Luck of straw with this one as there are quite a lot of 5 star reviews. Was placed in a disabled room for some reason although I'm a 5'11 with a muscular build. Was only here for a day so thought nothing of it, especially looking at the price considering I've been in worse rooms. Also not the first time I've been given a disabled room for the night. Just so you are aware, I do not have a disability and I didn't claim to have one. Bathtub and toilet were quite difficult to use. Toilet handle really needed force to flush so guessing someone with a disability would have a hard time with it. Room was super dark, with no natural lighting and no bright lights. Was literally the darkest room I've ever slept in! Was crazy. Lost my glasses for 20 minutes funny enough it was that dark. Room was big though because of the bathroom so that was an advantage. Biggest room I've ever had for the price. Not exactly a 7 day stay but for 1-3 days it's alright. Plus side was the fact that there are so many places to eat within walking distance 😋

Great hotel. Almost 2/3-50% cost of the others. Modern, clean, fresh, great bar area in lobby with leather armchairs. You can bring in food from deliveroo (at the time of this writing) as they have no kitchen other than buffet breakfast. My regular stay!

Hotel Motel One’s location is just perfect! Quite near to Aldgate and Tower Hill tube stations (Train stations). There is bus stop just outside the hotel entrance which makes the travelling a breeze. Both the train and buses in London literally connects you to where you want to go! Hotel staff were quite polite and the housekeeping staff are quite good. The room was daily serviced and kept clean. The heating and hot water supply never had any issues. The view from the hotel is also nice overlooking the city. Highly recommended 👍🏻

When you choose MotelOne for your hotel booking you do it consciously. Because you know exactly what you get for your money. That's how we've been doing it for years. Nevertheless we have been able to feel and see differences in the individual hotels all over the world. Here in London too but in a positive way. The service was very good! As soon as we checked in we were allocated a great corner room with a fantastic view after we had been booked into another room. A pleasant surprise. The rooms are very clean and in good condition and the room service made the room shine every day. The location of the hotel is also very good! With direct access to Aldgate underground station you can get to all parts of the city very quickly. We stayed there for four nights and had an all-round great stay. We would definitely recommend the hotel. See you again!

When you walk in to the reception you think "wow"! It's stylish and really looks the part. The check in was quick, efficient & carried out with a smile and a warm welcome. However, once you get beyond the lift & into your room, it all goes a bit downhill! Room was small and wasn't particularly well equipped (no iron & ironing board, no hair dryer) although there is a TV on the wall & Tea & Coffee making facilities. Breakfast is continental style & is taken in reception in the bar area which is a bit odd! Breakfast was good though, Croissants were excellent. It's ok for a one night stay, but I'm not sure I'd want to stay for longer.

Worst hotel in London. PLEASE AVOID. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Staff are absolutely disgusting, a complete mess. Shame on the management team, how can they let this be? On two instances I was checked in wrong, receptionist had to run upstairs to tell me she put me in the wrong room. What kind of service is that? One okay but two? Manager I spoke to needs to go back to training as she has no idea how to speak to people politely. Not even worth the money, just go somewhere better. Feels like the staff are too uncomfortable to engage with their clients. Sad that I have to spend my time writing this but everyone needs to know to avoid this hotel at all costs. In my opinion the hotel should be shut down and reevaluated. Would be nice to understand why the staff are so nasty and bad at their jobs.

Fabulous stay at Tower Hill Motel One as always. My go to place to stay in London whether it’s for business or pleasure (and let’s be honest it’s usually both 🤣). Love the ease of booking in the app, with the ability to change my mind till 6pm on the day with no charge. Lovely staff always prepared to go the extra mile (this is Joe who helped me during this stay). I love the competitive price, yet still get high end design. The bar is great for pre evening or late night after party drinks (and will keep serving till late late!). I’ve stayed now half a dozen times and will be back!!!

When reviewing a hotel, you obviously need to consider the type and length of your stay and your own personal requirements/expectations as well as the value you are receiving on that basis. A family of four spending a week in the city obviously has very different needs than a solo traveler who is only in town for one night. In light of that fact, when considered in the context of my own requirements (solo traveler, single night), this Motel One scored a perfect 5/5. Here's why: The location is great, it's around the corner from the bus station and Aldgate tube, close to City of London area and easily walkable. I arrived at 12 (so three hours before official check-in) and was greeted with a very friendly smile and immediately given a room. Obviously that's not guaranteed but it did start my stay off on the right foot. My room was small, but thanks to the hotel's German roots, space is used efficiently and the overall design is modern and not worn. Was also very clean, I'm a bit of a clean freak and I checked the room thoroughly, no large stains on the rug or obvious dirty areas anywhere. There are also plenty of outlets to charge devices. As usual, there's a kettle with free coffee crystals and tea. The bed was extremely comfortable as far as hotel beds go (I've slept in plenty) and featured four pillows OF DIFFERENT FIRMNESSES! Now that's a nice touch 😍 So I picked a firmer pillow for my head and soft one for between my legs (which is how I sleep nowadays 😆). It was also extremely well sound-proofed, I didn't hear anything the entire time I was in my room, neither from the street nor in the hotel itself. The rooms have A/C which actually works, I like to sleep with the room a bit on the cooler side, so I set it to my desired Celsius temp and it got cold fast 🥶 The shower has a handle where you set the temp, and the pressure was good enough (could have been a bit stronger to be fair, but overall was fine). So yeah...bed ✅, shower ✅, cleanliness ✅, A/C ✅, outlets ✅ And lastly: I paid £129 for a night! ✅ ✅ ✅ Absolutely incredible value - I was comparing hotel prices/reviews for hours and let me tell you, you will not find another hotel in the city that checks off all those boxes at that price! Period. I also booked basically a day in advance so this wasn't some special early bird deal or anything. Conclusion: For a solo traveler or maybe couple that really just needs a nice bed and a hot shower for a shortish stay and will not be spending too much time in the room, absolutely phenomenal.

This hotel is located in such a good location and has amazing possessions, despite the small size. I was going to stay here and I didn’t think it was going to be that good; however, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The front desk receptionists are incredible and helpful. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are small but very comfy, they have a good amount of storage space. The only thing missing is a telephone, but other than that, the rooms are phenomenal. The breakfasts are incredible and they even have complimentary water throughout the day; they also have cute MotelOne candies at the front desk, very sweet. Throughout the day, you can also order drinks and snacks in comfortable areas in the lobby, and the lobby was also well designed and beautiful. Overall, I do recommend this hotel for anyone planning a stay in London.

Spent a couple nights here are the beginning of my trip to London. We arrived at peak check in time, so the front desk were busy trying to get everyone checked in as fast as possible. While we had to wait about 10 minutes, I was impressed with how focused and hard working the staff were to make everything go smoothly. Our room was good. Shower was hot with good pressure. Room was clean and AC worked well. We had a lovely view from room 516. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. There was not a lot of space to store luggage - but we improvised. Not uncommon for European hotel rooms. What we really appreciated was how quiet the room was. We never heard another guest or any noise from the street during our stay. It was a lovely little quiet oasis. We would have no problem staying here again or recommending it to others.

I didn't stay in Motel One London but stayed in the one in Munich, which I love for its excellent service. Upon arriving in London, I had some technical issues (phone died, no data, etc.) and couldn't get to my original destination and went to Motel One for help. Although I arrived very late (1 am) the staff (front desk and f&b) was very welcoming, forward, understanding and immediately helped me with my miserable situation. Excellent service, good connection to public transport, lovely interior - definitely considering staying here the next time I'm in London.

This establishment is quaint yet refined, providing the consistent standard one anticipates from its global reputation. Its location is rather splendid, positioning one right at the heart of the action. The breakfast, whilst satisfactory, lacked the traditional English touch and the variety was a tad limited. The coffee, regrettably, wasn’t to my palate. Notably, there’s a significant German-speaking clientele. The rooms are fairly uniform in design, differing mainly in the views they afford. Each room comes equipped with a hairdryer and both British and German sockets. The complimentary Wi-Fi is quite robust and dependable. The staff are courteous, and one must commend the impressive water pressure in the showers. On the whole, the hotel is ‘decent enough’. However, one does get the sense that there might be comparably priced establishments offering a smidge more. Nonetheless, a perfectly acceptable stay!

Stayed back in July. Ideal location in London for my purposes: 20 minute walk to/from Tobacco Dock (where my work conference was), short stroll to Tower Bridge and Tower of London for some lovely Thames views, close to at least two tube stations and near many dining options of various price points. The reception staff were very nice and helpful, and I was able to store my bag with them on my check out day so I didn't have to lug it with me to the last day of my conference. My one tiny "complaint" is that the room was a bit cramped. It's the first hotel room I've stayed in for a long time that didn't have a proper space for me to roll out my yoga mat. (But I made it work!) Otherwise, the room was great: well-decorated, great bathroom and shower, fab city view, and a really comfy bed.

We were super impressed with the Motel One brand. The staff was helpful as we dropped our luggage for the day. The hotel has a hoppin', designer lobby. The breakfast is top notch. The room was comfortable. (The only fault we could find: the shower floor is slick - it needs traction.) We will seek out Motel Ones whenever we travel now. Motel One, please come to America!

Cute quaint small boutique hotel. No dining room or dinner. They did have a breakfast that was pretty good. I would suggest eating out vs buying the breakfast there bc there are so many great places right around the hotel. Walking distance to the Sky Garden and Crown Jewels. You can hop on the toot bus and go to any of the main sites. The rooms are small and we couldn’t find a fan for the bathroom so it gets super steamy. Rooms are clean and service was great. I was only here for 2 night so it wasn’t too bad.

Good prices, quick and hassle-free check-in/out, serene location, immaculate cleanliness, and well-equipped amenities, although the hotel's distance from the city center requires extra time and budget for transportation, and the rooms are on the smaller side with non-openable windows. Overall, a satisfactory stay.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Rooms are clean and modern, and the location is excellent with a nearby tube station. I've stayed here multiple times and cannot fault it at all.

Good location, comfortable, and does the job. Room was clean and reasonably spacious. Breakfast was ok, nothing wrong but nothing standout about it.

The rooms are tiny and don't have a desk for working. The street on front of the hotel is not busy at night. Hence, the rooms are quiet. The breakfast buffet is decent for the price. And the lobby has places to meet and ha e a drink or discuss with business partners. The location is great if you have business in the City.

A nice clean hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel is close to tower bridge and some underground stations so handy for everything if you were a tourist. The breakfast buffet was actually quite good as well, including some vegetarian options. Would definitely stay here again if the rate was a good price. Thanks

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. This site will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the best in the area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you won't be disappointed. Lovely welcome by receptionist. Room was a good size and v. clean with city view out. Nice seating lobby area. Would definitely stay again, if we got a good price like this time, as booked quite a way in advance.

Absolutely loved this hotel located on Tower Hill near Aldgate Station. Fantastic rooms with spectacular views of East End London. The staff were professional and friendly. My only feedback is for a desk chair, not an Ottoman and a stand to place your suitcase and extra hanging space.. other than that, it was nearly perfect!

Had a great 6 night stay with my 13yo daughter. The rooms are nice & comfy with kettle, tea & coffee. We were on the 11th floor with a nice city view. Bed very comfortable, shower/toilet very clean. Loved the "fire-place on TV" as you enter the room. Breakfast was great with a good selection to choose from for every palate. The staff were super-friendly and inviting. The hotel is a 3 min. walk to Aldgate tube station and 6 min. to Tower-Hill station so very convenient to get everywhere needed. Rooms have AC. Overall a very good value for money. I would definitely consider staying again!

Perfect location close to Tower Bridge. This modern hotel is well priced and offers just what you need for a short stay. Rooms are very compact, so not fit if you need to work a lot from the hotel. No gym .

  • 4/5 Gill N. 1 year ago on Google
Room was very clean and bright but on the small side. The location made up for that, though and the bed was very comfortable. 1 min walk from Aldgate tube station and about 6 mins from Tower Hill. Great location for exploring the City of London. They held our luggage in the secure storage for a few hours after we checked out. I'd definitely stay here again.

Hotel Motel One is a great place to stay if you want to discover London. It's close to the London Tower and the Tower Bridge. It's also very close to the Tower Hill metro station, which connects to the central metro lines. The rooms are cleaned regularly and have the essentials. Beds sleep good and the bathroom is nice. Nothing fancy and not that big though. Breakfast is nothing special.

Great location, really clean and good sized rooms for the price. Well stocked bar for a nightcap and really friendly staff. Didn’t opt in for breakfast but went to Peter’s cafe around the corner which was lovely and just opposite Aldgate station. 10/10!

  • 5/5 Cloud 1 year ago on Google
Not the biggest rooms but very clean, good service and excellent location. Perfect to explore the city and really great value for money. It's the perfect hotel if you want to go out and see things not so much if you want a lot of time resting and chilling out.

Another great travelers treat low on thrills, but handy to know about if stopping or passing through the city, the location is perfect for those site seeing that area of London and so handy for some of the restaurants in that area too. Potentially struggling with staff like so many other places so be sure to be patient, kind and understanding with the team. My room needed some TLC and decorating I feel but it was comfortable enough for what I needed it for. 👏🏼
