Showers are gross and ice cold, the male staff came once to to female changing room to sign the sheet for cleaning. WiFi doesn't work in most areas. The place can be packed on peak times but staff are limited when you actually need help.

Reasonable clean ( although never used the toilets). Great equipments and good variety too! The reason I am giving 3 stars is not about this specific gym… it’s for PureGym in general! This gym is extremely busy !!! At all the times! What are you ( as company) are doing to change this? Are you planning to open another one in the area????

It's a really good size gym although it can get really busy in-between 6pm and 10pm

One of my local gym options, I tend to come at out off peak times so my experience is pretty slick during my sessions. Nice and clear area to work out without the hassle of waiting for weights or machines. Due to covid extra precautions have been taken and there's cleaners often cleaning the gym. Overall pleased with the gym functionality and the majority or gym buddies here.

Very good size and lots of equipment but is ridiculously busy especially after work, and there always seem to be 1 or 2 machines broken at any time, particularly the leg press and the treadmills. Staff are OK but need to keep a tighter handle on people cleaning up after themselves as the place is a tip most of the time and there's no repercussions for people who do it. They've recently also removed nearly all of the sanitising stations which seems a really weird decision given how hot it is and how sweaty the place is at the minute. Its good if you're going to work out early mornings (5/6am) or the hours when people are in work but otherwise its a nightmare, especially given how expensive it is.

New refurbishment is bad. Can’t hear PT in new studio at all. More people turn up to some classes and no one deals with this. Today I turned up to a class, didn’t have enough equipment left, no one did anything about it. The gym is just a constant battle for resources. Sports water machine out of flavour half the time. I can’t wait to move away next month.

Spacious Puregym. Pretty well maintained. Lots of open areas where you can take a few weights & train. Good amount of benches. Not as oversold as some of the other locations. Few bits of feedback: - The vertical alignment is out of place on one of the fly-machines. (happens in a lot of Puregyms). - Please clean out the Yanga sports water dispenser more regularly. Coconut & pineapple tastes spoiled. Not sure about the other flavours as I haven't touched it since.

Newly refurbish, spacious and clean facilities, quality/ price is good. It can get a bit crowded in rush hour (which gym doesn't?) but other than that is a joy to workout in. Friendly staff and big shout to the managers who are always ready to help you with anything immediately, big shout out to Marshall for always being so helpful.

Good gym, has all you'd need but (weird complaint I know) it's so so hot here always! Like it feels about 23 degrees most days here. Turn down the Temperature, save some money! Good gym otherwise. Update: since October they started having a DJ in the gym at 7 pm on a Monday right next to the racks (if not other nights), and the music is RIDICULOUSLY loud, to the point noise isolating headphones don't even help. Dropping two stars for this, it's unbearable. If having a DJ is that important either drop the volume a lot or do it at a far less busy time when people can choose to listen to this.

Horrendously busy unless you like to workout at 5/6am to actually be able to find a space or any equipment that is either working or not being taken by someone apparently stockpiling every weight they can gather. The place seems pretty grubby and dirty at the best of times and nobody seems to clear up after themselves. I've even spotted the staff working out and just leaving a pile of dumbbells and plates scattered about. The dirtiness is made worse now by less cleaning stations in the entire place.

Ridiculously busy gym. I live around the corner form this gym but I'm forced to drive 15 minutes to the next Pure Gym because this one is always too busy. At times it feels like you are in an underground tube. Please either open another gym in the area or put the prices up to make this gym a pleasant experience.

What can I say about the amazing fitness team at PureGym Bermondsey.... Marshall/Omar/Alessio/Joe/Inno... just world class. They are the reason I remain consistent and committed to my fitness journey. They always make clients and everyone feel inclusive and enjoy an amazing experience. There is no such thing as being "shy"... not in our classes. We have fun. Fun burning fat. I absolutely love coming here. Let's make 2024 another wonderful fit year. Go Team!!!!

Great Gym! not too overcrowded especially if you go in the morning. The manager definitely is doing an incredible job to keep it functioning and clean and if the machine are broke they Don't stay like this for too long. Overall a very nice and big gym but the best part for me are the spinning classes. Especially the one with Alessio, great instructor with a perfect balance of resistance, endurance and speed. Plus amazing attention to details when it come to the music track, you can definitely see that he put an effort to choce the right songs: from the very fast paced while speeding to the mellow yoga tune while doing stretching. Definitely a great asset to the Gym.

I like the staff members at puregym. Especially because they are so nice and friendly. One of honorable mention is PT Jamie. He is so friendly and helpful even though I am not his client. He has always given me good advise!

It is a good gym, generally speaking it is clean and staff are good. Showers in male changing room, could do with more attention. Lots of equipment, if you don't like free weights you have options. It is busy, especially in the afternoon and evening. But nothing can be done about that.

Really good gym for a reasonable price. The classes are generally really good (especially in Cycle - Will was great) although I think they should probably cap the numbers lower for the classes in the studio, when it can feel over-crowded sometimes. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Could do with more bike racks out front as they're always full when I arrive.

This is the best gym I've ever been to. I've been going here for over 5 years and the most recent refurbishment of the gym is the best yet. Lots of space, a huge variety of equipment, and multiple cleaning stations too. The personal trainers here are the friendliest I've ever seen and they really make you feel welcome. Anyone on the fence should definitely sign up - you will not regret it!

Large gym, lots of free weights and machines. If only fellow members would put them away after using…. If you’re not there before 6:30am, forget it. You’ll spend more time hunting after the right weight than training.

Not too bad , decent gym but it all depends on what time you go. I went there a few times at 9:30 and the place was absolutely packed. Would sometimes leave you wondering about the gym because so many people are using the machines / benches that you want to use. Good gym, staff are nice and the facilities are really clean. But if you’re working and haven’t got the time to go before peak times i wouldn’t recommend.

Well, I was waiting for someone to get me inside the gym. From the outside looks great, but apparently there’s no staff. Very disappointed! I don’t think me and my friends are going to change gym after that. 15 minutes and nobody. Wow PureGym Bermondsey used to be better!

Big gym. Lots of equipment so you can always find something, even when it is busy. Doesn't seem to be staffed as I haven't seen any yet while going. Showers are clean but don't have much power, and have to press the button every 30 seconds (at best).

Good all-round basic gym. Good range of free weights and 24hr access. The classes and live attendance sections of the app are great. No steam room sauna or swimming pool (In case you're looking for those)

Love working out here - it’s a great gym and has all the equipment you’d need for a good workout. The staff are fantastic; special shout out to Marshall for always having a smile on his face and keeping things running smoothly :)

Quite a large gym for London so usually can get on machines and weights alright. However they don’t replace or repair machines very quickly. You’d think for how many people pour money into this company they could keep the machines working - pretty much down to the last stair master out of 4 now. Also PureGym as a company make it quite hard to cancel or modify membership as a way to milk a few extra payments out of ya so watch out for that. But end of the day get what you pay for and it’s fairly cheap (again for London - £32 per month ish)

Dont feel safe leaving your belongings unattended, specially on Sundays or times where there is no staff working, as there are people out there stealing stuff. I went with a friend in a Sunday evening and after a 30-min workout went back to the locker which was not locked and from a bag and two coats, my one was not there. When I looked out for help there was no team members available which is frustrating and it gets me too pissed

Can get a bit busy during peak times but is a good space and has a good variety of equipment and spaces. Wipes are still available to clean equipment but social distancing of equipment has ended

Hi, the gym is absolutely stunning but while joining the spinning classes just destroyed my immune system. I ve got sick 3 times from the AC. That room is way too cold and you feel it especially when you worked out and your body is sweaty. It s a shame because I used to love joining these classes but now I can’t because of this issue. And as far as I m concerned I m not the only one in this situation.

Very grateful to the staff (especially Sophie) who had gone out of her way to track down my missing keys! She was already quite busy with the PG directors visiting today but managed to help me out at the same time which was very considerate of her and from my experience most employees wouldn't even bother go out their way to help someone with so much going on. Thank you!

This gym is decent and spacious but it’s a depressing space. Not many windows and all the walls are grey and black so in the winter it’s a bit miserable! Good free weights space though

The best thing about this gym is obviously that it’s close to where I live! But, having been to many gyms in the past, I like the lack of pretentiousness here. The staff and management are all really friendly without being over the top. The equipment is good, the studio is great and my PT Is brilliant (Jack Cooper). All Such good value for money too. I Recommend.

Astonishing. NO words. I have recently joined. Planned a training schedule with a 10 k row at 5.15am Can You believe not 1 of the rowing machines was working. Broken straps . No batteries. No staff anywhere.

Great local gym, easy location for bikes and car parking outside on main road free after 6.30pm. Large and spacious training areas.

I’ve been a member for about two years and visit the gym 5-6 days out of the week, seen a big improvement since the refurb, the new layout works well. Staff are friendly and there to assist if need be. Some of the reviews have unrealistic expectations; yes, the gym is really busy during peak hours, but it’s the only well-equipped chain gym in close proximity, and the gym itself isn’t to blame for that. Other members are generally happy to share equipment when it’s busy, you just need to ask politely, I’ve never been denied such a request. Generally, it has a good atmosphere of people working on themselves and I find myself enjoying my workouts

I did the cycle class for the first time since Covid. - I was with Aldgate for a decade. Will, the tutor was amazing. He has a lot of energy and teaches the right technique using exactly the right amount of time for us to rest and listen to him whilst the exercises are effective and fun. The music choice is world class too.

I always feel comfortable at this gym. It’s clean, has the necessary equipment and great staff… I find Marshall in particular to be very friendly and helpful. I absolutely love his spinning classes!

Gym feels like Home🥹… Wearing Hijab in public has never been easy, you’re always questioned no matter what. One of the most welcoming Gym I have ever been to! These past 6 months have been incredible and I can’t wait to create more memories… The staff is supportive and extremely encouraging. Would 110% recommend this Gym, well, I travel to Bermondsey all the way from Stratford. Nothing more left to say I believe… “Patience leads to Success”!

I love PureGym for its classes and wide gym network. There is just a little issue (in Bermondsey at least), the evening group classes lack essential equipment like mats, steps and sometimes we are even short on weights and bars. It's often a struggle to get what you need, and have to make do without or skip the class. It would be lovely to see these updated / replenished, especially since there was a big refurbishment recently.

Friendly and welcoming staff members. The managers always say hello. There is more space and people are very helpful with a nice community gym feel. I was working out and someone helped me as I was doing my workout. Love this gym.

It’s just a fantastic space with great equipment and super clean. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Love it here.! The only little thing I would say is that I wish showers were open after mid night because sometimes after work I come and work out at this think and I end up not been able to have a shower.bit apart from that it’s perfection.

Large gym with lots of equipment, got everything you need and been very impressed! The spin chases are also very good! I’ve tried most spin studios in london and wasn’t expecting much at Pure but very impressed! Will is very motivating and you get a good class!

Great PureGym like others. This PureGym has a great selection of equipment for both cardio as weights. The gym is large in size and has areas for each type of exercise. Great gym for casual goers and newer members. Prices aren’t too bad for the quality of gym you pay for. Toilets and shower facilities are inside. Lockers inside for you to store your things while you workout. Very handy bicycle parking and on street parking available.

  • 5/5 Produty77 1 year ago on Google
I’ve been coming to gym for a while, and I have always found this gym to be a friendly gym to attend, it can be busy at times, but I find enough space to do my workouts. The gym is a place where I feel great to train at. Love the refurbishment.

  • 4/5 Miguel De V. 1 year ago on Google
Upgraded gym from 2022, monthly nice price. Horribly crowded peak hours, where you can't even stand up. Outside of this, it is easy to be able to do your training and be able to do different exercises without waiting too long. Great staff, cleaning all areas in their quieter moments. Full of phone tripods to record your workouts and it is uncomfortable Reduced bike parking and easily steals any part of the bike or bike. The APP allows you to know how many people are online in the gym so you can understand if it is a good time to go. In addition, you can access the gym only by scanning the QR: (to improve, when the gym is unattended, you need to enter the manual code at the door, so the app doesnt work.

  • 3/5 Sarah H. 1 year ago on Google
It's a good gym in terms of range of equipment, location, etc, but it's now just got way too busy, and it's really difficult to complete your workout without waiting around for equipment or finding the space to do what you need to do. As another consequence, the equipment such as accessories for cable machines and the incremental weights are all over the place, you have to hunt around for them, and there are just not enough of them. I also go to the St. Paul's branch and this is much better to get a good workout in, and all machines have a full set of incremental weights, everything is where is should be and easy to find.

  • 4/5 Aleksandr R. 10 months ago on Google
Nice place, not too crowded in the morning. 1 or 2 machines are broken, unfortunately. One was fixed quickly and other is still not working. No TRX in this branch :( Apart from that, the staff is very friendly and ready to help, very nice people.

This place is off-the-charts popular, but not because it's top-notch. Don't get me wrong, it's a letdown. First things first, it's always jam-packed. Trying to squeeze your way onto a machine or find a free spot to work out is a daily struggle. It's like trying to fit in a sardine can. Rarely do they give sweaty equipment a proper cleaning. I've seen cleaner public restrooms than this place. When it comes to equipment, they're seriously lacking. You'd think with all the demand, they'd splurge on more machines, but it's a constant battle to snag anything remotely useful. And even when you do, half the time, the equipment is old and screaming for some TLC. I didn't really want to show the showers pictures, but when I told the person in charge about the problems with the showers, they acted like they didn't care and ignored me. The staff was really rude. The men's showers were in bad shape, with big problems in cleaning and maintenance. Some showers didn't work right, and others were really dirty and could be harmful to health. This place in my opinion, either warrants closure or requires a change in management right away.

Sadly this gym consistently falls below acceptable standards. Over the last year of my membership I have experienced at least 3 flooding of the male toilets, leaking roof, Yanga machine not functioning, the lack of heating in changing room and the smell coming from the drains. Today what looks like sewerage is flowing into the shower trays is the final straw for me. I will be leaving! Health Hazard!
