The most high tech digital screen in Europe. This 24/7 round the clock nonstop billboard was turned off and went dark only few sad occasions since its installation in 1908. WW2, Winston Churchill and Princess Diana's funerals and for the recent upgrade when it was replaced with a single high resolution screen greater than 4K. It has evolved from simple light bulbs to neon lights, digital projectors, LED and now its not only weather sensitive but capable of showing live streams in real time. And for big brother purposes, in future it might also show vehicle recognition technology, moving traffic with your ugly mug inside.

I love this bustling centre of London. A great place to sit and watch the tourists, sights and sounds and many of London's iconic red buses plus an easy walk to many of London's greatest theatres. A quick but must do walk through on any tour of London.

Piccadilly lights is a beautiful landmark which is bright colourful and nice to see. The closest underground station is Piccadilly Circus with a number of bus routes which stop close by. A nice sight especially at night when it's bright and lit up.

Great place buzzing with people. Visit on a Friday evening for a great vibe; people partying and having fun. Lots to do and enjoy here. Great restaurants around. And of course the views are amazing.

If London had a spot like Times Square, Piccadilly Circus would probably be it! But despite being such a large square, it nonetheless feels claustrophobic without any hint of vastness of a global city plaza possibly because it's not fully pedestrianized.

Lots of street dancers and musicians. A real good vibe in the summertime ☀️☀️🎶🎷 Lots of big shops nearby with Regent Street finishing at Piccadilly Circus and also a short walk from here in Soho or Leicester Square. It is surrounded by several notable buildings, including the London Pavilion and Criterion Theatre. Underneath the plaza is Piccadilly Circus Underground station, part of the London Underground system. It is similar to New York City's Times Square. But one sadder point to take note of is that there are many pickpockets here because it is so crowded. Be careful with your belongings -keep them safe! (backpack/handbags keep close to you) and you'll have a great time here.

A visit during the day will not leave as strong an impression on you as at night, but it is definitely worth stopping by this iconic square.

I may well be in a class of my own but I find the Piccadilly lights lack imagination & taste for such an iconic location. Its just like looking at a large iphone. Flat, sterile, globalised ads and images. You could be in any capital city in any country. The former neon signs were warmer and gave off an authentic West End mood which is now sadly absent.

Piccadilly Circus reminded us of Times Square in New York. The neon signs are particularly effective in the dark. In the middle of Piccadilly Circus is the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain. At its top there is a figure of a naked winged archer. Therefore the fountain is also known as the Eros Fountain. The figure is not intended to represent Eros, but rather the angel of Christian charity. There are many shops on Piccadilly such as Burberry, H&M, GAP, Levi's, Hollister, Apple, KIKO Milano, Nike, Zara and many more. The former music hall "London Pavilion" is the most striking building. The old building stands out particularly well amidst the modern neon billboards. The name “Piccadilly Circus” has nothing to do with clowns and artists. In architectural terms, circus means a round, public area located at a street intersection.

A must visit place in London. Somewhere to hand around and enjoy the Lights ot just watch people come and go. A mixture of visitors and workers in the many companies located around this area. Good old cupid is THE place to arrange to meet your friends before a stroll down Regent's Street.

Piccadilly Circus is a road junction and public space of London's West End in the City of Westminster. It was built in 1819 to connect Regent Street with Piccadilly. In this context, a circus, from the Latin word meaning "circle", is a round open space at a street junction.Piccadilly now links directly to the theatres on Shaftesbury Avenue, as well as the Haymarket, Coventry Street (onwards to Leicester Square) and Glasshouse Street. The Circus is close to major shopping and entertainment areas in the West End. Its status as a major traffic junction has made Piccadilly Circus a busy meeting place and a tourist attraction in its own right. The Circus is particularly known for its video display and neon signs mounted on the corner building on the northern side, as well as the Shaftesbury memorial fountain and statue, which is popularly, though mistakenly, believed to be of Eros. It is surrounded by several notable buildings, including the London Pavilion and Criterion Theatre. Directly underneath the plaza is Piccadilly Circus Underground station, part of the London Underground system.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful place in one of London's most central spots. The evening looks even more beautiful with the lights from the shops and the big screens. One can start there by going down Leicester Square and then passing Chinatown and Soho. Several Street artists add a beautiful note. Popular and busy place! Very crowded but stressful and very busy. That describes the place quite well. If you want to take beautiful pictures, you should just go there as early as possible and enjoy the place. Apart from a few Londoners who go to work, drive or clean the place, there are fewer or no tourists here. It's always amazing how London has changed in 6 years. I still know the billboard as normal posters 😅

1992 Piccadilly Circus connects to Piccadilly, a thoroughfare whose name first appeared in 1626 as Piccadilly Hall, named after a house belonging to one Robert Baker, a tailor famous for selling piccadills, or piccadillies, a term used for various kinds of collars. The street was known as Portugal Street in 1692 in honour of Catherine of Braganza, the queen consort of King Charles II but was known as Piccadilly by 1743. Piccadilly Circus was created in 1819, at the junction with Regent Street, which was then being built under the planning of John Nash on the site of a house and garden belonging to a Lady Hutton; the intersection was then known as Regent Circus South (just as Oxford Circus was known as Regent Circus North) and it did not begin to be known as Piccadilly Circus until the mid 1880s, with the rebuilding of the Regent Street Quadrant and the construction of Shaftesbury Avenue. In the same period the circus lost its circular form.

Nice squre that is famous for being in many movies and shows. The main attraction is the big billboard, but the idea for a good time should come from the Street artists that will probably be around the square. On the surroundings you also have some good restaurants and a lot of shopping to do (if you enjoy it, of course). It can be nice to check it out if you have some time, and also because you have other cool/ touristic spots near, such as chinatown and Buckingham.

Piccadilly Circus, with its famous Piccadilly Light, is a true jewel of London! The constant bustle, iconic neon signs and electrifying atmosphere make it a must-visit place. Whether admiring the sparkling neon lights, shopping in the surrounding boutiques or simply soaking up the energy of this iconic square, Piccadilly Circus is sure to enchant you. However, it should be noted that despite its popularity, this place can sometimes be frequented by pickpockets, so it is important to remain vigilant and take safety precautions during your visit. But don't let that discourage you: Piccadilly Circus remains an unforgettable experience to discover in London!

A must visit place right in the center of London. It's even more beautiful at night as you can see the lights from the street and the billboard. But as this place is too touristy, it was too crowded and a lot of rubbish everywhere

Iconic billboard in the center of London. But in these days, honestly I've ever seen much bigger ones and 3D ones in many other countries. I know it was brilliant in the past, but it was still 2D ads in 2022. I felt its retrospective. Anyway I stayed around there and had a wonderful time with my girlfriend. It was memorable place for us.

(Translated by Google) The perennial lights of the Piccadilly Circus billboards are now an indispensable London landmark. They attract swarms of tourists dazzled by those bright screens, which have risen to world fame thanks to appearances in films and documentaries. Even the undersigned has suffered and suffers the charm of the square and the screens, especially as a "lighthouse" and a meeting place for young and old alike, attracted by the glare of those lights.

London trip is incomplete without viewing this place. When you plan your trip to London, make sure to keep at least 30 minutes for this place as it is as famous as NY's Times Square. It is a very crowded place so keep yourself alert all the time. Lots of attractions on walking distance from here so if you are using London underground then take off at piccadilly station to start your London trip. It is also very accessible by buses fron many parts of the city
