Small but cosy garden - do a few rounds at a brisk walk! Surprised to find that the Knights Templar once owned this land! Has a small pond with actual fish in it (carp)...peaceful atmosphere. Children's playground for their enjoyment. Nice, reasonably priced, and warm cafe on site (with a wide variety of menu items inc. full English breakfast, jacket potatoes and sandwiches, plus has a kids menu). Variety of theatre shows and concerts etc held on its grounds - ticket purchase required. Roads opposite the park and across the other side have free parking most of the times of the day (check).

A lovely serene garden. Wonderful cafe in an old stables settings. Very well signposted for disabled patrons. Well behaved dogs on leads. Two girls in the cafe serving us this morning were extremely helpful and polite. The breakfast was cooked superbly. Praises all around for this gem.

Very nice park with plenty of History. Onsite cafe with children's play area. Plenty of places to sit and clean facilities. I would recommend and enjoy taking a walk around whilst reading some of the history and information boards.

Yesterday we held the celebration of our mums life at Stephens House and Garden, after laying her to rest in some awful weather. I wanted to say thank you to Tracey for all the assistance you gave during the arrangements of our gathering . Tracey was extremely helpful and certainly tried to accommodate our requests. The venue is absolutely stunning as were the grounds. I know that had our mum been with us in person she would have loved every moment and that was my objective. To give my mum the type of day she would have loved. The venue is absolutely stunning as were the grounds. I know had our mum been with us in person she would have loved every moment. The ability to use the TV for streaming of photos, along with playing music was an added bonus. The food was also very delicious. Therefore once again Tracey, thank you for your hospitality and ease of communication and for doing all you could to accommodate our mums celebration of life.

It is a great park both in the winter and the summer. One of my fave places to sit down to eat or lie on the grass and sunbathe on sunny day! And this place be so peaceful at the same time! Spacious area, shaded with trees, lovely flowers and plenty of benches to sit!

A Little Hidden Gem. This location seems to be unknown by many, even though it sits it plain sight. The grounds hold a historic building, which can be rented for events, as well as some beautiful gardens. Although the place is not huge, it is possible to spend hours here enjoying the picturesque garden and the lovely flora, especially when there is pleasant weather. We enjoyed a picnic in the shade of one of the large old trees. Paths meander through the trees, grass and pond areas, with lots of sitting or lying around areas available. There is a playground here to for the littleons to enjoy and get rid of some energy ; ). A cafe and toilets are also on site.

Yesterday we laid our mum to rest. The heavens certainly opened up to allow her in with torrential rain but then on to Stephens House to dry and warm up and to celebrate mum's life. Beautiful venue, on stunning grounds. I couldn't fault the set up and Tracey was very attentive to my needs. Buffet provided was also ample and very tasty. Facilities to play music and a video went down really well. Thank you Tracey. Mum had a wonderful send off.

Excellent gardens and green space for a nature walk and pleasure. Good cafe, variety on the menu and good quality food. Best falafel wrap I ever had. Plenty of memories here with a growing up toddler, and hopefully many more to come. Thanks!

I am unable to speak for the house itself, but the gardens are nice. It's a bit of peace and quiet in Finchley. They regularly hold events on weekends although I heard the street food one was less street food and more order your canteen food and we will bring it to you! The food isn't great in the cafe but that's to be expected. What's not to be expected is central London prices for a jacket potato. Some of the cakes are really tasty, but I don't know why there are cranberries on the caramel slice - let decadence prevail! The coffee is acceptable. That said, I'm not fussy.

We absolutely love this place. So much space for the children to explore, space to relax and look at the fish and there is even a little cafe near the main entrance. Further on there is a playground, it is kept clean and is checked regularly.

Beautiful little park in the grounds of a fancy old Manor house. Plenty of charm and character, full of little nooks and pathways to explore, Secret gardens, little hillocks, winding pathways, a nice pond, mini waterfall and rockery area, plenty of nice trees and green grass, multiple play areas for kids, lots to explore. With a fantastic little café at the top of the green in the old converted stables.

Very good place, the playground overall is great There are multiple swings however where older children can play. There is also the biggest see-saw I have ever seen in my life, worth going to the playground just for the see-saw. The surrounding plant life is also very green all year round and very mood-enhancing. I'd recommend taking a look at the map before travelling across the park since the small paths can be quite confusing. The only downside is the cafe food price, however if this shouldn't be much of an issue if you're just here to walk or play. Overall I'd say a good age range for the play-equipment is 3-13

A quaint little place that's perfect for an afternoon tea or an idyllic walk during the golden hour sunlight. The various paths around the park lead to some gorgeous views of the city and with the addition of the pond and marvellous looking trees as well as the playground, this is one place you won't be short of when it comes to things to see and do for the whole family. Beautiful in every sense of the word.

This is a lovely park and playarea for kids and adults. Such a hidden gem. Really well-kept, beautiful settings and a lovely cafe on site. The playarea is lovely and it has a sandpit too. The only thing is it closes early at 6pm. But that is okay if you go early enough to enjoy.

A perfect place for an intimate wedding in North London It was an absolute joy capturing Henna + Dan’s small, intimate, summer wedding ceremony and reception at Stephens House & Gardens. The Victorian building had beautiful interior design inside the ceremony and reception room which only helped enhance the moments caprured by us. As photographers, we love it when a venue has different locations on sitewhich only offers us options to create diverse photos including couple portraits at the venue's garden overlooking the building. Staff were so welcoming, kind and just so lovely too. Can't wait to photograph more weddings there soon!

Stephens gardens have a medieval aura, and for a good reason: they trace their origins to the 13th century, when the land was given to the Knights Templar. Nowadays, it's a small walled park with a playground and a coffee shop, popular with dog walkers, located next to a predominantly Jewish grammar school and a predominantly Iranian high street (Ballard lane). As it's often the case in London, travel across time and space is only a matter of walking for 5 minutes.

Very nice place: some of its areas feel like actual forests, and it’s got a nice children playground too.

A lovely park with a rockery, bothy, lake and cafe. Plenty of sunny and shady spots and lots of benches. I enjoyed wandering around the paths that wind around through the trees. The cafe does a nice banana cake and also has clean loos. The best bit is the Spike Milligan bench which is beautifully designed and the only disappointment was that the bothy was closed for a kids theatre show so was unavailable for visiting. The house is an event venue so sadly not open much.

Really lovely gardens set back off the busy Finchley roads. A bit of greenery and many people walking or families playing. I went on a weekday around 4pm still during covid so many people were there, but not too busy. I haven't been under normal circumstances but there seemed lots of space to distance

Fantastic play area for the kids (they have a sand pit so you might want to take spare clothes for the kids) - also has great walking paths. Very family friendly.

Just to clarify, I agree that our family gathering was in the wrong by being over the limit, so the manager was right to disperse us. However, he could have been far more polite in the way that he told us, and as seen by multiple reviews below, the rudeness of this manager has been noted before, yet nothing has been done. It is vital that no future visitors should have to face such a demeanor. This person needs to be told by others this: either change your manners at once, or give your job to someone who can be compassionate as well as strict, because you actually made someone in my family cry, for it was their birthday party. Yes, it is very important to uphold social distancing in these times, but suddenly yelling at people without a warning is not how to do it. Please, I just want people in this world to be nice to each other.

(Translated by Google) There is a children's playground in the back of a quiet garden, and you can play with peace of mind in a quiet atmosphere unlike other parks. Impression that there are many families with relatively small children. I visited during the autumn foliage season, so it's fun just to take a walk. The cafe is open even in Corona.
