Scratching my head why this bar got rewarded. The website clearly states no reservations but when you show up you wait endlessly for a table while ‘hotel guests’ simply get to jump the queue. Everyone else is offered a standing bar space until the next table becomes available which is almost never the case even though several tables were empty. I’ve been to many cocktail bars but the service here was below average unfortunately, but the cocktails were amazing! But to be number 1, they need to ensure that everyone has a great experience.

Finally had the amazing opportunity to visit the Connaught Bar this was week and what an amazing experience it was! The service was amazing, the snacks and aperitif refreshing and amazing menu. The classic martini is a must and the table side preperation is unbelievable. Absolutely great atmosphere and overall just beyond amazing and above expectations. A bucket list must for any cocktail bar fan. If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!

Connaught Bar is a two time 50 Best Bar winner, and it really shows. Their drinks, service, and atmosphere are exceptional. Starting from when your arrival, someone offers to take your bags and coat. A bathroom attendant is there to return them at your leisure. If tables are full you can stand at the bar. Cocktails taste divine, with their masterpiece selection being the stand outs. I had the Icebreaker, Mulata Daisy, and Your Point of View and can't say anything critical. However, their classic cocktails are just a touch of balance. The French 75 was champagne forward and the Sazerac with cognac was a touch sweet. They're still amazing, but at this level every drop matters. Classic cocktails run you over £20 as well so don't think you're saving money by ordering something more basic. Stick to their menu for the best possible experience because you're paying the same either way. It's a phenomenal bar.

Be sure to come early if you want their amazing breakfast, it's worth the wait and they open at 9. The scrambled eggs is very tasty but their French toast is out of this world. The service is excellent and really worth passing by if your in London

The Connaught Bar being ranked as the #5 bar in the world was one I knew I had to visit! It has been the top bar a few years ago and it was the place to be! It is a small bar in the Connaught Hotel (one of three) and they don’t accept reservations unless you are staying at the hotel. Be prepared to wait for space or for the bar to not have any openings one night. Even for one, I had to wait 30 min for a spot to stand at the bar but it was worth it! Shoutout to Ricardo who is a great bartender. Extra bonus if you speak Italian as the staff all speak it.

#41 World’s best bar (2023) (Look up World’s 50 Best Bars Ranking - I’m traveling around the world to try them btw) Atmosphere 10/10 Incredibly elegant and classy bar, inside the Connaught hotel. No strict dress code, but you will feel underdressed in smart casual! Amazing Ambiente Service 10/10 Everyone gets appropriate attention and a welcome drinks + snacks. Staff is dappered up and knowledgeable. Drinks 9/10 Known for the Dry Martini and Icebreaker. Definitely try the custom Dry Martini - a bartender will come over with a portable cart and mix it live in front of you. And before mixing you will have to select one out of five bitters, to make it truly unique customized experience! Drinks taste was very good! Also the Icebreaker highly recommended. Price 2/10 Despite the unique experience, £30 for a drink on average is just way too much. Overall, I think the bar fully deserves to be in Top50 in the world!

I FINALLY got to experience the amazing cocktails and ambience at the Connaught Bar and it did NOT disappoint. 🍸 We were greeted by the friendly host and were seated immediately in a cozy corner. Let me just say the service here is impeccable. We were served with complimentary olives and biscuits along with a nice glass of pineapple juice. I caught wind of this bar thanks to an Instagram post from one of my favorite photographers. Apparently he shoots here from time to time. (Alan Schaller). There's even a cocktail inspired by his work called the Eclipse. It was DELICIOUS. In addition, there are some lovely mocktail options which are always a plus. Pro-tip: We came here around opening time at 4PM on a Saturday and there was already a mini queue. I recommend arriving around this time if you want to get seated right away. It filled up quickly afterwards. SHOUT-OUT to Giorgio for the warm welcome!

Went there for a drink before dinner reservation on my husbands birthday. I've checked out the place doesn't take reservations before deciding to go there, since my husband loves a good martini or negroni, we didn't mind to wait. Once arrived, the queue was large as suspected but we waited out, we saw couple of tables available, but the receptionist told us there's a space to stand next to the bar which we did. We thought perhaps someone was waiting for the tables before us. We told the receptionist we will only going to stay for a drink and asked if we could have one of the tables, she said to wait if anything gets available we will be notified and never got back. After a few mins standing by the bar, even before ordering our drinks, two more tables got available but sadly we didn't get a chance to sit down. When it was time to leave, in total the bar had 4 tables free the entire time. Seems to me like the bar is trying to create a hype - have people queuing but having free tables to offer. Once again, the places doesn't take reservations so those tables weren't waiting for anyone. We gave it a chance, but the experience was dissapointing.

This bar is inside the Connaught hotel, which is a great decorated place. We've been there twice, as the first one was full and we didn't get a table (unfortunately, you can not make a reservation). The second time we went there was also full (they have a "no queue scheme) but there was a smaller area, like bar, where we could taste the same menu. The staff was very friendly, however, we had to wait a bit long. They give you olives and crackers free of charge (they brought us twice) and they also served us a welcome drink (I think was alcohol free) The Cocktails we've chosen were ok, but we didn't like them a lot For a hotel bar, prices for basic stuff were fine, but not in general.

Realized we've missed out on exploring many cocktail bars in London, so on our last night, we decided to check out The Connaught Bar, ranked no. 5 in the world! Famous for their martinis (which we surprisingly didn't try 🤣), we opted for a range of cocktails, and my top picks are the Icebreaker and the Synthesis. Every sip was a harmony of flavors. Kudos to the mixologists for these masterpieces! Tip: Arrive early; we got there at 4 pm, right when they opened, and it was already buzzing! 🍸

Beautiful bar with excellent service. We were dressed rather casually as compared to the other patrons but received the same attention and service from the wait staff. The water served was filtered and crisp, with slices of cucumber. Complimentary nibbles were replenished frequently and we were sent off with shots served in tiny martini glasses at the end of the night. We were also gifted with recipe cards of the cocktails we ordered - a nice touch, especially to remember a special occasion by.

We had the most wonderful evening at The Connaught Bar. Ago and the bar team are extremely impressive, they guided us through the menu in detail, created the most unique and delicious cocktails and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere in the bar is great. I would highly recommend visiting and am very much looking forwards to visiting this beautiful bar again soon!

Fantastic cocktails are served here. It is one of the first places in London where they serve Paper plane (although not with a right amaro. something to fix here for sure) Super talented bartender, all cocktails were absolutely on the spot! The price is above average, but you are paying for great cocktails, so no regrets. I love that they serve olives and crisps to accompany drinks. Must try : Aviation, Paper Plane, Brandy Alexander ( if you like a sweeter one), and amazingly balanced Boulevardier. Of course, if you want to be adventurous, go for Penicillin, a contemporary classic.

Staff not particularly helpful! For the number one cocktail bar in the world, I'd of thought the staff would be more inviting & polite. The olives were nice, though.

One of the best Dry Martinis I've ever had. In its classic version, prepared to your own taste. And in the Drys cart where you can taste different types of narrows to give it a more personal touch (citrus, dry, wood, etc). High prices in keeping with a 5* hotel of its style in London. I publish a little more national or European. The classicism of the hotel is one of the things that I value most in this new wave of modern hotels covered in new Russian, Arab, etc. money.

I wanted to try out the non-alcoholic range of drinks that are on offer. I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails and the virgin mary. Each had it's distinct character and unique infusion. Wine for soul was especially enjoyable. It hinted at a Martini Rosso blend. The place is well presented and staff were professional and lovely! Would recommend!

Amazing service, amazing cocktails, amazing place. Sure, you'll end up paying 20 quid a drink, but you'll be served top class cocktails in a great atmosphere. I had a Negroni. Since the price is 2x other places, was the drink 2x better? Not really. But was it worth it? Definitely!

The Connaught Bar is swanky. You will not look out of place in nice clothing, but I did feel out of place in casual clothing. Arrive early. I arrived before 1700 and was able to walk in. Others arrived later and struggled. This bar is one of the Top 50, immensely popular, after all. Expense - quite expensive. Good cocktails, but it's also in a nice hotel and in Mayfair, so know that ahead of time. All in all - yes, I would suggest you visit! The staff are incredibly nice and the drinks are incredibly good.

Swanky spot. Outstanding cocktails. I was blown away by the saffron smoke drink. Definitely felt underdressed with jeans, tennis shoes and a long sleeve t-shirt but the staff weren't picky about it which was nice. The design of this bar was beautiful as well.

This place is truly a royal London experience. Rated among the 50 best bars in the world, it serves the atmosphere, elegance and quality that come with it. The Connaught martini ofcourse is a vibe of its own, with the Martini trolley, the master pour and the choice of bitters and botanicals. Very Warm and friendly service despite how busy it always is, we were served by Georgio Bargiani, how smiling and welcoming he is. It can be quite hard to get a table here, recommend going in a bit early to secure a spot!

The best bar in London? With a very honourable fifth place on The World’s 50 Best Bars, the Connaught Bar is the highest ranked of London’s bars. This is a fancy bar in a 5-star hotel, with the highest class and service imaginable, so it’s recommended not to turn up in jeans and trainers. The menu includes signatures, classics and more experimental cocktails. Of course, they have their own gin, created for the 10th anniversary, and it can be served as a Dry Martini. The decor and atmosphere is straight out of a James Bond film, so it feels only natural. The service continues to keep the style, with a bartender appearing with the ”dry martini cart” at the table. First you get to decide which of 5 different bitters you prefer and then the cocktail is mixed spectacularly in front of everyone’s eyes. But it’s not just a show, it’s incredibly aromatic and well-balanced. We also try our test cocktail, which is of course perfectly mixed. This is a bar where you treat yourself once in a while and it’s worth it! 🍸😍

Just an excellent experience. This is a very special place. If you are passionate about cocktails, you can’t miss this experience. Not only are the bartenders drink experts, the servers are as well and were able to give me exactly what I was looking for. Prices are steep but worth it for the experience in my opinion. I got an extra dirty gin martini made with dry sherry instead of vermouth

Great, balanced (subtly strong) drinks. They treat you with a welcome beverage, olives, and small fried bread crackers. We may have gone on a slow night - we were seated right away, then moved to a better table. Service is attentive, and the atmosphere is nice. Prices range from mid-20's up to £80+ per cocktail (higher end comes with a fancy presentation).

I enjoy a good bar…this one is outstanding. The staff took excellent care of us. Great choice of amazingly sophisticated and delicious drinks. The Mulata Daisy was a extraordinary drink made by a more than capable hand…just one recommendation…if you are into fancy drinks and looking for the unusual. Also try the Everglow or the Brilliance. I assure you as an experienced cocktail lover you’ll be in Mixology heaven. @the team of the bar: Thank you for the great experience…it was wonderful.

All I need to say is cucumber water! But obviously come for the cocktails! We had an incredible time last night at the bar, from the superb service (they were so attentive!), including great drink recommendations, to the overall atmosphere. I’m so happy we were able to visit! Also, make sure to arrive early to secure a table. We got there just about 8:15pm on a Friday night and the bar was full by 9pm.

We love this charming hotel bar. Small room, Cozy fireplace, attentive service, great people watching, in addition to the perfect place to catch up with a friend. Clever cocktails come at a steep price tag, but we enjoy the sophisticated atmosphere that still puts off a welcoming relaxed vibe.

Quite possibly the finest cocktail bar that I’ve ever been too. The innovation, originality, and creativity with the cocktail menu is astounding. From twists in classic cocktails to in-house originals, The Connaught Bar is a masterclass in mixology. Additionally, the place is absolutely beautiful. Everything about his bar has been thoughtfully curated for your pleasure.

The Connaught Bar is a jewel of a room. It is about as elegant as it gets, which you’d expect in a top hotel. But it also has one of the world’s best bar teams, which you don’t find as often. It’s not cheap, but it truly lives up to the shelf of ‘World’s Best’ awards behind the bar. If you like martinis, the Connaught Martini prepared table-side is something you must experience. All the original drinks on the menu are equally outstanding. What I like most is the staff. They’re perfect hosts.

What I love is that as well as the excellent cocktails, it’s all seated so you can go with friends and not be ‘bothered’ by men on the pull. Before Christmas, ask for a table in the conservatory so you can admire their annual contemporary Christmas “tree”.

Great service. Maybe I didn’t order the signatures? The No11 is popular but heavy for me - in the taste of vodka. And I got dizzy after the drink. Oh btw the price for single cocktail is 24-28 £

We were disappointed. Not enough staff for how busy the space is. One drink (Mulata Daisy) was excellent. The other (Number 11) was a nothing special Vesper. The bar is an okay space, but doesn’t feel cozy and inviting. The snacks are nice olives and a nondescript carb ring-thing. For the price there are better London bars.

First time visitors. We were a party of 3 and we seated ourselves. I think we waited an abnormally long time to get our drinks, but once we got them, they were an experience. The Connaught bar martini and the Good Fellas. Amazing. We enjoyed every drop.

2nd best Bar in the world? Are you kidding? Never in a lifetime. First: When you are not staying at the hotel you are only 2nd or 3rd best guest. The relationship management of those ladies at the entrance is just bad and not rising up to the expected standard. They tell you, guests from the hotel are waiting inside for their dinner reservations at the restaurant. Second: If you don‘t want someone from outside the hotel, say so! OR offer the possibility to make reservations. Third: If you get in there the drinks are ok but nothing special. This has nothing to do with first/second. This has to be distinguished!! If there would be something special, I would write it down.

This bar is stunning, cocktails were beautifully made, excellent customer service - if I'm judging it purely on this, it's a 5 star and above. However...the clientele this place attracts, I had to take off a star. Unfortunately, the clientele within the bar and hotel are snobby, pretentious, stuck up, fake, not inclusive... I've enjoyed cocktails at their sister bar, The Blue Bar and didn't experience that there. Frankly, the clientele were unwelcoming and for that reason I personally wouldn't return. But, it would be unfair to give a lower score as the bar it self was beautiful.
