One of the best fitness decisions I ever made was joining Roar Fitness. As someone who is trying to reduce the state of my physical grandeur, you can only imagine how important it is to have a personal trainer who can simply be described as the best of the best. His name is Jack Byron. He is one of the most knowledgeable folk in the personal training business and has a wonderful way of getting me through the training session and actually making me look forward to my next session. And most importantly, after 12 sessions, new clothes for my wardrobe! Thank you Jack!

Half way through my 12 week body transformation course at Roar, which has been a brilliant experience. Luke and Tom have been incredibly supportive throughout and I’m thrilled with the results (would have been pleased to have ended up where I am now after the full 12 weeks!). Well worth the investment - I’m confident that what I’m learning about training and nutrition will stick with me well after the 12 week course is complete and help me to live a much healthier lifestyle on an ongoing basis.

Joining Roar has been one of the best decisions of my life. Great support from whole team, especially from Craig, my coach. He’s always pushing me over my limits and after 10 weeks I can definitely see the results. Also, he makes the workouts lots of fun! The nutrition program is excellent. Thank you, Luke, for your guidance. What can I say?! This has been a very enjoyable experience, and I’m definitely going to continue after the first 12 weeks. Thank you again, Craig, Luke and team!!

Roar has really changed my life progressively. I started over the summer and since then I have gain so much confidence in working out, eating well and general well being. Vik, my trainer is everything and more. He is patient, informed and makes working out fun which is very welcomed early in the morning. He listens to my body and pushes me in the most realistic way possible, whilst ensuring he teaches me what he is doing and why. If you need to make a change in your life, invest in ROAR and make sure you ask for Vik!

Working with Roar was a complete life changing event. Fitter, stronger and leaner in a matter of a few sessions and I’m still seeing regular, visible improvements. My coach, Craig Laurencin, has been supportive and encouraging throughout. Always pushing me to go further but always in a positive, calm and friendly manner. His expert knowledge of anatomy and sports science is vast and adds great value to the whole experience. Highly recommended!

I'm just entering the last few weeks of my 12-week course at Roar. It has been such a good experience. I am stronger and healthier than I have ever been. My trainer, Gus, has been fantastic - pushes me every session and has been so fun to train with. The nutrition plan has also been so helpful and easy to follow. Matt has helped me with this, giving me such useful advice at every 3-week check-in. Thanks so much to the team. Everyone at Roar has been so friendly and I'd 100% recommend it!

This was my second time at Roar in 5 years. The results were impressive then so I trusted Roar would keep me on track to do it again. I had only 8 weeks to fit into (and feel confident in) a dress for my best friend’s wedding. I was assigned Jack Mayo as my trainer, with Matt on nutrition and I have loved every second of it! Jack Mayo is so supportive and has such a positive attitude which I felt was a great personality match and meant I always looked forward to training days. He’s super knowledgeable and imparts that wisdom in a way that’s memorable and easy to understand. Jack even adjusted my training when I injured my back (an injury unrelated to my training) ensuring I felt supported and I didn’t experience any pain. Matt kept me in check with my nutrition, making a plan that fit with my lifestyle and offered great advice and tips on how to navigate events during my plan such as my birthday. Now at the end of my 8 weeks I can say I’ve achieved everything I wanted. I look better, feel better and look forward to returning to it after the wedding!

ROAR is amazing and, if you can afford it and need a boost to get into a good fitness and nutritional routine, I’d definitely recommend it! Luke was my trainer and guided me on nutrition for 3 months - I highly recommend him! I think he has a great attitude, really gets the most from you and is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. I loved the tailored plans and tracker on the app so I could see my progression week on week as well as the regular calliper measurements - this was super motivating for me. My goals were really to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way and get my nutrition back to a more healthy balance. I achieved both these things in 3 months and have now renewed to maintain and build on this further. As a vegetarian, I did have to do a bit more research and planning around food than I originally expected but it actually worked in my favour as I now have a great grasp of how to create balanced meals for myself that fit within the macros I’m going for.

I’m currently 10 weeks into a 12 week program at Roar Monument and it has been a fantastic experience. Thanks to my trainer, Jack Byron, I’ve seen great results in both my strength & conditioning and the sessions always strike the right balance between being challenging and yet fun. On the nutrition front, Matt has done a great job of monitoring my diet and educating me on how to make healthier decisions with my eating for the long term. I can strongly recommend Roar to anyone who is serious about improving their health and fitness.

I started at Roar earlier this year, having never trained with weights before. With two young kids and a full time job, I hadn't been making a priority of my own health and fitness. I was really out of shape and generally not feeling great. I needed a lifestyle reset, and to start feeling and seeing the benefits fast.. This is exactly what I got at Roar. I lost over 4 kg in the first 3 weeks and a total of 17kg over the course of 15 weeks. I was surprised at how quickly I built strength, felt physically fitter, and so much happier in myself. I was also surprised that it wasn't at all awful to do! The gym (City branch) is a really nice place to come to and train. I've enjoyed the nutrition side of things (with thanks to Tom). And most importantly, my PT (Ben) has been the absolute best - massively supportive, very patient, always pushing me hard, and always fun to chat to. After completing my initial stint, I re-signed to continue training with Ben once a week, and started training on my own between our sessions - something I now feel empowered to do (and actually like doing!) thanks to his dedication to the cause! I can honestly say signing with Roar is one of the best decisions I've ever made, and to anyone else thinking about it, it's a hard recommend from me!

I joined Roar a few months ago and I can confidently say that this was one of the best investments I’ve ever made in myself. I was someone completely new to the gym and had no clue where to begin. Gus has been my PT and he is amazing. He knows when to push me and how to keep me going when I feel like I can’t go any harder. Tom has been on the nutrition and he is super knowledgeable. I also had Ella for 1 week cover and she was amazing! I’d recommend roar happily to anyone looking to have a lifestyle change and gain more confidence working out to feel stronger.

I started training with Ben at Roar in September and have been delighted with my progress so far. I’ve received tremendous support from him during, and outside of, our PT sessions and his encouragement has definitely helped me achieve more than I thought would be possible in this time. I feel challenged, but never defeated, as Ben knows when to push me and when to give me some breathing room. In addition to Ben, my nutritionist Luke has also been incredibly helpful, offering me advice and helping me to find solutions to dietary challenges that arise. The positivity at Roar is great and everyone seems to be genuinely enjoying their journey. For anyone who is considering joining, I would wholeheartedly recommend signing up, the investment in yourself is worth every penny.

I’ve been training at Roar City branch for just over four months - initially signing up for 3 months, but extending my sessions for a further two months due to the brilliant results achieved. I was lucky to be placed with Jay as my PT who has been a fantastic, insightful and motivating trainer. He has known when to push to get the results that I was looking for, while listening to specific concerns that I may have had. During the past 4 months, Jay has been reliable, is always on time and has ensured that we have had a clear plan to work to. Jay has ensured that I have got the most out of every session - so much so that I have lost 11kg, improved my nutrition, and reduced some of the bad habits that had accumulated over many years. When on the gym floor, Jay is considerate of his colleagues and their clients. He is diligent about leaving the equipment in a fit state and ready for use by others. The gym at Roar City branch is well equipped with a relaxed but focused atmosphere. I wouldn’t want to train with anyone else!

I signed up with Roar in May and worked with Ben Keith-Young (Trainer) and Matt Lindsay (Nutrition) over the past six months and they were phenomenal. It was hard work and Ben Keith-Young was a superb trainer whose professionalism, experience and motivation were incredible. I’ll likely be back for more punishment next summer!

  • 5/5 AC M. 1 year ago on Google
First review as this is something special. Have been at Roar for 6 weeks so far and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Whilst reasonably active, I’ve never used a PT before or monitored my nutrition. The results have been great - I’ve noticed a big change both physically and mentally in a pretty short space of time. Ben Keith-Young has been great to work with - always in good spirits and encouraging, which 7am me definitely needs! The atmosphere in the gym is excellent - diverse and supportive. Given it’s a pretty substantial investment of time and money, I thought long and hard before committing - so glad I did!

I can't speak highly enough about my experience at Roar, with Graig as my trainer and Matt for nutrition. It was genuinely life changing. I'd never lifted weights before joining, so went in with a fair amount of trepidation. I needn't worry though, as Roar welcomes people of all abilities. What I found was a really diverse, safe place to train, completely devoid of egos and judgement. If I could train with Craig forever, I genuinely would. He's once of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting, but knows when to push me ande hold me accountable. It's impossible to hate him... even on leg days. I've got some injuries that I need to manage, and he never fails to check on how I'm feeling, tailoring my program to ensure I don't injure myself. Matt has also given me great advice on how to adjust my diet to get the best out of my training. Nutrition is a massive part of this process, and he's always available to steer me in the right direction. As for the gym itself, it's great. Lovely staff at reception. Clean showers and changeroom. All the equipment you need, and because it's a PT-only gym you're rarely waiting for your turn. It takes a lot of willpower to make such a big lifestyle change, but with Craig and Matt on board I was set up for success from the very moment I signed up.

I signed up to Roar for a 3 month stint after piling on weight I just couldn’t shift with a goal of being in the best shape of my life for my big birthday. I got assigned to Gedas (training) and Matt (nutrition) who both believed in me, encouraged and helped me every step of the way to reach my goal. Trainings with Gedas who is a true taskmaster are challenging but so worth it. Not only I am 11kgs lighter but I am lifting now more than I ever imagined possible and have a new level of body and mind confidence. Regular trainings with G and following Matt’s nutrition advice allowed me to change my relationship with food and drink and have a healthy balance with my busy social life. Needless to say I resigned and continue my training with Gedas to maintain my top form.

I joined Roar back in April after deciding I need and change to my fitness routine. I have done various levels of training over the last 25 year from Martial Arts to Ironman at a competitive level. After years of wear and tear my body wasn't in the best condition.....I could pick up the smallest injury just from doing a body weight squat. This was one of the reasons for looking at strength training however at the same time this was a huge concern as I thought I would get injured very quickly. Thankfully I couldn't have been more wrong! From the first meeting with Luke Grahame he understood my concerns and was able to put me at ease straight away, which was no small feat considering the amount of injuries and niggles I have had. What's been even more reassuring is since day one of training with Luke he has always been mindful of the injuries I’ve had in the past, and not forgot one of them. Even to the point that he makes sure I don't push too hard even if I want too. Since training with Luke, not only has my physical appearance changed I feel so much better and stronger. I no longer feel like I’m falling apart and now have a lot more confidence again when doing any form of exercise. I could not recommend Luke and the Roar Family enough, not only if you want to transform but improve your overall health, strength, and conditioning.

I started at Roar a few weeks ago and cannot recommend it enough. For someone with very little experience and a busy working life, it has been the perfect introduction to getting fit and lifting weights with flexibility on timings. The results so far have been great - shout out to Jack who is a great PT, very motivational, and patient given my lack of experience (I highly recommend him). Matt has also been really helpful on the nutrition side, and I’ve never eaten healthier/better. The gym itself is never busy, all the equipment feels brand new, and has everything you could need. Best investment I’ve made for my fitness!

I joined Roar after Easter with a big birthday ahead of me, a busy job, kids at home and lots of juggling. 4 months later I'd lost lots of weight (15 kilos) and felt so much better in myself! Gedas, has been a great trainer, keeps me focused and lots of fun, really adaptable and been a huge motivation. I couldn't have done it without him! Matt was great with the nutrition advice as well. The gym is never too busy with lots of new equipment. Definitely recommended!

Joined Roar three months ago. And I was placed with Ben, Ben is an exceptional personal trainer who goes above and beyond to tailor workouts to individual needs. His motivational approach and expertise create an environment where clients feel supported and challenged. With Ben's guidance, I've achieved fitness goals I never thought possible. Highly recommended!

I've been training with Dan for a few weeks now, and the experience has been fantastic. My strength has improved noticeably, and I'm looking forward to going to the gym. Dan's encouraging personality shines through; he's always attentive and ready to modify the exercises to my body's demands. I'm looking forward to the forthcoming sessions and can't wait to see how far we progress!

I started earlier this year on a 3 month programme (3x a week) with my trainer at Roar, Daniel Boyce. Working with Daniel has yielded great results, and has been a real pleasure. Aside from tailoring a great regime for me personally, he is extremely flexible and adaptable in terms of working with my routine which can vary a great deal from week to week. Besides this, the gym is clean and lovely to use, the location (Bank) is extremely convenient, and the whole business is smooth and efficiently run. I have no hesitation in recommending Roar and Dan, and look forward to continuing with them in the future!

A lot of places that offer personal training offer "results" but what really made the experience at Roar with personal trainer Craig stand out is that the process of getting the results was made as enjoyable as possible! It was a really great experience and I would recommend him personally, and Roar, to anyone. Nutritionist Matt was also great, answering any questions I had very promptly and providing great guidance along the way.

I've had a great experience with Roar. The team have all been excellent. I've trained with Jake, who has understood my goals, pushed me hard to achieve results which I thought were impossible. Just generally an all round great place to train.

I TRAINED WITH KARI AND SHE WAS GREAT. A GOOD MIX OF FIRM / PUSHING ME - WHILST STILL BEING KIND & ACCEPTING OF THE LEVEL I WAS AT. I WAS ABLE TO LOSE WEIGHT & GAIN STRENGTH. THANKS ROAR & KARI

I have been training with Kari at Roar for nearly 12 weeks now and she has been absolutely amazing. Having worked with a few PTs before, Kari is a breath of fresh air. She makes training fun, challenging and most importantly, rewarding. We are always making progress and working towards my goals. I couldn’t recommend Kari more highly as a PT !!

Highly recommended! I was really sorry to stop training with Tania at Roar Fitness Kensington High Street gym. I've had 3-4 personal trainers over the years, and the trainers here are in a different league. I reached my target weight in 4 months and their dietary advice is excellent. You have to be committed and put in the work, but it is easy with the support they offer.

I joined Roar Fitness almost 3 months ago after struggling with my weight and lack of exercise during lockdown. Having never done weight training or working with a personal trainer, I was very nervous about how my 12 weeks at Roar was going to be. However, having Nicolle as my PT has been amazing and I couldn't be anymore pleased! Nicolle has kept me motivated, been patient and encouraging about what I can achieve while teaching me so much! Not only have I seen a positive change to my weight and growing stronger while training with Nicolle, my mental health has also improved significantly. Which was a very important goal for me. Pleased to say I will continue to train at Roar with Nicolle after my 12 weeks are up! Everyone is very welcoming and friendly!!

  • 5/5 Antonia B. 2 years ago on Google
I have been training with Nicolle for around 2 months and could not recommend her and the Roar team more highly. I have been an on and off gym person but always shied away from weight training as I had no idea what I was doing. Nicolle has been amazing at being encouraging, motivating and patient and I am really pleased with how much I have learnt in a short time. Roar is a far more positive training environment than I have experienced before, facilities are great and all of the team really friendly making it a very enjoyable place to train. I could not recommend more!

  • 5/5 B K. 2 years ago on Google
Having completed a 12 week programme with Nicolle I can honestly say I cannot recommend her enough. Nicolle is professional and amazing at what she does. I have learnt how to train on my own and what exercises to complete and how to progress the weights too. It has been amazing after lockdown and had huge health benefits in addition to achieving my body goals. Also fantastic is Matt for nutrition as he guided me at every step as to what food would help achieve my goals. Thank you to everyone at Roar.

Fantastic experience and brilliant coaches! My coach was Craig who pushed me far beyond what I thought I could do, hard work but worth the push, I would definitely recommend Craig but make sure you go with a positive attitude as he works you hard! ROAR is a great gym and everyone makes you feel welcome, thank you to everyone who contributed to my amazing experience!

I signed up to Roar Fitness as someone who was terrified of the gym and had very little knowledge of what I needed to do to get the results I wanted - my experience so far has been life changing and I cannot recommend it enough!! My trainer Craig is an amazing trainer and has a wealth of knowledge, but more importantly he is supportive, encouraging, knows when I need to be pushed and we always have a great laugh each session. It genuinely is like spending an hour with a good friend which makes the workout a lot more enjoyable. I can’t wait to continue my journey with Roar Fitness and Craig and seeing what goals we can achieve next!

  • 5/5 Sam L. 1 year ago on Google
My experience at ROAR so far has been fantastic. My trainer Sam is patient, attentive and pushes me to new limits every time we train. He was supportive and flexible when I was injured (unrelated to roar). In the beginning I entered the gym with trepidation, but now I look forward to every session! My nutrition coach Tom has been very supportive throughout. It always amazed me he would answer my random nutrition questions within 5 minutes, no matter when I emailed! The meal plan was thorough and easy to follow - and it clearly works. Everyone at ROAR is friendly, and the atmosphere at the gym is really nice. I’ve already exceeded my weight loss goal and I haven’t even finished yet. Can’t wait for the next few weeks! If you’re thinking about signing up, just do it!!

  • 5/5 Marcos B. 2 years ago on Google
Great gym and amazing experience so far. My trainer Conor makes the sessions enjoyable and pushing me to achieve the best possible results. Have been training with him for nearly a month now and I feel way stronger, more agile and overall feeling much better than when I started. Highly recommended!

  • 5/5 Tom S. 2 years ago on Google
Can't recommend ROAR higher. I've been working with my trainer Conor over the last 2 months and I value every minute I spend with him. He's been able to take someone with absolutely zero understanding of this area and really build my knowledge and comprehension of what we are achieving. He is fantastic trainer. It's because of this that my time at ROAR is the highlight of my week - a sentence I thought I would never say. This is down to the level of service, attention to detail, and rigour that Conor puts into my workouts and nutrition programme with Matt Lindsay. It's an incredible environment and I imagine a boost to anyone who steps into the building.

Would highly recommend to anyone who is considering getting in shape for whatever reason... From top to bottom, this place is great! The people are friendly, the gym is clean and well-equipped, and the trainers are extremely knowledgeable. For someone like myself who is ALWAYS busy, I didn't think signing up to a course would be manageable nor make that greater difference to what I do independently - but I can't stress how wrong my assumption was... My trainer Luke has been fantastic! He is always flexible on scheduling, considerate of any physical issues I have, and helps me stay focused on what I want to achieve. For anyone considering signing up, I can offer you a few tips: 1.) Just sign up, don't even think about the cost or time commitment; the sooner you're in, the better your day-to-day life will become! 2.) Don't expect changes after a week or two... It takes time to get results and most importantly you NEED to remain consistent. I would encourage a dog mentality here for both the gym and nutrition. i.e. If you want your dog to lose weight - you get them to exercise regularly and cut the treats for a couple of months - no exceptions. It's very simple logic, but reminding yourself of this during the process helps you stay on track. 3.) Get Luke as your trainer! If you can also get Matt as your nutritionist - it's a winning formula.

Coming to Roar has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, not only is everyone so friendly and the place itself spotlessly clean but 10 weeks in and I’m over 10kgs down so far. Having never been to a gym before my PT Craig has been nothing short of amazing with his knowledge, encouragement and patience. At 42 years old I’m now fitter, leaner and stronger than I’ve ever been. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Training at the fabulous Roar gym is a dream. Ben Keith-Young is fab. He’s very thoughtful in getting the balance right between pushing you and being mindful of my past injuries. He also just a really decent bloke to hang out with. Matt is my nutrition boss. What a nice chap. Always encouraging and holds me to account in a very supportive way. He’s pragmatic and understands that the food has to fit for real life too. I love training at Roar. All the team including the front of house staff are so welcoming and fun to be around. It’s addictive.

My experience with Roar has been wonderful after 6 weeks so far. My trainer, Jake has helped me set personal bests and is great to work with! Luke has been so helpful with nutrition too - I truly don’t think I’d have the results I do anywhere else. It’s all because of the culture, Roar trainers are about gaining strength and listening to your body. Not the typical gym that says “cut as many foods as possible and work out 7 days a week.” Looking forward to the next 6 weeks with them!

I've absolutely loved working with Sam. I had no experience of lifting weights before joining ROAR and he has really helped me to build confidence. He strikes a great balance between helping me feel comfortable doing new things and getting me to push myself. I'm also seeing great results! Not to mention I really look forward to and enjoy all the workouts. Would recommend him to anyone.

I’ve been training with Kari, and can not recommend her enough! She’s an amazing trainer always making sure to challenge you in the best possible way, and pushing you to new numbers you didn’t even think you had in you. The first session I trained with Kari, I went home so inspired because I couldn’t believe the weight I’d been able to lift. Since then I’ve been able to increase my strength so much since training with her, and see awesome progress. She’s also incredibly fun and overall just a great person to train with.
