It's a joke that we honour this monster with a statue at Parliament. Regardless of his achievements in disbanding feudalism and empowering democracy, he was a prejudiced, barbaric, crazed ethnic cleanser.

Oliver Cromwell was a monster who is responsible for the mass murder of thousands of Irishmen and Catholics in his religious and ethnic cleansing of England and Ireland. He is not someone for Britain to be proud of.

We had so much fun on this return trip to Greenwich from Westminster. The guide was hilarious and well worth tipping afterwards. We had lovely clear skies so went on top deck, lots of room (we did this at the end of January), but on the return journey we wen inside and honestly the views are every bit as good. Bar was good and reasonable prices. Everything amazingly efficient and clean. We could have got off at Greenwich and had an hour there before coming back on another boat but chose to remain and do the journey back pretty much immediately. All took two hours in total. Perfect way to spend the afternoon. Highly recommended. I am impressed how inexpensive the tickets were too!

I booked this tour for the first day of my trip to London and it was fabulous. I always wait a week or so before arrival to book to make sure the weather is good - and it was!! The crew (both coming and going from/to Westminster were fabulous. I would suggest you have some English coins to tip them when you get off. I did not have and I regret it because they were terrific. Doing this river cruise on the early days of your trip is helpful in getting your bearings and helps you to decide what attractions you want to explore in more depth and which ones are fine from the boat (e.g., the London Eye was perfect for me from the boat!).

Those saying the statue should be in a more prominent place probably aren’t too concerned about the secretarian genocide he was responsible for in Ireland, the statue commentating this puritan religious zealot despot would have been vandalised if it wasn’t situated behind the security perimeter of Westminster palace.

It’s a good statue. But the man himself was a very mixed blessing. On the plus side, he (temporarily) ended feudalism and (permanently) took the power to govern from a capricious line of inbred despots and handed power to government. On the minus side he handed the power to the government. Which was made up of slightly lower level of inbred feudal despotic aristocrats and landowners. This “democracy” could only be voted for by lords and gentry. So big deal! The ordinary workers got nothing apart from separated into two warring factions and set on each other, so that a small group of self interested inherited wealthy ratbags could hold all the power and profit from it......... Just like Brexit in fact. Oh and he also banned celebrating Christmas, singing and happiness and murdered a load of Irish too.

Boarded at Westminster Pier, as this is where the boat was empty, so more seating options. Reasonably priced at around £40 for a family ticket return to Tower Bridge, using 1/3rd off with our underground day travel cards. The live commentary was definitely the highlight, as the guide was both amusing and informative and talked all the way from Westminster to Tower Bridge, where we disembarked. Food options are limited on board, but incredibly reasonably priced. Toilets on the boat were spotless. The wait to board was around 10 minutes, and then actually leave Westminster once on the boat was another 25 minutes, which wasn't great with the kids in the hot sun. Fortunately, other stops en route didn't take as long. One poor man on the boat had what smelled like beer thrown on him from Tower Bridge above as we passed underneath (not the tour company's fault). I guess that's a hazard of sitting on the upper deck nowadays... Overall, very impressed and we'd definitely do this again.

(Translated by Google) Oliver Cromwell (Huntingdon, April 25, 1599 - London, September 3, 1658) English warlord and statesman. He played a significant role in shaping England into a Commonwealth. During the English Civil War, he was one of the commanders of an army of fanatical Puritans, the ironside, who defeated the Royalists. After the execution of King Charles I of England in 1649, Cromwell's will prevailed in the short-lived English Republic. He enslaved Scotland and Ireland, then was controlled by the Commonwealth as Lord Protector from 1653 to 1658. Cromwell Oliver was buried at Westminster Abbey, but was reignited by royalists who returned to power in 1660, dug up his body and hung it with chains and then beheaded it. His head hung for 20 years until 1685, hanging on a pole in front of Westminster Abbey, the embalmed and mummified skull was subsequently sold and taken several times and buried at Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge in 1960. (Without Oliver Cromwell, the powers of Parliament were incapable of to win the English Civil War and thereby establish the foundations of modern democracy, which greatly influenced the French and American movements. Oliver Cromwell's military reforms (New Model Army) also made it possible for the English Army to become the world's elite army for centuries to come. His famous saying is, "Trust in God, but keep the gunpowder dry." "The need knows no law." "Not just hit the iron while it's hot, but make yourself hot with your punches." Feje 20 évig 1685-ig, lógott a Westminster Apátság előtti póznán, a bebalzsamozott és mumifikálódott koponyát ezután többször adták-vették, majd 1960-ban a cambridge-i Sidney Sussex College-ban temették el.[Cromwell Olivér nélkül a parlament erői képtelenek lettek volna megnyerni az Angol Polgárháborút, és ezzel megteremteni a modern demokrácia alapelveit, amely nagyban hatott a Francia és az Amerikai mozgalmakra is. Decided to give this boat ride a try today. Overall an average experience. The commentary was a little monotone and the constant stops along the river wasn’t to my liking. I guess if you are a tourist it’s not bad as you get the commentary and learn about London history and significant landmarks. I’ve been around the uk and tried boat rides in wales , Scotland and they are better in my opinion. Food and drink was over priced as expected. Was it worth the money ... hmmm .. nah not really but hey I tried it out 😅

Brilliant experience. Its just so easy to get through even on busy Saturday Afternoon. We booked London eye with cruise trip for 40 odd pounds , reached early to the spot even though there was lots of rush we just get into the line after showing the tickets online and in no time we were in.

Booked two hours cruise around Easter. The cruise starts from Westminster pier and go to Greenwich & back. The commentary on boat is very good. Good humour too. 😊. Reception was warm. There is a bar and small shop at the back. The washrooms are neat and clean. Overall a relaxed cruise experience with some spectacular view of London Canary Wharf and other historical structures. Worth every penny. Only complaint is £2.5 charged for a 330ml of coke 😳Recommended 5*

This is a must do thing in London if you want to see the river and the London skyline. The boat can be picked up at the Westminster Pier the South Bank and Tower Bridge. Tickets can be purchased for a one-way or return journey from Westminster to Greenwich. The Jubilee and District Line stops at Westminster Station and the pier is just across the road or through the underpass. I picked it up from the South Bank near Waterloo Bridge. The price of a ticket is just under £20 for an adult and about £13 for a child. The tour commentary will have you in stitches if you like dry humour. Fabulous tour.

We had a pleasant and enjoyable journey overall, but there was only one hiccup. Our trip was delayed by over an hour, and we received no prior notification or email about it. This lack of communication led to some frustration among the people that was waiting. So, with better communication they would make this a 5-star experience.

We took our niece on the Thames River Sightseeing Cruise from Westminster to Greenwich. It was amazing to see London from a different perspective. We’ve been to London several times and have used the Hop On Hop Off buses, Black Cabs, and have walked through many parts of London, but this was well worth the time and money. The captain was funny and knowledgeable. He narrated as we rode. We were able to take some memorable photos even through the rain.

We had a brilliant time sailing down to Hampton Court with Andrew and the crew! The trip reminded this ex-Londoner (who now calls Sydney home, ) how beautiful the English countryside really is! It was great to see all the sights of the city at the start of the trip but my favourite part was exploring the countryside beyond. Andrew's commentary was entertaining and full of fun facts and there was the perfect balance of speaking and silence to enjoy the ride. There's a bar on board with drinks and snacks. My tips - arrive early for boarding as the boat fills up quickly, bring a jacket or sunscreen (depending on the weather,) catch a boat in the morning if you want to make the most of a visit to Hampton Court and don't forget to tip the crew, they certainly earn it! Oh and eat before you sail or bring some snacks for the ride!

(Translated by Google) Cromwell is one of the most controversial figures in British history. Defeated the Cavalier in the British Civil War, the devout Puritan Cromwell slayed Catholics in Scotland and Ireland, abolished the monarchy in England after the execution of Charles I in 1649, and served in England from 1653 to 1658. -Scotland-Patriarch of the Commonwealth of Ireland. Cromwell died in 1658, and his son succeeded to protect the country. His son was unable to suppress the rebellious aristocracy and officers, and the British politics was chaotic. The parliament declared that it would be restored by the monarchy, and Charles II was able to return to Britain. After the restoration of the dynasty, Charles II ordered the exhumation of Cromwell's body from Westminster's cemetery for Hanged, drawn and quartered corpses: He was first dragged across London, and then sent to the Taiburne execution ground where ordinary prisoners are executed, where they were hoisted. Then he started an intestine and laparotomy and threw it into the fire before the prisoner's eyes. Then he cut off Cromwell's head and picked the head up the spear upstream to show the crowd. Finally, Cromwell's head was nailed to the roof of Westminster Abbey by a long nail. Stay for 25 years. Later, it was blown down by a storm and left to the people. It became a private collection and was used as an antique tour exhibition. Guests can take turns lining up to hold the skull by the window. One can see the "trace of the axe" left by the executioner in the back of his brain. It wasn't until 1960 that Cromwell's skull left the touring exhibition. Cromwell's alma mater Cambridge University Tin Deny Sussex College recovered and was buried next to a chapel in Oxford. A wandering soul finally has a place to live. Cromwell ranked 10th out of the 100 most voted British people launched by the BBC in 2002. I loved this trip so much! It didn’t take long to wait in the queue to get on board, but I would recommend purchasing your tickets in advance to make the trip easier. The views were amazing even though the wether wasn’t perfect. Excellent commentary on the way, very funny and educational. I went on this trip as part of my birthday celebration, which was a perfect choice! Overall an amazing visit that I will always remember for my 17th. Would totally recommend for an amazing day out! There is food available on the boat and the cleanliness of the whole thing was immaculate. I will be recommending this trip to all my friends and family.

My cousin and I took a trip from Embankment to Greenwich. Return Greenwich to Westminster. Very cheerful, entertaining commentary. Thoroughly recommend this trip. The commentary is humorous and informative. Note there is a senior price of £9.40 return trip. Really good value for money. Greenwich is a great place. The National Maritime Museum is such a great place to visit and free to view. Walk to the top of the hill to see the amazing view across to Canary Wharf and London skyline. You can visit the wonderful Observatory at the top of the hill too. The Cutty Sark stands on the dock at Greenwich.

The cruise itself was lovely as was the commentry. However, (3 adults and 2 children) we bought tickets from the Festival stop to the Thames Barrier at 12.35pm. When we reached Greenwich we we were told to come back at 3.30pm for the Thames Barrier cruise. When we returned at 3.15pm we were told the last boat for the barrier was at 1pm and directed to the ticket box.. who couldn't do anything but tell us to go back to Westminster.. and at Westminster no one was willing to help and told us to come back earlier tomorrow, something we can't do. We gave generous tips to our commentary guides.. but overall feel ripped off as we were encouraged to buy tickets to the barrier by staff at festival stop who didn't seem to know boat times as neither did the crew on board.

This statue of Oliver Cromwell stands outside the House of Commons. You can't really get too close without getting through the gates, but you can see enough through the gates anyway. The statue was sculpted by Hamo Thornycroft, and depicts Oliver Cromwell standing holding a sword in his right hand with the point of the sword resting on the ground. In his left hand, he is holding a copy of the bible. The statue stands on top of a pedestal with a lion rest at the foot. Nice statue and definitely worth a look.

This statue is inside the grounds of Parliament so it's not possible to get very near it. The statue was designed by Hamo Thornycroft and erected in 1899 and has divided opinion since due to Cromwell's opposition to Royalty. He also stands accused by some of war crimes, religious persecution and ethnic cleansing on a dramatic scale against Catholics in Ireland. However, his bronze statue with the lion beneath is definitely worth a visit.

Oliver Cromwell was Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland between 1653 and 1658. The statue was designed by Hamo Thornycroft and erected in 1899. It has divided opinion, both before its erection and since, due to Cromwell's opposition to the British monarchy and his role in the conquest of Ireland. A great view of London from the river but the experience was spoiled by the man giving the commentary. Although he pointed out a few interesting, lesser known places and provided some historical detail, his overall style was one of cynacism and negativity - moaning on about London being ruined by property developers. Unfortunately we had to listen to him twice, both to and from Greenwich. No tip in the silver bucket from us. We would have paid him to keep quiet.

If the weather is nice, there are few better ways to see the sights. The boat was comfortable, and the guide was humorous and enjoyable. The only nitpick is a lot of the guide's factoids were unsubstantiated legends. It made for interesting listening, but only 1 of the 4 we fact checked turned out to be true. Unfortunately not recommended in cold, rainy weather (almost always in London)! All panes tarnished on the inside. Visibility = zero!

We enjoyed using this boat connection and it fit perfectly into our daily routine. However, the published timetable was more of a guide, well, we only had to wait a maximum of 20 minutes and then everything was great. Nice staff, nice anecdotes from the captain on the journey east - it was fun. All in all, solid and a very nice way to experience the vibrant city from an unusual side in very quiet surroundings. Price performance was very good here - compared to the others!

What a great way to see some of the sights of London. I have to say however the commentary was the absolute best part.

My mum and I had a wonderful experience onboard the cruise. The crew were friendly and helpful and took extra care to ensure my mum (who has limited mobility) got up and down the cruise safely. They were also excellent tour guides who entertained everyone onboard with their hilarious (but factual) commentary. Overall, it was an awesome experience and I will be sure to recommend it to anyone who wants to sightsee while in London.

Return trip was really good value. Lovely trip with option of open air or indoor areas weather depending. The crew member that was giving up the history and knowledge of surroundings whilst travelling was absolutely outstanding. I'd highly recommend the trip xx

Thames River Sightseeing (TRS). If you come to London and look around some tourist areas near Big Ben and the monument to the RAF. You can complement your trip by sailing around on the Thames River in a comfortable and full of the glass windows on the big boat. What they offer is seeing London City from the Thames river and having a different perspective compared to drive a car or riding a tour bus. I took the longest route from Westminster to Greenwich cruise takes approximately 1 hour, while a return cruise takes 2 hours in total. But you can take another shorter route if you like. It's a unique and interesting experience.

(Translated by Google) The visit by boat on the Thames is not bad. The boat is warm and especially if the day is rainy and cold, thank you. You can see westminster, London Eye, Greenwich (Meridian of), The London Bridge, the City of London, etc. Do not expect to find much in the meridian, obviously not seen. If you go with a long time you can go stopping and catching a boat 40 minutes later with what you see all these places with tranquility. Recommendable. I recommend it to avoid transportation to these sites. Good means of transport in your tourism. If you do not go with much time you can see everything from afar, on the boat, but it is not the same.

Internet information on times is not helpful at all. Service only runs in the morning to kew Bridge. You have to have one card for each person and the staff just assume that you are familiar with the service, as visitors to london, not everyone knows and the dictatorial lady that spoke to us at London Bridge on July 12th 2019 was very rude and ordered us all about like animals, we shall not use this service again.

You book a ticket for 3pm, show up at 2.30pm so you’re there nice and early. They board the boat and you watch it leave at 2.45 without you on it “because it’s full” even though you can see plenty of seats open on it. And the friendly lady who represents the company tells you she’s sorry, she doesn’t know why they book times because they just put on as many people as they can who are here and that’s the way it is. What kind of way is that to run a business?!

Really enjoyed our boat ride to Greenwich, fantastic value-£18.50 for a 2 hour round trip taking in all the sights then free time to explore Greenwich. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice Greenwich is to walk around and how much there is to see up there, especially the park and maritime museum. The guide on the boat was also very good- engaging and interesting information about all the sights we were passing, including more obscure facts. You also have a choice of sitting indoors or out on the deck.

Westminster to Greenwich. Was going well but then the boat broke. Had to get off and stand on St Katherine’s Dock for 30 minutes for the next one. A lot of confusion, no real queuing system and people are a bit grumpy. Things happen but when you have a schedule it’s a bit frustrating. The crew were lovely and gave a hilarious commentary but can’t recommend it on this experience.

The cruise itself is interesting because it passes key places. Unfortunately for us our departure time was canceled and we did not receive an email informing us in advance. So we had to take the next boat and wait in the cold for over an hour.
