👍👍 This gym has a high energy club-like atmosphere, great equipment and dedicated staff. Classes are also of great quality and worth every pence. This branch is smaller than Holborn and Bank, but still very much at the same level. I like working out in the evenings as it's when they have a DJ performin... Membership been frozen since covid started up till end of December 2020 and I have moved away from London since. however, they demand to charge one more month to cancel the membership even though there is no possibility to use the gym as well as membership been frozen due to covid and their closures. Should have cancelled even earlier but guess they would charge full month membership even when they were closed. Extremely disappointed and certainly not recommending.

This gym has a high energy club-like atmosphere, great equipment and dedicated staff. Classes are also of great quality and worth every pence. This branch is smaller than Holborn and Bank, but still very much at the same level. I like working out in the evenings as it's when they have a DJ performing live. What you should be careful with: read your contract and know what your options are if you need or ever want to cancel your membership, as you may have to give them a month's notice. Also know that it's not super easy to sign up for classes, and you will have to figure out when classes become available for booking so you can be the first to sign up. Wish you all the best in your fitness journey! 💪

Locked me into a 3 month contract which was fine as I was only in London for 3 more months so it worked out well. This was until after the 3 months they kept trying to bill my card, so after I cancelled my direct debit I received numerous emails over the months that I owed them money. Apparently you have to give a 30 days cancellation notice (aka if you want to only do 3 months you have to let them know you want to cancel 2 months in). Ended up being passed onto a third party debt collection agency and was threatened to go to court over £104. Ridiculous business plan as the gym was actually quite good. Not helpful when you’re a student and don’t have much money as it is. Greedy

Worst experience ever 1) please be aware that classes are overbooked and you will not have chance to visit any of them 2) they didn’t warn me of it before the purchase and after customer support keep saying it is impossible to friz/cancel my membership even that I never used it 3) when I finally had chance to book a class that I really wanted to a week prior - they added me 1 hour before the class to the list and I basically missed this (because I am human and I have other plans in my life). So because of this miss they rid me out of the next class. Absolutely disappointed from the first day and having awful experience all this days without a chance to use the the gym I don’t know guys why are you doing this to customers

The classes are excellent with wonderful instructors, allows me to explore lots of different skills and types of training! The gym itself could be a little bigger and more comprehensive but it serves its purpose well. It's not cheap but it's fantastic value for money if you utilise it's classes, the classes individually would be significantly more expensive per month. The staff and community are incredibly friends and polite and are free to chat and assist consistently!

AVOID at all costs. In a nutshell: purchased the 1 month option just yesterday, the moment I sign in I realise all classes are completely booked for the entire week. Literally all of them. Basically every day at 10am they will release the booking for the same day of the next week, which means that if you don’t book at 10am exactly you will very likely miss the chance to book. I guess if you work, like we all do, it’s fairly impossible to book a class at 10am every day. With that being said, I got in touch with the support team the same day of the purchase asking for either a partial or full refund as classes were the only reason for me to join. I told them that I would never use the gym, as everything is fully booked, and explained that would it would have been impossible to know this prior to the purchase (as you are not able to see the classes capacity). Now, obviously there are policies to respect etc, but, any reasonable customer service/company would try to meet the customer halfway at least. I got in touch with the customer service: they said I can’t get ANY of the money back and that I will be charged again in November as well, for a service that I cannot basically use. When I replied they DISAPPEARED and never got back to me again. This is just ridiculous, one of the WOST customer service EVER.

Great little gym with everything you need for a powerlifting or weightlifting workout. 3+ racks, plenty of bars and plates, and areas for deadlifting. Loads of dumbbells too. Plenty of treadmills, bikes, and other cardio machines as needed. A reasonable £20 drop in rate for a day pass.

I don't even know where to start. The lack of space for free weight, machines and squat racks means that area is crowded all the time while most of the cardio machines are often unused. Gymbox should seriously redesign this gym to reflect what their customers come for: mainly weight training, not cardio. People constantly walk right behind you on your marked safety zone when using the racks which is very dangerous and disturbing but it's hard to blame them as there is no space to walk around without making a huge detour because it's always packed! Some PTs really take up so much space at peak times and don't put their equipments away, so disrespectful! As a result of all this, you get asked constantly how many sets you have left when using anything other than a cardio machine. In the summer, the air con never works properly and it's boiling in there. Stuff breaks regularly and doesn't get replaced for a while (cables, steps, showers hot water and sauna, air con, clocks, system...). I could go on and on but to summarise, Gymbox has managed to turn going to the gym into a very stressful experience where you have to fight to get/keep a space and have to constantly adapt and change your routine depending on what's available.

So I joined the gym and it's fine, not great but I got what you need. However, the pricing for the gym is just entirely made up. I joined with my partner so we could train together and her offer was £35 per month less than mine for the same service, £79 vs £113 for access to all UK Gymboxes. When I asked why I was expected to pay £420 per year more than her for the same service I was told because I joined slightly before her. I don't know why we need to play this stupid game to get a fair deal, but it has entirely soured my relationship with this gym.

Loved loved loved it when first joined a couple months back but too crowded these days. I workout at peak times so jokes on me (!) but recently been worse than usual. Takes ages to do normal workouts and equipment more often than not scattered all over the gym floor. :/

I popped in twice while on a recent vacation, and this is such a great location! Steps away from the Old St station. Friendly staff and great selection of workout machines. On one of my visits I did the Bike & Beats class with Rachel, who was AMAZING. Super helpful while showing me how to use the bike as it was one I've never used before. Definitely recommend.

Pros: Generally good equipment and classes. Staff are friendly. I prefer house music to the UK top 40 like most other gyms. Changing rooms are very large. Sauna is good. Cons: Not enough space or equipment, particularly for weightlifting. Cardio machines are mostly empty but I often have to wait 10-15 minutes to get a bench or squat rack. Very frustrating. Stretching area is tiny. Frequently see people come over to stretch, see how busy it is, and just leave. Lack of space and equipment makes it not a welcoming atmosphere for women (speaking for my girlfriend who I train with). Changing rooms are unpleasantly cold all year round.

I’m new to the gym so I was a little nervous however they were quickly washed away when I saw Drew at the front desk. His ease and people skills really gave me the comfort I needed to feel confident. That’s why I love going to gymbox, because of people like him that are there every day ( 6AM) encouraging me to be my best self.

I promised myself I would join a gym this year. So I've been on the look out and GymBox won. Their classes are so unique - just the variety had me. But what sold me in the end is the great customer service I received from Isla at GymBox Old Street. She was very helpful.

One of the best gyms I’ve signed up to, the classes that are available within the membership are amazing within itself so I’d recommend this gym to anyone without a doubt💪💪 amazing atmosphere inside as well and amazing equipment where you can work out in different areas so that you have a lot of space for yourself

The absolute worst thing about the gym is in the morning with the smell of freshly baking croissants and pastries from M&S wafting down the stairwell. While you are pedaling away furiously on the assault bike - or Devil's Tricycle to give it it's more appropriate name - for 20 minutes only to glance down and realise you have burnt off the calorie equivalent of a wotsit, let alone enough to allow you a mouthful of buttery pastry goodness, you know you are most likely stuck in one of Dante's infernal circles.

Nice gym. Was very crowded at 0730am and for the weights not enough stations - mostly one of a kind. Good and warm service + towels and locker. Did not try the showers.

Overall a nice looking gym with a wide selection of equipment. Some of the classes here (gassed) are over subscribed (not enough space for everyone to work out properly), and this can be frustrating. The spin classes are ok, and the sauna is an added bonus, although this has been out of order recently.

Not too crowded, with all the facilities you need. Plus they have lots of wipes everywhere to prevent Covid transmissions.

Best thing I ever signed up for- literally go 4/5 times a week because it’s such a joy to work out here. Love all the classes- Melissa Powers Reppin then Hardcore classes on Tuesday night are the best. You could just do her classes and nothing else and still see amazing results!

Remy is fantastic Energetic Passionate and pushes you to be the best you can be..... When he is facilitating his class I feel like a super hero. Completely changed my life. James at the front desk(two earrings) is also so welcoming and professional. Occasionally the music is not censored so it’s unpleasant to here foul language while working out. Also no one checks in with you and says how’s it going etc I have NEVER been shown how to use any equipment for the price this seems odd.

This gym is in my top 3 in London! Maybe is not that big as other locations but is so well organised that it’s comfortable and easy to find what you looking for. Friendly and helpful staff! Definitely place to go!

Overall, a good experience at this gym. But there are some things they need to work on: 1) At peak times, particularly in the morning, it can be way too busy. And it’s not a big space. This is primarily because there’s always a class on, using the big room at the back. It’d be good if they reduced the number of classes or moved their times, because the few who do classes are impacting those who don’t. Sometimes the class users even come out to try and jump in rowers, bike, etc (Thu class) and look mad when there’s non available. Classes ruin this gym - move times! 2) Showers remain terrible. Horribly dated shower heads which spray weak water in lots of different directions. This is the same across all Gymbox branches. If you’re expecting a premium shower experience (which is what you pay for), you’ll be disappointed. 3) Some equipment could do with refurbishment or replacement. Annoyingly this branch doesn’t have the good Technogym treadmills so you can’t do anything like parachute or sled pushing which that treadmill offers. Please consider adding one or two of these!! (Found in E&C, Covent Garden, etc)
