The sauna is never hot enough, im wasting time having to spend much longer time in the sauna to get any benefits from it. It should be around 85 to 90 degrees. Im not the only one complaining the sauna is not hot enough, but so are many other gym users too. Its a sauna, it is suppose to be hot! Cold shower has been broken for months and the staff keep saying the same thing " it will be fixed very soon we don't know exactly when". It comes out like a jet and the broken shower head moves around. Its just terrible. As i walk into the showers, the showers to my left smell extremely gross, like a drain but worse. I feel sick when taking a shower there. It has been smelling so bad for months. Music choice is a terrible too.

Located under the railway arches of Cambridge Heath station, itā€™s very easy get to. Thereā€™s plenty bus stops around it as itā€™s in the corner of a busy cross junction. If you prefer to drive then thereā€™s free parking after 5:30pm and all day Sundayā€™s. It looks very small from the outside, as you canā€™t see how many arches theyā€™ve taken. But itā€™s actually quite long and also us a womenā€™s only workout area if the ladies prefer segregation. They have great equipment, enough space and also a spacious changing room with a sauna inside it. The shower cubicles are the biggest non-family cubicles Iā€™ve seen! The neon lights everywhere makes the place feel alive, even when thereā€™s not many people in the gym (gives you good energy for a good workout). The staff there are really friendly too!

PTs are very friendly and do help you if you need anything. But the negatives are too heavy not to state: prices have been increased on a number of occasions through 2018-2022. Stated that it was used to improve the gym. The gym is actually just about useable. Some machines dont work, the showers are in an absolutely state, tissue everywhere on gym floors and showers, showers smell like urine, weight bars missing from racks at times, safety clips missing for bars 90% of the time, the gym gets really busy - and you will most probably find yourself waiting for machines - even a simple treadmill. Not sure whats going on but looks like a lack of adequate management of the gym and over subscription of members for its capacity. The focus turned from quality to just turning a profit :(

Iā€™ve been a member for 2 months now. The sauna has been out of order twice (that is really annoying as was the reason why I sign up to this club.) The shower had cold water for a long time. The cleaner is doing the changing room at pick hours and not respecting basic rules (like washing the floor with plenty soap and not using the yellow sign, or cleaning the sauna at 7 once people are suppose to use it). The gym is most time overcrowded and the app that is suppose to track the real time usage is not working properly. Clearly is not a management priority to give a quality service to the club users.

Sauna is not way near hot and cold shower is damaged, im being jetwashed by the cold shower. Avoid this gym unless you want to be disappointed. After a long day of work i was really looking forward to the sauna... only to go in and find that its NOT HOT AT ALL!! Its a joke i remember few months ago it was around 90 degrees and was lovely and now its gone downhill. Everyone is complaining in the sauna that its not hot enough, its a waste of time. Really disappointing and fustrating. It cant be called a sauna anymore, just a warm ish room. The changing rooms would benefit from a water drinking station.

This gym is so dated. Everything is so old and not clean. In the ladies only side there is long spider webs from the ceiling to the treadmill divider. The machine benches are torn. The studio is small and AC does not work. Gets steamy in there during classes and you can no longer see yourself in the mirror Don't even get me started on the toilets, it's always a mess. I cancelled my membership 2 weeks before payment day and they stopped me from using the gym before my contract end date. I am not happy about this. The best part of the gym was Zumba classes on Monday and Wednesday evening, the Zumba teacher is amazing and his energy is something else!! Other than that this gym is not worth the price

The ladies section needs a update. Most of the equipments are old and tatty. Few machines donā€™t even work! WHEN WILL YOU FIX THE BROKEN MACHINES? Most of us have paid annual membership and we only use the ā€œladies onlyā€ gym. The machines either do not work or are extremely old. We are not getting our monies worth. I have emailed the gym about it but no reply. Donā€™t get me started on the two times I witnessed men trying to walk in the womanā€™s changing room! Apparently ā€œlookingā€ for a female friend. Unbelievable behaviour!

Pros: * Cheap * Friendly * Many classes which are generally not fully booked (except yoga which always seems to be fully booked) * Fun teachers (for Spin and Boxfit ā€”Ā I haven't tried other classes) Cons: * No space for deadlifts. Most people deadlift in front of the squat racks since it's the only free area but the floor is uneven meaning the barbells roll around. Ideally they would install proper deadlift mats and remove the sled track since nobody uses it. * Busy in the evenings (fair enough, you get what you pay for) * Nobody puts their weights back. This is extremely annoying and worse than most gyms. I wish there was some kind of disciplinary action against members who consistently do this. * Poor variety of lunchtime classes compared to evening * 7AM weekday opening is a bit late ā€”Ā other gyms typically open at 6:00AM or 6:30AM. This makes it harder to squeeze in a pre-work workout

I used to go to this Gym a while back and my income has been steady then unsteady. The previous time when it was cheaper and the Gym was a lot better I was able to cancel and now that they've worsened they say I must stay due to the membership time. They used to have bright walls and a bright environment in the women's area and now they've made it dark and dull, with rubbish music to make it less motivating to work out. I've been to a class and I have to say the first time it was great but the second time even though I had booked it beforehand people had filled up every cycling area which meant they either overbooked or did not check who is actually meant to be there. Very dissapointing. Also many other gyms give the opportunity to freeze your account, maybe not when it was 17.99 as it was the cheapest I had seen then but now it's a price that loads of other gyms are too so freezing the account should be a thing for people who are going abroad etc. Places that have it the same price also give student discount like Pure Gym but the location for me is the only issue. F4L don't give student discount making me feel all they care about is the money and no concern for customers. Let's be honest, the sauna was only put there so that you can try and sell the membership further. Final issue that I can remember is that we are never given any heads up on when male workers will be in the changing rooms. No emails or texts or anything. It's pointless for some women as they go to this gym knowing there's a female section. Is it impossible to get female workers? You're probably not looking in the right places if it is. The staff are really nice, there's not a fault about them, they always say hello and I pretty much always see the cleaning staff clean.

Joined recently, no trial offered so signed up for 12 months. instant regret due to smell of body odour in the gym. I understand that people come here to sweat but there is clearly no cleaning of surfaces taking place. The deep pong is striking and is present in almost every room, this is a shame as I really like the facilities but the maintenance is just so humorously below par. This can also been seen with the amount of tissue papers scattered around the gym, deplorable really. Advice to management: PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE TELLING PEOPLE BEFORE JOINING THAT YOU WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING OR MAINTENANCE AND MAYBE CONSIDER HANDING OUT PEGS FOR PATRANTS NOSES UPON ENTRY

Recently joined and this gym has exceeded my expectations. The staff all seem so lovely. On my first day, the receptionist was so helpful and so informative. I had asked her alot of questions and she was so patient and answered it all without feeling annoyedšŸ˜. F4L allow you to book a free 30 minutes session with a PT and I chose Angela. Honestly, she was amazing! Made me feel at ease and less nervous being at the gym. During our session, Ange kept ensuring I was okay and making sure it wasn't too much for me. Cannot wait to book her in the future, she definitely made me feel like I was doing a great job when working out which boosts me even more to go and work on my body. They literally have such great staff and not to forget the perks. Also to add, the females only gym has quite alot of machines and the fitting room is massive alongside sauna inside. They allow you to bring a guest for free for 1 day, which is great. My friend came and she joined the gym after her free 1 day pass. Only small problem I have is I wish there was a separate entrance to the females only gym without having to past the mens gym area but either than that, cannot fault this place.

At first I thought it was a good gym when I came to see it, now Iā€™m staying only because itā€™s the only cheap gym next to me. The pulley machine has been broken for months, soap dispenser in showers are mouldy, old and one of them is missing for months also. Toilet has been leaking for weeks but still no one able to do nothing so every time you use the loo, you end up with wet soles. Girls take dumbbells and general equipment to the second floor when they shouldnā€™t and it can take up to 3-4 working days for someone of staff to bring them down again (this doesnā€™t happen in mixed areas). Once I went to ā€œreceptionā€ to ask if they had a machine I needed, they guy just told me it was in the second room, couldnā€™t find it and he didnā€™t even try to come to show me or help, he guided me from the desk (was talking to another guy) just so when I turned he could give a look at my backside. It was so obvious because I felt and saw him. It was disgusting. Most of the times thereā€™s no blue roll available, even if you come early in the morning. I saw a comment of a girl saying the same about broken/old equipment and they asked if she reported it. Excuse me? Arenā€™t you guys supposed to check that instead of just chatting behind the desk? You donā€™t even feel safe with the staff from here. Honestly if you can afford it, go somewhere else. Zumba classes are good though.

The price continues to rise, just received an email to say that the price will increase AGAIN by Ā£3 in the new yearā€¦ This wouldnā€™t be the worst thing if the machines werenā€™t rusty and the machines had stickers to tell you the weight before putting the pin in! The showers are disgusting, the changing room stinks and donā€™t even get me started on the toiletsā€¦ If the money isnā€™t even going to put a new bit of leather on the worn out, cracked equipment then where is the money going?? The only reason I go here is because itā€™s close, the convenience. If itā€™s not close to you, donā€™t bother, thereā€™s so many alternatives out there who actually take care of their equipment and change machines when theyā€™re tired.

Fantastic affordable gym with some of the best staff knowledge I have ever come across. Great range of equipment and itā€™s spacious so no one gets in your way. The team always offers great advice and keep the place spotless. Would never go anywhere else!

Only getting 2 stars because its local. BUT not worth the price at all. All the equipment are OLD and RUSTY. They just celebrated 12 years of opening. How about new equipments? This place is poorly looked after. Showers are weak also heavy smell of urine. I have never seen a cleaner. Staff are friendly but they are always sitting in reception. Please update equipments! Its not fit for purpose. Or at least give them a tlc.

More like Fitness4More, the prices have risen so much it's resorted me to change gyms. However, I do like the gym, it has natural lighting coming through which makes working out more enjoyable and the atmosphere is generally quite well, other then price I would have stuck with them. I remember when it used to be Ā£15.99!

Iā€™ve been coming to this gym for a good couple of years itā€™s great value for money and there are some really great classes. Damienā€™s spin class is great. Iā€™d recommend it for all levels of experience. Youā€™ll always leave feeling like youā€™ve worked hard! Itā€™s a fun (but challenging!) atmosphere with great music and the playlist and routine changes class to class. Damien is a fab instructor and ensures everything is easy to follow, correcting and explain form as we go.

Just joined very good gym at good prices. if you are looking for such a prestigious gym why don't you go Virgin Active or some other premium gym this is a basic gym but it is amazing. Also perfect for cost-conscious people who don't want to spend a fortune for a gym where they hardly go to.

Really disappointed to see that a few people have given this gym low ratings. In my opinion the gym is great. Value for money considering the location and hours it's open till. Staff always smiling, willing to listen and help if you have any questions/queries/issues. They've revamped the whole place, it now has a sauna (which I haven't used so can't really comment), extra treadmills and these funky bikes that I never use. General members are friendly and are happy to show you the correct use of the machines if staff are unavailable, no one's perfect and some members do leave weights lying around but that's not the fault of the gym or staff (staff do go about cleaning and tidying up other people's mess tbh). Staff are willing to show you around the gym before you sign up so everything's fairly transparent and you know what you're signing up to so no stress. Don't be put off by negative comments - come and make up your own conclusion. Take care.

Couldn't argue with the price so decided to get a full 12 month membership. Wasn't able to get a trial regrettably. real let down by the maintenance of the gym. A lot of tissue paper all over the ground probably due to a lack of bins. Lots of equipment doesn't function properly - missing parts etc. The push track with the sled is a joke, because of where it is it's being improperly used for deadlifting and even if there isn't anyone on it, there's always about three barbells left behind there. All gyms have an issue with people putting their weights back but it's particularly bad here. Any other gym i've been in the staff reset the weights every evening, the lack of that happening here has a knock on effect and no members bother to put effort in because of it.

Great value for money! Only thing is that the gym is always incredibly messy. Weights (and every other type of equipment imaginable that can be moved) are in the wrong place 9 times out of 10. I've never seen any staff doing a quick tidy in my 9 months of using the gym 6 days a week. This is the first gym i've ever been to that clearly doesn't care one bit about orderliness which is a huge shame as it prob would've got 4/5 star if not for that!

Great gym for travelers and visitors. They have 3+ big rooms with all the equipment you need for a weight + cardio workout, plus locker rooms, saunas, and showers. You can get a 5-day pass for Ā£50 or a monthly membership for Ā£35 plus a onetime registration fee. Shoutout to my guy G at the front desk for helping me find the best deal and generally being super chill and helpful.

  • 5/5 Ed H. 3 years ago on Google
Are you going to get better gyms? Certainly. For this price, in London? No - this is very good value. Yes, the toilets don't smell amazing, and there could be a better variety of equipment, and more space. But when you're paying ~Ā£30/month for a central location, you can't complain.

  • 4/5 Amy H. 2 years ago on Google
The women's only area could do with an upgrade as the machines are not as good as the ones in the common area. Otherwise, this is definitely the best value for money gym in the borough.

Came today and the person(female) receptionist at the front was so lovely. Was my first time today and she made me feel very welcome. As its my first time, not sure what I was expecting. Sadly on the F4L website when I registered no indication of downloading an app but she was so lovely and broke it down for me and answered all my questions. Made me feel at ease. There is womens gym here which is great which is why I joined. Only issue is, to get to the female gym you have to walk past the main bit which is where all the men are working out. Will find a way if theres any other way of going to females only gym without having to do that long embarrassing walk lol. You get free 30 mins PT session if you book in advance which is great. There are lockers you can use if you get your own lock pad. Sauna is inside the changing room along with showers etc. Would definitely recommend based on service from first experience, thank you!

Overall a really good gym, staff are friendly and acknowledge your existence unlike most gyms In East London. Has relatively good amounts of weights, dumbells and equipment which other gyms don't have so definitely no excuse not to get a good workout. The cleaners work really hard to maintain the hygiene and overall presentation of this gym so kudos to them for their dedication. Only criticism is the lack of an adductor machine and preacher bench which this gym greatly needs. Overall happy with my experience šŸ‘

After relocating back home to Australia due to Covid and thinking my account was closed, Fitness4Less charged my account again after suddenly reopening. I requested this amount be refunded as I was now in another country but they insisted I should have cancelled successfully myself and stated I would not get my money back. The next month, they charged me again, so after having being well and truly ripped off I can say this is not a gym you want to trust with your bank details. Highly frustrating experience during and already difficult time.

Very large and spacious but would be perfect if there was a deadlift platform or large industrial sponges to take the impact of large weight touching the floor, a standard ab crunch bench and better quality barbells as some of them spin loose during reps...

Hello, Im grateful this gym has a Ladies Only section. Itā€™s a shame few machines have been broken for over 4 months now. I understand fixing them takes ages but this is ridiculous! I miss using the Cable machine and i canā€™t go to the mix gender section. Donā€™t feel comfortable exercising front of men. When will the new machines come? Also when will the other machines be fixed? Thank you.

Great priced gym, friendly staff and good equipment with saunas included in the steam rooms. Only gripe would be the cleanliness as the showers are unclean and full of odour most of the time and general hygiene is therefore a concern. Some users lack respect for others while using the changing rooms, but this can't be faulted so much on the gym itself, just a point to note.

  • 3/5 dominic t. 1 year ago on Google
Fairly small gym and some of the equipment not in a great state - poor action, rusted, faded digits, electronic counters often out of battery for weeks/months, usually multiple treadmills out of service etc. Friendly staff. Even cheap quality of life stuff isnā€™t done like enough clips, non frayed ropes, enough barbells for all the benches and squat racks without needing to borrow them. Anyway it gets the job done. If you require space e.g. for sled push youā€™ll probably not get it.

Great value!! I love the (very varied) classes, and the staff is always nice and welcoming! I have never used the showers/sauna so I canā€™t review cleanliness but the rest of the gym is always very well maintained. I have never heard of a gym that cheap with such quality classes.

Sauna door hasn't been fixed for 4+ month. It is such an easy and cheap fix. Please care more about your customers. Also would be great to make one shower cabin with just cold water so people could use it after sauna. I promise to change it to 5 star rating after you make it happen.

I have been a member at Fitness4Less for a few years but recently decided to book some sessions with one of the personal trainers there to help me commit to my goals. My PT was Alex and I've been really happy with our sessions. She listened to what I was aiming for long-term, and used those goals to formulate a series of workouts that I can then do independently at the gym or at home. She gives great advice on form and technique, has guidance on using nutrition to supplement my fitness journey, and she's a really positive and encouraging trainer. I was new to lifting and using certain equipment, and it can feel quite intimidating to get started, but now I feel really confident. I definitely recommend her, especially for anyone who's looking to step up in their fitness journey.

Good gym, has decent sized weights section, loads of machines, has a sauna and itā€™s clean. If I could suggest anything it would be to have a lot more barbel weight plates that are different sizes according to their weight. At the moment most weight plates are the same size and it leads to disorganisation, makes it hard to find what I need and hard to add more weight when the barbell is on the floor. Also, there is one tv that has been on ā€œdemoā€ mode for 2 months, PLEASE turn it off itā€™s driving me mad! šŸ˜‚

Great facilities! Have previously paid alot more at other gym chains for much the same thing, so it's amazing value here! Agree with the previous reviews that the weights are a complete mess all the time, but that's the lazy members, not the staff. It doesn't take long to look around for what you need anyway. I typically go during off peak times, so can't really comment on how busy it gets. Off peak, I always have the free space/equipment required. Please, please, please instal a deadlift area. Currently have to do this behind the squat racks and it's unstable/unsutiable. Special shout out for Lucil's "BodyBlitz" class on Sunday mornings at 10.30. For an intense cardio session of kicking and punching the air, would definitely recommend trying it.

Nice cheap gym. Nothing special but does the job. Really quiet due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Has the machines I need for my exercises and routine but they could do with some new equipment and more space !

I've been a member for a few months. Great range of free weights and machines. The staff are friendly. What keeps me coming back is the female-only area and the sauna. Excellent value for money. Taking off one star because free weights tend to be scattered everywhere (more so in female-only area) and the bathroom smell.

This used to be a great gym however now it seems to have gone downhill. The pros: -Great range of classes which you can attend at no extra charge. -Ladies only area is well equipped and spacious. The cons: -The toilets constantly smell and cleanliness of the showers is poor. -The sauna rarely works and even when reported to staff it doesn't get fixed which feels like a rip off when you don't get what you've paid for. It's been over 4 weeks now. - There's not point telling staff of any issues as it doesn't get resolved. I've decided not to continue my membership here as a result.

Best gym I've ever attended. I've been a member for 2 years and sadly stopped since the pandemic. I love all the classes and the PT are all wonderful and approaching people. This is the best value for money I ever got and I highly recommend it to newbies and pros. Love that the gym equipment is new and the gym us kept clean. Shout out to Andy, Marcella, Chris M, Chris K(can't remember your last name muay thai guy) and the guy who does boxing(i really can't remember your name but you know who you are)

I love this gym in Cambridge heath Road

Joined as women only section - basic but has what you need. Been a member of many gyms over the last few years but this is my favourite. Much better than you would expect for the price, although a student discount would be appreciated, as it's not much less at Ā£27 than Pure Gym that i was a member of and got a discount for. Staff friendly, everyone down to earth and welcoming. Fantastic cleaning staff too and changing rooms always well looked after.

Great staff, friendly and helpful. Quick, efficient and easy access to a gym with a reasonable set of equipment. Most the members don't seem to know or want to put weights back after use... Ever. Very busy during peak times so plan ahead if you are in a rush/have limited amount of time to work out. Cambridge heath overground train station just outside the gym giving you access to Liverpool Street/Central London, and Seven Sisters/North London within 10/15 mins
