The church itself is rather shabby. Just a protestant prayer house, mostly devoid of beauty. But it is worth visiting for one thing - the magnificent stained glass with various saints. It contains a beautiful image of St Anselm of Canterbury wearing green vestments and a hare by his feet. I love St Anselm and this is one of the most charming images of this Doctor of the Church I have seen. So, visit the church and enjoy the magnificent stained glass window.

Mainly know it as my local polling station and once for a classical concert from the local school. Nice building and surrounded by old headstones etc dug up when the Barbican estate was being built. Interesting stained glass window on West end showing the modern City of London skyline a few years back with No 42 or the old Nat West Tower as it was known before, being most recognisable

I visited here to attend a concert put on by Guildhall School on the other side of the lake. The building oozes character and history, and the acoustics were perfect for listening to the woodwind instruments. However, the seating wasn't particularly comfortable, and the temperature inside required keeping wrapped up - this was in late November, perhaps in the summer it would be fine.

An amazing find on my trip around Barbican Henry IV epoch and the atmosphere alone has a deep effect on the soul

Amazing Church service led by the minister on Easter Sunday. Church atmosphere is very welcoming and the 2 huge organs they have make lovely music. Spacious and beautiful on the inside and worth going for the day. We were able to dress casual with jeans and sweatshirt. Definitely recommend for young couples and people with children. Also have a cute Sunday school group of young kids who do crafts about the days service in the back

It's a very cute old church, all tucked away in at a hidden corner in the centre of it all. Located by the Barbican, St Giles has occasional musical performances which are really nice to attend. It's quite large on the inside and there's a lot of space to sit. The church also has an organ, which I found to be very lovely to listen to.

Surprising historical find in the centre of the much more modern Barbican development. Very pleasant brass band can be found rehearsing on Wednesday evenings.

lovely place, i liked it because it was quiet and i felt like i almost wasn't in a city because it seemed so peaceful. As nice as London is it is nice to get away and relax and this is a great place to go to do so. would definitely go back next time im there.

This place is so beautiful. It even has a children's section with tiny sofas and chairs alongside a huge pile of books about stories from the bible explained in pictures and cute coloured pages. Although that is weird and inappropriate to think about in my head, but it's just cute!

It's a glorious church tucked into the heart of the Barbican, and a brilliant venue for classical concerts. Word of warning though, there's no toilets so you have to go to the Barbican over the walkway.

Lovely. My best friend penny sings here on a Sunday morning. There's a book fayre in the church on Sundays after mass which is always goid for a cheap read and huge selection of books and a decent selection of dvd. Most items cost 2 to 3 pounds each maybe more depending on size if the book. The rectory attached to the church is very pleasant and have been welcomed here by the vicar with a glass of wine and some nibbles....all free and very congenial bunch of worshippers. Great place in the centre of our favourite brutalist architecture in london - the barbican. That's another review all to itself!!!!

It is a beautiful church I love the structure, the stained glass and the details they have preserved. the history of the place is incredible a place to visit without a doubt. They also do a lot to promote culture with the locals.

Grade I Listed and much rebuilt medieval church rich in associations with numerous notables over the ages, nestles aside The Barbican lake terrace, London Wall remnant and London Girls School. Historic artefacts and accoutrements in a restored and subdued interior. Regretfully the bare immediate surrounds with the exception of a few trees is denuded of colour and supportive context. Bring on the landscapers.

A beautiful church in a pleasant setting by the Barbican lake, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It has a good acoustic too. I've played in concerts and masterclasses here for decades.
