in the car park - it’s free on the roads bordering the park.

A large grassy area with some trees, bushes, birds and the pond. Beautiful at any time if the year and perfect for exploration with three little ones. Don't forget to bring your wellies especially around autumn and winter.

πŸ‘ Fantastic space to jog, walk, or sit and do nothing. The park is flat and in the middle is a beautiful lake. Have only walked around the lake, so I'm not too sure what is beyond. There is also a nice restaurant near the entrance with toilet facilities and for what I've seen, the food doesn't look...

πŸ‘ Small but nice area, the pond includes a fountain and is surrounded by a path with a foot bridge.
