A lovely cathedral in the heart of London. Closest tube station is Lambeth North (bakerloo line). The parish priest is excellent. The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem holds its investiture ceremonies here. This a beautiful church with a thriving parish with multiple outreach activities benefiting the local community.

A stunningly beautiful lesser known London Cathedral with a lovely steward . After the Catholic Emancipation Act of 1829 Father Thomas Doyle raised the money to build this fantastic building and hired Augustus Welby Pugin as architect and St Georges was opened in 1848 . Pugin also designed great Cathedrals in Nottingham Birmingham Northampton all great and much more as well as works by his family buisness like Cardiff and Wrexham Cathedrals . It survived being greatly damaged by a incendiary bomb in 1941 the newly restored building was designed by Romilly Craze finished in 1958 who also designed the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham Norfolk. It has been visited by Pope John Paul II , Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama . One I believe that's often missed which is a pity it gets a big up from me . Oh I almost forgot its now been visited by me as well hahaha . A picture added of Pugin design before 1941 . Picture added of a plaque in commemoration of Romilly Craze in Walsingham .

A magnificent architecture construction, this cathedral is beautiful out and Inside. Inside, this cathedral is supported by beautiful details and decorations. A place that is well maintained, with a peaceful environment. An ideal place if you want to pray and find yourself connected with God.

From my short experience during a friend's wedding, the interior of this cathedral is absolutely beautiful and super spacious. Great lighting inside. Great space to worship and get married.

I attended a wedding there, it is a beautiful building. When you look at the building it doesn't appear that big, but once you go in you realise the true scale of the place. Gorgeous stained glass windows at either end.

A beautiful building with some incredible colourful windows. The choir is wonderful and the acoustics of the building enhance any mass.

The see of the catholic archbishop of southwark dedicated to St George patron saint of England was badly damaged during the blitz and substativly rebuilt. Today there was ordination to the order of deacons. The church was the site of St John Paul II administration of the Sacrement of the Sick during his pastoral visit in May 1982. The cathedral has a nice side chapel to St Thomas of Canterbury and the English martyrs. Sts John Fisher and Thomas More are depicted at the main door. The cathedral holds a relic of St Oscar Romero who like St Thomas of Canterbury was murdered in his cathedral. St Oscar defended both the poor and the teachings of the Church. The stations of the cross start to the left of the main door on entry and run one side of the cathedral. A portion of the original High Altar is set out near the chapel to st oscar. A prayer station to Our Lady for peace in the Ukraine is set up between st Patrick chapel and font. Which is in it proper place the right of the main door on entry. St George's is a beautiful cathedral near to Lambeth North station and the Imperial War museum. A place of peace and calm.

We went to a concert by The Purcell Singers and the cathedral was a perfect location to match the ethereal, beautiful singing. A place in which to ponder the the wonder of life on earth.

Visited the Cathedral to see the St Bernadette relics which rested there overnight. So beautifully and respectfully done - I found the experience very moving. There was a special Mass too. Although a Londoner, I had never visited this church before and it is beautiful. Lovely side chapel and a glorious modern style cross in one of them. Obviously, with the Relics and Mass, it was not the time to act as a tourist but this church is worth a visit, Catholic or not.

Nice interior. Mass quite decent. Pity they cut off the roof of the building and left it flat. Even my visiting sister commented on this. Also miss shaking hands during the peace. We need to bring this back, please.

Nice grand church, solid choir though hard to sync with the organ and there was an annoying hum coming from the speakers. Very elegant church. Good central heating on a pretty cold day.

Simple and beautiful place. Very tastefully decorated trees. Nice to be able to pay for votive candles with a card. Only query:where is the icon of St George and the dragon?

I was completely in awe visiting this fabulous cathedral, it is simply amazing! The architecture is mesmerising, anyone who has ever attended a sermon or a concert there, has been incredibly lucky! It is located near the Imperial War Museum, so if anybody wants to visit the museum, I would recommend visiting the cathedral as well!

A welcoming church where truth is preached, based on the Bible. A great place to interact with other Christians, expand your knowledge of God's Word, and strengthen your relationship with Christ.

I have just been to Mass and spoken to a parishioner who drives and parks his car in the car park and entrance is next to the Cathedral at the front of the Cathedral. He told me that parking is free all day Sunday, but visitors must pay Monday through Saturday for parking. Visitors need to ask Dean Richard for details. For regular disabled parishioners there may be free parking passes. There are some street parking slots outside the Cathedral. Hope this helps.

I fell in love with the Parish and all the Godly friendly priests. They are always ready to listen and advice, really at peace when I go for prayer or for Mass. Lockdown is not necessary in our Church, unfortunately the government do not see the great happiness and peace that serving and unify prayers in Churches gives to believers. I pray that all goes well with cure and vercine for COV-d19, so that life fir the world can get back to as normal as possible.

I don’t suppose online reviews matter too much for a house of God, but thought I’d share our experience in case it’s helpful to anyone. My wife and I were married at the Cathedral last Saturday, and we had the most amazing service, there. Father Daniel was an absolute gent throughout the preparation for the event, and gave a magnificent ceremony. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, especially under the current circumstances. All the best!
