😠 Worst GP I have ever been a patient of. Receptionists are rude and each make up their own rules. Practically impossible to see your own GP, I have been a patient of this surgery for over a year and have only been able to see my GP once. In regards to booking appointments you are advised to call at 8... People often mention appointment, phone, call, surgery, doctors, service, appointments, staff, doctor, time,

They dont even deserve a single star. Called little late in the morning for appointment and got suggestion that we only deal with same day appointments call at 8am. Then i called at 8am and ask for appointment they said u will get an appointment after 2 weeks. What is this? Extremely disappointed.

Worst GP I have ever been a patient of. Receptionists are rude and each make up their own rules. Practically impossible to see your own GP, I have been a patient of this surgery for over a year and have only been able to see my GP once. In regards to booking appointments you are advised to call at 8am and despite calling at exactly 8am I'm usually no.8 - 18 in the queue and even when you're no.1 in the queue they take really long to answer. Finally when they do answer they simply tell you that there are no appointments available at the centre so they give you the option of 1. Callback, this is usually by the nurse who then has to go and ask for advice from the GP and it is never thorough. 2. Hub appointment. Hub appointments are managed by locum doctors who go through numerous patients throughout the day and just want to be over and done with your appointment as fast as they can. Appointments are generally very rushed and they usually cannot do most things as their not your own GP. I have been trying to get an appointment for the past MONTH and have been unable to do so. Will now look for another practice. Anyone looking to join this practice please do not waste your time.

I’m with this practice it’s been many years and the quality and lack of care decrease brutally over the years. Unprepared staff not willing to help at all. Got given a prescription for a specific medication that can kill me, even though I explained to the person about my health history. Person started raising his voice saying he was basing himself in what he saw at the moment and not my medical history.. UPDATED, once again the practice failed after making me wait for 3 weeks to give a test result as the doctor was on Holiday, they forgot to call me, then made another doctor who had no idea why he was calling to reach, meaning all I still know is that there's some alteration on my tests and now they want me to wait another week to maybe, if I'm lucky, have the correct doctor to call me... if you want to make things work please go to the NHS Commissioning department of Tower Hamlets as they are the people who will solve the problem for you, people in tis practice don't care.

Not worthy of even 1 star. If you don't like your job get another. It is so frustrating to wait on the phone to speak to someone only then to be hung up on. Whoever is ringing you, are not ringing to be entertained or they don't have anything better to do, clearly they are calling because they are in need of medical help! Stop making your job personal and act professional.

Phone wait time shocking, initially got through after 30 minutes only for someone to pick up the phone and immediately put the phone down again. Finally got through after an hour and 15 minutes for a very unsympathetic - it's not my problem receptionist. Was told i'd receive an email... it hasn't come through. NHS slowly gets eaten by the US healthcare companies and we take the brunt.

I think these reviews are unfair. This surgery is good and the doctors and receptionists are generally very kind and helpful, despite the stress and pressure they are under. Getting appointments is sometimes difficult, but if you phone during the day, they will arrange for a doctor to call you. When the doctor calls you, they will assess if you need to be seen and if you do need to be seen, they will often see you the same day. So really it's about being patient and not panicking if you feel unwell. The NHS is under financial pressure to cut costs and this affects the levels of service the dedicated professionals who work in the health service can provide. But they do their best, and they do care about their patients. There is a system these days for getting health care: ask a Pharmacist, go to a walk in clinic, or phone the surgery. It isn't ideal, but blame the government, not the doctors, nurses, receptionists and other health care professionals. Update 11 October 2018: I would also like to add that in the past week I've been called twice by doctors at XXPlace concerning an ongoing ear problem I have, and they have both been very sympathetic, helpful and kind. So I have to say they really do their best to help, which can't be easy for them when they have such pressures and constraints on how much help and time they are able to give. I don't think it can be easy being a doctor or nurse or any healthcare professional these days. So they have my respect and gratitude.

Doctors are great, they call you when they say they will and try to solve your issues professionally and efficiently. The reception team not so good . They rarely answer the phone within 5 minutes of you being first in the queue.Several minutes of music then endless ring tone and no pick up. Should do better.

I've found it to be quite a decent place, albeit in a densely packed bit of inner city London, which makes getting an appointment somewhat harder. Dr Charlotte Weston was very understanding and helped me with my issue. The pharmacological solution was best for me. Talking therapies in Tower Hamlets are virtually non-responsive. I was prescribed a safe medication for my issue. Follow-up consultations were just as reasonable. On a slightly related note about the NHS repeat prescription journey, I've learned that if in doubt, remember the principle of 'informed consent' (which is more of an American, libertarian principle): if you know about the drug and its safety profile, mention it to your doctor if you think it can help you.

Can’t really provide a review because I can’t get an appointment. 5 days in a row on hold for 20 minutes from precisely 8.00am when their lines open and there are never any appointments left. I’ve always been 5th - 8th in the queue so I’m not sure how that works.

Terrible. I can say, hand on heart, that this is the worst GP surgery I have ever had the misfortune to sign up to. They refused to refer me to a specialist, insisting that I first need a phone consultation in order for them to decide if I need the referral or not, even though I have already had two phone consultations - the first GP I spoke with insisted that I didn't need to see anyone face-to-face, the second didn't even bother to call me, choosing to text me, two and a half hours after the appointment time instead, to give me the results of my X-rays: I may, or may not, have Osteoarthritis. That was the 'Professional' diagnosis of the GP in question. I made a complaint to the surgery directly and was assured, by a partner GP, that the pain I am in would be taken seriously...still waiting. I am in constant pain and they couldn't care less. I remember the days when GP's actually cared about their patients. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life. I will be leaving as soon as humanly possible. I will also be making a complaint to the GMC. One star, purely because I have to give at least one.

I felt unwell so I called 111, advised to get some tablets ok, got them, took them, didn't work so called GP, No appointment available sorry, I can get a doctor to call you back, they confirmed my phone number, then they called my parents whilst I was at work, called me for 10 seconds when my parents asked them to call me directly, left a text on my phone to call back to GP, called back waited another 30 minutes to for an answer, when phone was picked up advise I will receive a CALL before 6pm, 6:10 received a TEXT with a link for some images of my condition, send the pictures, no answer , next day called back to GP ( it's day 3 now and I have received no care ) oh ok, I can see the GP will call you back today before 1, called me, spoke to me for two minutes and said ok which pharmacy would you like your prescription, I said pharmacy A, turns out send to another pharmacy, so travels to the other pahrmecy to pay for medication, over the phone prescribed two medication a cream and some tablets, guess what, the pharmacy only has the tablets as prescribed not the cream apparently. I love the NHS, and this is why I only use it when it's absolutely necessary, in my lifetime I have been to the doctor a total of 7/8 times, and each time the service is getting worse, I pay a lot of tax, the least I expect is to be able to see a doctor when I'm severely ill.

GP surgeries are supposed to have a duty of care towards their patients so please tell me why whenever I call to make an appointment for my elderly parents I’m asked to submit an online consultation. However then when I go to submit an online consultation it says “we have paused access to online enquiries”. How does that make sense?! I don’t want to be calling 111 for non emergencies but looks like I’m being pushed in that direction. It’s so frustrating having to deal with this every time my parents need an appointment. Made a huge mistake by moving to this surgery

I've never heard of such a terrible appointment system. They expect you to call every morning to see what appointments they have available for the same day/next day. How can anyone with a job/commitments possibly work with a system like that?

Very chaotic communication: I went in to get my blood drawn and the person did not know what the blood was going to be used for and I had to explain for what. Employee complained about the GP never specifying this. I asked for the blood results in writing after receiving a phone call about it and all of a sudden the results were not available. After pushing again I finally got the blood results on paper. It took my partner over 2 months and 3 tries to get registered with this GP. This surgery is really chaotically run, it needs much better communication to patients. In the end you are responsible for people's health!

They don’t deserve any stars the baddest service i have ever faced the doctors were so bad that my dry cough led to me having tuberculosis due to the fact the doctors sent me home telling me to drink honey and lemon. The doctors in London Hospital then helped me.

It would appear staff and doctors are on their first day of work, lost and confused. So they will say anything to cover up their lack of knowledge. Really appalling service especially from the reception team and the behind reception staff. Even Doctors are not very helpful as they don’t give you referrals and keep bombarding with unnecessary medication which I gathered they are connected with the pharmacies and fill the bags with many drugs and when I comes to your prescription which are on repeat they won’t give you or sign for it. This Health Centre should be shut as they are really corrupting and not giving the much needed help to their patients. With such bad experience I am definitely looking to move and change the pharmacy they’re connected to do all the fraud. Very very bad experience, customer service, most of the doctors only hang around with a cup of tea and say they are fully booked. The booking system it’s a failure as they won’t pick up or would put the phone down! Pathetic service, excuses time and time again nothing has improved for the past 10 years. I would avoid registering with this practice as they are not committed and helpful whatsoever.

Appalling beyond words! First of all you can NEVER get an appointment so it took me years to actually see someone which was only because I called 101 and they made my GP phone to give me an appointment. I then phone, only to be kept on hold for 9 mins then hung up on. I call back and after 40 minutes in hold, I walk over to the surgery. There's not a single patient in the waiting area and 3 receptionists plus staff out the back doing absolutely F all!!!! There's no reason whatsoever no one answered the phone, just sheer laziness! Absolutely fuming! Of course they blamed a 'faulty phone line' which I was fully expecting rather than take any accountability for laziness! They then say 'oh your blood tests were normal so we don't phone you to tell you' so they'd rather you worry than have the courtesy to actually tell you!? Utterly disgusting and zero compassion for anybody. VILE! They need shutting down immediately. The only decent person in the entire place is Dr Amir.

I have Toe problem and ear drum pain, 3/4 thimes I try to book appoinment but they don't bother to so. If I would anything happen the GP will be resposible. I think all GP should close down this is unnecessary they don't give any treatment only harassing the people. Go bank to thousand of years ago when everyone survive without treatment. I don't give any star but I could not post it without the clicking the star.

This GP is one that should get closed. Since they've moved the quality of their services and staff have been ridiculous. The staff here including some doctors really don't care about the patients this is evident during the difficult process of booking an appointment and then attending one with a doctor who wants you out as soon as you step into the room. I've been calling the surgery from 8am and they are apparently closed. They need to get rid of all the front reception staff as they are unwilling to help, extremely rude and clearly uneducated.

Near EVERY single time I go on online booking it’s not open. They make the most restrictive opening times for booking, especially for people who are working. And the few times I’ve gotten through it’s been a short phone call with no follow up. Been registered with this surgery since 2020 and have only been able to physically visit ONCE. Is it so much to ask to see a GP in person?

The surgery manager at this xx place could do with some training in the way to speak to members of the public. I have been forced to make a formal complaint due to a complete lack of basic duty of care. This is the worst surgery I’ve ever been a patient of. I cannot wait to find an alternative surgery. I await the outcome to my complaint so I can take it forward to NHS England who should teach the staff how to run a surgery adequately.

Impossible to get through via the phones, I've not been able to get a follow up blood test, recommended via the GP (via text, am yet to speak to anyone) to then wait over 40mins before to not even speak to anyone as the phone just rings through - over a month later I've still not been able to book this blood test. Have been waiting for a phone appointment that was scheduled on 22/04/2023 after sending an online enquiry via the NHS app, no phone call 7+ days later, without further contact. Its really stressful when you're worried about your health.

The worst GP ever probably. Lack of knowledge by members of staff. They make you waste time: to speak with someone at the phone it takes at least 20 mins and they make you go back and fourth because they don’t even know the procedures. Cancelling appointment without a reasons. Just can’t wait to move somewhere else

Very disappointed with the service here. I’ve been trying to book an appointment since the morning and whenever I get connected as the next caller the receptionist hangs up. They get paid to take calls while sitting down and your telling me they cant do that. Beyond appaling, will report to the nhs to shut down this embarrassment of a GP, you cant take calls in a emergency?? That could've caused many lives to be lost, yet your peacefully chatting away to your colleague. I agree with amber this place needs to be shut down i dont mind even travelling if it means i get a better service, care and attention. Purely just idiots at work. People who say they've received good service not saying your lying but mate thats a one off anyone whos a regular here will know this is pure rubbish and should be abolished. I asked Abir, still waiting and it's coming up to 6 months. Awful Service and the GP keeps coming up with excuses saying back logs especially Rebecca who is in charge. ABIR who deals with medical, she ends up taking sick leave or in holiday. Charging people money cash in hand, do you show this to government and producing hand written receipt. When the GP asks for receipt, they don't keep an copy. Rebecca enquire more people to work and clear backlogs. They Ridiculous!!!! Think twice before joining this GP.!!!!! person who is dealing with medical history "Abir"

Extremely poor service. Generally it's a 1-2 hour to just get through to receptionist on the phone. then once you do you they cannot do much, not sure if it's lack of experience or knowledge. I waited so long It was actually quicker to drive to the surgery instead. Once arrived i can see the reception is over staffed all guys and girls there laughing and joking with each other, don't hear any phone ringing but I was still number 14 in the queue I didn't hang up just to see what's really going on. Very disappointed to say the least, never used to be this bad. When I spoke to an Asian guy, he came across very arrogant and annoyed like it was my fault why I came to the surgery, he was acting like he was doctor or something trying to tell me what medication I should be on ect, all I wanted was my prescription so I can pick up my medication. Surgery was empty and they are pretending to be typing on the pc soon as they saw me. Waste of taxpayers money.

The worst group of people I have encountered. I waited 1:45 mins on hold to book a telephone appointment. I’m never did get through through to anyone. The line dropped. The Asian staff members hired to reflect the community are rude to the community they are meant to serve often refusing to speak the common language of the members of the community. They talk down to elderly people and those with English as an additional language doing nothing to very little to support the service users. Truly bad behaviour over all.

I also find it very frustrating when you are unable to get an appointment, but I've always found the staff kind and helpful. Being unable to get an appointment means that all available appointments are taken . In my opinion you would do better to address your complaints to the government rather than the receptionist. The NHS is amazing, but it just can't cope.

Dr Gita Thakur is completely lacking any compassion. She has no concern for patient safety or mental health. After suffering for months with serious symptoms causing me to lose my relationship, making it extremely difficult for me to function in my job, she has refused to make a referral any specialist. Laughably the only referral I had received from the practise was one for community out reach, that I had apparently been referred to by the doctor. According to the community outreach service, they aim is to connect people with weak links to the community. Just what I needed to help with consistent shortness of breath, dizziness and heart palpitations. Thanks DR!

So far so good. Been to see a GP once who was lovely. Most importantly - reception seem to answer their phones! Also reception seem to know what's going on which I'm not used to with GP surgeries. Online booking is absolutely useless, although you can get an appointment via a phone call. I did manage to get prescription medication online without issue though. I've not had much luck with surgeries in London so far but this one (knock on wood) has been fine so far.

I love thos surgery. All the doctors nd nurses that I have met so far are so caring and show true concern for their patients. I wish all receptionists were a bit more helpful

I have been trying to book an appointment for urgent problem but the line at 8 am is always busy and is quite impossible to book an appointment. If you go to the clinic, they don't book any appointment. So I managed with the receptionist to receive a call from the doctor from 14:00 to 15:00 . Nothing happened. Now looking for a new GP clinic in my area. Thanks guys

It's impossible to get any appointments, even their "guaranteed 48h appointments" are gone. Was told to call back tomorrow. Another time could only get a telephone appointment, then was called in. The Dr I saw didn't have an appointments scheduled, was just on the phone

Hard to get an appointment. Moody doctors can't believe this surgery exists on tax payers money .

I registered with XX Place Surgery fairly recently as my previous GP practice was very unprofessional, hard to get through to and an appointment was not always available for when I needed it, especially when I did not have the need to attend regularly. Anyhow I made the decision to register my kids and my parents to XX Place Surgery and we’re all super happy. The staff and doctors are very professional and go above and beyond to give their patients the duty of care that is required. They take their time and listen to you and provide the necessary treatment. My parents were in awe when the doctors followed up with phone calls in order to check how my parents were doing after they both went in for their appointments. My parents asked me if this is a new thing with the Gp’s now? The other Doctors from their previous surgery never offered this service and you would be very lucky to even get an appointment, let alone them call and follow up appointments they attended. I explained that this is a super efficient surgery and this is a 10/10 service these Doctors are providing. One of the receptionist by the name of Shipu/Shibu has been super helpful in getting my son and dad an appointment on the day. She was very professional in her approach and went the extra mile to get them both seen. I am very happy with this surgery and have recommended families and friends to register. Thank you all. Keep up the great work that you all are doing (*_*)
