First visit to Lee on the Solent, very nice place it's pebbly, but overall lovely little clean beach with good walkways easy access to chippy and shops. And you get great views across the Isle of Wight. You can spot ships, surfers and container ships heading in out of Southampton

Nice pebbled beach with clam waters. Isle of Wight almost feels touching distance. There is a nice charm to the parade and local area with Art Deco buildings and touches to be appreciated. A great place for kids to collect shells.

I love this beach as it's usually so quiet. There's lots to do with a couple of play parks, skate section and arcade. There are lots of shops along the street too. You can also walk through Brownlee training camp as well.

A great place to walk and enjoy the views. Lots of nearby cafés and restaurants in the town center. The northern end of the beach has huts and you can watch the planes landing on the Solent Airport.

Lovely Beach area! Roads can be busy getting there, but there is a good amount of parking at not bad rates either. Pay by mobile, cash or card, sometimes not working as well as they should. Beach is generally quiet, lots of places to grab some food cafés, chip shops, etc. Brilliant amusements there have been going for years! Few pool tables, 2p machines and fruities etc, aslo they have a little cafe there too! There are lots of places for ice cream. Splash Park here is normally closed, but this can get busy when it's open and on this is situated next to a little park. There's not much for toddlers, but there's a swing. Overall, it was a nice place to spend a few hours, a bag of chips on the beach followed by a game of pool and an ice cream. Just a shame how people leave the beach by leaving their rubbish on the floor, even though there are plenty of bins! Please, if you visit, clear up after yourselves so others can also enjoy the beach.

Quite and beautiful beach, went on Sunday, saw few families having meals, enjoying the sunshine. Nice visit overall, different from commercial beaches like Bournemouth or Brighton.

Run along this beach every time I visit the area. Quite clean and well maintained. Shops for icecream or coffee. I get nice responses from the locals when I say 'good morning', etc. On a walk or run. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Everything you need for a quick bumble to the coast; shingle and stone beach but beautiful views of the IOW across the sea. Cafes, ice creams, fish and chips along with so much more. Small arcade next to a park and plenty of parking.

Stoney beach, so take chairs, wasn't crowded and the carpark had spaces. There are toilets and couple of cafes.

Nice flat surface for wheelchair users and buggies, went to Lee on Solent on a Monday, no opportunity to buy fish and chips during lunch time, we did manage to buy an amazing multi coloured icecream which was much enjoyed. No social distancing what so ever by members of the public, public toilet was pretty gross, beach was clean hardly no rubbish.

Sandy, shingle, beach, not too busy (yes was a bit colder and not scorching sun). Nice to relax with good facilities near by, toilet, splash park, changing room, hot drinks and amusements etc.

I really enjoyed going with my family. It was a great evening with the great views. Being an aviation fan, I especially loved it because the airport was behind you, meaning the planes would take off over your head. The only problem was it was a rock beach not sand, but that isn't something to criticise.

Great community of sea swimmers, local runners, and dog walkers! The park run at 9am on a Saturday is fantastic energy. Such friendly people and a sweet quiet beach to enjoy!

The beach is amazing. Relatively lively in the summer here and it just feels great to be here. Some restaurants and cafes are in the area, and the views over The Solent are nice

Visit made during lockdown, many places unfortunately closed for obvious reasons. Large car park and road parking available, plenty of spaces during this visit. Views of the Isle of Wight, and Calshot. Long promenade for a walk with seating available, public toilets were open and very clean. Not so many cafes open but those that were open offered takeaway service.. After lockdown children's splash pool and play areas should be of interest. Skate board area will also be available. At the moment just enjoy the sunshine the view and have a walk for excercise.

Very nice but you need water shoes as its not a Sand beach and not pleasant to walk to the water or lie down to sun bathe.

  • 4/5 James S. 1 year ago on Google
I'd imagine in the summer it's a lot more lively. It's your atypical British seaside town. Parking is reasonable and plenty of it. Bit annoying the machines were out of order however just used the app. However,it was sunny and the views were amazing.

Nice and tidy beach with a lots of car park spaces around. Small splash park for the kids as well as playground so kids can spend nice time. Opposite the beach there is a Tesco, nice cafe with really tasty ice creams. This is nice place to practice paddle boarding and kayaking. Good place to spend time with friends and family.

A lovely old fashioned resort, simple but has everything you need without the rip-offs.

Parked at Salterns car park at Hill Head (free!) and walked the promenade to Lee-on-the-Solent centre. Queued for a well deserved soft ice cream at the Blue Bird cafe. Excellent value! Knee playing up so walked back. Only 4 miles but hot and sunny with a welcome breeze off the sea as ever. Loads of people on the beach and in the sea. Satisfying stroll and most are social distancing. Love this place!

Stony beach in a very accessible location for buggies, wheelchairs etc. Lots of places to buy hot food, ice creams, snacks, souvenirs and beach get up nearby. Very convenient for Solent Airport if you're flying in, and plenty of parking!

Lovely beach with good facilities plus safe swimming. It's our nearest beach so we go whenever we can and prefer pebbly beach as use beach mats....no sand at high tide but a little at low tide. Possible to park right next to the beach which suits us.

Lee on the Solent is a great place to go for a walk by the sea. COVID 19 has not allowed some of the usual dining establishments to open. But take a packed lunch and plenty of park benches are available to enjoy the scenery. Lovely place to escape by the sea ??

It is a lovely place. Almost feels as a perfect holiday spot. Long, well maintained beach with beautiful view and wide pavement. Lots of benches for sit and enjoy the beauty of the Nature. Coffee Shops and Restaurants some of them right next to the beach. Playground for kids. Lots of relatively cheap parking place. Some even free.

Well I won't be going back for a while. I saw two people wearing a mask. That was it. No social distancing lining up for ice creams. It was very busy and I think most people have forgotten that we are in a pandemic. I went and sat in the safety of the car to eat mine contemplating the effects of people's bad choices. After being so careful for what seems forever looks like we are in it for longhall!
