While in London I got a Premium Hop on Hop Off ticket that included an night bus tour through the city. Our live tour guide, Julia, was absolutely amazing and was much more enjoyable than simply listening to a prerecorded guide! It was a great orientation to the city and highlighted many historic landmarks. We are looking forward to taking one or two of the walking tours tomorrow with Molly! Thank you for a great two hour tour, Julia! You are delightful!

Amazing value for money... made my visit to London much easier to navigate. Managed to see some incredible sights from the bus and at each stop River Cruise from The Tower of London to Westminster is included. Fantastic views of the London Eye and the Tower Bridge. Highly recommended to anyone visiting London for the day.

Perfect way to simplify seeing the main sights in London! We booked online easily the 24 hour tour. So here is how it went and what we did that made it great: Download the app, once they activate the pass from your email you see the buses in real time, there are a lot of them. Makes timing hop ons much easier. There is a free map as well we got on bus that saved the phone batteries when we just wanted the overview. Go to any stop and look for one of their employees. If none are there just show the email to the bus driver. They activate the pass and give you a receipt that acts as your on-board pass. Keep that handy! On the bus are free headsets to listen to tour audio. We didn't do that but it's in several languages and plugs in at the seat. One bus just played the audio over the speaker which was fine as well. Bus will move before everyone is seated so hold the handrails at all times! We did the red line that hit all the major points like Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace. We got off the bus at 16, walked through the park and took iconic photos of Tower Bridge. Then we got great fish & chips from a local restaurant. It's a short walk across bridge and worth it for more views and photos. Once across follow road around to 17. On other side of Bridge you will see all you need for a window tour of Tower of London. Watch the app and time the next bus to hop on! We got off the bus at 23, walked through St James Park getting the Buckingham Palace pics then across to 1 and back on bus. We got off the bus on 6 to walk down the high end shopping district, and stopped in Hamleys Toy Store, 5 levels of cool and bathroom, pizza and ice cream on top floor. Got back on at 8. We got back off the bus at 9, hit the Leo, Monet, Van Gogh masterpieces in the National Gallery then back on bus. You will get exquisite views of Big Ben from the bus at several angles a few times so stay on bus where the red line comes near. We never waited more than 10 min, and usually just jumped right on because we used the live tracking app to time our stops. Don't be grumpy, smile, thank the drivers, enjoy the day. Great supplement to saving walking time. It was well worth the money for us!

The workers were friendly in the beginning when encouraging you to buy their tickets! And at the end of the shift the staff show their true nature which is impatient, aggressiveness! I truly wont recommend these "tour buses" for families or Groups! Queues are not organized, the busses themselves are filthy and the staff leave you on your own once you purchase your tickets ! Chaotic !

The bus tour is great, 3 star is more for a comparative analysis. On busy weekends there is struggle to find a spot to sit on the upper deck. Equally the connectivity between red and green line is not good. There should be display to indicate which station is next, especially when the bus is on diversion. Don't get the review wrong, the bus services are all good just seems to be not upgrading with time now. It's same from when I did this tour 5 years ago as well.

We purchased the 72 hour premium tickets. The busses were a great way to see all the sites in London. It was also a convenient way to get around. We loved the flexibility of getting on/off at any stop. The audio guide was very informative and gave a lot of information. As part of our ticket, we also had the river cruise. It was great! Seeing London from the river is a great experience. Again, the audio guide was a nice addition giving facts, anecdotes, and history. All the drivers and employees we dealt with were helpful, friendly, and made everything easy. There was a night bus tour included with our ticket, but unfortunately we didn't get to do that. I was excited to see London at night, but I was so cold that I decided to stay indoors! I definitely this company - great value!

Great way to see London. Make sure you take some plug in head phones so you can hear the recorded tour guide

My family and I loved Big Bus London tours! It was great getting to each spot we wanted to see. We did several walking tours with Julia and she was amazing!! I can't say enough how wonderful she was. She was informative, funny and tons of fun. She made sure we had the best spot for Changing of the Guards, you would think we were family she treated us so well. Much better than listening to a recording, keeps the kids attention more and the adults. Definitely ask for Julia if you go. She really got the kids into it as well. I would take the tours again with her when we visit again. Definitely glad myself, husband and two teens did it. Thank you Julia!!

Not bad. You spend most of your time stopped sitting on the bus with all the traffic. The audio guide is pretty terrible. They’ve tried to make it fun instead of interesting information. Why not just share about what you are seeing, no need to add commentary that’s is arbitrary.

My family and I went to London for the first time! We decided to get a Classic 24 hour ticket for the three of us and our expectations were exceeded. The buses are clean with an open roof, the staff is very kind and energetic. Also everything needed is included in the package... we got to experience an amazing tour guide as well as a boat ride. The tour guys have a very good sense of humor (especially Julia). You get to see a lot of notable locations even a tour in the London Mithraeum. Overall our experience was amazing and we strongly recommend getting a tour if you are visiting. Thank you for giving us such a pleasant experience!

We were on a timely schedule and took the blue line. It started good. After we hopped off and wanted yo continue the blue line further that day. We were surprised that they brought us the starting station and told us that we have to ride with them for three stations and then switch to the red line in order to see the other blue line destinations( west side). We had no time to do as suggested so we had to leave the bus. Really unprofessional! Would not book again.

NOPES. there r other options in London and I would ask everyone to go for those. Waited for them for 45 min. Saw all the other companies' buses except big bus (they say one bus every 15 min). Anyhow, one bus came and the driver told us it was not in service. So more wait. He took us to a new stop and we got a bus there. But waste of almost one hour.

Had a great trip exploring the city. The bus stops at all the attractions you want to see. Easy to hop on hop off. My only complaint would be it can be extremely hot on a hot day since there's no ac on the bus and if you can't get a seat up top it can be sweltering inside.

Overall our expectations were met. Bus was clean, reasonably comfortable. Didn't have to wait long for one or more to come along. Would prefer a more straight forward narration of the prerecorded audio tour. Their attempt at comedy and characters from the past were more distracting than helpful.

Use of evening tours only due to flight delays, however, absolutely loved our tour. Chris was our tour guide he as such a delight, we enjoyed history, fun facts and jokes. He informed us of upcoming photo ops which allowed for amazing photos. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back again to London.

This is a great way to see the city if you have limited time (and to get your bearings if you’ve never been here). You see all of the major sites and have a chance to learn a little bit about them on the way. The audio guide is cheeky!

Spent the weekend in London after a work trip. With the Essentials ticket, best value, I was able to see most everything. The walking tours took us to places you won't see wondering the streets alone and the guides had great information. The guide Big Steve made the whole thing worth it. The 2 hours with him was the most entertaining and informative thing about the Big Bus Tours. When you book with the Big Bus Tours make sure you get Big Steve as a guide.

Must experience any hop on hip off bus tour! We absolutely loved this. There is so much architecture and engineering to see in London!

The best way to explore London. Excellent service. Frequent buses & friendly drivers. You can take 24 hours which you can use over 2 days or buy a bit extra for 48 or 72 hours. Worth to take the river cruise which will give you a very enjoyably river cruise.

5 stars for Julia! She is very knowledgeable and she knows all of the secret spots for the Changing of the Guard walking tour. She kept it real and told us what parts were worth it and which ones were not. We got some amazing pictures from the experience. I'd give the actual bus tour 3 stars. Yes, it helps you see all of the sights in a short amount of time but the recorded commentary gets old. When you get stuck in traffic you sit there hearing the same music over and over again.

Did the red route as part of a 4 day visit. Great way to see many landmarks for the first time visitor. Commentary didn't always work but still very enjoyable.

It's okay. The audio guide is inconsistent, seems like it's up to the driver. We had one that would time and point out everything and another one that would only play it on the main attractions. The ticket included a cruise tour, which we used and it was great, even for our family members that get motion sickness it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend as you get great views and photos. For the cruise go in the early evening when the tide is higher and you get a higher and better view of everything

Awesome riding around London seeing the sights. Biggest surprise was river cruise...guys on boat amazingly funny and knowledgeable

Very disappointed spending all that money to sit in traffic before starting at point 1 to go back on ourselves and taking an hour to get to 5 stops. It says your meant to do the whole loop in 2 hours. We got back on to make our away to the pier for the boat ride. I took half an hour to get to the next stop so would have missed the last boat which finished very early. The bus was so busy that we couldn't sit down or see out a window or listen to the audio(the whole point of going on) Complete waste of time and money!

Tickets premium 48h : not worth the price. Most of the time the app worked badly or not at all especially on the west of london (no time track available) were there are not a lot of buses available. We ended up using the bus only one time and the boat one time too. Less expensive by subway or regular bus (7.40 a day for zone 1-2). Disappointed.

We booked the London Evening Tour but when we arrived to board the top deck was completely full which was disappointing. Then Winston (I hope we caught your name right!) kindly offered to run another bus for us and a few other groups so we could enjoy the tour from the top deck sat all together, even though it was the end of his shift. We can thank our driver enough for making sure we had a great tour and comfortable experience.

The directions on the audio track need to tell you where about/which side in the journey the landmark is on and how to spot it. It was unfortunate that we had to go on a big detour due to extinction rebellion happening when we were there. I think there should have been more information and longer talking sections.

Load of rubbish, had my tour yesterday, started off good dropped off at Buckingham palace had a look round then got back on and took me straight back to the place I got on. Then to be told couldn't go where I wanted to go because of road closes.tour guild was very unhelpful, spoilt my day.and cant even get a refund load of rubbish. Will use another company next time

Loved it. The buses were all on time and the drivers were extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to visit most of the tourist attractions in london. The commentary during the travel on the bus was great and not boring like the other commentaries. Will definitely recommend for first time visitors.

We had a great time yesterday evening. It was the end of the day shift and beginning of the night shift. We were the last two riders on our bus back from the London Eye. We had the privilege of meeting “Big Steve”. He was “Smashing” and a great tour guide. He went way out of his way to entertain us and tell us all about the sites along our route. Even took some extra time at the end of our trip to recommend some local restaurants and pubs to try afterwards. He made the day.

Only one star for this. The price is worth it, but only if you have a bus that has the speakers/ear Jack's working. Had to multiple seats to ensure i had a jacket that didn't crackle. The facts were interesting, but the sarcasm and comedy wasn't needed on the recording. The Golden Tours drove past and they had a live commentary which put a damper on this purchase. Would recommend other bus tours rather than this one, due to staff attitude, poor maintenance on ear Jack's and due to other bus services doing better.

  • 3/5 Pizza C. 2 years ago on Google
Quite slow, can be some wait sometimes then literally two buses come at once and the front will be crowed and the second might not stop. Sometimes the driver forgets to update where we are so there is just music playing instead of the audio commentary. Top of the bus was nice will good views. If you want the full tour give your selves 2.5 hours not including stops. You can get a Wowcher coupon for the same price but two full days

I booked the night tour online with a 10% discount but when I got to the stand (#21 Victoria stand opposite Vagabond Restaurant towards Buckingham Palace RD) found that the night tour was cancelled…got on the normal day tour which was a hop on hop off and had an amazing 2 hour ride! Well worth the ride all the main sites were seen in central London plus the narration helps. If you sit on the top with open roof ensure you take a coat or shawl as it can get cold depending on weather. Really enjoyable and fantastic way of getting around London with the bonus of seeing famous sites. Well worth the money and booking online is essential for discount and ticket.

👍👍 The tour was amazing! First stop was Stone Henge and it was a sight to behold. It gave me chills to be standing in front of the mysterious man-made structure. Next was Bath.
