Fantastic atmosphere and amazing experience in the family zone! £1 tickets for kids for vitality blast matches with heaps of entertainment on and off the pitch. We arrived an hour before the match started to enjoy the facilities. Kids got tshirts, face paint and green screen photos catching a ball. They had their bowling speed captured and their reflexes tested, they met some of the Surrey players. Xboxes were available in a second room, as were tables to sit and eat food. Complimentary tea and coffee were available. This was all before the cricket started! Great match and atmosphere. Bit of rowdiness towards the end of the match but all added to the experience. Good toilet facilities in the family zone. Would have been good to have a water fountain up there too, although you could ask the staff. There was a bar and food although we brought our own picnic no problem. Check what you're allowed to bring, on our match day no cans or glass. Some parents left their kids to it while they were at the bar but generally no issues with anyone misbehaving. There were a lot of boys, it would be great if families brought their girls along too!

My first visit to this iconic cricket venue. Really enjoyed it was here for a Surrey T20 game. Loved everything except the lines for booze were terrible. 30 mins waiting in the members end. Ah well - cricket was top notch

Amazing experience at this historic venue. Was a dream come true to see Indian team in whites at the Oval. We witnessed rain, sun, gloomy -typical England weather one the day. Nice Drinks and food options available . You can seat anywhere you want execpt the VIP and special areas. Passionate cricket fans in the country and we were literally grilled by the old English guys as we were losing the game. Funny experience. It was healthy banter all the day along. Every cricket fan deserves to visit this venue once. You can enjoy the open view with such close proximity.

Amazing historic cricket venue for international and domestic matches. Excellent facilities, food and drink options. Easy to find from local Tube and bus links. Large ground with modern stands and traditional pavilion. Overlooked by iconic gasometer just outside the ground. Fun fact: the first ever FA Cup final was held at the Oval in 1872 (Wanderers beat Royal Engineers 1-0.)

Great sporting venue with something for everyone. We went to two Vitality Blast games in the last week. Tickets are reasonably priced, most all seats have a good view and there is a wide range of food and drink options available to suit all needs. Also, the atmosphere is family-friendly with all group types welcome. Definitely plan to visit again!

Really well organised staff, very quick to get in and due to all the signage it's very easy to find your block. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Corinthian Roof Terrace and the staff were extremely helpful and it gave great views of the match. Even when I've been to the ground before and not in hospitality I've always had a great time, love going here!

The public returns to English cricket. Excellent organisation by the Surrey club and great to meet up with some old friends. I have really missed this during the Covid craziness

A brilliant evening out at The Oval. Well organised with friendly staff from security at the gates to the stewards on the field. A huge range of food to choose from, including halal kebabs and vegan ice-cream! Plenty of clean toilets all around the stadium. Great atmosphere!

Had a great experience watching India vs Australia WTC Final 2023. Crowd was amazing. Entry & exit was smooth, lots of options in the food area - loved the facilities overall. Dress for the weather if you do not have seats under the roof. Highly recommend watching a cricket match here!

My first ever cricket game & what an experience. As a cricket fan this was something else. We got some seriously good seats in the hospitality section & were treated to some really good cricket. The Oval is the best place to watch and experience international cricket. 10/10 recommend.

Great to have ticked another one off the bucket list. The Oval is such a great venue to relax and watch cricket. Fastest entrance we've experienced of all the major grounds and friendly staff. Felt safe and a great choice of catering and drinks available. The tour made our experience even better and was a good insight into not only behind the scenes but the corporate areas which have stunning views.

Was there for the Cricket World Cup match India vs Australia in July 2019. The stadium is nice, not too big, and you can enjoy the game with great view of the ground. Easily accessible via cabs and public transit.

Attending my first cricket match at the Oval Stadium in London was an exhilarating experience. The crowd's infectious energy made the atmosphere electric, and the match itself was incredibly entertaining. The passion of the fans, combined with the iconic venue, created a memorable sporting event that I won't soon forget.

The Oval is great for cricket games, but also hosting events. I used to take my son to indoor cricket training sessions years ago, but I didn’t know that there were so many event rooms for hire. I went to an event organised by the Home Office Community Engagement Team. The conference was in the viewing room and lunch & stalls were on the ground floor. The event was well organised and the staff were amazing constantly coming around to the tables to clear cups and plates. It’s a great place to hire for events.

A historic ground where the ashes were born and msy of the legends of the game have hung up their boots or gloves. To be at the same ground where Bradman, Ambrose, Broad tk name a few played their last games. Was an absolute privilage. Rich heritage steeped in history. Had a proper fanboy moment.

Some places you should just visit. This is one of them. I don’t know the first thing about cricket, I was here on a course. I’ll definitely be back to experience an event on an historical ground.

Sat at Vauxhall end reasonably in line with the wicket. The view was fantastic. It was also an exciting game of 20/20. Would go again but only if u sat in a similar position. Sitting square to the wicket is a not as good.

This is an amazing place for cricket in London, actually the best place for me in the UK. Probably a bit biased being a Surrey cricket member but I think a lot of people will agree with me. I've watched county cricket, T20 blast, The Hundred and international cricket and each and every one of those have been really good. There are lots of places to get drinks and food so even during breaks on a day of a full house it's not too difficult to get something to eat or drink. As a member there are some amazing facilities and access to areas with a lot of seating. Also got some airconed areas which is handy given the change in UK summers.

An amazing day out at the home of Surrey Cricket Club. I went to watch the Royal London One-Day Cup match between Surrey and Warwickshire and had a great time. The atmosphere was incredible, the venue was great with a good range of food and drinks and everything was well organised.

I was at The Hundred as part of a big crowd so that part was very good. Considering how historic the ground is, they don't really make much effort to celebrate that. It's just another cricket ground, but it shouldn't be.

Stunning place. The toilets are clean and has sinks in every cubicle. I went for a PiXL convention and the food and venue was very nice. The cricket grounds look was calm and amazing.

Great venue, perfect for The Hundred. Everything is cashless so make sure you bring your card. It's got a variety of food and a few options of drinks. Water machine, so you can top up your bottles during hotter days

What a beautiful stadium. It was my first time there and first cricket match. Loved the lunch and tea hamper along with the Pimm's and cricket customs. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day.

Spectacular views and pleased to be here and witness team India heroic victory against england. I booked 21 tickets in J M Finn balcony and so happy with the view's as entire ground nicely covered and best place to watch match as this section they have soft seats facilities to make comfortable compared to other areas just plastic seating. I am disappointed with just extremely horrible beers bad odour in J M Finn balcony siting as I found spilled beers on floor and create some layers which has so strong bad odour apart from that best place to watch match .

  • 5/5 Cristina C. 3 years ago on Google
The Oval is built on part of the former Kennington Common. Cricket matches were played on the common throughout the early 18th century. The earliest recorded first-class match was the London v Dartford match on 18 June 1724.[16] However, as the common was also used regularly for public executions of those convicted at the Surrey Assizes (it was the south London equivalent of Tyburn), cricket matches had moved away to the Artillery Ground by the 1740s. Kennington Common was eventually enclosed in the mid-19th century under a scheme sponsored by the royal family.

One of my favourite sporting stadia. Full of character and atmosphere. It would be even better if you didn't have to tell the bar staff to fill the pint 'glasses' up. Will formally complain if the staff try and serve short measures next time.

While they don't have halal options under unless a Muslim team is playing. There closest eat is a fast food chicken shop towards Vauxhall bridge. As for the Oval, it's always developing. The ground is as good as any and also hosted the first FA cup match.

The Oval, known for sponsorship reasons as the Kia Oval,[2][3] is an international cricket ground in Kennington, in the London Borough of Lambeth, in south London.[4] The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845.[5][6][7] It was the first ground in England to host international Test cricket in September 1880.[8][9] The final Test match of the English season is traditionally played there. In addition to cricket, The Oval has hosted a number of other historically significant sporting events. In 1870, it staged England's first international football match, versus Scotland.[10] It hosted the first FA Cup final in 1872,[11][12] as well as those between 1874[13] and 1892.[14] In 1876, it held both the England v. Wales and England v. Scotland rugby international matches and, in 1877, rugby's first varsity match.[15] It also hosted the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
