Small. The moment I walked in I was approached about 5 times by different staff asking if I wanted personal training sessions, I respect the hustle but it was annoying. The equipment is well maintained and they have done well with use of space. 3 weightlifting platforms so if you want to use you need to go off peak. A nice gym for quieter times. Super crowded after work and peak days / hours.

I attended the gym for a tour after enquiring about pricing. What I walked into was a Wolf of Wall Street-style sales pitch. Before even being allowed in, I had to fill a form in with my contact details (which they already had) and nonsense questions like my preferred dancing style. Apparently, this was necessary to start the tour for "fire safety reasons"? Let's assume I am now on a never ending mailing list doom-loop. The walk through the facilities and classes was helpful, but the aggressive and pushy 'Always Be Closing' tactics used by the salesperson were a total turn off. Working in the City amongst its characters is difficult enough without paying for the 'privilege' of being around someone who barely took no for an answer by the end of the tour. This kind of gym and approach to customers might work for some people, but wont for others. So, to save yourself the bother, here's the pricing list - make your own mind up :)

Gym in general is ok. But times to times its very busy and you can’t easily find equipment. Customer care/service is very poor. The target is to collect the fee without taking into account any circumstances. Had my membership frozen for a month (paid £15) to freeze it then I wanted to unfreeze and payment on website was not going through. I did not joined the gym that specific month but I was still made to per for it plus the £15 fee. Considering the monthly fee that I am paying that seem to me very unprofessional. I will definitely not renew my membership. Need to be part of a friendly gym with customer care

0/5 Health & Safety - if you want a cleaner mopping around your feet whilst you workout making the floor & your gym shoes slippery enough to slip over and injure yourself whilst working out - then this is the gym for you. The cleaner will mop around your feet as you workout after work even though the gym is busy with people exercising & closes at 11pm.

There are only two stair cardio machines out of which one is always broken and they wouldn't repair it. People hog it for all time and you won't get a chance to use that one machine. Attended their TRX suspension class. The equipment was so old and rusty. The environment was too noisy from the boxing area adjacent to it and with loud music that I could barely understand the instructions from the trainer. Afterwards I tried doing self workout only to find how the machines are being hogged up by various personal trainers who are blocking multiple equipments for circuit training their clients. The free weights area is impossible to find or know about unless you ask for it. Overall a very commercialized and focused on personal training kind of environment. There are other better gyms out there in my opinion.

Shady business practices, overpriced and under-equipped. Worst Gym in the country and it's not even close. The sales gurus at Gymbox are extremely unprofessional and use aggressive sales tactics to pressure customers to sign for a membership. They are more interested in conversion rates upon touring than they are with retention rates. I have been at Gymbox before a few years back and thought I would try again and remembered exactly why I left. Complex pricing structures, hidden fees and dishonest business practices are at the core of this gym. They will take advantage of those just starting out at the gym and pressure them into signing for a membership. They are ridiculously overpriced for what they offer which is just basic gym equipment, substandard training spaces/studios and shower areas. Do not be fooled by their statement as "London's best equipped gym", the equipment is like anything you'd find at a budget gym for weight training purposes. Limited grip handles, non-competition standard dumbbells/benches and creaky cable machines. They will charge premium prices for slightly better equipment and for less space than at budget gyms. If you want to charge premium pricepoints then provide premium equipment and services. Atleast they have ELEIKO plates if you can get your hands on them during peak hours. THE "VPTs" are also terrible with many of them making clients do BS instagram exercises that look fancy but actually just increase injury risk and reduce your ability to train to failure. They like to gatekeep knowledge to make sure clients are reliant on them in the future and will not instruct you on how to create a proper training/diet plan that works for your body type. Don't waste your money on them either, they don't know anything and if they do they won't tell you. I have been training for years and can confidently say my worst experience at any gym I've been to is Gymbox.

This Gym is very cool. They are in the Heart of the City in a old bank and you can see a very big big safe door (kind a cool feature). Nice people around and a lot of space for boxing and specific machine for train legs and upper body. I never been at night when the DJ do his magic. The stuff is super friendly and advise everyone to try

Since October - November 2019 this place has been a joke considering the money you pay for the membership: water leaks above the boxing ring, water leaks in mens' changing rooms; the sauna is breaking frequently, showers stink and the cherry on the cake: first week of January 2020 showers had no running water. Combat classes (boxing, Muay Thai) are always overcrowded: 20 people inside of the boxing ring. The only good thing is that the staff are always friendly and helpful as much as they can.

This gym has had no warm showers for 3 weeks! Apologies but very little compensation. Gym facilities are fine, but a warm shower would be nice. And I signed up to Bank for a reason. Cannon Street isn’t a long term solution!

Just wanted to leave a glowing review for the staff at Gymbox Bank. I’m not a member, but I attend classes twice a week and everytime I come in I’m welcomed by the friendly staff. They remember your name, they make you feel so welcome and they make every member or guest feel appreciated. Sometimes I’m run down from work and struggling for motivation to attend my classes but these guys ALWAYS perk me back up again. Facilities are fantastic, everything is so clean. If I wasn’t in a commitment with my current gym I would switch instantly

Been using Gymbox since April. I train with my fab personal trainer @Laura Martin. It is a great place to train and really convenient if you are around the city. The receptionists (Tiger and Natalia) are great and always have my vanilla milkshake ready after my sessions. My favourite place is the 1st level where you will find the "nightclub". Only nightclub I have been to without a drink in my hand but obviously good for my fitness.

Swapped over to Gymbox Bank start of the year, great gym, excellent facilities. Staff/reception are really friendly and personable.... In that time, I train twice a week with a PT there James Ronan, best PT I have ever had! Knows my body and mind, changes my program to hit my targets, or if I need to rest certain parts of the body. I cannot recommend James enough, get down there and see him!!

I've been a member of Gymbox for a few years and it has everything I would want or need from a gym. I love the vibe. I've trained at so many other places from Third Space to local leisure centres, and I've found that the Gymbox atmosphere is the one that vibes with me most. They have all the equipment you could need and I've found that things get repaired fairly quickly if they break. The changing rooms, showers and saunas are regularly cleaned but a fantastic cleaning team (who definitely deserve a shout out!) and the gym space itself is never dirty. The classes are the biggest selling point for me. It's the only gym I've known that has both a training space and lets me train circus, pole, and dance, as well as allow me try new things. There's something for everyone and you'll find that you'll make friends really quickly in the classes. You become a community and make so many connections. Each time I've trained at Bank I've found it to be quiet. There's never been a time where I haven't been able to get onto a piece of equipment or use the things I want to use. I however, have not trained during peak times. The best part of it all? The personal trainers! All of them are fantastic and will take the time to get to know you. They have so much knowledge and will not hesitate to help you when they can. They are what make the space incredible, and they seem to know how to have fun while working! I've had the pleasure of training with Laura Martin since February 2023 and there are not enough adjectives to describe how fantastic she is! Her energy is unmatched and she can even make single leg squats enjoyable (whoever invented them needs to get in the bin!). She knows her stuff and is unbelievably talented, and she can point you in the right direction with the things she doesn't know. That's if she hasn't gone away to become a master in it! It has been an absolute joy and honour to train with her and I'm so grateful to have had the pleasure to meet her! If you need a trainer who will light up even your darkest days, then she is your girl! Overall this is a pretty great gym. If I was to give any negative comment it would be that it is in a basement and lacking a little vitamin D.

A very disappointing experience: they required an ID at time of arrival which I happened to have on me by accident (who brings id to the gym?!), expected me to have a padlock (?!) for the locker but didn’t tell me I’d need it until I got to my locker and came back to reception to ask. Also none of this was mentioned in the class/gym description. Class requires your name to be on the screen - I was not on it, was sent by coach to register, came back up to reception, they told me I won’t be registered but gave me a card for the coach to enroll me.. all this took a lot of walking up and down floors, missing the start of the class, and nobody thought any of this was an issue. Class was ok, coach was mostly nice but useless as a coach - not really teaching anyone anything. Facilities seemed fine. I also have no respect for gyms (or any other services) which don’t tell you their prices or full T&Cs on their websites. Won’t come back, canceled next class.

Trendy uplifting, decent equipment in the basement weight section! If you love good proper iron this an amazing place for you. However upstairs weights area you can barely see what you are doing it is so dark there. I understand the concept but that darkness is way too dangerous for health and safety and just simply annoying too !

Great inner city gym, a lot bigger than it looks from the outside . Friendly welcoming staff and great for city workers, they have 30 min classes at lunch so can do door to door in 1 hour. Studio 1 is a really nice space for a self directed workout if it’s empty, or for a class. In terms of weights and machines, they’re missing a resistance leg press which is a bit of a bummer but the kit looks fine if a wee bit dark in the space. I haven’t ventured into the machine area, so can’t review more. There are areas you can take free weights for a bit more space so this works well for me. They have a good range of cardio machines and importantly they have the great “stride” machines which are so much nicer than the pointless swinging leg ones, IMO. Bathrooms are really clean which is great. And the women’s has a sauna in it (probably mens does too). It would be great if the bathrooms had seperate body wash & shampoo rather than all in one - hard to have one product that is good at both these things and would be pretty cheap to install and massively improve the user experience! There is fantastic music in this gym and it’s the first place that’s been loud enough that I don’t need my own music, but not so loud that it’s painful to the ear. The classes themselves also have the music to a perfect volume, often gyms get this wrong and it’s super painful (eg third space classes are horrendously loud). Whoever is monitoring volume is doing a great job! Maybe it’s just because the sound system is top quality as well. PTs will approach you as you’re working out to sell to you, so be prepared for this.

Don’t normally feel compelled to write Google reviews, but when something changes the course of your day because of customer service, you have to! I normally have a lot of anxiety going into a gym for the first time and hate being put on the spot. I came into the Gym box next to Bank station and was greeted by a young Scottish guy at the front desk (I want to say his name was Jamie) he was extremely polite and really informative and didn’t rush when explaining the way things work. He even walked by on his rounds to make sure I was happy with everything. It’s so refreshing to see people at their work space happy and willing to help customers without it feeling forced! I now enjoy going to the gym!

Decided to pluck up the courage and return to the gym today - boy am I glad I did! Jamie on the front desk was so helpful and friendly when I entered GymBox (next to Bank station). He checked in with me later on to see if I needed anything and really made me feel comfortable. I’m really looking forward to coming back now!

Good gym however the layout was not for me (it's located in an old bank building so interesting to see the vault space!) and it was quite small.

I’ve been a Gymbox member for 5+ years originally at E&C, now using Bank as my home club. Every time I walk in to the building I’m always greeted by incredibly friendly staff, especially Jamie, who will never fail to greet me with a smile and a conversation, and he’s normally able to gee me up on those days I’m really not feeling it! Overall, very happy I switched to Bank.

Out of all the Gymbox's around London I have been to, Gymbox BANK has some lovely staff. Always there to help, no hesitation to get stuck in and an extremely friendly atmosphere when entering the gym. I was greeted by one of the reception staff Jamie and he was an exceptional help and very positive/happy. Thank you Gymbox bank - I will be returning to start up my full time membership very soon!

Top rate gym. The staff are always engaged and on point. The class teachers are second to none and absolute leaders in their field. Towels are provided and all areas are always clean. This gym is very well kitted out. However, each as it’s own feel so worth seeing which of their gyms is best for you; in many cases the decision is based on which is closer for your needs.

  • 3/5 Arnie L. 2 years ago on Google
THe gym is great, the equipment is great. The staff, I have never been a great fan. PTs have some very questionnable experience which makes it difficult for a new gym goer to identify the talented PT (they are some at Gymbox) . Also keep in mind the company runs a business for money, not a business for customer satisfaction. you can feel that at many levels

  • 4/5 Kizzy P. 9 months ago on Google
Simple inconsistencies are what turn a state of the art facility into a Good or just average one. Why does GYMBOX expect its new members to psychic? What do they have against signs in their gyms, especially when it’s a large multi- floor facility. Great facility, got lost trying to find my way around so it goes from brilliant to just good for me.

  • 5/5 Jasmine J. 5 months ago on Google
I love this gym and have been going to this specific branch for years. The facilities are great, the staff are friendly and the gym is always clean. Whilst I have heard great things about the PTs generally, I can personally say that I had a really fun experience when training with Chevaun Thomas and really saw the difference.

I’ve been going to Gymbox bank since April 23, really love the space and the overall vibes. All the staff members are super friendly and helpful, but a special shout-out to Laura who has been my PT for months and made going to the gym such an enjoyable experience! Also shoutout to the reception staff who are always so lovely in the mornings !!!

I like to come to this branch of Gymbox as it’s the only one in the chain whose sauna is actually hot! Nice free weights room in the basement which has everything I need. I’ve been working with PT Jay Izzet here for nearly 6 months on calisthenics and mobility, really knows his stuff and revealed just how inflexible my body has always been - I’m now close to being able to do a free-standing handstand thanks to his training. Good gym for anyone serious about fitness

Been going to gymbox for years and it has everything you want from a gym. There are always trainers around to help and provide guidance, particularly Chevy, who is great, knowledgeable and really professional. Training with him has really pushed me and given me a new confidence in the gym. I would highly recommend the personal training with him!

  • 5/5 Katherine W. 5 months ago on Google
Great gym, lots of equipment, fun vibes and friendly staff. I have been having PT sessions with Chevy who I couldn’t recommend enough. He has taken all of my goals into account and has a long term outlook. Since working with him I have lost 2-3 dress sizes and 2 stone, have way less gym anxiety and have gained a whole lot of fitness and confidence, all while keeping my life going and not cutting anything out. He’s an absolute gem.

It is not a gym to go. Honestly, they don’t deserve to be in business because of their policies. I have been victim of mis selling their services. They made me sign a contract without providing critical information that you need to provide one month notice even when you join for a day. Can you believe it?? I complained against senseless policy because I was unable to go any classes (always booked) and dark theme gym. I end up paying one and half month notice for joining them for 2 weeks. I don’t have enough resources to challenge them legally otherwise I won’t have settled for it. They literally mentally harassed me for one month notice. I request everyone to boycott such gym and gym owners. @richard Hilton: You will never find loyal customers.

Thanks for commenting. Great gym. Amazing equipment and classes. Very helpful and friendly staff. If there was anything to comment on, it's the lighting. But only in a couple areas where it's pretty dark. Haven't quite got the best eyesight in the world, but normally I don't need glasses on the gym floor. However, I do when at Bank. Other than that, you can't go wrong with Gymbox Bank.

Great gym, great set up, particularly a fan of the frame area. Not my home gymbox but happy to make the effort to travel each week to attend Andrew Julien's Caveman class on Wednesday, one of the best on the schedule and worth travelling a few extra stops for.

A fantastically well equipped gym in the heart of the city and extremely well priced given what other gyms charge. The lifting platforms and quality of bars/ plates are of a particularly high standard (Eleiko) and the gym vibe has more character and quirks than every other gym in the vicinity. Worth a visit, and definitely worth your monthly fee.

I love Gymbox - I have been to a variety around London, but bank is my home Gymbox. The people who onboarded me were lovely and I got a free PT session included. From there I took regular PT sessions with Andre Brun, which was great. Gymbox offers pole dancing, which is one of the things that really attracted me to the gym. Also, the gym isn't very busy even in peak times - it's big enough for many people to do what they want. It's a gym that might be more costly, but soooo worth it. I also kept getting emails from my account manager reminding me to use my free friend vouchers, so I could take a friend to a class for free. I have now cancelled my 12-month contract as I am moving away from London because of changed circumstances - they were very good about this and cancelled my contract without any issues. Great communications and support. I am going to miss GymBox with all my heart.

As an instructor for Gymbox I absolutely love teaching my classes at Bank club. Clients are so lovely. Hard working and they like to get that challenge out of every workout. Overall energy of the club are awesome and you get that support and professionalism as soon as you step in from any person part of the team. I enjoy so much teaching my Pilates class on a Thursday 12:00pm as it give me the chance to be creative and to bring happiness out of the participants to carry through their day.

This is a great gym - spacious, friendly and well equipped. I have tried out a few of the gyms in the area and this is definitely the best for weight training, the PTs are friendly and helpful and the place has a good atmosphere.

Recently joined. Fantastic facilities, tonnes of free weights & awesome classes. Olivia signed me up - she was really helpful and friendly. They offer a great NHS discount!

Save youre money, oversubscribed, if your planning on training during your lunch hour of after work forget it; you'll have no chance of getting on any equipment. Building services are always out of service seems like at least once a month leaving you to train in the smaller not so well equiped Cannon street branch. Equipment generally in poor condition or missing such as boxing bags which have not been replaced in months...I could go on but you get the gist of it not worth £100/month

Great Facility but zero clarity from staff when selling you an alleged 'fixed term' package about the exit clauses. No follow up communication from staff when members don't tap into the gym for a lengthy period of time (because they thought their contract had ended!) which shows that you don't care about your members, only the money. The fact that pricing and details are not posted on the website also speaks volumes.

Busy, not enough space, split on multiple levels and too many rooms.

Fantastic Space!!! Front of house staff super friendly. Vibe is very cool and facilities are brilliant. I was here in November for an Indoor cycling certificate with Melissa Power which was not only a lot of fun but wonderfully informative and professional ! Highly recommended!

The gym itself is ok. Does the job but there are a lot of people that take themselves incredibly seriously and a lot of drinking weird concoctions in the changing rooms! My issue is that Gymbox have twice taken money off me this month when this should have ceased at the beginning of December as I gave notice in November. This has all been confirmed by Gymbox. They returned one payment but still have £89 of my money 3 weeks later. They said they would transfer it but for some reason it would take 5 to 10 days, yet they still haven't even managed that!  I want my money back but god knows if I will ever get it

No hot water or aircon in the gym for almost a month. (January 2020) Their best offering in terms of compensation is guest gym passes. I followed up to say this wasn't acceptable as why should members pay full price for a gym without basic facilities?! Their response is basically... there is no further negotiation. 1. This doesn't benefit me as I'd never buy these in the first place 2. Why would I want to bring guests along to a gym with no air con?! Gymbox is all good if things are going right, but terrible gym if they go wrong. Would no longer recommend.

A clean well organised gym with a timetable of very good classes and instructors. They set high standards for themselves. I made a comment recently about music content which was addressed promptly. I recommend the gym to my friends.

Best Gym in the City. The best instructor there is Andrew Julien who does the Caveman class on Wednesdays at 12:15pm. He always has high energy and makes the class interesting. Caveman is definitely not a class to miss!!!

Great Gym Good facilities But biggest appeal for me is Andrew Julian's Caveman Class it's the perfect time of the week. Wednesday 1215pm u know the week is drawing to a close you could slack off but no not with his High Energy constantly switching up his routine and challenging u to get those gains. A great coach with knowledge of what he is teaching you.
