The site itself is lovely. There's a lot to offer especially for kids. However, the caravan we stayed in ruined the experience for us. It was very cold. The heating didn't work well and staff were not very helpful. The caravan looked quite run down. There is a lot of noise on the site. I wouldn't stay in a caravan again and I would specify to stay away from the main area Amendment to previous review- I just want to clarify about a few of my points. Regarding the heating, we were given a heater but unless it's on constantly the van gets cold because the few radiators in the van are not sufficient whatsoever. Additionally, the water from the shower was scalding hot and unusable. Lastly, the booking system for the pool made absolutely no sense. I tried to book swimming around 3-4 weeks before the holiday and most of it was already booked!! We overhead that you could just turn up over two two hour periods so we tried this. It was absolutely chaotic. The pool was cram packed and then there were very few changing facilities available so when the hour slot was up there was nowhere for everyone to change... the booking system doesn't make sense. As said, we would consider coming back when the pool booking has stopped and in a different caravan. Reception was made aware of all the above. But it took a lot of visits and we were still left unsatisfied.

Initial thoughts on entering it looked like a nice place. We where in a camper van no directions to pitch had to try and find it ourselves in the end had to ask a lady who then directed us , pitch was nice but had no water tap ? Food is so expensive we ate out of the camp everyday. Pot luck with the showers most days freezing cold if it was cold in the morning you might be lucky to get a hot shower in the evening but don't bank on it. They seriously need updating and a good clean. We have travelled all over the country have to say this is on our list (and there are not many) of one of the WORST for touring pitch facilities. Sadly will not come back again to a Parkdean site or recommend to our touring companions.

Amazing! This site is everything you could want, friendly staff the man at the mini golf on Thursday was lovely! Outdoor and indoor pool, lots of different activities from high ropes to mini golf, food in the restaurant could be better for the price but the waiter staff on Thursday evening he was brilliant such a credit he did not stop cleaning or serving. It has an onside arcade there wasn't too much on here but kept the kids happy. The evening entertainment was the only thing I felt that let it down however we went during the week so this may be why. The caravan we stayed in was OK bit outdated and small but again served the purpose. Would definitely come back here again!

Absolutely wonderful place! We had the best time here. The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in one of the glamping tents and it was kitted out with everything we needed. We took our dogs and they got a bit hot (didn't anticipate it being so hot) and one of the lovely cleaners went off and found a fan for them. Kids loved the arcade's and most of the fun stuff was 2p machines so you didn't spend a fortune. Food wasn't expensive and there was plenty to do. Clean all round. The only issue was noise in the early hours but that's not the parks fault. Would definitely go back!

Great holiday park for the kids. We used it as a base to go into Bournemouth. Lodge was nice although the rooms were a little small. Kitchen and living space were great. Will definitely come again to explore near the area. Kids entertainment was good but was hoping for a little variety, kids still had a great time. It would have been good if there more dining options. Had great fun on the mini golf!

Booked 3 caravans for a special family trip. All three were either smelly or creaky. Two of our radiators didn't work and then one of the lights stopped working. Washing machines shook the whole caravan when in use, and took hours to do a drying cycle, which you could not stop. Also, no instructions so had to try and google the make and model. Ant powder requested but never arrived. Unpleasant characters arrived for the bank holiday weekend, which led to police being called on two occasions, arguments and loud singing and shouting in the middle of the night, fights in the clubhouse and people walking past banging on caravans in the middle of the night. What food they had was nice, and quite fairly priced, but they seemed to have really low stock of things. No kids fish available when we went to the clubhouse on 2 occasions? You are half an hour from the sea! The arcade staff were great, helpful even when rushed, and one of them even took the time to warn one of our younger family members not to come down by herself following an incident with the problem guests. All of us have stayed here before, but I am not sure the majority of us will be back, which is a shame, as it is a good location, with lots of activities, although they are very pricey!

The site and facilities are lovely. Very close to the beaches and attractions. However we were not in the caravan we booked. We booked the Osmington which is extra wide, has an en-suite bathroom, fire place and other little bits such as a hairdryer and unfortunately we had none of these things. Went down to reception to ask if there was anything that could be done and told we would receive a hairdryer and they would ask maintenance about the fire place, this was on our third day and by the time we left we still hadn’t received the hair dryer or been told about the missing facilities.Although it did not ruin the holiday and the caravan was nice it was not what we paid for.

Had a great time staying here for a long weekend. The caravan was stylish and up to date. Very clean and tidy with all amenities included. The park it self was clean and tidy and all the staff were polite and friendly. We didn't use the swimming pools or entertainment so can't comment on that but the bar was clean and tidy and again the staff very helpful. Does have everything on site needed for a family though and would return here with my children.

Had a fun week with the grandchildren..lots of activities on site. Some you pay extra for but fairly priced...site is kept very clean..The chip shop closed after our second night (think it was a shortage of staff)and the shop closes at 8 so you need to make sure you have your supplies..we didn't eat in the restaurant because it looked busy. Does seem to be short of staff but all staff were very pleasant. We had a couple of issues with the caravan but these were put right straight away...would I recommend??? Yes if you like caravan holidays..

Site was very clean and well maintained. On arrival, caravan was clean. No welcome pack or entertainment passes, which we were told would be there for us. We went to reception that evening and they gave us some passes and said welcome packs were being distributed...we never got one at all in the 5 days we were there. Very child centred entertainment. Restaurant was good, but service was a bit hot and miss. The next day we decided to cook breakfast, no frying pan or grill pan holder, as well as no spoons in the caravan. The park is situated at the side of a very busy road that was used as a racetrack at night which made unbroken sleep a no go. Overall we had a lovely break and would visit again but to not have a caravan on willow crescent!

Our 3rd visit to this Parkdean site but the 1st for a few years. We had a good (dog friendly) caravan that due to the location under trees stayed nice and cool despite the very hot weather in early June! The caravan had an unusual layout which suited us well. The caravan was in decent condition and well equipped. We had a great stay on the camp and would like to pass our thanks on to :- entertainment, site maintenance and catering / hospitality. The only downsides to this site are :- prices, poor opening hours of some of the food outlets and long waits at the bar etc

one of the best caravan parks we have stayed in. Superb location. Beautiful landscaped site with huge mature conifers. All areas are clean and well maintained . Parking next to caravan. All round excellent facilities. Suitable for all ages, mostly flat with some slopes Large Nisa convenience store, fish and chip shop, street food outlet and ice cream kiosk. Fish and chips were tasty, fresh and well cooked but a little expensive. Lots to do for children of all ages. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Comfortable reception area. Large restaurant. Modern gaming arcade. Some activities like crazy golf and trampolines carry an extra charge and I thought were quite expensive especially for larger families. Bus stop right outside site entrance.

Good base for exploring the area, kids entertained, park understaffed the week after half term, outside pool closed on the hottest day of the year, general staff polite and helpful but no visible management to talk to on site. Went for the week (Sat-Sat) in June (after half term) with the family. Caravan was mostly brilliant, very well priced, clean and tidy. We had WiFi in the caravan. Our only negative was that the veranda area was covered in bird poo, we asked five times at reception (most mornings) for it to be cleaned but it wasn’t touched for our entire stay. Entertainment was good, kids disco a every night activities throughout the days. It kept the kids happy which is all we asked for really. When they were open the facilities were good, but most were closed or limited opening during our stay, talking to the staff while we were there this was because Park Dean throw staff on shift for half term and holidays but then use up their ‘budget’ leaving the park massively understaffed at other times. In our week long stay the ice cream truck was only open for one three hour slot, and generally the on site restaurant had one serving staff for the 100 table layout. The staff were awesome, helpful chatty, polite there just needed to be more of them! The swimming pools were a nightmare, confusion about if you needed to book and uncertainty about what was open and when. We worked out that the outside pool closes on Mondays and Fridays as these are ‘check in/out days’ so despite being able to ‘use all on site facilities on check in and check out days’ most of them are closed, this is unlike any other (3) park dean sites I’ve stayed on and it disappointed us enough to write an official complaint (status pending). Overall it was a great caravan park, spoiled, in my opinion, by corporate cost cutting. Won’t be going back as there’s plenty of alternatives.

We loved this site. It was peaceful. We were in the wooded area in a 4 bedroom (8 person) van. (June - 1 week) A few downsides ... the 4 bedrooms meant less living space, you need to take everything you need for using in the kitchen, but there was enough plates, cutlery, glasses and mugs. Big fridge and 3 drawer freezer was a plus. But nothing like washing up liquid and cloths etc. Only a few cooking utensils. A broken tin opener (that was interesting). You'd have to move the dining table to seat all 8 people, to use the sofa, as there weren't enough chairs. Not enough outside furniture, and we had a glorious week, only 1 chair on our veranda. Reasonable shop on site, but the normal pricier than outside supermarkets. We didn't use many facilities but generally they were very helpful at reception and everything was clean and looked well kept. We ate breakfast in the restaurant on our last morning, reasonable price plus choices. Great budget holiday stay. We would return, but consider different accommodation.

I love this place - the park is fantastic with all it's trees and general woodland vibe. We had a caravan which was excellent standard. The facilities are great, lots to do and friendly staff. My only complaint would be the swimming pool. It's so small that full capacity seems to only be about 30 people, if that. The most basic staple thing you expect to be able to do on a holiday park is go swimming. However, lots of families were being turned away because there wasn't the room for them to swim. Very disappointing, there should be more pools in my opinion. But aside from that, absolutely adore this place and will be returning for sure!

My husband and I stayed here in our first camper van experience. The site is huge and well looked after. There are lots of toilets, and the shower blocks are good, but the showers are very poorly designed because the shower soaks your clothes!! Nowhere to dress after the shower apart from in the wet cubicle. It would be so much better if there was some sort of 'screen' separating the shower from the dressing area. Although a busy site, it is always clean with plenty of bins etc around. If going with children be prepared to pay out because every activity costs at least £5, which will easily add up over the course of your stay. Maybe look into whether there is some sort of activity deal that the site may offer at a reduced price for staying guests?? Evening entertainment was good, and bravo to the on site entertainers as we enjoyed their show far more than the tribute act the following evening. I genuinely don't understand why we had to vacate our pitch by 10 am, as unlike a static caravan there is nothing to clean up. We could of had a later check out, but would have to have paid even more for the pitch.

Lovely park.Caravans in tree lined Avenues. Very clean here. Fabulous food in the boathouse. Swimming pool quite big. Nice layout all round. Highly recommend. Our caravan nice and clean every thing in it that we needed.

We were surprised that oven shelves were very dirty and greasy and the fridge freezer was all iced up. Something wrong with it. The pullout bed was stuck so. We couldn't use it. It was reported but no one came. The saucepan lid was broken and there was only one which fitted the saucepan. Dirty marks on walls and carpet. I don't know why I paid extra for the dog as this was clearly not clean. However the park is lovely and amenities very goo. Food great and the staff were so polite and helpful.

I enjoyed my time at Sandford holiday Park. I visited out of season so it wasn't busy at all and a few places were not open like the food trucks. Good facilities however the onsite restaurant needs some improvement. There is only 3 kids meals on the menu with only one being available on the evening I visited. This is a family holiday park so I felt a choice of only 3 kids meals was quite poor.

Firstly I want to get the moan out of the way. The first pitch we were offered was awful. I'm not really sure why we were given that pitch when there were so many lovely empty ones. The pitch was right next to the car barriers , on the corner next to the go karts ,it was muddy and pretty grotty with not much privacy. I have attached pics. We paid £177 for a grass pitch and that definitely didn't have grass.I personally think it should only be offered as a last resort pitch if the camp is full. To be fair we were offered an alternative pitch with no problems and the lady on reception didn't seem surprised we wanted to change. The new pitch was lovely and had grass. Moving on the site itself is really nice and set in a forest setting. There's lots of wildlife like birds and squirrels . For such a big site it was very quiet at night. There's a really good dog walking area and an agility park which was a nice touch. There's loads to do for children. The showers and toilets were very clean considering the size of the site. The shower water took ages to get warm though and you have to press the button every 20 seconds or so which is a pain. We would definitely return if we were holidaying here again.

Excellent holiday park especially if you have kids, lots of different things for them to do inside and outdoors. The entertainment area is very big for evenings, (that's when they don't shove you into the bar when it's quieter) Food and drinks very pricey on site but that's to be expected. The bed in the caravan seemed like it needed replacing you could feel every spring through it, so we didn't get much sleep. Everything else was great.

We had a great time overall staying here for 2 weeks, there were plenty of things to do to entertain kids especially enjoyed the evening entertainment (kids one) and the pottery painting was amazing, good value. Soft play, 2 outdoor play areas, pools. Small but lovely dog walking area with lots of oaks and beautiful trees all around. Didn't really enjoy the food from the restaurant so only ate there the once but that wasn't an issue as we cooked a lot.

Disappointed came with family grandchildren, travel down early in the morning from Nottingham with little ones so they slept in car. Went to restaurant for lunch had nugget chips for kids barbecue chicken baguette for adults food Bearley warm. Rest family came to join us on the Monday as was recommended to them for being good. We all went to the restaurant for breakfast wasn't late as family arrived at 9 in the morning, ordered breakfast for us all and pots of tea after hour got told no sausage left, half out later got told no bacon or tomatoes still no cups to drink out of. Finally got cup's the waitress said they just been washed, they were dirty lipstick still on them. They still wanted to charge full price for everything. In end we got up asked for refund went elsewhere. My daughter caravan dirty not cleaned properly. Two adults 4 kids no bedding for pull out bed went to reception told them to be told it would be there by evening. After being out in entertainment going back to caravan still no bedding no pillows quilts or sheets. Adults slept with non to keep kids warm. Went back to reception to complain again said would resolve it been bk twice still no bedding.. Been back again this morning to be told they only make up the bed's as don't expect people to use the pull out bed how rediculas when booked for 6 people only get bedding for 4 people, ask to speak to managers told none on site still no bedding.. Lots people complaining about caravans not clean properly people who been in them with dog's and dog hair everywhere.. Very disappointed stressful after recommending Park to family having to go through all this ordeal should never happen definitely won't be coming back here or recommend it to family or friends. Even the bar run out of stock.

We stayed in a Lulworth Lodge which was gorgeous, very clean and comfortable with a lovely hot tub and fantastic views. We loved the pigs! However we ate in the restaurant on the Friday night and there were a lot of items not available. We were impressed by the quality of food except the pizzas. We decided to have bfast in the restaurant on the morning we left and again most of the menu not available and service very slow so we left and went somewhere else. No ice in the bar . Children very disappointed in the pool which was small and cold. Overall a nice site and staff friendly but please sort out the restaurant as this is letting you down.

We love this park so have been quite a few times now. Accommodation usually clean and tidy upon arrival. 2 nice pools, outdoor pool is heated so no matter the weather a swim outdoors is perfect! Many improvements made to the park over the last few years. Recommend a stay here with your family

This was our 3rd stay at Sandford and as always the best weekend ever, We were due to stay in a one bedroom caravan but got a complimentary upgrade to a lovely 3 bedroom caravan with en-suite. The caravan was very clean and tidy and so close to the main complex which was brilliant. The entertainment was fantastic as it was celebrity weekend with Rob Beckett and Sophie Ellis Bextor who were brilliant and we really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work Sandford you nail it every time and we will be back again, of all the parkdean places we have stay this is the best
