Witness for the Prosecution at County Hall is an absolutely amazing show! Based on Agatha Christie's classic courtroom drama, this production is full of suspense, twists, and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The performance was captivating, with a talented cast that brought the characters to life in a way that felt both authentic and engaging. The production itself was also top-notch, with a stunning set design and great use of lighting to create a sense of atmosphere and tension. If you're a fan of mysteries or legal dramas, you will love this show. But even if you're not, I think you'll find yourself drawn in by the compelling story and the fantastic performances. One thing to note is that this show is very popular, so I highly recommend booking in advance to ensure you can get tickets. It's often sold out, so don't wait until the last minute to try and get seats. If you're looking for the best seats, I would suggest C61 or C62 if you're going solo, or D92 to D97 if you're in a group. These seats offer a great view of the stage and the action, and they're situated in a great spot in the theater.

Very good play in a great setting! Drink service could be served in a nicer way (e.g. normal glasses, bigger selection, staying there during the interval). However, the play itself was very good and would definitely recommend.

Wow! This was a fantastic performance! We found the theater with ease and arrived with enough time to purchase some snacks for the show. If you’re late, you’re not getting in until the intermission. The total length was 2 hours and 25 minutes, but it was so good that it only felt like an hour. I won’t spoil what happens, but the main character was exceptional. Once the play ended, you could tell that the entire cast had enjoyed themselves. They were laughing so hard. The show is in County Hall and if you get floor seats, you’ll have a nice, comfortable chair with a place to sit your food and drinks in front of you. There’s balcony seating as well but I think you have to be able to climb narrow stairs to get up there. You’ll be warned prior to purchasing tickets. The bathroom was dated and small. You have to pull a chain in order to flush the toilet. I’d avoid it if possible.

Saw this last night and had an utterly fantastic time. Certainly the most gripping play I've ever seen and was sat on the edge of my seat for a good part of it. Was sat in row A in the gallery and had a good view of the stage. The unique setting really adds to the atmosphere. Despite being an Agatha Christie fan I'd never watched/read Witness for the Prosecution previously, so thoroughly enjoyed getting caught up in the twists and turns of the plot whilst trying to work out whodunit. It was also great seeing the Jury get sworn in by a member of the cast before the production officially started.

Great production, well written, some fantastic performances (and some mediocre ones), but it's the setting that really brings it to life - amazing atmosphere, quite intimate, the main seats in the chamber are superb. There really isn't a bad seat in the main chamber, although I would probably avoid the first couple of rows along the sides of the stage, as you'd be very close to the stage and having to look up the whole time. The Gallery seats looked really quite high up and far away, feels like you'd miss a lot of the ambiance (and they weren't any / very much less expensive than the cheapest seats in the Chamber).

Excellent play!!! Really good settings, with clever and grappling story!!! Our seats were on row E at the Stall, the view was very good and was quite close to the stage. Recommended by a colleague and we (including 2 elderly) enjoyed it so much!!

I took my husband and 18 year old son to see this last night. My son wasn't sure he'd enjoy it, he thought "it would be boring", and he never watches this type of production on the TV, but he really enjoyed it. Actually we all did, my husband said it was the best theatre production he'd seen. The setting was perfect, suited to the production, large comfy seats, decent loos, a bar which was reasonably priced as well. It did get a bit warm in there as it was quite a hot day, but not unbearable. The actors were brilliant and the audience all seemed to have enjoyed the performance. I wish I'd taken my 14 year old but wasn't sure he'd enjoy it so booked it for a time when he was busy elsewhere, but in hindsight I think he would have got into it as well. I would highly recommend this as a very civilised and enjoyable evening out for families with teens. Love the fact that as you leave you are "sworn to secrecy".

Had a wonderful evening with my sister at this play, who got me jury seats as a birthday present. The atmosphere is breathtaking, unique and very special. The seats were incredibly comfortable and the tickets included two drinks tickets, a program and a little booklet, all lovely touches. The cast was outstanding, and I loved the performances of the lawyers in particular, although everyone was brilliant. The play is a typical Agatha Christie who dun it, which I love and is why we went. A thoroughly enjoyable time in a really unique and historical setting. Being on the jury was fantastic too, with fun touches like swearing in, having the lawyers greet you as they come in, and actors often speaking directly to you. You write down the verdict and feel very much part of the performance. My only complaint is that when the show ended, we were immediately being rushed out of the room. My sister has gone to the bathroom and I was asked to carry her stuff out of the room, even though she'd only be a few minutes. Given we were finishing our drinks that came with some expensive tickets, it ruined the vibe a little bit. I wonder if keeping the room open for a simple ten minutes would help, as we definitely weren't the only ones rushed out, and I heard similar complaints. A shame, as the evening was otherwise stellar!

I’ll keep this one short. Seats are very uncomfortable. We could see everyone was squirming around, sitting with their knees on their knees and heard complaints about the seats from others. That’s the bad, now onto the good. The play was wonderfully done, suspenseful and interesting. We were fortunate to see a fantastic cast. Absolutely flawless performances. County hall is a beautiful building with incredible architecture. The staff at the bar is nice. You can bring your drinks inside. Bathrooms had four stalls and one handicapped toilet. The line moved quickly.

Excellent staging of a great Agatha Christie. The opulent generic architecture of the former London County Hall chamber has the gravitas to provide a participatory setting for this gripping court room drama. Superb performances by all the cast, who are clearly enjoying every minute. With plot twists and turns aplenty, this is Christie at her best, in a most enjoyable setting. See it while you can...

This brilliant classic court room thriller by Agatha Christie is worth seeing at the theatre again even if you’ve seen the film versions. It’s beautifully acted and the theatre setting inside the Art Deco London County Hall is inspired: the seating naturally looks like that in a court room. In fact, patrons sitting in the left side boxes facing the stage front are sworn in as the jury and even read the verdict. The views from the gallery may be obstructed by pillars so I’d recommend avoiding those seats.

Classic! This show ticked all my boxes for a great production. You can pretty much sit anywhere in the stalls and get great views. I personally would avoid row A as you’re only likely to see the feet of the actors. But all other sits are fab! Large leather seats and best of all you can bring your drinks into the theatre. My pictures were taken from row C seats 53.

Truly a stunning setting for an edge-of-your-seat production. One can only hope they following this with more Agatha Christie stories, the imposing space deserves it. In case you were not aware the “courtroom” is the original council debating chambers from the long-abolished Greater London Council (previously the London County Council). A room with real history, this is no mocked-up set for a courtroom drama! Choose your seats wisely, it will greatly influence your enjoyment of the production and is one occasion I would encourage upgrading your choice where possible. If you found my review and photos helpful please leave a thumbs up 👍 Thanks!

Truly amazing and breathtaking performance. We were sitting in seats A4/5 which were super close to the stage, you need to raise your head to see the actors most of the time, but you can see all details from the actors expression which was a different type of experience(in a good way). The bar has very little to offer for the short break.

Such a fantastic location-specific production. The acting is fantastic, the setting is atmospheric and really immersive depending on where you sir, and old County Hall is one of the stars. Thoroughly recommend.

We went here to watch the Witness for the prosecution play by Agatha Cristie and it was a real master class 🤞 The County Hall it self is very glamorous and you felt very well integrated with the story all the time. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and respectful. I would highly recommend Witness for the prosecution at London County Hall. Thank you so much. 😊

Brilliant and exciting production. Of course the story is strong, intelligent and surprising. The acting was spot on and the setting was beyond my expectations. If you're visiting London, We are not british ourselfs so at times it was difficult to understand but its a great play. The location is fantastic. Different from any other play you have seen. The actors do a good job.

Agathe Cristie classic in a great location, only 5 min walk from Waterloo station. Great production of a murder trial with unexpected twists. Jury made from audience (i wonder how the play would go if the jury came to a different verdict). Our seats were in central galery (B22/23) with a great view of the whole court room.

Wonderful play, in a truly wonderful setting. What could have been better? Obviously the plot has to remain secret, but it was Agatha at her very best. Great acting, and the audience so close to the action, you really feel as if this is real, and one is easliy drawn in. Highly rcommended!

We really enjoyed this show. The location and setting really enhances the show. The actors common come in and out through the audience. It's also possible to be semi involved in the show if you get the jury seats. Every seat down stairs had great views but I can imagine that some in the gallery will be poor due to the pillars. Highly recommended.

Good Show. Was at Stalls F209 back of stage left. Is a very gripping play, I was actually right with my early prediction but the play have change my thoughts throughout the play. I feel the acting was very good, the ending felt a bit rushed but still very good in general. They do have a lot they need to fit in a limited amount of time.

I think it would be entirely fair to use the word - sensational. The atmosphere, the setting, the acting and the story, it was all a total delight. Everyone was fantastic but Simon Dutton absolutely made it for me. He was compelling and really made the whole thing so very real. I felt like I was actually in the play with them. Even the way the team did the scene swaps, it was precise and so well orchestrated. It gets pretty warm in there (I might be wrong but think this is deliberately so to add to the tension) so don't go layered up like I did! A wonderful night out and thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic experience and an amazing play. A must-visit attraction if you are in London. Try to get the seats as close to the action as possible to hear everything clearly.

  • 5/5 James D. 9 months ago on Google
Absolutely blinking fantastic. I was expecting this show to be amazing and wasn’t disappointed. Took my daughter and niece and they both loved it, and none of us saw the ending coming. The seats were a little uncomfortable, but the show didn’t drag on “past it’s welcome” so I was able to forgive this. The show offers dirt cheap tickets - these can have restricted views but it’s a small theatre so you’re never far away from the action. It’s an ATG theatre which means the food and drink offer is pricey, but good quality. If you’re debating going to see this, make sure you do, before it’s too late!

  • 5/5 JC 0. 6 months ago on Google
Very enjoyable - great unique setting feels very immersive. Jury seats were brill (although I’m not sure you influence the outcome!), view from all seats looks great but it was fun to feel part of the action and have the actors direct their lines to you. All actors were fantastic and really pulled you into the story.

I can thoroughly recommend this show. What an experience in such a superb venue. When the court usher shouts out the name for the next witness the acoustic echoes are provided by county halls stunning period architecture. The court room is intimate and you feel you are part of the proceedings. If you can, sit in the stalls.

  • 5/5 Gurleen S. 5 months ago on Google
Wow, this play is absolutely fantastic! When you enter the venue you’re blown away by how beautiful it is. Despite being sat right at the back we had an excellent view of the stage and could see all of the action. The acting particularly that of the lawyer, Sir Wilfrid and the defendant, Mr Vole was absolutely excellent, they were utterly convincing in their roles. Every word was clearly spoken so that everyone including those of us at the back could hear everything. Would highly recommend this play, it’s something that everyone can enjoy!

  • 5/5 Taylor G. 9 months ago on Google
This was an amazing play! I am a criminal barrister so naturally I had to come watch this. It was enthralling, theatrical, and most importantly engaging (my boyfriend didn’t fall asleep this time 😂)! Whether you’re in law or not, I highly highly recommend watching this play. It was interactive so the people who were sat in the “jury box” were a part of the play and had to deliver their own verdict at the end. But! The best part: the ending - watch to find out! Xxx

Went to see this with a friend. I am visually impaired and had access tickets. All staff were so helpful assisting me through the building and to my seat. A very special thank you to Paul who went to the bar for us! The show was amazing. Great atmosphere and brilliant acting. I really thought I was watching two barristers in Court. Brilliant show!

What a great show. The actors were great and the stage setting was really authentic, just like being in a court room. The jury was actually members of the audience, who had to play the part of the jury.

An absolutely incredible production, I was virtually captivated from the very start. If you enjoy courtroom dramas, or murder mysteries this is a must see show for you! I wish I could unsee it so that I could watch the show again! The whole experience is mesmerising - being sat in a real, old time Victorian courthouse, at seats that remind you of parliament you feel like you're a part of the show! Seriously, don't miss this one!

(Translated by Google) Capital emblematic place, central. We witnessed the play Witness for the Prosecution based on a novel by Agatha Christie. Excellent performance of the actors, with a final rich in unexpected twists. Avoid, however, the upper ranks C and D, you will not see anything. Good opportunities for cheap tickets in rows A and B. We went to this for our wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday and we could not have had a better day. We treated ourselves to Jury seats and felt part of the whole event. What an experience! The theatre at County Hall is really interesting and beautiful. The other parts of this iconic building are being used for various tourist venues and were a bit tacky. We saw this famous courtroom drama and it was brilliant! I was riveted and the ending mind boggling! Go see it as it's one of the most unique settings for a play I have experienced. The actors were so true to life that you forgot they were acting.
