The Serpentine is a beautiful man-made lake in Hyde Park, created in 1730 by Queen Caroline. It is called the Serpentine due to its curving shape that follows the shape of the valley of the Westbourne Stream, which now flows underground. Britain’s oldest swimming-club is located at the Serpentine, in the Lido and they are allowed to swim between 05:00 to 09:30 am only. Otherwise is not allowed to swim anywhere in Hyde park.

Beautiful for a peaceful day out. Especially in the summer. Lovely walks around the lake and gardens or boating on the lake itself or you can swim in the serpentine if you are brave!!! It's nice and flat to walk around so don't worry about hills! Great for people of all ages and abilities. Plenty of cafe's to get refreshments at too!

Such a beautiful and impressive lake in London’s Hyde Park. Great location and not so busy when we went. A must to visit when you are in London.

Beautiful place to spend your evening. The near by resturants are also good which give you a nice view. The place is quite a happening place with hoverboards all round. Boating is also available. So if you go with your friends you'll definitely come again.

The Serpentine is a 16-acre recreational lake in Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park that was commissioned by Queen Caroline in 1730. For those who want to walk, row, swim, bird watch or just sit on a bench or terrace, the Serpentine is an excellent destination.

Beautiful water in the heart of the City. Terrific boating. Whether walking around the lake or just relaxing by the edge, this is one fantastic place. Popular restaurant commands one end. While a beautiful Italian Garden, the other. Easy access.

Perfect London Park! Wonderful for picnics in summer & cycling in winter. One can still escape in the long grasses & not be seen. Love a swim in the Serpentines Lido on hot summer days. A little muddy & slimy but I’m happy swimming with ducks. Outdoor showers too!

Boat ride is worth the wait in the long queue. Christo’s Hyde Park Mastaba installation is a must see any time of the day. However sunset does look magical.

Lovely part of Hyde Park with a nice lake, lots of ducks and swans. Great to have a stroll on a nice day and get some fresh air. It can be quiet busy with locals and tourists but overall there is always space for everyone! On a sunny day it is ideal for picnics and spending an afternoon in the sun or under a tree in the shade. There are a few places for food and drinks and also a boat club to rent a boat for half an hour or more.

Worth a walk around. I went specifically to look at the Christo floating oil barrel sculpture. Looks a bit like a multi-coloured table top mountain, that floats. I liked it. Pedalo’s are a good idea but real pricey. I could handle £10 per pedalo but £10 per person is nuts. London!

This is a really nice long lake in Hyde Park. You can hire a manual boat for up to 1 hour here and there are also many cafes around the lake as well.

This amazing place is few minutes walk from my office. A lovely place to bird watch. I was not able to fly anywhere during the lockdowns but my interest in Aviation was tickled here. I love watching the swans take off and land. It reminded of being in an Airbus A380. This area in Hyde Park gets busy. Nearest station is Hyde Park Corner.

Always love taking a stroll along the lake and pausing to take pictures of the wildlife bobbing along without a care in the world. As good a place as any to relax and gather ones thoughts.

A beautiful part of Hyde Park in Central London. It's a great escape from the rat race and it's almost surreal when you consider you're right in the centre of London. Good choice of bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Fantastic for lovers of wildlife, primarily birds, squirrels etc. Likewise, there's a choice of 3 or 4 galleries for art and/or history lovers.

A beautiful lake Inside Hyde park offering wonderful views and peaceful seats by the lake. Really good for relaxing and sun bathing. It can get quite crowded so make sure to check if it is crowded before planning to visit. But if you live in the city this is a nice lil gem to get away from the chaos of the city. It also has a cute coffee shop on the side. I would not say it is a must visit attraction in London, but if you are in the area already then why not pay this one a visit. It's quite big so you can find a lot of people jogging hence again proving to be a good spot for the people living nearby.

Lovely location, seemingly good food if you're allowed to order it. Staff rude and unhelpful. Told by one server that you can order from the lunch menu at 11:30am, but when ordering at the bar you're then told you cannot order until 12pm. That in itself is not a problem, but the attitude of the staff ought to be addressed.

Great atmosphere & Friendly staff. I would certainly recommend stopping by this cafe when visiting Hyde Park. If you like idling by the lake, good food and good customer service, this is a place to be in.

Stay away from the Benugo Coffee. Poor products, poor service and cheated on the eat out to help out scheme. Still waiting on a refund! **UPDATE** so 14 days after being promised a refund it still has not been processed and furthermore the email provided by Benugo is not working. Shocking levels of service by this company, now in the hands of the credit card company to pursue.

Nice to walk round, especially as the sun begins to go down. Have been following a group of cygnets and goslings since they hatched, there survival and changes to them. The plastics in the water is sad to see. With popularity comes the discarded rubbish.

What I really love about the Serpentine are the changing seasons and this reflects upon what goes on in the water. During the warmer months loads of people out having so much fun on their paddle boats, guess there have been a few marriage proposals out there, very romantic. The swans and wildlife are exceptional and gives a great sense of movement on the water which is quite inspiring during the colder winter months. The Royal Parks keep this really nice and tidy which is great to see and a very welcome tourist attraction, so go hire a paddle boat and enjoy.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful lake in the center of Hyde Park: huge. It houses several waterfowl of all sizes: from white birds slightly smaller than seagulls to beautiful swans. Passers-by feed them and this creates quite a few scuffles among birds. Beautiful and entertaining. (Original) Bellissimo lago al centro di Hyde Park: enorme. 👍👍 Great place opposite the Kensington Palace. Loads of ducks geese swans pigeons and seagulls are there. Just recently saw this beautiful black swan swimming alongside with the white ones. Sometimes at weekend people come here with their modell boat for racing. Interesting to watch them.
