The Gherkin, otherwise known as 30 St Mary Axe, is one of the capital's most famous buildings. It's a feature of the London skyline and home to offices, a restaurant and a cocktail bar. Very interesting design of buildings, not the only one in this area. The Gherkin is 180 metres (591 ft) tall. Towering 41 floors above the City of London, The Gherkin looks magnificent at any time of the day, but it’s particularly dazzling when lit up at night. Not far away from Sky garden, recommend to visit and enjoy the area. The Gherkin isn’t normally open to the public but you can visit Helix restaurant and Iris bar, which are located on the top floors and have amazing panoramic views across the City of London.

Photographed a wedding here last weekend and have nothing but great things to say about the venue and staff. The wedding coordinator was so helpful with collaborating with me on the day. Overall a great experience and would love to go back soon.

During my recent visit to London, I had the opportunity to see the Gherkin building in person, and I must say, it was an extraordinary and unique experience. The building is nothing short of iconic, and it's easy to see why it's become such an iconic part of London's skyline. From the moment I saw the Gherkin from a distance, I was struck by its sleek, modern design and unique shape. As I got closer, I was able to appreciate the intricate details of the building's exterior, from the curved glass panels to the intricate steel framework. Once inside, I was able to appreciate the building's impressive engineering and design, from the soaring atrium to the stunning views from the top floors. The building truly is a marvel of modern architecture, and I couldn't help but take several photographs to capture its beauty. But the Gherkin isn't just an impressive feat of engineering - it's also a testament to London's unique blend of history and modernity. The building stands in the heart of the city, surrounded by centuries-old architecture, yet it feels completely at home in its surroundings. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Gherkin to anyone visiting London. The building is a true masterpiece of modern architecture, and it's sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who sees it.

Iconic London skyscraper, but getting in is a mission. Get your ID ready!! Inside is slightly confusing given the space for offices. The meeting area is lovely with views, then it feels like you go around the building for the toilet which is inside of the Gherkin. I particularly like the area built in where you see old and new.

The view was spectacular, the food was wonderful. The service was great until it became busy. We didn't get refills on our tea or water, our waiter was nowhere to be found. This was our first tea experience and we enjoyed it. This is worth a splurge, you get tea and a gorgeous view. Don't forget to bring a Government issued ID and a few minutes early for security clearance. I knocked off two stars for the additional fees. Service, VAT and Water fee was an additional 90 pounds.

We went for an afternoon tea and everything was superb (apart from the smoked salmon, but that’s just because I am a picky eater!). Staff is absolutely incredible! Excellent service! The place is beautiful, food is great… Lovely hostess allowed us to the top floor for some pictures. I’m already planning my next visit!

The Gherkin in London is an architectural masterpiece that never fails to captivate with its mesmerizing and flashy design. Its sleek and futuristic glass exterior stands as a testament to modern architectural brilliance. The way it reflects and interacts with the changing light of the city skyline is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Great building. The views from the bar on the 40th floor are nice. They were so much better long before all of the new buildings in the area were built. It’s a bit drowned out now 😏 It’s in a great location for travel connections and lots of local bars and night clubs. Make sure you get a reservation for the bar if you want go see the views. Security is airport style! Metal detector arch and big X-ray machine. Very safe

As photographers, we love photographing weddings in this part of London and nowhere is more iconic than the Gherkin to have your wedding reception! Its views of London are unrivaled and the atmosphere after dark when the city is all lit up is stunning. We can’t wait for our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an Iconic central London wedding

A beautiful building with a breathtaking architecture that stopped us while walking through the city. Had a very cheerful decoration for the Christmas.

Very impressive landmark that definitely catches one’s attention. Visited on a Sunday maybe between 10-10:30 am and we were among the very few people who were there in the area. So we were able to take pictures without crowds in the background. We didn’t get up the building tho cause it wasn’t open yet. And just few minutes after we left, there was already a surge of people on the way to take pictures!

One of the earliest soaring skyscrapers in the heart of the City and one which at least has some elegance. Unlike the more recent skyscrapers the Gherkin has no public spaces. There is a restaurant at the very pinnacle but it’s a private affair - a private members club and restaurant that can be hired for private events. Because it’s not possible for services to be above the restaurant you have to ascend an elegant flight of stairs between the penultimate and top floors.

One of the most interesting buildings in London. For modern architecture fans it's a MUST SEE. Really a gem - whenever you come there you always notice sth different, shadows or sun rays flickering :) And all these lovely skyscrapers nearby. You can get here the breath of the CITY.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had here! We came for afternoon tea and, because of the train strike, we had to email them several times to adjust our reservation and they were nothing but accommodating and understanding! Once we finally made it, we had the bottomless Champagne package which came with tiers of scones, tea sandwiches, sweets and also afternoon tea. Everything was absolutely delicious and as we nibbled and sipped, we enjoyed the beautiful construction of the top dome of this beautiful building and the wonderful views of London. In particular, everyone we met here was lovely - especially Kamar and Lucas. They really made sure we had everything we could ever want and were so friendly too! Once we were done with afternoon tea, we discovered we could go up one more floor to another area with a bar where we got a seat looking right out at the tower bridge while we then continued to order delicious and beautiful cocktails and more delicious snacks. We came for afternoon tea but, ended up loving it so much, we spend the whole rest of the day here! Definitely a must do.

Beautiful work of architecture ...however, check-in person at the entrance was offhand and unhelpful, couldn't get into restaurant and she didn't offer any other way of entering the building. So went to Walkie Talkie instead and had a great experience at their restaurant - and it felt higher than the Gherkin ! Good to have options.

Worth for the money. Very polite and professional service. Clean...tasty food and well served. First time in my life I drink proper cocktail and Irish coffee with the exact amount of alcohol ( not water or ice) It's a little bit expensive but worth for the money

One of the amazing structure in London. You can visit the restaurants on top floor of this building to see the view of the city. This building, along with the other neighbouring buildings are the best example of modern and medieval architecture of London.

30 St. Mary Axe or "The Gherkin" as it's famously called, is an extremely different in design, which makes it a great location for phoro shoots. Many tourists come here to get photos captured with the extravagant building. I luckily live near the building and always found it out of the world.

Lovely restaurant and bar on the top floor with amazing view. The food and deserts were very delicious. The staff however were not very friendly and when my friend and I asked for them to take a picture from us they refused to do so because of COVID which didn’t make much sense to us and we had dressed up, we were in a good mood and that wasn’t very nice or professional of them.

We were privileged to have our wedding on the 38th Floor at this delightful building in London. What a venue, special thanks to Amy and Shelley-Ann and Bianca for the support for making our day memorable. I would recommend hiring this venue the views are magnificent and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

I could focus on the bad and give 3 🌟 or on the good and give it 5🌟. So will average it and stick with 4. The good: Amazing location and awesome venue. Decent food and good drink selection. Nice touches around the place and great service especially on an anniversary. The bad: Weird seating, for a place with a view the seats are too far away from the edge so all you see is the last 10 floors of nearby skyscrapers. The food is ok, but just. Great for celebrations

Would NOT recommend!! Went for afternoon tea and totally was not worth the money. Pay all of this money and expect to see the view (which we didn’t) asked for a table near the view (where a table was available) the guy said no. Next, our food came and was like old and dry! The sandwiches absolutely stank I couldn’t eat them, all of this money £55 and can’t offer a fresh sandwich, so smelly of fish! I asked the lady to take them away and she gave no response and raised her eyebrows like she knew of this issue. Thirdly, no option to have no wine and want tea (considering this is afternoon tea) we were not provided with an option. Fourthly, all of this money and you use cheap tea bags (not loose) and only fill the tea pot a third of the way. Had to ask for re-fill of water twice. Was not even given or offered milk with my tea. Fifthly, when my bill came I see they tried to state I paid less for my deposit. (Please check this, imagine how many people this might happen to without checking). What an absolute waste of money, paying for the view they say (didn’t even see it) At least order fresh food , absolutely rotten.

The Gherkin is a stunning building. All the area is a great display of contemporary architecture which mixed to some landmarks from the past centuries and local history makes this area in London one of the nicest to walk by. I find it awesome at night.

This place is so beautiful and scenic, the staff are friendly and accommodating the process to show ID and check in and go through the mental detector was smooth and lovely. However, despite how lovely the hallway looks you can not take pictures there. Apart from this I will definitely revisit and go here on a regular basis.

Stunning 360° view from the very top of the building. Check for events and visit at the top 39th floor. glass dome. The building it self getting shaded by the surrounding new taller buildings in the city.
