I never knew such a place existed in Wimbledon London. Being a Buddhist myself I stumbled upon this place on Google. And decided I wanted to visit ( its the closest I get to Thailand) but the reason for my visit. Was to do film photography and walk around the grounds. Its just so beautiful and mesmerising too look at and walk around. You have to pre book if you want to be blessed by the monk. My blessing was for my 2 year sobriety. And I wanted to mark it in a special spiritual way. The experience with the monk and the blessing & the chants to blessing the bracelet he gave me to blessing me. It was powerful I can't describe it. I think its different for everyone who gets blessed by the said monk. You can give a donation of money or fruit or veg etc. I was very welcomed and the monk ( the one I met ) was absolutely brilliant. We had a few mins talk after my blessing. And it was really nice. The temple itself is stunning. And you go in there and meditate and and have some inner peace. You can't take photos or film in the temple as its sacred. I would recommend anyone to visit. And you don't have to be a buddhist or spiritual. 5 stars 🌟 from me. Namaste 🙏📿

It's a beautiful and peaceful place. It's a small Buddha Temple and very calm and beautiful. You can meditate and you can feel the Positive Energy throughout the temple. If you are driving don't worry there is a lot of parking space. It's a must place.

You step in another world by entering the gates of this amazing place! Lovelly! Plenty benches to rest and enjoy the gorgeous golden details and the garden is a perfect escape from the city! Not far from Putney ...is a short journey with 93 bus!

My goodness, what a delight. I can’t believe I’ve lived in Wimbledon so long and never visited this little treasure. The temple itself is simply gorgeous and the paintings on the wall on the inside are just beautiful. Whilst understandable, it’s still a shame that photography is not allowed in order for me to show you. I guess you’ll just have to visit in order to see it for yourself. It’s so peaceful, and a perfect place to meditate. I’ll be going back again for sure very soon.

The most serene place in Wimbledon! Stunning temple, beautiful grounds and it even has its own car park at the back. We'll worth a visit any time of the year.

Amazingly beautiful temple. Calm and quite and ideal for meditation. Visited with family on New Year's day 2024. Was not busy at all. Great architecture. Couldn't believe a temple of this nature existed in Wimbledon! You could visit the place for free. So many things to see within this close space and very memorable visit. Well maintained toilet facilities for visitors and ample parking within the premises and road side ,

last week I had a great time at the Buddha temple in Wimbledon! The temple is officially known as the Buddhapadipa Temple and is one of the largest Thai temples in Europe. It's a beautiful place with traditional Thai architecture and lovely gardens with ponds, which create a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The Thai New Year, also known as Songkran, is a major festival in Thailand, and it's great to hear that you were able to experience it at the temple in Wimbledon. The festival is usually celebrated in mid-April and is marked by water throwing, traditional Thai dances, and lots of delicious food. It's a great way to experience Thai culture and traditions. Overall, the Buddhapadipa Temple is a great place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Whether you're interested in Buddhism or simply looking for a relaxing day out, the temple and its beautiful park are definitely worth a visit.

Stunning!! I had no idea this beautiful temple existed in Wimbledon. My partner and I visited yesterday 30/7 and we had the most incredible & unexpected experience. The grounds are surrounded by lush greenery and tranquility, the Temple itself is stunning and for a while I felt I was in Thailand. We joined in a Meditation practice with a group of people who were also visiting. The takeaway for me was moving, I enjoyed the meditation practice and my partner & I will definitely be going back again.

Tranquil and serene temple. The monks and staff are absolutely wonderful and happy to talk to you. The place is not huge but intimate and a well hidden gem in London, open to people of all and no faiths. Please visit to gain a new experience and for a little peace of mind.

Such peace and tranquility in this south-west London suburb. Frescos in the Temple are amazing and I loved the way current images were mixed with age-old images. The artist/s are amazing.

Incredible place. All reviews talk of the beauty of the temple and all reviews can't do the architecture and art justice. It's really something amazing. The building is typical ornate Thai and is in itself incredible but the art inside is just next level. Funded by the Thai monarch and Buddhist community and painted by a group of Thai artists over 6 years and when you see it, you'll understand why. Art aside, this is a little oasis in London of peace and calm. The people there trust you to explore yourself and just treat the place with respect. Really connected me with what I felt I lost over the years since living a short time in a monastery in New Zealand. Feels a million miles away from London. I look forward to visiting again soon and hope to contribute more in future.

It's a lovely place to visit if in the Wimbledon Village area. A little piece of Thailand in England. Very peaceful like any religious grounds there's rules to be observed like taking off your shoes when entering the temple and not taking pictures inside the temple.

This place is so beyond beautiful and such a calm and wonderful respite from a busy surrounding area. The people who volunteer there are very friendly and keep the grounds clean and serene. The temple itself is small with incredibly beautiful artwork, idles, and plaques all around. The temple itself is ornate and delicate from the outside. I would definitely recommend visiting if you’re nearby and follow up with a walk around Richmond Park - a perfect day.
