In a square filled with many sculpted tributes to the greatest of us, Churchill (despite his flaws) stands among his equals. We visited on a cold spring evening to pay respects to this modern-day Lion of England, his visage brooding over Parliament, reminding its denizens that courage is never outdated.

This famous and imposing bronze statue of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill is placed in the exact spot that Churchill identified in the 1950s as "where my statue will go". His pose is based on a well-known photograph of Churchill inspecting the Chamber of the House of Commons after it had been destroyed by bombing on the night of 10th May 1941. Following his death in 1965 the statue was unveiled in 1973 by his widow Clementine at a ceremony attended by the serving Prime Minister, four former Prime Ministers and Queen Elizabeth II. If you found my review or photos interesting please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thank you!

Great statue of Churchill looking directly at the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Seems to be popular target every time there is protest in London but I don’t think Churchill would mind at all and probably be glad folks have the freedoms to deface statues and express opinions.

The statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square, London, is a bronze sculpture of the former British prime minister Winston Churchill, created by Ivor Roberts-Jones. It is located on a spot referred to in the 1950s by Churchill as "where my statue will go". It was unveiled in 1973 by his widow Clementine, Baroness Spencer-Churchill, at a ceremony attended by the serving Prime Minister and four former Prime Ministers, while Queen Elizabeth II gave a speech.

This little British park has a light of history. If you’re in the neighbourhood this is definitely a stop by! So much history here! My favourite is the statue of Nelson Mandela! He’s very popular in South Africa! This post touches my heart extremely beautiful clean quiet park. Excellent location to take the family on the weekends!

The statue of the former Prime Minister of The United Kingdom, famously during the World War II time. He is the symbol of the British courage, determination, and heroism to stand up for freedom in the wartime. Simply one of the 20th century's most significant figures. Located just near the Parliament Square Garden in Westminster area. Nice place to stop by in London.

One of the most impressive statues in this small park. It was on my must see list in London and it did not disappoint. If you are looking for a nice stroll and want to see some of the sights this perfect if you are going to Big Ben or Westminster Abbey.

Five stars because of who he was and what he did for our country. Some other great people immortalised by statues are to be seen around the square.

One of the great Britons of his generation if not in history, a statue to the great Winston Churchill can be found in Parliament Square, facing the Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben). The bronze statue, created by Ivor Roberts-Jones in 1973 is of a stern looking Churchill in a war coat, immortalising the man as the WWII figure that many know and best remember him. The Churchill statue was unveiled by Lady Churchill, while Queen Elizabeth II attended and gave speech at the event. At the Parliament Square, you can find seven other important Statesman, mostly British Prime Ministers and the well noted US President Abraham Lincoln and South African President Nelson Mandela. You can easily stop by the Parliament Square to see the Churchill Statues before or after visiting the Westminster attractions in the area.

How can you not stop and remember such an iconic statesman. Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill 1874–1965 was a British statesman, soldier, and writer who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Apart from two years between 1922 and 1924, he was a Member of Parliament from 1900 to 1964.

Standing adjacent to the Houses of Parliament, Churchill embodies the values of pride, bravery, and unrelenting hard work that should be present in Parliament today. Winston Churchill, despite dividing opinions, is one of the main ideas of what it is to be British and deserves no better spot than to be here. The statue is fantastic and incredibly well looked after.

History, Sir Winston Churchill Statue Is an iconic bronze statue of Britain's wartime leader, standing proudly in Parliament Square, overlooking the Houses of Parliament. A fitting tribute to a great man in difficult times.

A great tribute to a great leader. A lot of whiners in the reviews but I doubt they know much history and meaning of what this man did. He was a hard man in hard times. History is not there for you to enjoy but to be remembered.

Great place for tourists to visit as tuenvirws of parliament from here are great. On Tue down side they now stop people from congregating in groups as they are aroding our freedom to protest outside parliament

This was an outstanding Winston Churchill statue; of all the Winston Churchill statues I've seen this the best. In reality, there is a lot of plinth, but the statue makes up for it. You are never in any doubt that this is a statue of Winston Churchill - and in a great location. What more can I say?

My most preferred statue commemoration of them all in London probably. ( Untill we get one finally of Her Majesty the Queen soon hopefully. Our late much missed Monarch. ) Churchill passed in 1965, the year I was born. Great Wartime leader of Britain, through all of the War years. Originator of the then new specialist secret intelligence service for Europe, the SOE. Mission given them by him was to 'Set Europe Ablaze.' Father of the Special Operations Executive. British version of the American OSS. We shall go onto the end. Whatever the cost may be. We shall never surrender. Winston Spencer Churchill
