Big shingle beach seems to go for miles. Good place for family's to relax. Reasonable selection of cafes etc across the road from the beach. At the old Town end several free museums and two vehicular lifts up to the top of the cliffs. Excellent views when you get there.

It's a nice beach but a bit small so gets very busy in the summer making it hard to find somewhere to relax. This is a gravel beach with beautiful views and loads of wildlife. Plenty of arcades and chip shops plus a mini rail way. Gravel can be bit hard to walk on in some places as you slide down and obviously you might want to bring chairs if you plan sitting for a while. Overall a nice beach thats reasonable clean apart from alot of dead fish and the odd bit of plastic. Sadly the anglers that fish down at Hastings don't have alot of respect for sharks being one of the worst beach's for seeing dead fish on with a couple piles of lesser spotted cat shark that had been killed and finding one shark still alive tangled in fishing line with hook in its mouth left to die this is not only evil but could be dangerous if a kid was to come along and touch it not realise the sharks still alive. Hopefully local authorities will continue to work with anglers to educate and protect the shark population and hopefully see anglers gain respect for the sport and the fish.

Nice beach just a shame there was a few dog fish that had been left by the fisherman on the beaches. One was still alive caught up in a fishing line luckily my friend managed to save it. Not many amusements but the one I want into Flamingos was good loads if places to get fish and chips saw some great sites/views. I would recommend seeing the beacon, walking through the nature reserve up east hill, checking out the crime museum and the shipwreck museum and definitely go see the castle you don't have to pay to go up the hill and see the outside of the castle

We spent 2 days here in Hastings. On the second day we ventured around the Old Town and took the small funicular train to the hilltop castle ruins. The view was good from the small cafe. The Old Town itself is small, with at least one excellent old pub. My wife lived the small shops, some selling artifacts created in local studios.

If you drive towards the Old Town you will find a handy car park on the right called Pelham Place car park. It's not free and costs Β£3.50 for 2 hours, or Β£4.60 3 hours, although you can pay for longer. 5 electric charge points. There are toilets available. Plenty of eating places nearby. This car park is right next to the beach. The beach is very pebbly throughout. The tide will come in fairly close so do check the times. This particular part of the beach dogs are allowed certain times of the year and not between 1st May - 30th Sept.. HOWEVER, dogs are allowed on other areas of the beach, but they're also full of pebbles. It's not as busy as other beaches due to said pebbles !!!

I work near here, so the place is always on my route. Sometimes go here to relax. Very spacious. Not a lot of people. Locals keep to themselves. Shopping centre and town centre located nearby so easily accessible for restaurants and shopping if need be. On road, underground and shopping centre parking available at a price. Depending on the weather a very must place to go to. The beach is stone and sand by the way. (Correction, I forgot to update but it has both stone part and sandy part just further down). But there is a pier, with rides for children for now. Not sure how long that's around. But you can have an amazing time just walking along the ridge of the beach just for peace of mind. Perfect getaway for the day. Not far from London. You could go in afternoon and be back in evening with little to no traffic. Amazing time as always.

Fantastic beach front ideal for a little dip in the sea or just watching the world so by. I really enjoy a long walk along to the old town or along to bex Hill the other way. Really relaxing with the new pier in the middle. Bench along the front so many places to sit and enjoy

Stunning sights with a lot to do in the surround areas, I highly recommend a visit here if you are looking for some where to unwind. The area is super relaxing and has many attractions and things to keep you or your kids entertained close by!

Lovely clean seafront, nice promenade and pier. Pebble beach as is most of that coastline, not as busy as some nearby beaches so good for crowd avoidance. Nice little town, plenty of eating and coffee shops etc

Sunny but chilly - still nice to walk on the pebble stone beach. Fresh air and the horizon - can’t go wrong. The town area seemed a bit desolate and grimy in winter but several cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Really great beach. Big enough to escape away from others. A massive open pier is a great thing to visit.

A pebble beach that is fairly standard for this part of the world. Lifted by its natural beauty, let down by ugly modern buildings on the sea front.

Steep pebble beach. There is sand when the ride is low. The waves can be wild and crash at the shore. Lovely place.

Hastings has changed, maybe for the worst. The arcades have gone on the seafront. Though these have been replaced with very expensive chip shacks on the beach front. That part looks nice. The little fairground is shut, not sure if permanent or not. There wa a new set of arcades in place of the fair. Just felt desolate and empty. Not a lot to do down there any more. Went on the miniature train. Was a bit expensive for a round trip for the kids (Β£16) 4 people. Been visiting Hastings for many years, the journey takes too long to warrant going again to be disappointed.

Pay and park on road, thats more cheaper than designated beach parking. Nice pebble beach

It is one of my favorite beach. Not as crowded as other commercial beaches like Bournemouth. Perfect for family day out. Plenty for everyone to engage.

Really clean beach with lots of options to eat. Nice to see a lifeguard present. The beach wasn't smelly like most of UK beaches, which was a bonus. Shame about the town-full of homeless druggies and rough people...

❀The best moment ever!!! Best trip for the low budget target with family. Only last 4 hours long to reach to there including for the return by train. I went with my mom. She was so happy.

The beach is nice but unfortunately the area needs a face lift, looking a little tired to be honest. Best to go straight to the old town. Its feels and looks better, plenty to see and do there and has a real local connection to the fishing industry.

It is a nice pebbled beach, although it doesn't seem to have as many souvenir/gifts shops as places like Eastbourne and Brighton.

Lovely beach. Parking gets really busy during the weekends, if weather is nice you might be waiting an hour for your space

Marvellous seafront, a pebble beach tho, very clear water. Also plenty of amenities in the waterfront area.

A must visit place in Hastings. Located at a walkable distance from Hastings mainline station. Well maintained with life guards on duty by the shore. Good for morning walks as well. There is, however, a good expanse of sand as the tide goes out - ideal for beach games and even better for sandcastles.
