I saw how the hatch was opened near the lake from it all flowed out of the toilet directly into the lake where the children bathed.

Nice place to spend time with kids in summer. Sand beach and water play area for kids. Given three star for parking, £8 for three hours on Sunday by council and that’s too much.

Very good place to visit with kids. Kids can splash and even swim here.. Safe for kids. There is play ground, enough open space to have a walk, snakes shop, ice cream shop, mini train tour over there. parking available.

It is a nice place for a day out on a warm day, easy access to toilets a cafe, pub I had issues with the parking on the day as it was full but there is also parking for residents only.Be careful where you park as I noticed a traffic enforcement officer walking and checking the vehices parked along the road to the lido. You can spend day on the sand while splashing in the lake have a walk around the woods or just simply chill out on the grass it can get crowdy on good weather and holidays .

An easily overcrowded asset in Ruislip. In the middle of Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve, this former reservoir for the Grand Union canal offers an easy day or afternoon out for families and dog walkers. The all weather perimeter footpath allows year round access, revealing the variety of habitats created by the largest body of water in the north of the borough of Hillingdon. Let your children play on the beach, with the Pirate Ship, or in the Water Garden. Food and drinks available from the San Remo cafe, (along with toilets).

Very pleasant walk surrounded by woods to explore further on another day. Plenty of amenities. Was a great way to spend a chilly boxing day.

Aviod on sunny days, as very popular, limited parking then. Great spot for a countryside feel walk, especially on a winter's day. Easy to get to by car from West London or public transport. There is a car park fee. There is a miniature railway that goes round the lake and a sandy bench front with a children's play area.

A nice artificial beach and park with childrens play area and model railway. Calm trail for joggers and walkers, benches to sit and relax. Amzing beach for kids and families to enjoy a nice view of wateraide and clear skies. There is a watch lens for watching the sky. You can watch the sky at night for an amazing view. Toilet facilities available inside the area.

I've wanted to visit for a while and was totally surprised when I got there at how 'out of London' it felt. It's so serene and such a gem for the local community to enjoy. Also I didn't know about the connection with the West of London Astronomical Society who hold free planet and star gazing events as there's very little light pollution and they have a Walk the Planets around the lake. The beach is mostly well kept and the water appears clear. Cafes and refreshments on site too.

Coming from London, it’s a bit too far from central for what you will find there. We visited on a Friday around 3 pm and stayed for two hours. The water and shore it’s muddy and it’s not very pleasant to have a bath. (There’s a kid water playground where you can sneak to refresh if you don’t want to swim in the lido). Kids are everywhere enjoying themselves so you get the Chaos that comes with that. (This was on the 12th of August, school holidays) There’s a cafe to get refreshments and a nice forest for a walk in the nature next door.

A lovely place to visit, either with kids or without. The Lido itself was not really suitable for swimming in as there was a lot of algae at the edge - although this didn't stop some families paddling there. There were also red flags up indicating not to enter the water. There are lots of different birds on and around the water, including swans, ducks, herons and cormorants to name a few we saw. There is a fantastic beach area with a large playpark area for kids to enjoy and a separate splash park area that is great for warm days. There are tables and benches dotted around that you could happily sit and eat a picnic at - though at busy times you are not guaranteed that there will be one available so if you plan on a picnic, it may be an idea to bring a blanket to sit on. There is a cafe by the beach and I will recommend the cherry ice cream! Plenty of bins about and they seem to be emptied regularly. If you like a good walk, there is a path all the way around the Lido, there is also a trail to follow to learn information about our solar system should this be of interest.

When it comes to picture spots and places to chill in nature. It's one of the best I've ever seen especially for London, but the big beach is very much only for kids and there's way, way too many people there so it's a nightmare for people who don't like large crowds. But it can be avoided if you're in other places. The cafe was extremely over priced just for the worst burger I've ever tasted and basic cafe chips. If it was based on the natural scenery it would be 5 stars no questions asked. But as a whole it's got it's bad parts to it.

Avoid this place!!! The water is dirty and disgusting and the whole Lido has a awful smell to it. The place is usually cramped with people who are not the most civilised.

I really loved the walk there in late September. Not to many people and yet it felt good and safe. The walk around the reservoir is about one hour so it is a perfect longer walk. There is even a Dog Beach there which is increadible. The walk is along the narrow rail railway- very cute. The place is very clean and taken care of and yet looks very natural. I absolutely loved the beach with the palm trees, pirate ships and wooden crocodiles. It must be haven for children in the Summer.

One of the best places to visit as a family … the artificial beach and kids play areas are fantastic addition to the natural beauty that Ruislip Lido offers. Ample paid parking spaces ( Hillingdon first card holders have 3 hours free parking). The pub and restaurants in the premise make the venue more attractive.. good place for a nature walk

Ruislip Lido left me with a mixed impression. The water's foul odour was disappointing, but beyond the sandy shores, the inviting forest area was perfect for leisurely walks. The lively presence of ducks and seagulls added a charming touch. Although I regret not experiencing the train ride.

Parking Fiasco! A complete humiliation trying to figure out how to pay for parking as a visitor (and determined not to pay a fine)! There are two parking lots of which one is split into two parts. The pay machines have removed the capability to pay as a visitor even though the instructions give two methods (1-"members", 2-"visitors" which doesn't work). There are no signs indicating it is parking only for members. After moving the car twice and ending up in the "guests" parking (how are we supposed to know what "guests" refers to!?) eventually found this sign directing us to the pub (and of course warning of a fine!). Then received a cocky attitude from staff at the pub saying the parking is not their responsibility until finally we asked if we can buy a coffee and after asking again how to pay for parking, then being directed to a small touch screen at the side of the pub where you can register your vehicle to park. This is the only way to park as a guest and avoid a fine!! All this took about half an hour of boxing day time and was a complete humiliation! To the staff lady at the pub - your attitude sucks and you know exactly what you are doing making visitors essentially unwelcome!! Between the council parking machines giving errors for visitors and the pub experience it was a shocking experience!

Let’s start with the parking, £8 for three hours on a Sunday. The walk itself was lovely but I wouldn’t describe this as a beach, it is more like a huge muddy pond, over populated with people smoking and sitting quite close together. Sand filthy, full of beer bottle tops and glass etc. Lots of other plastic rubbish floating around in the water, this is sad as ducks and wildlife share this space too. Signs boards present stating no swimming but clearly ignored as lots of kids were quite far in, this is a major safety concern as there are no lifeguards around. Feel this should be monitored better. Train ride back to carpark was enjoyable for our 3 year old, costing £3 per adult and £2 per child running quite frequently. Cafe shop fairly priced for both gifts and refreshments. Overall a nice day for some fresh air but 2 stars due to the disappointment of the poorly kept “beach” area which would really benefit from some maintenance ie. Litter pickers and more bins around to avoid people dumping their rubbish.

Expensive parking if you're not a local. Far too busy on a nice sunny day. Defies the whole point of the lido. If you go there after a hot sunny day the entire area is filled with rubbish. People should be ashamed of ruining such a beautiful place. The beach, park, woodland paths and picnic areas are so full it's impossible not to step on bottles and slimy food wrappers after dark. It's no longer safe enough to enjoy like the good old days in the picture.

We love visiting this lido. It's the perfect mix of casual fun. There are plenty of picnic spots along the easy walk around the lido. Wooded areas for den making. A man made beach with a pirateship park. Outside gym and public washblock. The walk around the lido is disabled and pram friendly. A toilet block on the furthest side of the lido and better maintenance would make it nicer to visit. With parking charged at £8 for 3 hours during the summer months, the council is raking it in, so there's no reason why little improvements shouldn't be made.

I always like the LIDO - I usually go there once a year - the walk around the LIDO is great and you can follow the planets for upto 12 stations - the Hillingdon council have invested in putting tar in most places - so it was very good to over with my walker - there were only a few places that needed tar - plus the visitors to the LIDO were extremely friendly and spoke with everyone even strangers - I only took 1 picture of the trees and lake because everywhere you looked nature is beautiful 👍

Ruislip Lido is a large outdoor swimming pool and recreation area located in Ruislip, London. It is open from May to September and offers a variety of activities for all ages, including swimming, sunbathing, boating, fishing, and a children's play area. The lido is set in a beautiful natural setting, with a large lake and plenty of green space. There is also a beach area with sand and a small pier. The water in the lido is clean and clear, and the temperature is kept at a comfortable level. The lido is a great place to cool off on a hot summer day. It is also a popular spot for families, as there is something for everyone to enjoy. The children's play area is particularly popular, with a variety of slides, swings, and climbing frames. The lido is also a great place to relax and unwind. There are plenty of sunbeds and deckchairs to choose from, and you can enjoy a drink from the cafe or bar. Ruislip Lido is a great place to spend a day out. It is a fun and relaxing place for all ages.

Lovely place great for kids just a shame the parking is a nightmare unless your a hillingdon resident. The car park right next to the lido is for resident only and there are plenty of parking attendants to catch people out. Ended up parking just of Bury Street and walking 15 minutes down to the lido which is annoying when you have things to carry. The cafe is great and owner a lovely chap lol do visit them.

Love coming here and walking around the lido. Walk the Planets boards around the water with facts about all the planets. Great playground on the beach for kids of all ages, with a wet play area. Yummy selection of ice cream flavours at the cafe on the beach; there was also a smaller cafe between the car park and the beach, as well as an ice cream van on the day we went. The train between the car park and the beach is a nice treat and ticket prices are very reasonable. There's carvery there too which is good value too.

It was alright, I mean, it is what it is, an artificial beach, when I went there, the beach was fantastic which was about 5yrs ago, but I've heard that it's not as good as it is now in 2020, so my comment is irrelevant due to the fact I went years ago and the lido's changed

Not the best. Good view and really cool play areas but half of the people were swimming in the water despite there being a massive sign saying it had parasites and turtle poop. There was also no lifeguards around and I couldn’t stop itching on the way home.
