A beautiful church in the city of London. One of Wrenn's post Great Fire of London Churches. The "wedding cake" fanning on the ceiling is some of the best work in London if not the country.

My Husband and I came here for the first time on valentine's day, they reserved a table for us and put a rose on the table for us, the coffee was lovely and the staff were professional too. The church itself was astonishing and breathtaking, would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a different place to have a coffee/tea. We will definitely be visiting again.

This place is quite unique.i like the way the space can still be used for worship even when coffee lovers are enjoying their thing. I also like the attention given to quiet contemplation and so it makes the whole place quite nice to just sit and be present. It's not that cheap but the coffee is good and the carrot cake is good. A downside is the fact that there aren't that many proper seats that aren't pews so it's not possible to sit to work or read or sketch for any length of time... It's not for hanging around in this respect which I find a shame. All in all, a great find that is recommended without hesitation.

I found this place in an article about London's quirkiest coffee shops. The café is located in The Guild Church of Saint Mary Aldermary. Benedictine monks from Christchurch Canterbury Priory are thought to have founded it over 900 years ago. The church was one of many which suffered significant damage during the Great Fire of London in 1668 and so Christopher Wren rebuilt the church in the late 17th century in a gothic style. Since 2011 the Moot community, a new monastic community, run the church and have also developed the Host café. Sadly I was delayed on my incoming journey and was too late to enjoy a cup of coffee whilst admiring the columns and interior of the church. I was invited in to have a look around the church though. The coffee is said to be provided by local roasters, Mission Coffee Works. Cakes breads and organic soup are also available. All things I’ll enjoy next time I’m in the area.

Very interesting Grade I-listed anglican church in the City of London a couple of minutes walk from Mansion House Underground Station. A church had existed on the site for more than 900 years but it was badly damaged during the Great Fire of London in 1666. It was mostly rebuilt by the office of Sir Christopher Wren in a gothic style. Great tower and lovely ceiling and organ. The church operates as a cafe during weekdays and is well worth a visit.

A beautiful church. Lovely decorative Plasterwork ceiling. They have a small coffee shop just inside, so you can sit and have a coffee while admiring the place.

What s an incredible ideia, to combine a coffee an a church to make it a social place where people , can be bythemself or with friends, pray or socializing, it has made this place very particular. The team were amazing, pleasant and welcoming. It s a 5 star experience for me.

The coffee shop inside adds a new dimension to the religious experience. A latte in a pew - where else can you have that?

Best coffee in the City and in a largely original Christopher Wren church.

Grade I Listed 17th.Century early Gothic Revival church. The square Tower with corner turrets among the most restrained in the City. The naive separated from the aisles by shallow arches supported on white columns, effectively drawing one’s vision toward the spectacular plaster fan-vaulted ceiling. Breathtaking geometry; inspired and uplifting. A coffee shop with seating located at the end of the western naive smelts effortlessly into the surround. The coffee just fine, the surround memorable. An active community, an outreach programme, courses and lectures. Recommended unhesitatingly.

Been coming here for years when I need to burn an hour or less waiting for the other half. Repurposing of a historical building with elegant taste without loosing its dignity or relevance to modern society.

Fantastic place to have a cup of coffee. Not only a great idea, but also good quality cafe. Must see if you're in the city centre and need to take a break. They also serve some snacks and sandwiches but I haven't tried, will do next time!

This is a lovely place: coffee is very good. Almond croissants are amazing. Perhaps the best thing is that they help out the local homeless community. If you visit, consider buying a "suspended coffee" for someone: see the sign on the counter or ask the staff.

The Guild Church of St Mary Aldermary is an Anglican church located in Watling Street at the junction with Bow Lane, in the City of London. Of medieval origin, it was rebuilt from 1510. Badly damaged in the Great Fire of London in 1666, it was rebuilt once more, this time by Sir Christopher Wren; unlike the vast majority of Wren's City churches, St Mary Aldermary is in the Gothic style.
