Bodeans was 💯. I was worried that the flavors would have been muted but that was not the case. I really enjoyed everything, and the service was stellar as well. Had 2 Pitboss platter and some teasers. The meat on the ribs and other cuts were so tender. I would definitely go back again to try a burger or something. Quite impressed with the meat.

Hell yes. This place was a pleasant suprise highlight of my trip to London. The brisket was superb - fatty, rich and melts in your mouth - along with flavourful ribs and the truffle mac&cheese (a must-order) which complements our meats fantastically. American style ambiance of TV blaring out sports adds to the authenticity. Drink prices were dangerously reasonable. Great place when you're craving BBQ.

Reservations recommended but not necessary if you’re willing the wait. The restaurant was quite busy the evening we visited and my friend and I ended up sitting at a counter near the window - good for people watching. The server was very pleasant and patiently answered questions about the menu. I opted for the Baby back Ribs and Pulled Pork Combo served with fries and coleslaw. Both were tender and delicious though I preferred the pulled pork.

I booked this for a me and my brother, we went on a Wednesday at around 6:30pm - 2 very heavy meat eaters. Safe to say, we were in good hands. We were seated downstairs which was nice and cool temperature wise. The table for 2 was a little small, but this didn’t serve to be as much of an issue as I thought. I feel if you were ordering multiple plates you would have a bigger issue. Initially I was concerned about the multiple reports of flies and although there was 1 small one that occurred once or twice, it’s nowhere near as bad as I thought and frankly if I hadn’t seen the other reviews I would of never even thought to mention it. Service was a little slow but our waitress kept checking on us and was overall a very positive person, definitely made the mood better. Food was grand. We got the pit boss platter and it almost beat both of us out. I got the sides of fries and bbq beans but didn’t even touch the beans, I was too full. The quality of the meat is decent. You want to be on the slightly quicker side as taking breaks let’s the meat cool fairly quickly and it’s the type you prefer hot. Food wasn’t cold by any means. Overall in short it’s a good spot with good food and good people. Prices are pretty fair for the location and I’d happily drop off again to eat there.

First time here. Walked in and it was fully booked (good sign). We sat at the bar which was perfectly acceptable. The food came promptly and was really good and tasty. The bar lady was spot on with the service. Definitely coming back (with a booking).

Tower Hill branch has been around for a long time and this place used to be superb. Maybe tonight was an off night, but we were really disappointed with the service, unattentive is an understatement. Service was just not there, it felt like there was a lack of structure and proactive management, at one stage I had to stand up and wave my hands in the air to get someones attention. No tidying up of tables next to us, no offer of additional beverages, no check in if everything is ok, no spoons with dessert, it goes on and on! Time to up the game Bodeans!

The best place for amazing BBQ food. Great service, a brilliant selection of starters/mains/sharer plates for all. I had a pulled pork and baby back rib main course with chilli cheese fries and it was epic. Photo included. I visit here every time I go to London. Would definitely recommend.

We were in the area and after reading some good reviews, we came here for dinner. We got no reservations but were offered seats quite fast. We went downstairs and right away Shela took great care in making sure we enjoyed our dinning experience, she was a star! Fast and friendly service, followed by great ribs and pulled pork. The BBQ Chipotle sauce is definitely a must try with your fries and meat. Great flavors, and even better service. Only downside is the loudness of the place, making it hard to have a chat while enjoying your meal, but do give it a go, it's a good restaurant for BBQ meats.

Not bad. The burnt ends of brisket were just lumps of brisket. The chicken thighs were a little dry. Ribs were very good. Chips were over seasoned, they were incredibly salty to me. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Cost was very reasonable.

Great Bodeans location near the Tower. Very child friendly, including kids menus with BBQ staples. Staff were incredibly friendly and fast, despite it being quite busy. Food is regular Bodean's quality, I especially love their truffle mac and cheese.

Great American style diner! Hope you like lots of meat to! Try the chicken wings and dare yourself how hot you go! Burnt ends are good and the ribs! Finish it all off with a milkshake!

Hopped in for lunch one afternoon. Great location! Was looking forward to some bbq as I’ve been to Kansas City and was getting tired of pub food haha. Service was great and the inside was clean and comfortable. Loved the music! Food was great portions and tasted fresh. The hickory bbq sauce was great as well. Burnt ends were slightly dry but still tasty. The wings were also good but somewhat small. All in all, it was a nice stop for lunch and I did not expect to find tasty bbq in London!

Popped in here on chance having visited 10 years ago, got a seat at the bar where I could take in the atmosphere and the American sports on TV. Staff very friendly and attentive. Ordered probably too much but it was all delicious. Their bourbon menu is very impressive *price per person does not include extra bourbon purchases after the meal.

Bodeans is a great budget friendly option for american BBQ. The food is ok, not the best but you're definitely going to be satisfied. Nice selection of drinks too. The venue at Tower Hill is nice, pretty much right outside the Tower of London so it can be packed with tourists on the weekends. It has a few tables on the ground cloor but a large seating area in the basement. The main downside is the service. It's a bit slow and they make mistakes. I've been to this restaurant 4 times and every time they either mixed up some order or there were other issues so it's definitely not a one time thing. They are very courteous and kind but yeah, the service leaves something to be desired. Atmosphere and vibe is ok, lots of TVs that play sports so you can catch football matches, etc.

The place is bigger then you think. The staff was friendly, he gave great recommendations. The cocktails I didn’t find it sweet enough. The food was alright a little bit dry I expected a bit more. The portions are good

Maybe we picked the wrong night? Having to get up & ask for service every time you need something is okay if you're at a pub that serves counter meals. Food came relatively quickly and was delicious. Side portions are tiny though. I'm sure the bowls have got smaller. We weren't offered dessert. We weren't offered more drinks (we had to get up & go over to the bar to get our first & only round!) No one came to check on us and see if we had our entire order and if everything was okay. Distinct lack of management and/ or trained staff. Such a pity as we probably won't return when London has so many other choices.

Still just as good as how I remembered it years ago. Went here for a family meal on Friday afternoon and it was fantastic. We had the buffalo wings which were smoked to perfection. Kids had the kids menu which was a great serving size. For mains we went for the Pit Boss platter (2 ppl) and the serving size was perfect! The brisket, sausage and burnt ends were our fave bits. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and we felt well looked after. Lovely friendly vibe, we all had a great time. Very happy with the whole experience. Kids loved it too, thank you team!

I refuse to believe these bbq meats came out of a smoker! Our order: the pulled pork nachos, Mac & Cheese, fries, the Brisket & Baby back ribs combo plate and the Bodean’s platter. The only meats that were half decent were the spare ribs and the pulled pork (…and that’s me being kind). The Baby back ribs were as dry as sand and tasted old. The burnt ends weren’t anywhere near as impressive as they were a few years ago. We then ordered a Chocolate brownie and a couple of Key lime pies for dessert. The Key lime pies were basically a NY style cheesecake with some lime rind shavings on top…no lime flavour in the actual pie!! What the ?… the meal cost about £40/head and was a disappointment. Not impressed.

Great bbq restaurant! Looks small from the outside but extensive seating downstairs. Food was really good, great service too. Good selection of beers/IPAs and spirits. Very reasonably priced to top it off... ill be back for a sharing platter in the new year

Saddest pork ribs eaten ever. Ribs were dry & rubbery. It was poorly cooked. Worst fries of my life. Poor fries shrunk because they were refried apparently else they never can look so terrible. Left coleslaw as well it was just not appealing enough to be tried. It was rip off for such expensive dish. Staff was very nice and courteous all across.

It was a really nice experience with vegan choices as well, which I didn’t expect in a bbq place. I would recommend. It’s not too crowded but not empty either, that happened all the times I’ve visited. Nice for a family dinner or a date, very friendly staff.

Our first night in London with the family! We decided to eat here because of great reviews and close to Tower Hill. I’m an American and they had better BBQ then a lot of places in USA. Husband had Burnt ends and ribs which I tried and were delicious. I had chicken thighs and I could taste that delicious smoky flavour! Kids had wings and ribs and ate them up! Definitely have to return before leaving! And a beautiful view of Tower Bridge at night when we left!

Phoned up as no online bookings were left and was told we could walk in for a table. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Had the sharing platter for 2 which was great! Lots of TVs up so it was perfect while watching world cup

Service was friendly and also lightning quick. That speed was not at the expense of the quality of the food though. Just so nice. Can strongly recommend.

Found on a rainy London evening. Had a warm vibe to the place. Played sport on the big screen and what looked like a great selection of beers. Food choice was good. Thoroughly enjoyed the burnt ends. Slightly on the pricy side at 25 a main dish. Service was friendly and has window seats so you can watch the world go by. Only drawbacks were that there were no toilets on the first floor that could make disabled access difficult. There is a seating area downstairs so for families could be difficult with prams

Tasty American-style food with decent servings. Swift service from friendly and active staff. Try one of their seasonal cocktails too.

Make sure you're hungry when you go here, because the portions are large. I had the Lil Jake's burger, which was anything but little and was extremely tasty, and washed it down with my usual Old Fashioned cocktail.

We’ve had the Bodean’s Platter (minimum of 2 people) which was great. Meat was perfectly grilled and very tasteful. Fast and very friendly service.

  • 3/5 Scott W. 2 years ago on Google
Not a terrible place, the restaurant has a standard American vibe to it, with the booths, music and decor. The staff weren’t that great though. Front of house was nice but our server seemed impatient and a bit grouchy to be honest. Food on the other hand was pretty good, at least with its flavours. Although we ordered the pit boss platter, which was supposed I be a selection of lots of things (and cost £56 for the two of us), but it all looked clumped together with no real differentiation in its plating to be able to figure out what we had. I reckon it’s to disguise that some things were lacking - like the pulled pork and chicken seemed non-existent and the “thick cut slices of brisket” were two slices that weren’t thick at all. Also, sadly it came out only lukewarm, almost like it had been sat out for a while and not freshly cooked (or at least just out the smoker). Shame really but wouldn’t come back again for the price.

I’ll give a 10/10 to this restaurant. Service very friendly (thanks Liketta) and the food was very good. We had the nachos, the coleslaw, the burnt ends and pulled pork (amazing :D) and the hot dog (one with cheese and the other with grilled onions). Although we had as well the cream corn 🌽 I don’t recommend it. £64 with soft drinks in total and you finish very satisfied and full.

From booking a table and having excellent customer service from Eli & Hamish, to the food and team tonight - everything was fantastic. Brilliant atmosphere with the football this evening and even being busy the service was quick, friendly and lovely food and drinks. Thanks for a brilliant evening 😀

  • 2/5 Stephie S. 2 years ago on Google
When we arrived the host greeted us and was really polite. When we sat down the restaurant was really nice and looked lovely. Menu looked like a great selection and we were interested in the platters and the waiter gave us a good explanation of what you got. So went for that sadly when the food arrived we were surprised by the portions. When you think of American BBQ / smokehouse you think of big portions like similar restaurants. Chips were poor, cheap french fries and the server was.no where to be seen had to go looking for him to get more drinks. The food tastes great, but for the price the portions you get are not right. Sadly we will not return as we know there are other better smoke house restaurants that offer better portions.

One of my favourite restaurants in London.... the staff are incredible. They bend over backwards to make sure you have the best time. If I can I always go here after work. Excellent place with a taste of America. As for the food well.... I cannot get enough. 10/10
