Thanks for the hospitality. The gym is impressive and opening hours very flexible. The coach was friendly. I would like to drop in again soon. For first timers it might be a bit intimidating I guess as it seemed there was not much time for technique. But if you have practised before, it should be fine.

Tom's a strong and engaged coach. I dropped in while on vacation at his well-appointed rented space inside a Gym Box. He's got all the necessary equipment to run a good class, but more importantly, he's a well-trained CrossFit coach, able to see where you need improvement. Really nice guy and he's attracted a good group of athletes around him. Highly recommended.

I did the open with City Road this year. They were really friendly, supportive and fun. If you want to do CrossFit, City Road would be a great place to join.

FANTASTIC! Coaches are second to none with bundles of knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and encouragement. Members are not just strangers in a gym class together, they have formed a community, cheering each other on and pushing each other to reach their goals. Being part of a leading gym means there are great facilities and changing area.

Highly engaging, a comprehensive programme run by motivated (and motivating) coaches with a wealth of experience. Not another anonymous gym class: the coaching has been able to address members as individuals, to define goals and achieve progressive results. City Road has created a serious (but fun) community of individuals with a wide range of abilities - from absolute beginners to budding athletes. Coaches are also interested in what you do outside of the gym, organising social/sporting challenges and extending their advice to diet and lifestyle. Great for forgetting about work and learning to do new things, safely and confidently, whilst getting stronger and fitter.

Was in London for a conference and found CrossFit City Road - so I just walked in the the gym and found Vasos, who was really friendly and took time to talk training, checked my level and welcomed me. I then booked online and got a speedy reply from Tom, and I got a session for free (just had to pay the hosting gym). I go to a large box in Stockholm, Crossfit Nordic, and I have seen that gym grow from a small family of devotees to a larger box, and I got the same feeling here at CrossFit City Road: Passionate coaches and committed members with a strong team feeling. Great coaching and a tough WOD, just what I needed after a few days of hard work (and too much good food). I am planning more trips to London so I will try and come back. I really liked the -no-problem-attitude to us visiting!

First and foremost, I am very grateful to City Road Crossfit for helping me to continue on with the Open (18.3 in particular) while traveling on business. Everything was relaxed and easy. The workout was quickly validated (in spite of my performance) without issue. The coach for my class, DJ, was great, patient and hospitable. City Road Crossfit should be no problem for drop-ins provided you can handle the different environment and can go with the flow. This isn't a dedicated Crossfit box, and the atmosphere is not unlike a fitness nightclub (this is the only reason for the 4 stars.) However, the space (massive) and equipment (plentiful) easily facilitate most Crossfit WODs, strength training, olympic lifting, cardio work and even martial arts. I love a gym that can let you do a burn out heavy bag session after strength and conditioning. I will definitely be making use of City Road on future trips to London. Next time I may even pack my Muay Thai gear!

Tom and BJ are the best coaches in town! They've built up a team of extremely knowledgeable coaches with Vasos and Emma as well. You'll learn loads be challenged and workout with a very social bunch of CrossFitters. Not only is their coaching the best in town so is their programming and now they are blogging on food:) so you're always learning. Yep the cost is high for crossfit but the change to your lifestyle and well-being is invaluable. If you are looking to do crossfit in London choose CFCR you won't regret it!

Quality coaching, quality people. The coaches are masters of their craft, the members are friendly and the facilities are amongst the best in London. Whatever your level, highly recommended.

I really enjoyed dropping into this facility.. Tom (coach) was super from the get go!! The facility was great, the class was challenging but nothing too intimidating.. All in all, one of the best drop ins and i'll definitely go again whilst I'm in the city!
